APEX PETS AND YOU

An Apex Pet is classified by several categories

gaia_star All Apex pets come from Miasma Village. Your character can visit Miasma Village through any portal in Halloween town. It is simply a small village on the mountains with an inordinate amount of stables, who specialize in breeding and raising Apex minipets.

gaia_star Apex pets are minipets bred through generations to be larger, stronger, oversized versions of their counterparts. Their sole purpose through breeding and Fear manipulation, is to carry their owners as means of transportation. Miasma village is the only place in Halloween that has perfected the art of Apex pet transporation (riding). This is and will be the only form of obtainable alternate mounts available for students/citizens/horsemen.

gaia_star Apex pets behave otherwise like normal minipets. They have semi-intelligent capabilities and quirks and characteristics dependent on their species. They can come in different colours, some rarer than others.

gaia_star Apex pets are relatively newly introduced to most of Halloween, as Miasma Village has always been shy about sharing its findings. Thanks to a recent venture, Apex pets have opened their ways to Halloween for the first time!

gaia_star Due to their size, Apex pets are not allowed inside most buildings in Halloween, and follow the same rules as reapers with large familiars/ characters with large natural forms when it comes to mechanics. They cannot be summoned into battle. They can only be used as means of vanity and transportation

gaia_star All Apex pets have excellent movement capabilities. They are able to immediately fly/burrow/run back to Miasma village via the closest portal leading to the village, and find their way to the stables located there. All Apex pets rest at the Miasma Village stables (their owners can visit them at any time), accessible through any local town portal. They will rest there when they are too tired, and like true riding animals, when they are dismissed, will fly/run/etc back to their stables to await further instructions.

gaia_star Apex pets CAN dissipate! When they do, they appear back at the stables.

gaia_star Each character is allotted a stable with a max number of stalls. That means icly, EACH CHARACTER IS ALLOWED 10 APEX PETS MAX FOR Y1 (Y1 horseman), and 25 FOR Y2/Y3/ (final stage horseman). If you have too many and wish to abandon one, you literally have to RP releasing it back into the wild. They cannot be sold/gifted to other characters.

gaia_star You can only summon/ride ONE Apex pet at a time. If you swap, the previous one will return to the stables.

gaia_star Apex pets are obtainable RP ONLY through GM special events. They will also show up in your student online journal if you own any and also have a minis account here!

gaia_star Apex pets CANNOT BE traded. Do not do this under any circumstances whatsoever!

Special ability: Can travel at a steady pace, its hard skin allows it to move through almost every type of terrain.
Flying: Cannot fly.

Temper: Extremely patient. Likes to sleep and burrow in hot sands. When shy, it will tuck its head in its shell.

Size: 4-6 feet
Weight capacity: 1 person max.
Speed: Medium
Weight: Moderate (120-150 lbs)
Special ability: Are extremely sturdy and can carry up to 3x their weight. Are good at traveling through rugged and mountainous terrain.
Flying: Cannot fly.
Teleportation: Teleports from Miasma Village to Halloween Town only through portals.
Temper: Slightly aggressive. More aggressive mounts of this type like to butt heads with each other.

Size: 5-7 feet
Weight capacity: 1 person max.
Speed: Fast
Weight: Moderate (100-160 lbs)
Special ability: Mistwolves are large wolf-like creatures that have incredible endurance. They are known for their keen sense of smell and ability to track things down.
Flying: Cannot fly.
Teleportation: Teleports from Miasma Village to Halloween Town only through portals.
Temper: Loyal. This canine will defend you against all extreme situations to the best of its abilities.

Weight: Light (30 - 50 lbs)
Special ability: Spiderlings due to their incredible Fear exoskeleton can carry up to 10x their weight. They are also spinners, able to create impromptu bridges and bindings to traveler longer distances.
Flying: Cannot fly.
Teleportation: Teleports from Miasma Village to Halloween Town only through portals.
Temper: Fickle. Sometimes you are the owner, and sometimes you are food (and will be wrapped up and treated as so until you teach it some manners)

gaia_crown [ Greater Feline ]

Rarity: Common
Size: 8- 10 feet

Speed: Fast
Weight: Medium (100 - 200 lbs)
Special ability: Greater feline have exotic pelts that are valued in many Miasma village pet shows. They spend hours a day grooming this pelt. This makes them also waterproof, and surprisingly, very good swimmers.
Flying: Cannot fly.
Teleportation: Teleports from Miasma Village to Halloween Town only through portals.
Temper: Predatory. It will often bring dead minipets to your front door to show how amazing it is being if given the chance.

