The gate keeper was a towering and silent individual, with a tremendous presence. Houou could see why this person was trusted to guard the gates. Any attacker would think twice before going head to head with this mysterious masked person.

As the chuunin began addressing him, Houou found it difficult to take his eyes off the gatekeeper. Houou had a bit of a fascination with powerful ninja, that could be due to his own weakness and shortcomings. Turning to the chuunin, and returning the smile, Houou have a respectful bow.
"Recently I was tasked with delivering a package in behalf of lady Ojō, but I failed to protect him, I am Senju Houou, formerly of the village of Otogakure, currently being occupied by the UHV. I have been forced to flee my homelands and seek refuge in the wilderness. I come here in order to plead with the mizukage for asylum, in exchange for my services and loyalty. I and my fellow rogues can be of great use to Kirigakure and her citizens."

Houou knew that revealing his name and status were extremely dangerous, he could be killed on the very spot. But he was desperate to see Ojō once more, desperate to attain the power needed for defending his friends.

"Gate Keeper"

The Gate Keeper's head tilted in a sharp motion towards the hut attached to the inner wall of the village's border - the chuunin behind them finally stepped forward and, with an polite wave of their hand, motioned for Houou to follow them to the hut. "We'll contact the Mizukage's office and see if there is time for you to be seen, while arranging your time to stay with us here, okay?" The chuunin spoke. The Gate Keeper remained at the gate opening, unmoving.

The hut was made of the same stone as the walls, curved and small, meant only as a small station for the on duty guards to organise the paperwork and keep copies of the blank entry and exit forms in the two cabinets. A red phone was affixed to the wall by the door with no buttons on its bulk. In the corner, a small radio was playing a low tune. A small table and two chairs were crammed in, one already occupied by a stern-looking chuunin hunched over some papers. They look up at the entrance of their partner and the rogue nin and barely hesitate to gather the papers and stand.

"Please take a seat, Senju Houou." The friendly one speaks up while the other Chuunin approaches and they exchange a near silent conversation before the ster-looking chuunin picks up the phone and walks out the door, the chord following after them and around the small corner outside. When Houou takes a seat, the friendlier of the two chuunin guards will also sit down with a small smile. "We can arrange a room for you within the village while my partner finds out when the Godaime may be able to see you. If you'd like that?"

Houou found himself torn between comfort and terror. As the pleasant chuunin guided him to a cramped little hut, Houou passed the gatekeeper with hesitation. He hadn't felt this kind of pressure coming off a human being since....Ojō. "is this the caliber of shinobi that are sculpted in Kirigakure?" Houou pondered as he sat down never breaking his line of sight with the gatekeeper. Until that is the chin-ups question broke his train of thought.

"I am honored to be treated as such a welcomed guest. I'm apologize for seeming shocked, but things are a little different where I come from. When the UHV took over, not even children are considered safe in our lands. I will gratefully accept your offer of lodging as I await the Mizukage to fit me into his schedule."

Houou was immensely curious about the differences between the UHV occupied Otogakure and Kirigakure. He would finally get to experience a real shinobi village.
Suddenly his eyes widened with excitement and realization, as a thought crossed his mind. " Maybe I can discover more about Ojō and her history here in the village. How had she become the warrior that Houou came to admire and respect."

The open-faced chuunin blinked before a small, sad smile remained on the chuunin's face for only a few seconds as he spoke. "Kirigakure has faced many hardships, Senju Houou. Though we would not dare compare it to the occupation of Otogakure." He added, voice softer as though in recognition of the pain Houou may be feeling. "And, while the Yondaime and Godaime have focused on increasing our defences because of it, you'll see that our current Mizukage particularly has been keen to keep our village vibrant. Filled with hope, some have said." They spoke and settled into a more relaxed position in their chair. The other chuunin was still out of sight, the red chord of the phone stretched out of the doorframe and around the corner of the hut. From in here, almost nothing could be seen. However, the gentle lapping of water could be heard. "I suppose you wouldn't have seen anything like Kirigakure either." They continued.

Indeed, Kirigakure was not only surrounded by high walls but was basically a floating city resting upon the bones of the long submerged corpse of its former self. The depth of the massive lake Kirigakure is built inside of is near impossible to measure. And in the centre of it all, the largest tree anyone had ever seen. Bridges and boats connect the various islands of the village, floating homes of wick and wood, the bulbous structures of offices and apartments fused to the large tree's trunk.

"You must have questions?" A few seconds later and the other chuunin returns to hang the receiver back up in its cradle.

"In an hour." They spoke, voice low and rough as though an injury to the throat had damaged the voice box.

As the chuunin spoke so highly of his village, Houou was overcome with grief and curiosity. It had been a long time since he had even considered what had become of his father and mother over these past few months. There were many questions he had for them, questions that would never be answered. They were slaves to the UHV and Houou was the only one of his clan that had the courage to escape that tyranny. His fathers response was to to send assassins after him, effectively showing the love he had for his own son.

