Sweet Sinnamon Roll
Too evil, Too impure for this world.

As some would know, a good breakfast is the key start to a great day. Or night, depending on at what time your 'day' began. And with the season for Sinnamon Spice in the air, a traditional holiday pastry is making the rounds.
Literally.
However with such a high demand, (and often a high price tag!) its just cheaper and often easier to make some for yourself at home. Or well, in Home Wreckonomics. The school has opened up small bake sessions in the spirit of the season anyone and everyone can bake their favorite holiday classic. But to those who make the oh so tasty Sinnamon rolls? Well.

You can make some serious dough off of those.

Thankfully, armed with the spice rack's unlimited back pepper, you can do an additional +2 damage with each hit.

gaia_diamond LEARNED ABILITY: Sweet Sinnamon-
By the infusion of evilly delicious spices, you student can now outside of battle, make any food they touch palatable and vaguely taste like there is a bit of a sweet kick to it. In battle they just smell good. Which is nice if they start to get a bit sweaty I suppose.

UGH.

Mahlan started the day with some...difficulties. Drier than usual bark, no sap production and reddening leaves. Oh, not to mention her petals refused to open. This is like, Fall all over.

At the small table in the center of the room was a small pipette-more easily known as a dropper, filled with almost clear but ever-so-slightly tinted brown liquid. It was extra diluted form of 'Uprooter' which she, on drunken fervor from drinking the same cocktail in undiluted form, decided was a good choice to make.

"I'd....never use that again on my actual body. Never." Even if the pumpkin-spiced liquid fertilizer was good, the after-effect was disastrous. Mahlan was put on 'shedding' cycle, like a plant in Autumn season; and since it affects her REAL body instead of the pseudo-generated FEAR body, it can cause serious damage if untreated.

So Mahlan took several hours in the morning replacing the soil on the pot with a fresh soil, meanwhile she channeled FEAR to expel the solution out in form of a strangely-red colored sap drop.

Those action tires out Mahlan, and so she explored the creepiteria for some grub...

Hmm?
As she was lining up for ordering the ever-so-popular Sinnamon Rolls, a small group of student was chattering about something-apparently there was something about a baking class going on the Home Wreckonomics room.

Well, if you can make something...and sell it for profit why shouldn't she?

The class was a self-thought lesson, it seems. Since there's nobody that looked like a lecturer inside the classroom, and there's instructions written on the board on how to make the pastry. There's already some students mixing things and started baking---

Okay, why the heck there's some gnomes in the class? And why are the students are battling those gnomes?
Meh, it wasn't her business. Or actually, she doesn't wanna think in 'tis state.

Okaaaaay, so according to the instructions, she would need to gather some things...

Flour of any kinds, eggs of any kinds, sugar of any variety, baking powder of non-ghoul kind, some rum of non-pirate kind, milk of any kind except Minotaur ones, and some other things-

But the most important thing is a dried-up bark from a native plant of this world; scent sweet as sin itself, but with a high concentration it became as bitter as aforementioned. Sinnamon.

Okay, she remembered the ingredients, so the next step was finding it and mixing it.

Where should she start seeking? The pantry...was already empty; probably raided by the earlier group of students. The cupboards are too empty...

A giggling was then heard from behind her; a gnome-no, a small army of gnomes was marching on with ingredients in their hand, scurrying away as students realized the gnomes took the needed things---kay, so she needs to give those critters a beating later.

The fridge...no, there's wasn't anything from the recipe inside it. Quite funny, since the fridge was filled to the brim. Since it was the gnomes' work, and they know that they can't actually get the completed Sinnamon Rolls if they keep stealing the ingredients away, the gnomes should have hidden the things nearby for the students to find them later...

-so, she should look even harder. But where?
The trashcan looks suspicious, but...

The 'empty' pantry, by far is more suspicious. There's literally hundreds of students attending this academy, and it was not a great academy in name only. She knew this from the plants which kept being treated even far from the main building.

So it was not possible to get the pantry empty from this class alone. pushing the fake wall over, Mahlan discovered everything she needed to make a Sinnamon Roll!

She get the needed things, now is the time of baking. She sifted the flour and put it aside, took apart some whites from the yolk, beat the whites until it rises, again beat the milk into whipped cream, mixed it with ground sugar, mixed the flour with the eggs, kneaded it into lump of dough, letting it rise, mixing the fresh cream with the eggs, mixed in the butter inside the dough while rolling it flat...

And the finale. She took the fresh Sinnamon and put it into an oven to dehydrate it slightly. After it has dried enough, Mahlan took out a sharqskin grater and made a fine powder.

As the bitterness of the Sinnamon will corrupt the rolls if they are mixed too early into the dough, it MUST be added as the last ingredient just before baking. Well, that's the real challenge of the recipe; since the taste of the powder will randomly change from sweet to bitter even with the same amount, much skill are needed to carefully measure the Sinnamon.