Size: 10 - 15 feet

Speed: Fast (water)/ Slow (land)
Weight: Medium/Heavy (150 - 250 lbs)
Special ability: Seapents are first and foremost water travellers, able to swim long distances underwater. They can also glide in sand, though they move slowly on land.
Flying: Cannot fly.
Teleportation: Teleports from Miasma Village to Halloween Town only through portals.
Temper: Dependent. Likes being next to you and helping out. Enjoys being summoned and spending time with its owners.

Rarity: Common
Size: 8 - 12 feet

Speed: Medium (Relative walking speed)
Weight: Medium (150 - 250 lbs)
Special ability: Evolved from their cousins the scareons, these apex eons have been trained and bred specifically to become rather larger beasts of burden. Loyal and obedient, like a very large sheepdog, they can obey basic commands, and are often seen waiting at doors or playing around at home instead of returning to their stables (which they don't like as much!) They enjoy company and warmth. The common variant of scareon has been trained however, to only follow the "sit" and "go" command.
Flying: Cannot fly.
Teleportation: Teleports from Miasma Village to Halloween Town only through portals.
Temper: Obedient. Will always obey commands (only if it is trained to understand it!)

UNCOMMON

gaia_crown [ Bladed Wyvern ]

Rarity: Uncommon
Size: 10 - 18 feet
Weight capacity: 1 person max.
Speed: Fast (flying).
Weight: Medium/Heavy (150 - 250 lbs)
Special ability: Bladed Wyverns utter a shrill noise to signal to others that it is around. It has extremely talented aerobatic abilities that give it the nickname, the pest of the sky, as its talons are fashioned to be able to drop from the sky and attack other flying creatures.
Flying: Yes
Teleportation: Teleports from Miasma Village to Halloween Town only through portals.
Temper: Tiresome. This high energy creature is hard to wear out and will often fly circles and screech loudly. Will often be accidentally summoned instead of the mount you are trying to summon.

Rarity: Uncommon
Size: 8- 12 feet

Rarity: Rare
Size: 12 - 18 feet
Weight capacity: 1 person max.
Speed: Fast (flying).
Weight: Heavy (250- 300 lbs)
Special ability: Can temporarily turn invisible, and that includes you riding on it. This will elude you from detection from anyone who is NOT in their final stage of growth. The invisibility only lasts as long as you are mounted on it, unfortunately being invisible does not mean it doesn't make noise/sound/ cannot fit in small doors.
Flying: Yes
Teleportation: Teleports from Miasma Village to Halloween Town only through portals.
Temper: Fickle. Likes to eat everything it sees by absorbing it with its long tongue.

Weight: Medium (150 -250 lbs)
Special ability: Because it is invincible, you cannot see it. Ever. It's corporeal form is however, relatively heavy, and if it were possible to see, would have hundreds of spines coming out of its mane and tail (and thorns). Considered extremely rare because if disobedient, you will lose this mount forever.

Temper: Makes a lot of noise that gives away it's area. Whinnies a lot. Likes to run around. Rambunctious.

Rarity: Rare
Size: 10 feet

Weight: Medium (150 -250 lbs)
Special ability: This mount is virtually indestructible. It will not be dissipated even in the hardiest of situations, though it might run away if it gets mistreated/takes too much damage! Being made entirely from vines, it can dissolve when taking too much damage and reform into vine form again. The flowers that bloom from its body can also be used for love potions (whether this is true or not has to be yet tested)

Special ability: Evolved from their cousins the scareons, these apex eons have been trained and bred specifically to become rather larger beasts of burden. They enjoy company and warmth. The "blue blood" variant was apparently descended from the greatest Miasma Village family line. They are relatively intelligent, able to understand words a very young scareling may understand, and able to follow very basic commands (basically, like a human dog!)

Weight: Light/Medium (120 - 200 lbs)
Special ability: This exclusive minipet can automatically teleport you to the town of Joy. If you use this pet and RP in Xmasland (the town of Joy), add these status effects:
- It is always snowing frosting
- You can only go to Gingerbread Lake, a lake made entirely out of gingerbread, frostings, and ice crystals. Everything there is candy, and edible, and there are gingerbread houses everywhere.
- Occasional elves might see you and run, dropping their little gifts they were making for Humans (toys). These toys will dissolve if taken directly back to Halloween
- You are immediately under the Joy status effect, making your character EXTREMELY HAPPY
- Sometimes accidentally teleports you to the reception office in the Land of Lights, which is less Joy-influenced and full of gremlins that try to shoo you away from their reception food.

gaia_star These are a list of Apex pets that are considered unique to the student who found it. While they might have been tamed at Miasma Village, these Apex mounts share a heritage root with the student or horseman that found them.

gaia_star OOC: If you win a CUSTOM APEX MOUNT (otherwise unobtainable) you will be listed here, and the tagging for it will be UNIQUE. When redeeming in a custom apex mount make sure you ICly also write a reason as to how and why your student discovered this!
