You enter the classroom, and find it as unremarkable as any other classroom that you have been in. The desks are in (mostly) neat rows that are (somewhat) evenly spaced, the walls an off-white that shows signs of peeling here and there, like the maintenance crew cared just enough to make sure that it was painted, but not enough to make sure it was done right. The only fairly remarkable thing in the whole room was this: Lingering in a corner of the room was a shadow. A tall, slouching shadow that looked remarkably like a butler...

The front of the room sported a Teacher's desk. If anyone were to pay attention, they would note that it had been recently polished. It also had a stack of fresh, brand-new composite notebooks sitting in a meticulous pile an exact two inches from the corner. Beside it sat a box of rather decent pen-snakes which, according to the branding, 'bit 40% less than your no-name pen-snake brands!!'.

WELCOME, CLASS was written on the blackboard behind the Teacher's desk in clear, concise strokes: whoever had written it, made sure it was written neatly and with a purpose. Then, in similar but smaller font below, read: "Please take one note book and one pensnake before taking your seat."

This time, I promise it isn't a class about nothing! I promise. Scout's honor!

This will be the general intro class for Etiquette 101.

Meixiang really needed to get some more classes under her belt. She was failing miserably at that as a year 3. So when the newest class opened up she made sure that she was one of the first people to sign up.

The Jiang Shi entered the room with a grin, her long sleeves billowing with her movement as she cross the class room, grabbed a note book and pen snake then took a seat right up front.

Not exactly the class that the Peryton had had in mind as being one of her first classes.

But she did need to actually be active in her teaching if she were to return home at any time lest she return to a seething elder Peryton father whose tongue-lashing was something Aureole did not ever look forward to, past or present.

Keeping her chin up, she entered the room to the classroom and made her way to the desk to retrieve the items upon reading the blackboard. With a notebook and pen snake in her possession, she made her way to the middle row. Just enough to see but not enough to be caught, just in case.

As per her Elders instructions, Ashanti was supposed to be a part of the school, learn, and report if anything went wrong. This meant she was tasked with actually going to classes and social events. There seemed to be some form of social event coming up, a 'prom' (whatever that entailed, or even was), as well that she was to be a part of. First business was class though, and a class that just said "Welcome Class" on the board seemed the best bet.

Nevermind that the Abyssal Dragon had no idea what class it was supposed to be, of course. The tall young lady found a chair in the back, tail curved around her hip and wings kept close to her to keep them out of the way. She had a simple note book and a quill that was more scale like than feather. Ah well.

Llyr breezed into the classroom, looking quite pleased to be there.

He took a seat, folded his hands in front of him, and smiled expectantly around.

Xavier, on the other hand, was slouched somewhere in the back.

Helmut stormed in, walking right past the black board and the teacher's desk…and only stopped when she noticed that everyone else had a note book, and she did not. Oops. Well. She marched her way back to the desk after realizing there were instructions on the board, grabbed her things, and turned to stare at the class.

She plunked herself down in the chair beside Xavier and, in a stage whisper that was more akin to her normal tone of voice, asked:

"Are you trying to disappear into the chair? Because I think you're a lil'too tall…"

Alpinely peeked in with a grin before what looked like a quite zealous hop into the classroom. She was making a beeline for one of the seats while gazing around her curiously when she saw instructions and moved in accordance with them; taking a notebook first. It opened in a fan of pages since she picked it up just by the cover and she shifted it in her hold with a swoop that prompted a rush of more sounds of moving pages. She picked up a pen with an equal amount of seemingly practiced clumsiness as it suddenly went up in the air as she picked it up and slipped out of her hold perhaps and she caught it with the notebook with a snap and surprised but fascinated look on her features before smilingly taking a seat now.

Danirate was much calmer when it happened that he encountered the class and decided to check what it had to offer coincidentally again about the same time after Ali had as well. He outwardly kept the annoyance from his features that she often prompted from him with either masked or genuine ignorance. As usual she was a volcano of energy that had a knack for seamless attempts at tripping him up literally and figuratively like it was just a matter of being there. But despite her buzzing movements, he had managed so far to dodge the cannonball zipping about so far. He picked up a notebook next behind her, decidedly tossing a pen under the front cover with little thought as he proceeded in carrying the class materials by one end at his side while he took his seat.

