Royalty: King (1. Male) The ruler of the pride. Either through blood or by… less peaceful means, the king is the lion with all the power. He listens to no one, save perhaps by the Gods. Depends on what kind of king he is, really. This position is only held by lions and has the final say in all decisions. The King picks his queen and can replace her whenever he sees fit. The king lives on top of the mountain in a large den.
Queen (1. Female) More a trophy-wife than anything else, the queen has no real power. Her status, however, is still very real. The other members of the pride, sans the king, treat her with a great deal of respect, aware that without her, no heirs will make their way to the throne. That’s pretty much her main job- producing offspring.
This is IS a position of power ICly and OoCly, unless you are not looking for the responsibility. <3.
Heir: (1. Male) This position is normally only available to the oldest born male son of the king. There are, however, special circumstances that can alter things. If the eldest is unfit to rule due to some disability or flaw, the king will place the title to one of his other offspring. Should no offspring be produced before the death of a king, then the leading member of the war council will take the throne. Brothers and other blood-relatives do not have higher priority.
Prince/Princess: These are the other offspring of the king not in line to the throne. They, like their mother, are respected by all despite having a very real lack of responsibility. When older, they may become advisers/war council members if a position is available.
Adviser: (3. Usually Female) The right-hand ladies to the king and queen. They, through various means, inform the king on the happenings of the pride. They are consulted on all matters, from war to breeding, to how many slaves a noble should own. In the end, it’s the king who calls the shots, but these three ladies can work their magic to sway an opinion or two when needed. Lionesses only. - Ten IC RPs are required before someone can become a member of this class. ICly, they are granted the title by the king.
War Council: (1-3. Usually Male.) Like the advisers, these lions consult with the king and help with decisions. Their influence, however, only goes so far as battle. Should war come upon the pride, these males are considered the generals of the armies. They will lead the battle, claws ready. This being the case, only the fairly young, strong males of the pride are accepted and when they get too old, they are replaced at the king’s discretion. - Ten IC RPs are required before someone can become a member of this class. ICly, they are granted the title by the king.
Upper Class: Nobles: The higher-end nobles are the ones with more purple color, the respect decreasing with the amount of color one has on them. This rank is open to all creatures except familiars and hybrids. Nobles live in the mountain dens near the top of the cliffs, nearest the king. Lions no longer need to have any purple in them to become nobles! - Five IC RPs are required before someone can become a member of this class. ICly, they are granted the title by the king.
Nurse: Nobles who have some free time, but no real desire to fight, can become nurses instead. They tend to all members of the pride, even the groundlings, and tend to be the more tolerant of the upper classes. They wear pouches, of various design, color and make, to hold roots and other items they might need to help heal the sick or wounded. This job is open to all animals except hybrids and familiars, though they can have a slave double as an "assistant" if they want. - Five IC RPs are required before someone can become a member of the noble class. ICly, they are granted the title by vote of the whole pride, and then may choose to become a nurse.
Guards: Guards protect the lands from invaders. They check in with the war council and keep them up to date on who’s coming in and who’s going out of the pride. Information that goes to the king. Because they are so close to the royals, they are held in high regard. They’re also the main army in times of war. In peacetime, they lead hunting parties and generally look down on the other classes while they patrol the boarders hoping for action. This rank is only open to lions, cheetahs and leopards. - Five IC RPs are required before someone can become a member of the noble class. ICly, they are granted the title by vote of the whole pride and then may choose to be a guard.
Elders: Sort of the demotion class for those in the royalty spectrum. When Advisers, War councilmen and even queens become too old for the king’s liking, they are given the rank of elder and more or less exiled from presence of the king. Even so, they are greatly respected by the classes below them and are treated no less like royalty. As only lions serve the king directly, no other creatures are considered elders. Elders double as nannys during baby booms, helping raise the young for all classes. - Five IC RPs are required before someone can become a member of the noble class. ICly, they are granted the title by vote of the whole pride and then may become and elder if they are... elderly.
Middle Class: Scholar: These are the educators of the pride and have the potential of being just as respected as the nobles, despite not having the requirement of purple. They teach all members of the pride, at any age group, and are often the most open-minded of the pride members. They love to learn, obviously, though some opt out of teaching to further their own insight. One scholar is picked to live in the castle and teach the king's offspring if there's no one in the family capable of doing it.