"BUT NOWADAYS! We have this easy-to-use Sinnabon dough measuring ladle! Now you can tell how sweet-or-bitter your rolls will be! Please keep it below 7 since higher will be awfully bitter." Mahlan recalled the commercial, now stirring the dough while putting some Sinnamon powder in---

BEEEP. The artifact lets out a beep; that means she put too much Sinnamon on the dough...shoot.

Since the mix was too bitter to be palatable, she tossed everything for the gnomes to eat. Hey, at least those critters are not picky.

Well, time to start over. There's still some ingredients left on the table...

...on the table...

-there was nothing left. How can it be!? She made sure she left some-oh frick, must be those gnomes again. Well, they got her good, and the rest of the ingredients must be already hidden somewhere when she doesn't pay attention.

Now, where could those items could be. The recycle box? Although, who in their sane mind put a recycle box in a Home-EC class? Was it one of those 'the staff ate the dish in relish afterwards' policy? Ew?

Oh wait. She knew this smell...punching down on the cooking table with her fist, Mahlan scared out a gnome holding a Sinnamon stick. After kicking the pest away, she got the main ingredient-well since she has this already she can just extort ask other student to share their dough, can't she?

*devilish grin*

Okay, she succeeded in getting some raw dough...the quality of the mix is a little low due to the maker's incompetence; the flour hasn't been sifted, the sugar is thrown as-is, the milk haven't creamed, the egg whites are still runny...

She doesn't believe this can even be baked well. Oh well, it's what she wanted, anyway. Time to give those pesky gnomes...a bit of a lesson.

A handful of glitterdust. Another handful of glitterglue. And finished with a pack of fresh glitter from Desu-tan! Mixing in the 'extra' ingredients into the batter, she makes sure nobody looked at her when she added those things. Oh, and few drops of the Uprooter! Fortunately she brought an undiluted vial of it...for reasons.

And for the finale: she shaved down the whole stick of Sinnamon into the mix, making the glitter instantly lost their...well, glitter.

"Oh, 'tis won't do." She muttered with accent, making a show to behold. As soon as she turned her back (purposely), the gnomes grabbed the mixing bowl and ate the batter...

Their reaction was somehow funny.

"Like it? That's mah' special recipe. Now SCRAM!"

Okay, that should take care of the gnomes for a little while.
Now back to baking! With the small menaces gone, she just need a quick stop at the fridge and the pantry to get all the needed items...she blocked the cupboard on the way, sealing some gnomes in-serves you right.

Dood.
This is even blacker than black, what the heck happened.

Turning back the security tape for a few minutes back was not a simple job, not even for the Tsukumogami she smuggled in brought at the weekends to confirm what happened back then.

"Oh, this is the record from that time." Said the boil sitting beside her. In his hands was a portable video player and an USB containing...err, stolen security data.

The video on the screen played, showing Mahlan's doing stuff like breaking the cockatrice eggs, sifting some flour, beating up the egg whites...

"-nothing unusual here. Let's make it 1.5 times faster." Said Rei uninterestedly, poking at the controls. "Noooononono stop that! There! Zoom it please!"

The boil sighed and pressed the rewind button, changed the video to display frame-by-frame...

And there it was.

"...wat. A flying gnome?" He giggled looking at the object briefly passing Mahlan's mixing bowl. A gnome with paper wings jumped from the top of the cupboard when she placed the dough and not looking, dropping down what looks like finely ground something on it.

"THOSEEEEEEE BASTAAAAAAAAAARDSSSSS!!!" Yelled Mah, her tail rising "IMMA TIE 'EM UP AND BURY THEM BENEATH THE FORBIDDEN ZONE!" "Eyy, before you do that-" "-HERE!"

Without looking back, the plant spirit tossed a crumpled brown bag to Rei. Inside it was a perfectly made Sinnamon Roll with 7 sin points; a perfect balance between sweetness and bitterness.

-although it made you feel like choking on it. Well, it's a good food for dieting, actually.

"Well then Saul, time to get your abs done." He muttered, taking the pastry to a certain Goodman.

That's strange; how come that batch comes out like that? She had a hunch that the now-giggling gnomes has something to do with it, but without proof it will only be pure one-sided beatdown.

Hrmm. There's a security camera on the ceiling pointing on her-

"I'm gonna bribe that technofreak later." Said Mahlan, smiling. Now then, back to the task at hand; taking some more ingredients from fridge's back rows, and some fresh Sinnamon she started another baking session.

If she wanted to bribe him, she needed to at least make a passable Sweet Sinnamon roll.

"Hmm-hmm-hmm-hmmm emotion_c8 " While humming, Mahlan mixed and mixed, performed one task after another, creating another base dough like the first one.

