Filled with sweet sinnamon roll tastes and pleased that he now apparently had the ability to make anything smell and taste just as sweet at will, Wrex was in high spirits when he arrived at the forest. Word around campus said there were courses set up for those willing to try and brave the Forbidden Forest. (And really, what was so forbidden about it? It was dark, sure, but not THAT scary, he was sure.)

What word around campus had failed to tell him was the fact that he had to wear a sheet again. And this one was glowing slightly. And had tiny eye holes. How the heck was he going to sneak up on other gnomes and scare them exactly?? He swore the course was just a huge prank.

Well, either way, now he had to attempt it. Armed with his ghost-shaped meter, Wrex went to work.

Okay, here was a good spot. If he could just sit here in these roots for a bit, someone was bound to come by! And the tree could hide his glow maybe.

Perhaps a little too well. Nobody chose to stroll past.

Just as he was about to attempt hiding in some shrubbery, he saw a shaky gnome ahead. Grinning to himself, he slowly rose from his crouch and whispered boo.

He was actually mildly surprised that it worked. Truly not even a ghost sheet could mask his own amazing scariness!

He was making his way around a tree when he was spotted. how did he know he was spotted? Someone threw a rock at him.

"NO HURTING!" he roared indignantly as he rubbed his head, effectively giving away his position to everyone else. Whoops.

He returned to the tree roots to try and wait it out. Apparently it still didn't work though; maybe they knew he had crept back to his hiding hole? Stupid freaking gnomes...

Okay, here was a good mark. Wrex was doing his best to creep up on them when--crack--he stepped on a branch. The gnome spun around and proceeded to laugh at him, and it took everything not to just lean down and swallow it whole.

Ah, here we go! Two of them were clinging to each other in fright. All it took was a little poke on the shoulder to get them both screaming. Wrex cackled.

Okay, who picked this spot with him? Wasn't the forest big enough to avoid getting interrupted? Wrex ended up glowing even more, to his chagrin, and the gnomes began their stupid song.

Here was another loner. Wrex proceeded to stalk them for a while before rising to his tip toes and roaring, "BOO!" He collapsed in a fit of giggles as the gnome shrieked and made its panicked way out into the trees.

Was this the kid who had sat in his hiding spot earlier? He couldn't remember. But the ghost was so sad, Wrex couldn't even try to bother it. At least its sigh for some reason spooked the gnome, so he'd take it.

The path was riddled with branches, Wrex learned a little too late. It impeded his attempt to follow after a gnome, who once again mocked him for being too spoopy for sure. What the heck did that even mean??

Okay, how about climbing a tree instead...He hoped the moonlight would mask him somehow.

Wrex waited patiently until a gnome passed by and dropped down on them. Literally. Whoops.

Damn it, he bumped into someone again! Wrex snarled at them and sent them scurrying, but no-one screamed of course. Except with laughter. At him.

Pouting, Wrex went back to his hiding hole and all but buried the dang meter in the ground. This hard course wasn't working for him, and it was irritating. Time to switch to the easier course, he supposed...But man it was a wound to his pride to do so.

Well, at leas he didn't have to wear a silly costume for this one. Wrex was already pleased with it.

Hiding behind a log, he watched a gnome pick its way through nearby. The toad atop the log ribbited, and for a moment he thought his position was given away; the gnome was getting too close.

When the toad opened its mouth again, Wrex panicked and roared at the same time, sending the gnome running.
