Living Arrangements (Chihiro x Knight x Rose Ren)

The white vixen had traveled far from her usual area. Her black markings made her easy to spot. She just hopped that on her journey she didn't get mistaken for her father because they did look similar but she did have her mother blue tail and black ears. Her mind was in an uproar. She knew her father was disappointed in her and had decided to leave him be. She had had two bcrs outside of a mateship. So she gathered up her children and headed out. She had ran into the male that she had children with. He said that they could live with him... then dropped a bomb that he had his true love living there with him. She felt even worse. She had slept with someone who had a love and now she and he had kids. If her father ever found out she was sure he would disown her.

Feeling like she had no other choice he accepted his offer to live with him. She had told him that she would make sure they weren't a bother and would provide for herself and the kids if he could just keep an eye on them while she was away. He said he could easily do that which made her feel better. He had offered to help more but she didn't want to be a burden and wouldn't accept the help.

She had gotten herself into a mess and was going to have to get herself out of it. The only other person in her family that she knew that had done the same thing as her was a second cousin of hers and well she never really got to meet him for he didn't like to interact with others.

Rose Ren darted along following the thorn vixen. She really was a thorn in the side, not a bad pestersome one. Just a mild annoyance. She knew Knight had made a mistake and was sorry for it. He had professed as much to her and he was not the kind of fox who could lie to her. Still the fact that there would be other foxes around was slightly annoying to Ren who was at the point in her life where she just wanted to curl and cuddle with Knight and the thought of an interruption was tiresome. She considered letting the vixen keep on as she was but the thought of Knight’s BCRs ending up in danger bothered her. “Hey!” Calling out she moved to intercept the other vixen. “You know you’re going the wrong way unless you wanted to end up heading toward the sea, but that’s a few weeks of journeying.” She wrinkled her nose causing her glasses to skew on her face which she fixed with a paw. Really she wasn’t sure what to make of this shy little ghost. Was she just visiting or coming to take Knight up on the offer he just flung out before. Really that boy had no common sense. She loved him but that didn’t mean he wasn’t silly at times.

“So..” Crap what was her name? Chiri? Chicko? Something or other. “little thorn fox what brings you out this way today?” She moved closer to check on the BCRs they seemed to be intact and undamaged. Or did the kits inside get sick somehow? Was that even possible? “Knight is out doing a bit of hunting but if you wanna come to the den we can wait for him.” She glanced around and knew that wolves frequented the area and didn’t want to be caught unawares. There were more dangerous things but wolves scared her more than most.

Chihiro was unaware that another was following her. She was carefully making her way around trying to find the exact spot Knight had said to go. It didn’t help that she had only been there once. She really didn’t know if she should be there or not. While Knight seemed fine with it she wasn’t sure what the other vixen thought….

She was honestly probably plotting Chihiro’s death. Not that she could blame her and knew her mother had a fit about one of her father’s old flings. Maybe she should turn back and look somewhere else to go. Just as she was turning to head back she practically ran into Knights female. Chihiro put on the brakes and came to a halt. Chihiro was proud of herself for not running into the other vixen because that would have probably just ended up in problems for the both of them.

She blinked as the other asked her what she was doing out here. She opened her mouth to answer and then closed it with nothing coming out. She really didn’t know what she was doing out here and glanced to the grounding pawing it nervously. She nodded her head in understanding as she mentioned that Knight was out hunting. “I..um thought I should bring the kids to see Knight… I know they aren’t hatched but I am told that they pick up vibes from those around them while incased in their BCR’s and thought they should get some vibes from Knight as well,” She said softly to the other vixen her gaze still at the ground and more on the other vixens paws and rose. “Other than that nothing really… maybe thinking about talking over arrangements and how to go about handling this right for the kids’ sake.”

Well at least the vixen had a heart Ren thought about it a while after the vixen had left before and had wondered if she would have had the resolve to make a fling a part of her life. Not likely she would have just kept the kids to herself and ignored the would be father or other mother. This vixen was clearly nicer than her though.

“yeah… He’ll more than definitely wanna see the kids. You too.” She spared the fox a long glance. The vixen just looked so pathetic though. Ren wondered if she growled loud enough if the thorn fox would take off and never come back. Likely from the way she seemed ready to bolt even now. “He didn’t say much other than your family might not be too happy with the situation and you might need a place to sleep.” Well she supposed that was the whole deal unless things were scarier for the vixen than she had let on. Still not her problem. “So yeah I guess there is a bit to talk about.” Her tail curled up for a moment before relaxing again. “There is a cavern that my idiot has been decorating in case you came. Maybe you want to take a look at it?” Ok so her civility sucked at times, but she was making an effort here. Strangers were annoying, a fling was annoying, a lot of things were annoying to Ren right now but she still would take care of things for Knight’s sake. She loved him, and if he was an idiot he was her idiot.

