Patrick was happy with Saeki’s response to their potential marital status in the future. He placed the bag next to him and let Hiro and Emerald collect the candy pieces off the ground for him. He thought it was more entertaining seeing cats do that instead of a grown man lowering himself to the ground to pick up any thrown out candy. He had trained them on the side to fetch for one of these particular situations. For any held out free stuff he accepted with his free hand. He was satisfied with the turnout of their first Christmas parade viewing. The public display of intimacy of his boyfriend embracing his arm and his head on his head made him feel overjoyed. Too bad it would make walking difficult during the stroll Saeki agreed to. Sucked on some couple of pieces of peppermint candy during the rest of their outing. He would like to do more dates and outings like that in the future. Once he was back home he rechecked with Kenzie to make sure he would be arriving late at night tomorrow for Hiro's party.

Patrick woke up feeling sweaty then cooled off when he went out to do his daily exercise routine. The kittens pounced on him as soon as he had returned home, “Hey you two. Hiro and Emerald, you both sure are energetic today” he said laughing a little. “No problem, today’s outing should help with shedding more of that energy of yours” he proclaimed. The furry felines meowed in unison about going outside today. He was going to invite Saeki too, of course and what he had in mind was attending a tree lighting in a different city. Not the same one from last time and it was in a different direction. He dialed Saeki’s phone number on this cold Tuesday morning and started getting ready for a quick shower after feeding Hiro and Emerald. He had checked on the store on the way back from his jog and things were going smoother even with the last minute shoppers coming in. This is one of the most busiest time of the year especially with a lot of people flying in from out of town like with thanksgiving.

It was yet another crispy day. Winter sure came fast here. Saeki had already been up for a while as he did his morning jog with Aki as usual and when he got home he had made breakfast for them both before he went to take a shower while his dog was entertaining themselves with their toys while his owner was out of the room. The shower itself didn’t take so long, but drying was always tougher with his long hair. When he was done and finally managed to dry his hair and brush it, he was about to put a ponytail in like he often had, but then he stopped and decided to leave it loose. The young Asian walked back to his living room to check on Aki and call Patrick when he heard his mobile go off. A gentle smile played over his lips with the familiar ringtone and he picked up without checking caller ID.

"Good Morning my love. I was about to call you myself. How did you sleep?" A smile stayed on his features and he petted Aki over his head before moving to the kitchen to make some tea while he talked with his boyfriend. The swordsman was also thinking of ways to surprise Patrick as much as they always surprised him. Like places to go and maybe stay for a while. He had found a few options but was still fine tuning his ideas. Of course he also had to keep in mind the working hours of Patrick and when they would be free.

Patrick set his phone to the speaker as soon as he heard his boyfriend’s voice. “Well enough” he responded about the quality of his sleep. “How about you?” he asked in return. He grabbed a towel closet then he turned on the water for it to warm up. “I was calling to invite you and Aki to a tree lighting event. Departure time will be four in the afternoon” he said as he turned the water towards cool. He set the phone down on the sink counter then stepped into the water and his hot body cooled off a little. “Are you ready for the role as a host for Hiro’s party tomorrow?” he asked him and spoke loud enough to be heard over the running water. He lathered up while he listened for a response from his boyfriend to the question. Once the phone call is over he would let Saeki hang up or the conversation lasts long enough for him to finish his quick shower.

"That is good to hear. I slept well too." he replied and then listened to Patrick’s proposal. It wasn’t something he had heard about before. "A tree lighting? I wasn’t aware they had full on events for that." he replied slightly surprised. Though he could guess it had perhaps something to do with the lights in the tree going on. "I’d love to see that. And going there with you will be even better." The young man listened to the time and smiled. It was a good thing he hadn’t made any other plans yet for this day. "Alright, we’ll be with you before that so we have plenty of time." he said as he turned to look at Aki who was laying on the floor with his eyes on his owner. They spoke a bit more before hanging up and Saeki took the rest of the time to get ready. He made some bento for the both of them and pet snacks for along the way before he left his house, locked it and went to meet with Patrick at his home. It was around three in the afternoon when he knocked on the door and waited with Aki until his boyfriend opened it.

“Doesn’t happen everywhere, just in cities that have a large tree to put for the public” Patrick explained. He wasn’t sure if this city had it, but events like this typically happen earlier in this month. Luckily he found nearby cities that hadn’t done it yet. Constantly inviting his boyfriend out whenever there was freetime on his schedule could be his way of keeping his boyfriend interested in the relationship and him as a person, but he would deny it ever being such insecure reasons nor overcompensating for something to that degree. “Maybe we could tour some house lights on foot afterwards. Something couples and families do after dark” he exclaimed at the end of the phone call. He had finished showering then drying off not long afterwards and made sure the previous phone call had ended. Called a taxi service from his contact list to schedule their pick up from his address. He wasn’t trying to be reliant on cabs, but it was convenient and didn’t want to take a chance on shared ride services. Also inexpensive since the destinations have been close by. Opened the door as soon as he heard the knocking from the living room then noticed the felines raced to the door. He picked up the sweater wearing cats before opening the door. “Just in time” he said for both the Saeki duo and the taxi cab slowing to a stop at the end of the walkway. While holding the cats in one arm he grabbed his coat and Emerald’s harness off the coat rack by the front door then stepped outside to get in the taxi cab with Saeki.

Patrick had been neglecting work a little lately to spend more time with his boyfriend. Gave him the spare key yesterday so he is free to drop by if he wants to. Today was going on as normal and he got ready for work. He decided to hold off on calling his boyfriend until he was halfway to the store. So for now he went on with the rest of the morning routine and made sure his cats were doing well before leaving. He checked the forecast on his phone then paid attention to where he was going afterwards. He felt that he was being watched, but after a moment chopped up to being overly sensitive to his surroundings. Didn’t think anyone would be stalking him because no one has ever obsessed over him before. His boyfriend, sure, with how sexy and great of a person he is, but as for himself no. [exit]
