[1V1]"Making Friends" (Brute & Malik)

It had been bothering Brute since the house cup, this whole "friendship" thing. How was he supposed to be friends with somebody that he hardly even knew? That's why, for the past few weeks, whenever he had some spare time (and he happened to spy Malik from afar), the wyvern would stalk this so called "friend", watching him, spying on him, trying to get a grasp of what the demon was all about.

Unfortunately, following him around hadn't really told Brute much. At least, it hadn't told him the most important thing.

He had no idea if the other boil was a total wuss or not.

There was at least one way that Brute thought that he could rectify this, however, and on one day, completely at random, the wyvern stood outside of Malik's dorm room door, head butting against it in a way which the monster considered to be an appropriate form of knocking. d

The constant thudding against his door had already caused his small friends to go into a panic. All the minis scuttled and scrambled to hide from the strange thudding danger in hopes that under his bed would keep them safe from whatever it was. He wasn't so convinced that would help them. Whatever or whoever was doing it seemed extremely determined to get his attention, or so it seemed. All he could really do to figure it out was to open the door and peek out. He'd expected someone working on something outside of his room, but he really hadn't expected Brute to be the culprit of the matter at hand. He wasn't exactly surprised to realize he'd been headbutting his door, but he didn't understand why.

"Hello Brute, it is nice to see you. What can I do for you?" he questioned, unsure of how to speak to the other boil.

Thud, thud, thud.

The rhythmic sound continued, and seemed to become more adamant as time went on, the door shaking more violently as Brute exerted more effort into each headbutt, his forehead turning quite a shade of red by the time the door was opened.

When it was opened, it took Brute by surprise enough for him to blink, narrow his eyes, and let out a loud huff through flaring nostrils.

He nodded in response to the greeting, arms curling closer to his chest.

"I am Brute!" He replied, with a stomp of his foot, obviously quite irate for some reason. "I am Brute!" He repeated, while turning, and jerking his head in a "follow me" motion.

Malik was a bit confused at the boil repeating his name. Of course he knew it already, they'd had quite a few interactions already. He didn't question though just in case it made the already irritable boil even more cranky.

"You could have simply knocked," he chuckled, motioning for Brute to continue on. If there was something he wanted to show him then no use waiting for it any longer.

"I'll uh....follow your lead then since you seem to know where we're going."

Whether it was Brute extending an invitation to hang out or something else entirely, Malik wasn't really sure. Either way he figured there was no harm in following after the boil to see just what adventure was to be had.

Brute responded with a grunt and a shrug. Head butting the door had done the same as knocking, and he still wasn't used to having hands that he could perform tasks with (in fact they were currently held curled against his chest, as they often were, his shoulders hunched forward as he walked along).

Their walk was done in near silence, with Brute constantly swiveling his head to look at things that passed, often with a glower and a sneer. Eventually, he led them to the gymnasium, stopping at the entrance to jerk his head, motioning for him to enter.

Once Malik went inside, Brute followed, heading straight towards one of the sparring rings.

The...sparring rings? Now Malik was greatly concerned about what they were doing. He thought the two of them were sort of friends, perhaps he was wrong on the matter. Maybe Brute was challenging him to some sort of duel. Monsters were strange creatures, and one really couldn't be sure.

It didn't help that Brute always looked ready to fight no matter when he encountered him. He was sure the boil would fight in his sleep if he could. He guessed all he could do was hope that this was a friendly match of some sort and that his friend wasn't out for blood or limbs. He'd like to keep all of his limbs, thanks.

Brute could make no promises on whether he'd leave Malik's limbs where they were meant to be, but only because he literally couldn't. He shouldn't have worried, however. Brute had no intention on hurting the other boil too badly. Just a few little nudges, a couple of shoves, maybe a n** or two....No bone crushing chomps and stomps (though those were always fun!).

The smile Brute gave the demon when he turned to face him likely appeared more vicious than what was intended. Brute really just couldn't do "friendly".

Not one to stand around wasting time on formalities, as soon as Malik was in place, Brute spun and lashed out with his tail, aiming to strike the other boil lightly, and low on a leg.

Malik had been so surprised by everything, he hadn't even noticed the boil swinging at him until it was too late. Brute's tail collided solidly with his leg, knocking him back and onto the ground. After the hit he'd received he wondered how his leg was even still there. He wasn't a fighter, and apparently that was what Brute wanted. If this was how he made friends he was not very good at it! He couldn't just hit him back though. That was uncalled for. He didn't want to beat up someone he thought of as a friend. So instead he stood their like the clueless demon boil he was, trying to come up with a plan.