Attendants: Attendants live at the top of the cliff and tend to the needs of the king, his family, the advisers and the council. They hold no more respect than any other middle class-men, though sometimes they like to THINK they do because they live with royalty. The king picks attendants himself and rarely picks non-lions. However, he does use lions who don't have purple in their coat, since this position is just a servant job and thus beneath the nobles.
Hunters: Hunters do the… hunting. This position is open to all animals aside from familiars and holds little respect. Then again, no middle class positions hold that much respect. In times of war, the hunters become the lower grunts of the army, often sent out first to find out just how many enemies are waiting for them. They, like all middle class members, live at the base of the cliff in dens.
Costumers: Decorations are a big deal to the Suka’Fumo. All positions, upper to lower, love to wear furs and dress up. Costumers take hides from the hunters or trade for them with the merchants to make various articles of clothing for the other pride members. The pride doesn’t have money; these things are done to please the king. They also make purses, bags and anything else that requires fur or leather.
Tinkers: Like costumers, tinkers collect materials to make accessories for the pride members. They don’t work in fur, however. Instead they make their trade in beads, rocks, bones and anything else they can get their paws on. They make jewelry and other little do-dads as requested.
Artisan: Often working alongside tinkers and costumers, artisans doll up animals with special paints and inks made from various fruits and other natural means. They design any marking requested, which can be permanent or something used in a production, as from the players. They are not allowed to use purple unless it has been approved of by the kind for a play or some other special circumstance.
Merchants: Most new members to the pride pick up this job position. They are almost rogues themselves, roaming the land looking for new kinds of food, medicines, materials and even information to bring back to the pride. They often exchange these goods for slaves or other goods they consider equal in value. Guards know them by familiarity and the brown feathers they wear behind their ears.
Players: No, not THAT kind of player. These creatures are in charge of the entertainment for the whole pride. They perform, paint, and even decorate cave walls when asked- anything pertaining to the arts. Most are considered the free loaders of the pride, looked down on by more or less everyone. Still, they always seem to be the ones having all the fun. They even head into the forest from time to time, interacting with the groundlings. When they need to perform, they turn to the costumers, tinkers and artisans for help.
Youth: All cubs and juves that are not slaves or members of the royal family take this rank until they are old enough to get a job within their born class. Groundling young and noble young included. Lower Class: Slaves: Slaves are familiars that wander into the lands. Of course, they don’t always wander in WILLINGLY. Usually slaves go to the noblemen and royalty, but it’s not completely uncommon for a member of the middle class to own one to help them in their job. All animals, however, can be a slave. If born to a family that rejects them, or particularly inept at everything they do, even lions can end up working at the paws of another. Prisoners of war may also end up being slaves. Slaves are not always treated like scum. The king's slave, for example, is respected. It just depends on how the master treats the slave, which tells the other pride members how to deal with it.
Fairy Folk: Auberon: This is the "leader" of the groundlings, the title one made to honor the kind of the faeries they feel they share the forest with. They don't really believe in positions of power, but in order to communicate with the rest of the pride, they needed one official to speak on their united behalf. The Auberon tends to act as any other member would and doesn't feel his/her position is that important. Can be any gender and creature.
This IS a position of power ICly, so if you apply for this you will have access to the mule and such. ^^
Groundling: These are the forest dwellers of the pride- those that do not fit into normal society. They are not enemies, nor completely hated, but those of the mountainside do find them difficult to understand at times. They generally love to throw parties and engage in mischief. They welcome all breeds and genders and have no system of rank, though they do have to follow the laws of the land same as anyone else. While they do work with the pride in times of hardship, for the most part they are the mysterious “others” that have no apparent purpose. Slaves that come into the forest to escape must be returned. They come into the pride whenever they please and love participating in the performances from the players.

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers Name of SoA: Magali Owner: Mogami Image: Uncert Personality: bubbly. Fun-loving. Somewhat irresponsible. Background: Carefree rogue want to be a carefree pride member. A bit of a blank slate otherwise. Desired Position/Rank: Groundling
Name of SoA: Nouri Owner: Mogami Image: Uncert Personality: Dutiful but easy-going once he relaxes around others. Background: Looking for his father. Not very artistic so he will either become a Scholar under daddy's guidance (I can see him surrounded by little cubs, teaching them the basics) or be a Hunter forever. Desired Position/Rank: Hunter, initially. So, so late. And I could swear I had posted for them before ^^'. I love this pride so if you need any help with the Meta, all my kids are at your disposal. =)
