[Sweet Sinnamon Roll] - (Bastion)

[Nio Love]

A cooking class seemed like a fruitful way to use up his time. Bastion was set to try and learn the craft better, and perhaps pick up a few tips, but the smell in the air was more than he thought he could bear. He breathed through his mouth for the remainder of the class, and attempted his best shot.

His first task was to find the ingredients. It seemed a little childish to force him to find them himself, but he did not complain; he diligently searched in the cupboards, finding nothing of use. He was more successful in the pantry and refridgerator, both of which managed to find him arms full of ingredients and ready to cook.

The important ingredient was the one that had the strongest scent; sinnamon scale. He held his breath as he knocked the canister over gently, adding a few here and there - but his hand slipped, and he added a bit too much.

It was time to try again.

Another failed attempt occurred because it was too difficult for him to see the exact amount he was adding, when his eyes were partially covered by the hand that had found itself on his face, trying to cover his nose and mouth. The smell was starting to seep in, and it even made his eyes water a little. He had to start over, and before he could, he went to get a few gulps of fresh air from outside of the room before returning to start anew.

He was refreshed, and able to add the scales without holding his hand in front of his face, so when he added the sinnamon scale, he was extremely careful about adding just the right amount.

Perfect! Now he could breathe again.

Placing the buns into the oven, he heaved a sigh of relief, and let them bake. At least this was a more pleasant smell - the sinnamon was subtle while baking, covered with the more common smell of freshly baking pastries.

This smell attracted unwanted attention.

Three horribly rude little gnomes began to attack Bastion, and before he could calm then down with the promise that he would share, they became vicious and attempted to knock him out. His scimitar formed itself in his hands, and he waved it violently at the three of them.

"Have at thee, scoundrels!" He yelled, knocking one clear across the room.

"You should learn some better manners!" He roared at a second, as he knocked him over to his friend.

He found the third unwilling to back off after he'd dispatched his friends, and he used the butt of his scimitar to knock him right on the head, laying him flat on the ground with the force of the hit.

"All of this evil just for a bit of baked sweetness? Are you gnomes really so desperate?"

They stood, charging him as a trio. It would seem they refused to relent, even when the cause was so hopeless, and so silly. So Bastion pushed aside the one that arrived first, slicing him viciously with the scimitar until he dissipated right in mid air in front of him.

"There now! See what you've made me do! Stop this nonsense before you share his fate!"

They did not stop this nonsense. They would definitely share his fate.

Bastion slashed at the second gnome, and it disappeared in front of him.

"Have you truly no wish for repentance?" He growled out, holding his sword pointed at the last gnome. It glared up at him for a moment, as if to consider - but then the scent of sinnamon hit him like a brick, turning him mad with desire.

He charged for Bastion, who dispatched him easily.

"Imbeciles." Bastion grumbled, putting away his sword and putting on his cooking gloves. "I would have shared with them, if they had just asked nicely."

And indeed, the scent did not lie - the buns, once tasted, were absolutely delicious.
