Pezzle's Potions

Äura arrived in the store they were now managing, though their experience at that task itself had never been gained through traditional work experience. The creature had managed teams of people before, and they were far older than they appeared. With such a ripened and experienced mind they could not imagine this job being a difficult one to adjust to. Arriving at dawn, the eeray unlocked the backdoor with their key and let themselves in. On que the store grew ablaze as candles lit themselves and the cauldrons bubbled to life with a basic stew in which they'd start today's batch of potions. Without needing to physically prep the store, Äura grabbed beackers and bottles filled with various objects- one appearing as collections of feathers and dust, another stuffed full of various sized fangs, a third with a glowing flower. They were each measured out in turn and added to either cauldron, either of which glowed and smoked with wonderful neon colors.

That being done Äura ascended to the loft with a straw broom, sweeping away dust and cobwebs as a simple tune sang off their lips. Everything sank peacefully to the main floor where more books laid about unsorted and well used. They would eventually have to climb back down and gather them; the books were sorted in the glass faced bookshelves here while their nearly endless array of potions were kept in the glass displays below. It was all so very beautiful, if you asked them, and they were more than content to work here. They'd even gladly give readings for the odd curious customer to wonder in in awe of the magic here. Assuming the cloaked figure and their accompanying hand pupet didn't shoo them away first. Whenever said cloaked figure appeared they were rather omnipotent and wise, Äura didn't usually get in their way. They knew with a glance what each passing soul wanted.

Äura heard the door, a healthy stream of dark khaki hair streaking behind them as they lifted their head. Two crimson eyes landed on a blonde below the loft, the eeray leaning their broom out of the way before hurrying to the stairs and gingerly making their way down. "Welcome. What brings y-" They did not mean to hush so adbruptly, yet they caught the feeling they weren't talking to the average passerby with a human's naivety. "I am Äura. What can I do for you?" The creature asked instead, paws tapping silently along the floor until they approached within a few feet and stopped.

Zivva stopped to look up at the voice. Crystal blues met crimson and then circled to look at her entirety. Her facial expression was one of awe and excitement, "My, my... aren't you a beautiful rarity?" She stood up and smiled, bringing a finger to the side of her temple and then flicked off from it in a greeting, "Hi! I'm Zivva. Nice to meet you Äura. I was just passing by and had always wondered about this little oddity. So I decided today would be the day." She grins

Äura felt their shoulders stiffen at the blatancy of the female's inspection, which openly took in their form from one end to the other. They did not expect one not to look, but it put them on guard nonetheless. One large ear began twitching as their feet settled on the tile and their hands crossed over their umbilicus. As the blonde gave her final verdict they released a small exhale, smiling faintly and nodding their appreciation. "Thank you. And you yourself are quite pleasant to the eye." Zivva, quite the uniqueness name as well, they found it charming. Hearing that Zivva was here to tour the store, the eeray dipped its head. "It would be a pleasure to escort you- unless you would prefer some independence in your browsing?"

The creature that had always referred to themself as Äura immediately felt their spine stiffen, shoulders back and straightened arms leading down to tensing fingers. Their tounge roved testingly between each cheek, the body following with a calm deflate as they sighed. "Pretty lady?" The eeray laughed, intertwining their fingers together over their petite dress front. One thing about not being self employed is that they couldn't freely speak their mind, someone else decided the consequences for miscodnduct. Äura, for one, quite liked this job. But whether to ignore it all together or offer some advice was the real question. Their ears ramained somewhat point backwards and flat, body turning to motion in the way they would lead them while walking. "You compliment me too generously, please, just Äura is acceptable."

Man, this place looked so peculiar...

That was what on Hikaru's mind as she stumbled upon this whimsical shop as if it had just popped out there. It was again another rainy day and the fallen angel had just closed her umbrella by the time she reached the entrance to Pezzle's Potions. As far as she would know, those who were in charge of the infirmary treatments back in Japan would sometimes resort to those herbal concoctions, though mostly, healing magic did work wonders to an extent. But as she was close to inspecting the interior of the shop, it was definitely not having the hospitality of an apothecary. It was most likely as if someone had dabbled into witch craft just to come up with whatever the shop would sell for interested clients.

For now, though, she would gaze at the merchandise that was available there, still grasping onto the umbrella handle. Come to think of it, it had been a while since she last saw Yang and after someone took over her position as the chef in Beluga, the brunette was oblivious to what happened next to her after the separation.