Cearney had an obsession.

It was with that fear amplification device (a.k.a. bracelet) he had bought from the strange salesman outside campus. He couldn't take it off. Why would he ever want to remove it? It made him feel so much more powerful...

His mind was so far into the bracelet and what he could do with it that he nearly forgot he should be attending class, the reason why the leprechaun elders had united to send him to Amityville in the first place. In fact, it could be argued he absent-mindedly stumbled into class, only realizing he had once he noticed everyone else was sitting at desks.

Oh, right.

Getting his head back into the game, Cearney moved to grab himself a notebook and a less bitey than usual--though still bitey--pensnake. Once he smacked the pensnake so it stopped trying to bite him, he sat himself in the front, moreso out of necessity than actually wanting to really be right in view of the professor.

============

Serafina was excited about the possibility of graduating soon, even though the other part of her never wanted to leave Amityville at all. Going to a class was something that could make both sides of her conflicted emotions happy, though.

She was attending class, which fulfilled her curiosity and her urge to continue learning at Amityville for as long as she could. On the other hand, she also needed to go to these classes to graduate so she could even fulfill her boutique dreams in the first place. In the end, going to class was a win-win and a no-brainer.

(No offense to zombies with rotted brains, of course!)

Serafina didn't really know what this class was all about, but it didn't really matter either. Honestly, she was eager to learn either way, picking up a notebook and a pensnake--how kind of the professor to provide these for them!--before sitting herself in the middle of the rows. She was far back enough where she could still see, but might not get embarrassed if the professor liked to randomly call on people...

============

Ignatius was not particularly good at this concentration thing in general, but he would certainly try. When a class' doors were open, they caught his attention and he puffed out his chest, strolling in like he owned the place. Yeah.

He spun around and scooped up a notebook and pensnake as directed, waved at the welcome students message like it could actually understand him, and sat himself towards the front.

Okay, now what?

First, Ignatius glanced around for someone to talk to, but when he realized there were relatively few people in the room at the moment, he shrugged, plucked up his pensnake, and worked on taming it with a series of geometric drawings. Well, formally geometric. Now scribbles. Now a dragon. Now...

Determined to put his strange dreams behind him and get back to a normal routine, Brenley started off by seeking out a class to attend. He was pleasantly surprised to find this one with its orderly welcomes and stacks of supplies. He chose a pen, notebook, and a seat near Serafina, after saying his hellos to Ignatius. Not too far forward and not too far back. That was the way to go these days. He still appreciated rules and structure and thought class time was for paying attention, but sitting in the front and deliberately drawing attention just seemed to be asking for trouble.

He had brought some of his own work to keep himself busy while he waited, so he got to it, lining up several rather attractive rocks and shells on the desk in front of him and attending to each one in turn, imbuing it with a minor charm or spell.

Rojo had no idea what this class was about, nor did he care. It was an opportunity to mingle with his classmates and make himself known to a teacher he had never met, and that was enough for him.

"Welcome to you," he told the chalkboard as he entered. A pen and notebook were procured, and then the skeleton was off to find a seat, nodding at those already gathered. "Hello," he said to the shadow in the corner. "Hello," to the undead ghoul who had kicked his butt all over the gym that one time. "Hello," he said to the peryton. "Hello," to the dragon, "hello," to the raum, "Hello, President Llyr!" to Llyr. "Hello," to a small, horned ghoul. Alpinely got a perky wave, Danirate a nod, Balloon Leprechaun another wave. And then there was Ignatius.

Rojo settled into a seat beside the elemental, giving his own pen several light pats as it chomped on his thumb. He folded his hands on the desk in front of him and stared straight ahead, his jaws open in a wide, motionless grin.

"Hello," he said to the boil. It seemed directed out of the side of his mouth somehow.

Lyle floated past the blackboard's directive, his attention on the eyePhone he clutched in long fingers.

Quote:
Text to Gruber:
      I'm in class.

Going to his lessons hadn't been his biggest problem since arriving here, but his new life coach had insisted he text every time he left his room, so text he did. The ghost looked up once he was done, confused as to when he had taken a seat, but pleased he didn't have to expend the effort to choose one with his conscious mind. Things were far easier when they just... happened.

