He'd lost a bet. He'd lost a bet. That's what he kept telling himself as he wandered over to the disused classroom set aside for the Socio-Cultural Anthropology. He'd bet a fellow Hallowe'ener that he could jump high enough to catch a bird in mid flight from the pond... and had failed absolutely miserably.

The result? Go take the class that was as boring and brutal as could be. Reading was boring, man, and it would put him to sleep! He hated the thought of having to sit still for extended lengths of time trying to decipher dry writing enough to commit something to memory.

Blargh.

Reading "My First Scaring"

A child's book, really? Dekana frowned at the soft cover book in his hands, the big floppy pages colourfully illustrated with surprisingly good art. It was a quick read and the guidance notes seemed to pick up on some very adult themes in the book as he compared story to art.

It was.... almost interesting.

The dangerous nature of that thought struck him hard and he closed the book, deciding that the way the ape-girl was emphasized was enough of a take-away.

Reading "Flylight"

Dekana looked at the teen romance in his hands with distaste. It was required reading but he didn't understand why! Dutifully, he tried to read the text but it was so dull and uninteresting that every time he picked it up, he was asleep within a few pages of starting.

Eventually, he just decided to skip the book entirely.

Reading "Bigfoot Burlesque"

He'd heard of burlesque but had never even considered the possibility of bigfoot people doing it... the sheer strangeness of this book caught his attention and he grew lost in its pages, fascinated by the author's obvious obsession with hairy women. It was positively bizarre and far closer to the 'learn of other cultures' goal the class seemed to profess than the other two books.

Reading "In Stitches"

This was, perhaps, even dryer reading than the Flylight tripe he'd picked up earlier! Dekana had no idea there were so many different kinds of patchwork undead but he also didn't really care about the classification and comparison of undead folk either... the only intriguing bit he managed to glean from the extremely dry glorified list was that there was some sort of relationship among the authors of this and the previous books.