Taking a few steps she gestured for the other to follow her. She wasn’t going to slow down for this stranger though. She was going to at her normal pace which was fairly quick and had many other foxes trotting to keep pace usually.

Chihiro stared at Rose intently. The other female had her full attention. She knew the other female didn’t want her around. But her family didn’t seem to either and she knew it would be best for her kids to interact with their other parent.

She could do this. She would be strong for herself and her kids. She wasn’t going to fail them. Her parents were strong and she could be to or so she told herself. “We can do that. He might be a little upset if I didn’t take a look at it right?” She asked the other vixen. The phim had seemed like the type but she wasn’t sure and she didn’t want to hurt his feelings. When the other vixen started to take of Chihiro gave a shrug and took off after her. Since she was from a family of runners she was really fast and could easily keep pace with the other female.

"Mad no. Hurt maybe. He's not the kind of fox to get upset over things easily unless it comes to me being upset, then he seems to get all riled up." She shook her head knowing she and knight had an understanding that they both weren't aloud to get upset at the same time. Thankfully by the time he usually got riled she calmed down and was more reasonable. Taking glances at the vixen she was uncertain if the vixen was going to cry or hide. Flicking an ear back Rose Ren took a breath. "Stop that." Her tone brooked no argument. "Honestly you look like you expect me to bite you and shake you to bits." Eyes narrowed behind her glasses. " trust me if I was going to do that I would have done that before when I met you. Don't think that knight being there made me any nicer then I am. I'm not one of those stuck up press foxes that will say you can stay in front of my love then turn around and make you miserable during your stay behind his back. What you see is what you get right upfront." Rose then descended into grumbling about stupid foxes more to herself than to the mother keeping pace with her. They were almost to the caves before her grumbling wound down.

Chihiro listened to what Rose was telling her. She was glad they were running that way Rose wouldn’t be able to look back and see the funny look Chihiro had on her face at the bit of information that Knight would only be upset if Rose was upset. She did not like how that sounded one bit. She wasn’t sure if it was true or the other vixen was just saying to try and get some form of reaction out of her. She would not let anything show through on her face. Though to be honest somewhere in her head she was reconsidering everything like living with these foxes with her babies. She might just up and take them somewhere away from the phim and other vixen. The phim would be allowed to visit; she would be fine with that but maybe it wasn’t such a good idea to pretty much right out live with them. The other female then seemed to go into a ramble about how Chihiro was acting and if she expected her to bite her. Chihiro didn’t know what to expect so she was ready for anything. If she looked like she thought she was going to be bit then so be it. Rose continued to ramble on about being one way in front of her phim and another behind his back and stupid foxes. Chihiro let her seeing as Rose really wasn’t talking to her and quite honestly she didn’t have anything to say to the other vixen. Yes she had told the phim that Chihiro and the kids could stay with them but that didn’t mean she was happy with the situation. Chihiro had made her mind up to kind of keep her and her kids away from the other vixen and hidden.

Rose felt a sense of relief when she got the other vixen to the cliffs. She had put in a bit of work making a few little spots around the caves rather comfortable not really sure which would work best for their new guest. It was actually one of the reasons that Rose had been out. She might think the other fox a pain in the tail. She might not like the noise she knew would happen with kits all over the place, but there was a strange part of her that made her want to set up and make sure others around her had what they needed no matter how much she complained about it. “So there are a couple little places that have been cleaned up a bit. Watch your steps and don’t get lost.” With that Rose Ren headed into the caves that were more like an array than a simple cave system. It took a bit to lead the vixen to the spot Ren wanted to show her first. It was a cavern that was rather spacious but kept nice and warm due to its distance from the entrance. Fresh air still wafted back and around though which made it one of the nicer places to rest in Ren’s opinion. That and she’s been changing out flowers she’s picked every day for a week and a half now so the place had a nice floral scent. The lavender from this morning was clearly fresh picked and there had been some long grass that Ren had hauled from a field that had been way to far too darn far to walk to that morning but she had still done it like she had been for a bit now because even if this thorn fox was a pain to her it was still the mother of Knight’s kids and she wasn’t going to let them suffer because of Knight’s mistake. “This might be a good place.” She made it sound as nonchalant as she could though she was fairly proud of the overall effect the cavern had at the moment.

