[Open Class] Your Very Own Halloween Costume [Fia]

Name of Class: Your Very Own Halloween Costume!
Professor name: Professor Selene Apophis

General Information: This class is open to Amityville students as well as Horsemen!

Professor Selene has collected far too much memorabilia from her trips to the human world, especially during Halloween. She wants to put some of her collection to good use, by helping out anyone who wants to make an appropriate costume for the all too important Trick or Treating that occurs every Halloween in the human world! You get to keep what you put together here - you may even get to use her costume in her Halloween Helpers Field Trip or one of the Horseman's Trick-or-Treating (Treat only) mission, should you want to!

Mechanics:

Part One: Picking outfit pieces

There's boxes lined up all in a row, all of which are filled with colorful pieces of costumes from days gone by. You're allowed to pick out four pieces to make a costume, so make it count!

Roll 4d12. If you don't like the pieces you rolled in this option, you are allowed to try again one time! Matching pieces will give you more points!

As you can see, 1/2/3 is a match, 4/5/6 is a match, as is 7/8, 9/10, and 11/12. If you manage to match two pieces of an outfit, you get +2 to your final total. If you manage 3 pieces, you get +4 to your final total! If NONE of your pieces match, you get +1 added to your total for originality. Remember you are allowed to roll again if you don't like your first find, but you must roleplay both posts out (minimum 100 words each), and you can choose whichever of the two you like best!

Part Two:

Putting together your costume:

It's time to show Selene what you've chosen! Put the costume on and try to explain to her what you are, even if your pieces mismatch. Are you a pirate fairy? A Skeletal Pumpkin? That's horrifying! You must tell her a story (minimum 200 words) about the character you've created. You can even give it a name, a backstory, and a goal in life! Make it interesting, Selene loves to be enchanted with a good story!

Roll 1d6 with your explanation post. Add the total of this dice, to the points you made in part one. Match your total to the fields below!

Totals:
1-2: Selene is so disappointed in your lack of attention to detail. She doesn't even know if she should let you keep the costume you made.. you clearly don't care about it! (Fail)
3-4: Is.. is your professor about to cry? She looks like she's about to cry.. maybe you should have taken your work more seriously.. (Fail)
5-6: Selene says nothing, but puts a green star sticker on your forehead. For Effort! (Pass)
7-8: Well done! Selene is so enchanted by your story, that she's lost track of what she was doing. Oh, that's right! Giving you an A! (Pass)
9-10: Is.. is your professor about to cry? She looks like she's about to cry.. did you do something wrong? Was your costume not good enough? No, she's just.. so.. proud.. *SNIFF* (Pass)

You complete the class, whether you pass or fail. +2 RP points for completing this class with at least 600 words!

Fia, to say the least, was really curious of the classes offered. She learned a lot from her fellow Clans-people, but it felt nice to venture off every so often and discover something she wasn't used to. With the list of classes, the Horsewoman decided on a class that, she felt, looked inside the mind of Humans. "They stopped revering those of our past... maybe this class could provide some insight," Fia thought to herself.

Once Fia stepped into the classroom, she noticed the students around her as well as the professor. Fia sat down and listened to the professor as she spoke. She looked at the boxes filled with things that the professor had collected during her times visiting the human world on Halloween day. So... One day a year the humans celebrated their world? Why wasn't it every day?

The professor gave the okay. She was to make a 'costume' of what the humans would do. It sounded easy enough. The boxes were piled with different things, and a bit overwhelming. 'I should really make a trip there to see what they do..." A lot of the items inside appeared to be things similar to what she's seen other ghouls wear in the area. Eventually, she just chose something she seemed.. somewhat used to?

Fia ran her fingers through some of the boxes and picked out what she thought as a 'reasonable' costume for a human. Looking in one box, she eventually found one item that looked familiar to her, a witch hat. It seemed a bit strange for a human to want to be a witch, but hey... At least Fia had an idea of what to do now. She kept looking and found a witch robe to match. The colors were an interesting blue and bronze to match the bronze hat. Out of a further box filled with accessories, Fia noticed witch broom and snagged that as well. "Maybe I could learn to fly.." she thought with a smile.

For the sake of covering up a bit, she rummaged through another box and grabbed a pirate's tunic. A robe really didn't cover that much and there didn't seem to be pants that were not taken or one piece. Fia looked at what she had gathered. Would this help her get candy from the humans? Fia couldn't help but think the idea overall was strange, but would roll with if she could experience the real thing for herself. At least she might be able to pass the class.

Fia slowly but surely stepped into the costume. It's not like she was trying to give herself some fake wings or anything, so to Fia, it just felt like she was changing clothes. Well, and adding a hat which wouldn't stay very well with her horns. Eventually, Fia had to take down some of her hair and the hat came to cover her eyes a bit to conceal. It did make her seem a bit more mysterious.

When it came to the 'story' portion of this, Fia was having a bit of trouble. She knew stories of this world, but what did the humans know? It was hard for her to think much of them.

It was soon her turn to step in front of the professor her costume's story, so Fia began:

"It started off with the witch being a little girl, born into a family that didn't celebrate the unknown. All they knew was what they could physically see and touch - anything beyond that was just a figment of the imagination and should be disregarded. They didn't know, however that their little girl would come to want and expect more out of the world. During the day, the little girl would be 'down to Earth' like her parents expected.

Once the sun set and her parents were asleep, the little girl would fantasize and pretend with the toys that she had. The world that came out of her imagination slowly began to feel more and more realistic to her. She didn't feel like they were just ideas; somewhere, out there, there was a world that was filled with wonder.

The play continued as the little girl grew up to be a young lady. She still tried to be as 'normal' as she could for her parents, but once she was alone, everything seemed to come out and play. It seemed like a far away place until one night, what looked like a sprite came to visit her, luring her from her room and through her backyard.

'You are more than just what your parents want you to be,' the sprite told the little girl. 'You're everything you want to be!' The clothes on her change from PJs to a witch hat and robe. In her hand appeared a magical broom. The little girl left her family that day for good. To this day, her parents believe she was kidnapped and killed."

At first, Fia thought the professor was going to cry with her explanation. It excited the Horsewoman a bit. The last part had to cause her to burst out crying. Fia lifted up the witch's robe and showed the professor the pirate's tunic. "In secret, the witch had more than just one goal; she also wanted to become a pirate and was now sailing the open seas."

The professor stared at Fia blankly for a few seconds. Instead of bursting into tears, there were no tears in the professor's eyes. Selene said nothing, but put a green star sticker on her forehead. It caused Fia to pause and stare for a bit, but... At least she passed?

"Well, I guess the witch didn't need the secret pirate identity..."