So far the preparation is complete. What she needs to do now is to mix the Sinnamon---how many would she need to put inside? Should she put it using only gut feelings, there's almost 100% chance that the resulting Roll will be bitter like before.

Wait.
The ladle measured how many Sin points the dough has, right? If it has the ability to do that...

-why shouldn't it NOT be able to measure Sin points from the raw Sinnamon? Well, there's no reason not to try. This time, using a piece of paper as a dropper to disperse the Sinnamon powder she carefully put a small piece of dough on the measuring spoon, and sprinkled the Sinnamon powder...

Beep. Beep. Beep. The meter on the ladle continued to rise, at times slow, at times fast; She stopped adding the powdered bark when it hits the number seven.

The perfect balance of sweetness and bitterness of sin. The number of the Original Sins---coincidence? No, is it precisely because of that? Nah, there's no time to time to do that; now that she has known the perfect way to create a perfect Sinnamon Roll, she has no reason to make another failure...

Oh right, what should she do with this batch? It's a completed one, yet the taste is a bit too strong for regular consumption. Nobody will want to take another bite from it because a single bite will fulfill them so.

---oh wait. That means... "It's a perfect meal for dieting, right?"

Okay, the perfect dough has been secured. Now she just need to gather ingredients for one more batch...this time since she has know how to measure the Sinnamon powder perfectly.

Looking around, there seemed no other students that has figured how to...creatively use the measuring ladle like her. Kay time to scourge up...

She checked around and found nothing at the pantry; that's normal because there's like, a flood of people grabbing things; it seems they're just recently joined the class. Augh, this is why newbies are...

Alright, time to get serious. They being newbies means the new influx of students doesn't know about the gnomes' doing. Then~

Sneaking around the swarm, Mahlan waited until somebody checked the fridge and butted them aside, taking the hidden stash of ingredients at the backside of the box. She got the eggs, butter and the milk- After that, she tailed another student checking the seemingly empty pantry and knocked her over, taking the flour and sugar from the hidden compartment while everybody else's attention was shifted to the victim.

"Yep, got all ingredients right here." Mahlan grinned in victory. Now she just need some space to make some Sinnamon Rolls-should she make it sweet? Or slightly bitter?

Dough...complete. She just needed to put the Sinnamon in...inconspicuously. Based on the her experiences, the sweetness (and bitterness) of the bark will change depending many factors; how high it was dropped from, how much it was clumped together, how fine it was ground, the degree of dryness--- there's too much variable surrounding the ingredient, the very reason Sinnamon rolls are usually only made by the masters of the baking trade.

But how many of those masters know how to measure Sinnamon using the ladle? Maybe half? Or less?

Well it wasn't her problem-

"AH!" She yelled, pointing at something outside the window. Almost every student turned their eyes to the direction; and that's her cue to mix in the Sinnamon. Since there's a time lag between the measurement and the mixing, there's a risk of degradation of the taste, so she put less-

The ladle measured the Sin level at 3; not too sweet, but also not bitter. It's perfect balance of sweet and bitter, also the taste is not that fulfilling; instead it was fit for consumption on large amounts-

-put it frankly, these Sinnamons are guaranteed to make you crave more. Ayup, this will do.

The dough all shaped and cut-up into shape, ready for baking; Mahlan arranged the rolls into a steel tray and looked at the preheated oven; 250 degrees for 20 minutes will do.

Clank. The glass-iron hatch was closed, but as soon as the heat makes contact with the Sinnamon powder, an exquisite aroma filled the whole classroom, making the other students stopped moving their hand to get another whiff-

"Acha!" "Ucha!" "Whocha!"
Suddenly, three dwarves jumped on the table, taking a pose. "Popper ya!" "Artichokie yo!" "Snapies ho!" The three exclaimed, striking another pose.

"What are ya want." Groaned Mahlan, already taking off her apron. "We smell delishus Rolls here!" "Give up the Rolls!" "We're taking it!"

*snap*

"Hooooo. So ye guys still has the ******** trunk 'ta try and rob me?" She grumbled out the sentence in low groans. The surrounding students who knew the rumor of the Plant Spirit's...ferociousness or those who knew it from first-hand experience instantly backed off.

"Ew, face, scary!" "Crazy lady!" "Begone!"
One of the dwarf took an egg and tossed it to Mahlan.

"So you guys started it...you started right? Then it's a legit self-defense."
Saying that, she took a fresh Sinnamon stick into her hand- infusing the bark with her FEAR, it transformed into a club-

THWACK!

One nearest dwarf was smacked away to the spice rack, breaking them in process. It emerges while sneezing like crazy-

"WHOOOOOO'SSSS NEXTTTTT."

*gulp*, the two remaining dwarf shivered with fear.
