Reading online incest issues

It is not the first time that I read some people posting about sexual abuse in their family. It always disturbs me . What I found also irritating is when the victim said I told my mom and she did nothing to help me.

How can someone ignore the victim's situation ? How a mother can ignore that her own child is sexually abuse by one of your family member ?

Another crap issue in the world.

I think a lot of it is generational. In the olden days, problems and shame like that were hushed up and swept under the rug and pretended never to have happened.

A lot of people still hold onto that because it's how they were raised.

Then you have people who can't handle issues like that so they're ignored; plus a lot of victims get blamed and it's extremely sad.

Totally ! Crimes should never be ignored.
