Well, at least he hadn't totally bombed his time at Amityville so far, even if Vaudrey had gotten lost quite a few times (not that he'd ever admit to this). He'd made some new acquaintances, finally figured out where his dorm room was, unpacked at least somewhat (aka one thing had been taken out of his trunks so far, the rest just left exactly where they were), bonded with some of his new minipets, and called his cousin Ren to let him know how everything had gone.

And now, Vaudrey was doing an excellent job of perusing the school grounds, if he did say so himself - and he did - and may or may not have also been lost yet again, but since he wasn't about to say this out loud, he was simply puffed up impressively to look as though he knew exactly where he was going.

After going around in circles for approximately ten minutes, however, and winding up back at the same place, Vaudrey decided that maybe his strategy needed a bit of reworking. Like, for instance, not running into walls every way he turned.

The one thing that the dragon boil definitely shared with Vaudrey is that the two had both spent their initial days at Amityville being in an near-perpetual state of lost. This fact particularly irked Treoris and left him in a state that was a decent fraction closer to true irritation than his normal moods. By all rights, in his mind, he ought to have a far better grasp on the layout of his new campus by this point. It was an affront to his pride.

The fact that he’d managed to lose his way today was burning away at the blond’s lengthy fuse at an accelerated rate; this only evident in the white-knuckled way he was clutching his paperback novel, and that the claws on his wings were curled into irate little balls of dragon-hide. All he’d wanted to do was get to the cafeteria, find a spot in a corner, and nibble on something whilst he read. Possibly even take some of said sustenance BACK to his room if it proved too crowded.

The only upside to this was that there didn’t appear to be any creeple around…for the moment.

Which even if he’d wanted to – which he didn’t – he couldn’t have asked anyone for directions.

Growling, more at himself than anything else, he very violently slashed his book through the air as though by doing so he could dissipate his current woes.

Clenched fingers, to add to his mismanagement of today, did not have as firm a grasp on the tome as he’d thought.

It went flying through the air.

And of course, went sailing with righteous force…right in the direction of the similarly misrouted Vaudrey…whose timing was merely coincidentally unfortunate.

Ren had given Vaudrey a map of the Amityville campus before he'd come, drawn entirely by himself as a method to help integrate him properly into the school and its surroundings. The problem, however, was that Ren was not exactly the most...talented of artists, and the map was comprised of a series of squiggles and twisted lines and arrows that didn't actually make a whole lot of sense when one looked at it long enough.

Which was probably why Vaudrey was wandering around looking as woeful as he was, clutching his map between his taloned fingers and looking up every so now and then to try and gauge where the Jack he was. Several students passed him by on his way, but Vaudrey stopped none of them to actually ask where he was going, because,

a) That would have been embarrassing to admit that he didn't know where he was going, and;

b) He was supposed to be setting a good example and being confident in himself like a proper boil should be!

Vaudrey wandered aimlessly around for a few more minutes. The minutes stretched into more minutes, which stretched into almost twenty, and maybe he probably should ask someone for help right about now. He turned a corner, map still held up in front of his face, so that neither boil sadly saw where they were going.

He smacked straight into him just as the other crashed into him, and Vaudrey went skating backwards, stumbling around awkwardly, a squawk escaping as he fell to the ground in a flutter of wings.
