Quiet & Calm Under Stress - Having a go with the flow type of mindset, it takes a great deal to rile this character up beyond his usual hype. Generally the more tense the situation, the more likely he is to pipe down and actually focus; allowing him to look at things in a calm and somewhat collected manner.
Athletic/Endurance - Though difficult to rouse from sleep, once fully awake, there's no sitting still until its time to crash. So naturally, it isn't surprising that he channels most of that energy into sports and while he's open to suggestion and participates in varying sports, his preferred sport is running.
Doesn't know when to quit - Whether its something as light as poking fun at someone, or something as concerning as pressing for details/information, Rook will often miss warning signs, or blatantly ignore them, and take it a step too far. The repercussion of his actions are usually well deserved.
Short Attention Span - The favoured excuse for his poor grades is his inability to focus. Unless its something of interest, Rook doesn't care. Don't give him any long winded and detailed instructions if you expect something to actually come of it. Simple and to the point is the way to speak to this idiot.

Tear it all Down - Salem has no love for anything and would sooner see others brutally murdered before helping them. He has no desire to protect anything and only grudgingly works with Rook in order to avoid being deactivated once again.
The Silence is Deafening - Unlike Rook, Salem is almost always silent. He rarely speaks and when he does you'd rather he hadn't.
Incurable Rage - Though Salem hardly ever speaks there is a deep seated rage ever present in the back of Rook's mind, radiating from the bond between himself and his weapon.
Weapon Ability - War Path ( Gamblers Chance ) - Once charged, Rook's weapon will fire a massive blast of dark energy and murderous intent. The attack is powerful, but difficult to control and due to the strength behind the blast it can and will inflict damage on its user.

DAY ZERO META
Having survived the events of Day Zero and being rescued by the 'white coats,' Rook, having no where else to go and his family presumed dead, followed his friends of the university faction and joined Deus Ex.
While he's always noticed the somewhat vague presence of shadowy beings around him, it was only after the events of Day Zero that things progressed to the point that he couldn't block them out and ignore them any longer.
