Finding a new home (Void x Yuuki PRP)

The sun was hiding behind the clouds and Yuuki wished that it would come out and shine just a bit to help make her search a bit easier. Still the possibility of rain later wasn’t a bad thing. She knew that an area that got enough rain meant fertile land and a good place to live. Angling her wings she caught an updraft and soared upward looking down over the landscape. She was trying to find a good home for she and Void to live at. A small shiver ran the base of her spine thinking of how she would have frozen to death without Void wrapping her up to help keep her warm and safe. She wanted a place not in the frigid and cold mountains but also large enough for them to live comfortably since it would be very hard for a full grown deava and phim to just live in a tiny little earthen den. Not only that but she wanted to have enough room for the treasures they both had accumulated so far and would no doubt continue to accumulate so long as they lived. The blankets that saved her life would of course have to have a nice safe place in their den. Still Yuuki didn’t want to just up and change Void’s way of life and comfort zone so she had started her search in a logical place, the foot of a mountain range. It was warmer at the lower altitude and there might be a good cave or two, but it wasn’t so cold as Void’s current home. So far she’d had little luck but she wasn’t going to give up. Void was willing to move for her so she wanted to find the perfect spot for them both.

Void finally awoke from his slumber. He wasn't a light sleeper so it wasn't difficult for Yuuki to come and go as she pleased without waking him. He shook the laziness from his joints and got up. "Yuuki, good morning." He waited for a response but none came. He squinted through his sleepy, foggy eyes. "Yuuki?" She wasn't there. She had been talking about finding a bigger den. He rolled his eyes. Of course he thought the den he had was sufficient. Then again, he figured didn't like the cold as much as he did. He supposed he could put up with it right? He'd rather her had wait for him, he knew these mountains pretty well and would have been able to help. He groaned to himself. He would have to track her down. With that he spread his wings and launched himself from the cave. The cold air waking him up more. He dove towards the earth, down the face of the mountains, pulling up before he hit the ground. He soared before landing and called out for Yuuki. He turned back and looked toward the mountain and became grumpy. Where did she even begin her search? He groaned again. He shrugged. Maybe he would hunt? Then she would have to look for him. "Yuuki!" He bellowed. If she didn't hear that she was deaf.

Yuuki hadn’t thought to wake Void up before she left to search. She wanted him to be proud of her finding something for them all on her own and hoped that it showed him that she only wanted to be with him but as she caught his voice on the wind yelling her name. He didn’t sound happy and that automatically made her tail pull up between her legs which wasn’t a smart thing seeing as she was flying. It caused her to go in to air somersaults which then had her yelping loudly and squawking out “VOID!” As she went over and over a couple times she finally had pulled her tail out and leveled out. Her heart was beating quite fast seeing as she had pretty much scared herself silly. She flapped her wings a couple times hovering in the air as her gaze searched for her mate.

She was starting to doubt that she had done the right thing and that made her just want to lie submissively at his feet. She kept blundering things and it was really starting to upset her let alone she knew that it upset him. “I’m landing at the base of the mountain Void,” She called up to the sky hoping he would hear her and that she was doing the right thing. But there was no way for her to stay up in the air with her worrying. When she worried she couldn’t concentrate on flying very well and thought it best to land. So down she went to sit at the base of the mountain and wait for Void. As the ground approached faster and faster she pumped her wings a couple times so that she kind of floated down. Once on the ground she pulled her wings so that they laid against her back and curled her tail around her paws to wait.

Out of the corner of his eye Void saw a tumbling whirl. What in the world was she doing? His ears twitched as she called back to him. At least she landed so he was able to find her easily. He let out a heavy sigh and descended, landing near her. "Are you okay? I saw the grand mid-air performance." He raised a brow and gave her a brief look over. All looked well at first glance but he at least wanted to make sure. He gave her a tender lick and nuzzle to show he wasn't nearly as upset as she thought he was. "You know... If you wanted to go explore on your own you could have just let me know." He fixed the scarf around her neck. "At least so I didn't have to worry and could look for you if you didn't show up after a while... or at least checked in." He gave her a smile. "What am I going to do with you?"

He looked around, the weather was wonderful and was perfect for home hunting. "So... What kind of place were you thinking about finding?" He would prefer to stay in the mountains but, if she wanted to be elsewhere he could at least try before dragging her back to the chills of the mountains. "It..." His muscled twitched a bit. "... doesn't have to be mountains. Did you have something in mind?" He was rather curious, even if he didn't quiet show it, where she rather be than where she was now. He too let his tail wrap around himself.

As Void landed next to her she dipped her head and blushed. He was fussing over her and while it embarrassed her some she all in all did like that he was. It showed that he cared not that he didn’t in other ways but she loved any and all expressions of affection. As he fixed her scarf she cleared her throat, “Why yes that was a certainly graceful performance was it not?” She was trying to make light of the situation. She was honestly fine. She had just rattled herself a little bit. Scrunching up her muzzle some she hadn’t thought to tell him that she was going out. Realistically it was the smart thing to do but she got so excited and ahead of herself it slipped her mind.

“I don’t mind the mountains but I would prefer not to be up so high where it is always cold,” She told him honestly. It was why she was thinking something about around the base of the mountain that way he still had his mountain but in the summer she would get that warmer sunlight that she could easily warm herself in. “Maybe something with a good water source nearby?” she pondered out loud.