Chihiro let out a bit of a relaxed breath. Running helped destressed her. She should have done it sooner but with the kids popping up and how her family was reacting it hadn’t occurred to her that what she needed was a good run to help her mind sort through everything. She had just been too worried about the kids and how to be a good mother and well everything else that tied into her children. Chihiro nodded her head to Rose about watching her step and was thankful for even though she was a klutz and like shiny things she was still pretty light on her feet. As they entered the cave she slowed her pace and really took in her surroundings. It was spacious. Knight wouldn’t have a problem with his wings if and when he wanted to visit the kids. The kids themselves could each have their own bit of space if they needed it but still be right there under her watchful eye and it was warm. Perfect for new born kits and she could also hint the smell of flowers. She had a small smile and looked at Rose before saying “Thank you. I can smell the flowers I know it was you…. They are very nice. Thank you. I think this place is perfect thank you.”

Ren was blushing and hoping her fur hid it. Was it really the obvious she had done all the decorating? Well it must be she supposed given the fact that Knight was kind but a bit thoughtless at times, well the current situation being one example. “R-right. Well it’s not like it’s much and it’s not like I’m going to rip you apart for a mistake that was made so… anyway there’s no reason for the kids, or you to deal with a messy sleeping place.” Yep nope she didn’t know where to go with this it was time to retreat. “I’ll just leave you to get cozy or wander really whatever you want.” Rose Ren started to head back to try and escape the awkward cloud that she knew she was leaving behind her. Really she was going to have to ask Knight for help with this. She was still vexed with him but damn it it was hard try and get to know someone who came home under such odd circumstances. She stoped halfway down the tunnel. Should she have lead Chihiro out? Or would it be more polite to let her explore as she had left her to do? Crap. The thorn fox had gone and thanked her and here Rose Ren just up and left her in a dark cavern of unknown. Damn it where was knight with food and conversation to help her out?

Chihiro gave Ren a small kind smile. It was obvious that the other vixen was embarrassed and that she didn’t do this sort of thing often. But Chihiro could see that she had a kind heart and that she was trying to make them feel at home. She wouldn’t question it much more for she didn’t want to make it awkward for her since things were definitely already a bit strange. “I thank you and I am sure the kids will to when they are big enough. It is really nice,” she told the other vixen as she wandered in further. She wasn’t going to fight the vixen on making her stay so she just nodded her head to her and let her leave. Again she was going to try and make this less awkward for the other as much as she could. As the vixen left Chihiro bent her head and nuzzled her two little girls whispering to them softly. Telling them how much she loved them and that she would always be there. She glanced around and found some blankets and either grass or hay to make for a soft bedding. She decided that was what she would do first. Rose had kindly left it separated so that she could pick and choose what she was going to use and how. As she approached the pile she decided that it was grass of some form. She laid that out as her base of her and the kids’ nest. After she was satisified with the amount of grass she grabbed a couple blankets and dragged it over the pile of grass so that it was a bit softer and wouldn’t be itchy as the grass dried up.

Pacing back and forth in the dark Rose Ren decided the easiest course of action here was going to be the best because there was no chance she was going to be brave enough to go back in and deal with Chihiro. So taking the coward’s way out she fled back toward the place she and Knight slept at. She knew Knight would be home soon, or at least she hoped soon. Dealing with others was not Rose Ren’s strong suit. She knew the other fox was night, or at least definitely seemed it but Rose Ren was far to much in her head when dealing with the other fox which she knew made her seem cold or unfriendly. She and Knight had that talk a long time ago and then of course they had discussed it shortly after Knight had told her what had happened and that Chihiro might be staying with them whenever she so chose for the kits. Rose Ren distinctly remembered her mate looking at her face and laughing saying she looked silly and giving her a kiss while inside she had panicked and thought of all the awkward encounters that would come with having a stranger staying with them. Knight had patently listened and reminded Rose Ren that it wouldn’t take long for her to get used to Chihiro then the two would not be strangers. She’d called him a B------ and a number of other things after that but had relented quickly enough after getting her rant out because it had made sense. Even she had to admit that.

Pacing back and forth in her den she decided to head out toward the main entrance to wait for Knight.