Belatedly he noticed the instructions and wished, not for the first time, that he had been reborn with some sort of telekinesis. Oh, well. He wasn't getting up again now.

Cearney gave a vague wave back with a confused quirk of a brow when the overenthused public relations director insisted on waving to him. What was he so happy about? Undead were bizarre...

============

Hmm? Serafina's eyes shifted from the front of the classroom--where was the professor anyway?--when she noticed someone had sat down next to her. Oh, Brenley? She felt her lips twitch a tad under her surgical mask as she lifted her hand to wave.

What he started doing when he sat down drew her curiosity, and the nosy as ever Serafina scooted a bit closer to get a look. Those rocks looked quite nice as they were, though it seemed he was doing something with them. Not physically, though. Maybe it was a reaper magic sort of thing...

============

Ignatius greeted Brenley merrily, chatting a bit with the reaper before he moved on towards the fellow ghost that he recognized as Serafina. That was fine. He shrugged and went back to doodling his scribble monstrosity before being spotted by the calaca.

Oh, Rojo! It was good to see him. Ignatius gave a similarly wide grin, though it was certainly less stiff looking, considering he was not a skeleton or any kind of undead, for that matter.

Finding Rojo more interesting than his sphinx dragon drawing, for now anyway, Ignatius shifted in his seat to face the other instead. "Hey Rojo! How's it going?"

Etiquette class sounded like something Dwa the Head mustn't missed. Even they were year two student, the Head couldn't help but making troubles. No matter how many times AJ told him not or feed him enough, he couldn't get rid of the natural instinct to prey.

The duo entered the classroom the class would be taking place. While AJ was reading the writing on the blackboard, Head was curious about the small pen-snakes hissing at him, then shortly yelled in amusement: "AJ! AJ! They hiss at me~" The childish boy voice complained. Before AJ could turn around to check, it was too late. The Head had opened its big mouth to the box and got the whole box in when its jaws joined again.

"Bro." His word was clear, it meant what've you done.

You're welcome.

The box of pen snakes hissed in unison at the (to them) massive dragon head that loomed above. Even when the tail creature's jaws closed on them, they could still be heard hissing in displeasure.

Head out receive several bites to the inside of his mouth.

Quote:

Meegane - for every post you make in this thread, AJ receives -2hp from the biting of the snakes! This will end once Head spits them out.

Everyone else - From this point on, anyone willing to challenge AJ's headtail (named Head) for a pen must roll a 1d4. Rolling a 1 results in a bite from Head that costs -2hp, and a 4 means you manage to rescue one pen snake. Anything else is just a fail. You may try as many times as you like to get a pen though! This effect lasts until Head spits out the box.

Xavier was indeed trying to disappear into the chair, but only Helmut would have known this, and he turned his head to look at her, expression as despondent as usual (though in typical Xavier fashion, with a small amount of pleasure in his eyes at seeing his best friend also there).

"I don't know what I'm doing here," he mumbled, easing more into a sitting position that made him seem less like a wilting bird. "The last time I tried to go to a class, I totally failed it."

She should have attended class earlier on! The amount of new people she was seeing was amazing and so many different ones too! It did seem the most of them knew each other but Aureole was still taking in the classroom as a whole.

The light n** of her snake pen brought her back, only to be rewarded with a flick it's nose.

But it wasn't long before a student had entered that... Had a head for a tail? Cool! Her amber eyes lit up watching the event of it biting the snake pens with a grin that threatened to cramp her cheeks before covering her mouth, in case any snickers were to break out.

"Here," Bren said, pleased to have an audience, but only because it was small and comprised of someone he knew. The boil slid a blue shell over to the edge of his desk closest to Serafina. "That one is a laugh charm." If she was to pick the shell up, she would hear soft laughter in her head, neither happy nor eerie. Almost forced. "It's not as creepy as I would like, but it's much better than it was." Happy laughter would do nothing to scare a human, as far as he was concerned.

"It is going very well!" Rojo replied, loosening up considerably as he faced Ignatius. "It is almost time for the prom! Very technical things happening. Many balloons." He tilted his head, poking a finger at the other boil's art. "You are a lovely artist! If you play instruments as good as you draw, we can be the best band in the school!"

He forced himself back to normal conversational volume. "How are you and your things?"