As Yang restocked bottles of potions in the shop, she recited a poem in Chinese not caring if people found her strange for doing that. It didn't matter much since she was alone in the shop and she had to do something to pass the time. This new job of hers isn't as exciting as she thought it would be in comparison to when she was the chef at Beluga. However, this still felt like moving from one prison to another. If only she didn't have a household to pay for and a stomach to feed. Maybe she should go back to living among nature where she can be truly wild and free, but then she have to sacrifice companionship with old and new friends. Somehow, someday, she will find balance. As she continued moving about the shop in a monkey like fashion and reciting Chinese poetry, she couldn't help wiggling her cute little butt from time to time, which make her giggle especially if she caught a reflection of hers performing that action by looking at one of the bottles. Then she heard someone come inside. Who can that be? From her current position she jumped down and landed on the shoulders of the one who entered the shop to give them her way of delivering proper greetings. Her head is now upside down facing the head of the one who entered the shop and upon recognizing that face, she smiled widely and said,

"Nǐ hǎo Hikaru."

The fallen angel saw how neatly the potion bottles were put on display for the interested clients to pick up later. But after a few seconds, her attention was then focused on that familiar figure performing the stunts until Hikaru had shown up. Lo and behold, the money king was there. Maybe she had switched to a new occupation during her long absence, but the brunette would ask later. For now, she was glad that they had reunited on this crucial moment. She responded to the greeting in her native tongue before switching back to English.

"Ohayou gozaimasu. It has a been a long while. But seriously, how were you while I was busy with my job and personal stuff? And I guess this is now your new occupation." She then left the umbrella on the side near the entrance as she resumed looking around at the bottles. Some were peculiar-looking and others were just too plain, but considering how much the effort was put into creating this shop, she would give the original owner some credit.

Yang expected more of a startled reaction when she landed on Hikaru's shoulder and essentially the monkey king played peek-a-boo with Hikaru. That didn't happen. Is Yang losing her touch or is her guest accustomed to her antics? She had gone away for a considerable amount of time but its like Hikaru expected the monkey king to someday return. Or maybe she simply wasn't away long enough. Oh well, not every person can be like that last guy she did that to and got startled. Now to answer a question asked by Hikaru: "how were you while I was busy with my job and personal stuff?" She can certainly get into all the neat and gritty details of her latest journey but Yang feels that Hikaru doesn't have the time to pull up a chair and listen to this monkey king deliver hours of deep narrative. Instead she will settle for a brief summary. First she jumped off Hikaru's shoulders and landed on her tail facing toward toward her. Her large mischievous grin remained on her face as she said to her,

"I had went on a new journey, a journey to free myself from this small island. You might call it a vacation of sorts, but I did desire to see what has changed outside of this island. Quite frankly the journey proved to be dismal but I have returned here and now I get to work with magical potions...dare to try one? Its a lot of fun. Hehehehe!"

Hikaru let out a few slow nods in response to Yang's explanation about her journey towards self-discovery. "You are not the only one having to do some self-discovery. Even Solaris has to do that currently since she's in Australia right now." She still wished that the violinist would feel fine having to make peace with the past before moving on with her life. But as she was about to insinuate something more about the raven-haired girl, Yang suggested about buying a potion. That's when Hikaru felt a bit uneasy.

"Ummm... I bet that these potions have awful side effects when ingested. The results may be always nasty." She had seen one witch who had dabbled in such similar potions for lovesick individuals and she had to put the operation to a stop. Too bad she even had to ask one of the infirmary experts for an antidote to cure the victims.

"Oooooh? But don't your trust me? Your dear friend the Monkey King? Would someone like me ever lead you astray? Its all in good fun after all! Besides, if you don't like the results, we have a cure all potion you can buy as well so there is no risk at all even if you don't true me! Hehehehe! Let me show you around!"

If Yang is going to sell some potions to Hikaru, the monkey king has to gain her friend's trust. What she says is true: There is no risk to drinking these potions. The shop cleverly concocted a clear all potion in case the results are not what the customer wanted. However, there is no need to overwhelm one person with so many potions so she only pointed out a few that may interest her, which coincidentally are the shop's best sellers. These include Be Mine, The Perfect Vacation, Drink Me, and Tribute to Koizora. The others not mentioned are also on displayed and Yang gave a small spiel on each of them before saying to her,

"What do you think? Any of these interest you? You can always buy one along with the antidote. I can balance them on my tail if it will make them more appealing. Hehehe!"
