- ■ SENSIBLE Miriam is a very no-nonsense person when it comes to how she handles what's important. She's logical and quick-witted, and very good at coming up with reasonable, simple solutions to problems. She's a very critical person when it comes to anything show-offy or overly dramatic.
■ INVENTIVE She is clever, and creative. Miri is quick on her feet and very resourceful. She likes to think outside the box, not to complicate things, but to find the solution that is simplest to execute. She will often find creative ways to cut corners and make less work for herself.
■ COMPASSIONATE In spite of seeming somewhat like a shrew at times, she is a very loving person. Beneath her logical exterior, there is a kind, sweet woman, who wants nothing more than to help people. She often finds herself in a caretaking position, usually by accident, because she chose just the right moment to ask someone what was bothering them or how she could help. She's quite empathic, and good at guiding people when they need it.
■ VIGILANT Given that her fiancee and his best friend can best be described as 'foolhardy,' Miriam learned quickly to be very watchful of the pair. She generally thinks of herself as the voice of reason, much to their annoyance. After a while, they stopped telling her about their more idiotic schemes, which caused her to start keeping an even closer eye on them. She is bound and determined not to allow them to do anything stupid, in spite of their best efforts. This has not changed with their respective deaths.
■ CAUTIOUS Unlike Bo and Leafie, Miri is extremely careful with how she handles herself and any situation she finds herself in. She has a delicate touch, a soft voice, and an easy hand. She believes heavily in diplomacy and avoiding conflict wherever possible. She is careful in choosing her words and actions... with some notable exceptions, namely Leafie and Bo, with whom this particular trait seems to be left to the wayside in favor of losing her temper.
■ HARD-HEADED Miri is stubborn; she has to be, to put up with her loved ones. It's part of the reason she remained behind as a ghost rather than moving on when she died; they were in the middle of a fight, and there were children to save, it was not an appropriate time to die. She rarely backs down from a challenge and will see her endeavors through to the end, even if she grows bored of them or starts to hate them halfway through.

- LIFETIME Miri was the youngest of three daughters born to a middle-class halfblood family living in Godric's Hollow. She grew up surrounded by magic, and was always fascinated by it. She grew quite fond of studying the practice of magic, how it worked and what it could and could not do. A clever girl, she was sorted into Ravenclaw upon entering Hogwarts, and showed herself to be an incredibly bright, talented, and responsible witch. Little did the professors know that their golden child had a secret devious streak; she enjoyed troublemaking and mischief, and always got away with it, with the professors none the wiser.
Thanks to her ability to keep her extracurriculars hidden, she was honored with the rank of prefect upon entering her fifth year. During the course of the year, she noticed two her her classmates, Madison "Leafie" Donovan of Slytherin and Beauregard Dante of Hufflepuff, not-so-subtly planning what she could tell would be an epic prank... if properly executed. However, due to their apparent inability to keep from being discovered, she doubted they would have the skill to pull it off. She, using her prefect title, reprimanded the two boys, very heavily emphasizing that they were being far too obvious in their endeavors. She then proceeded to watch the pair, very carefully, poking her nose into their business whenever they became too obvious. Eventually, she grew exasperated with them, and confessed that she hadn't really been trying to scold them, she'd wanted them to be sneakier, and helped the plan come to fruition. Over the course of this, she and Leafie developed a mutual crush, and the pair began dating, much to Beauregard's chagrin.
After graduation, Leafie and Beauregard were set on becoming Aurors; Miriam, being the most level-headed one of the group, felt obligated to follow the boys into their field of choice, to, quote, 'keep them from getting themselves killed like a pair of morons.' The three often tried to work together, though after Miriam and Leafie became engaged, they were usually kept separate by the department, who didn't want them getting emotional while working. Miriam was often stuck with Beauregard, who had never really grown to like her, namely because he thought she was a stick in the mud who ruined his and Leafie's fun. Regardless, the pair worked well together, and were incredibly loyal, if only for Leafie's benefit, as it would've hurt him to lose either of them. Sadly, this was exactly what happened when the village of Hogsmeade was attacked by a group of wannabe Death Eaters. The three were called in to help stop the attack and arrest the perpetrators, but all three would meet their end, in a manner of speaking. Beauregard gave his life to save Leafie and Miriam, but it was in vain; Leafie was mortally injured only moments later. Knowing that he would die but wanting to protect his fiancee, Leafie attempted to apparate to safety. Due to his injury, however, he was unable to focus properly, which resulted in his splinching Miriam, killing her.
POSTMORTEM Given that it happened so quickly, it isn't hard to understand why Miriam didn't move on properly; she had no time to realize she was dying, after all. More to the point, she was in the middle of some very important work, something she cared very deeply about, and couldn't let go. When the battle was over and the smoke cleared, she remained. Unable to allow herself to die, she hadn't moved on properly, and found that her spirit had stayed on the mortal plain as a ghost. Nowadays, she mostly haunts Hogsmeade village, trying to keep the now-vampire Leafie from getting himself killed.