The view from the wut was very limited but that didn't stop Houou from gazing at the spectacular gates and entrance where the gatekeeper still stood unmoved. As their conversation continued Houou turned to the cheerful chuunin,
"I have only met few citizens of this land and I must say, you are a testament to what a great leader your kage is. You are right, I've never seen anything like Kirigakure. But I hope to experience this wonderful land first hand."

Houou was briefly interrupted as the stern-faced chuunin had returned to the cramped hut. This chuunin didn't give off negative vibe, but Houou could tell that he took his position very serious.
Then he uttered the words in a low and mysterious voice. Houou had one hour to prepare for is meeting with one of the most powerful men currently breathing. Houou was normally calm and collected, but in this instant, he found himself very anxious....nervous even.

"i wasn't expecting to see the lord mizukage so soon. I hope I have not inconvenienced anyone with my sudden appearance.

Standing out of the cramped seat, Houou stretched his arms and legs without invading the space of the others.
" If I agreed to having a guide, would I be allowed to explore the public parts of the village? This cramped space does little for my increasing nervousness."

"Oh," The friendlier of the two smiled at Houou. "By the time we've organised your paperwork for asylum, Senju Houou, we'll have an escort organised and it'll be time for you to head to Sero - the tree that houses the Mizukage's office." They added in explenation. "There is also our rules and regulations we should go over, as well as some mannerisms that non-residents have noted to be unique to our home. All of these are necessary for your application." It was explained gently, almost apologetically. They stood and opened up a filling cabinet - the bottom most drawer of three - and retreived a stack of papers, pre-stapled.

"Now," the kinder of the two spoke, their chuunin partner leaning against the wall behind them, arms crossed and eyes barely blinking as they watched Houou. "Your reason for seeking asylum in Kirigakure is due to the UHV occupation of your former village Otogakure, yes?" The seated kirinin spoke, pen scibbling away neatly, head bent in concentration. "Why Kirigakure? You mentioned a woman named Ojō - if this individual affected you decision, please describe how and why. As well as the - you used the term 'package' in reference to another individual?" They looked up from the paper - there were now two sets of eyes on Houou; one patient and waiting, the other evaluating and cold.

When the kinder chuunin made mention of Sero the tree that housed the Mizukages office, Houou couldn't contain himself. Being a member of the senju clan Houou hada fascination with elder trees. With how old and large they were, if they were given a voice, their tales would be magnificent. Even more curious was the fact that such a tree stood tall in the center of the village. He was eager to see this tree with his own two eyes and learn it's history.

As the paperwork portion of the application process began, Houou would once again take his seat and settle into a comfortable position. Now that there were three of them in the small hut, Houou didn't want to make any sudden or suspicious moves, he couldn't ruin this opportunity a second time around.

"Yes... my family belonged to a special group even amongst the UHV. However, due to unjust tyrannical practices, I had to escape with a young girl being held against her will for information. Sadly I was not able to save her and members of my clan murdered her as we were making our escape. I would have lost my life as well, if not for two wandering shinobi that were passing through the land."
Houou felt unsure about revealing the fact that he belonged to a rogue group to anyone but the Mizukage. The kinder chuunin however, had treated Houou with nothing but respect. He knew that he had to be open and honest with these trusted shinobi. Shooting a glance at the quiet chuunin, Houou took a deep breath and relaxed his tense body.

In a slightly lower voice, Houou began to speak as if he didn't want outsiders to hear his words.
"After the two wanderers helped me escape, I soon found out that they had also fled their respective villages for similar reasons. They shared my hate of corruption and misuse of power. I've since spent the last few months as a member of their group, Shishin. We mostly reside in Takumi...which is where I met Ojō. She claimed to hail from Kirigakure, and even offered me work. She was the first person to give an inexperienced kid like me a chance to prove himself. I consider her a mentor and inspiration to push forward and become just as strong. That leads me to the final mission that she assigned me. To deliver a package, or should I say, a scientist named Taka."
Houou couldn't hide the shame in his eyes as he looked down to the ground. The very thought of failing Ojō, filled him with mixed emotions.
" only I was too weak to defend Taka from a crazed bandit. I believe two of your young shinobi bore witness to this ridiculous event. The mysterious man defeated two strange men, took Taka and fled off into the mist surrounding the strange slab in your funeral grounds."

Houou clenched his fists in frustration, gritting his teeth, he looked up at the two chuunin before him.

" I couldn't just run away knowing that I let Ojō down. She deserves to know that I've failed her and that I was willing to face the consequences like the man age once trusted. I am here to offer my services to the Mizukage and the citizens of Kirigakure. I am here on behalf of Shishin to swear our loyalty to the mizukage and dedicate our lives to serving Kirigakure from the shadows."

Houou lost himself in his passion filled speech and didn't realize that he was no longer speaking in a low voice. The young man was not afraid to put everything on the table, for the sake of facing Ojō again with his head held high.

Both chuunin remained silent as Houou spoke, neither giving anything about what they were thinking. The one who had shown only kindness and soft, supportive words to the Rogue silently wrote down what was spoken; pen moving in neat, small swirls across the paper. When Houou became quiet, the silence filled the small room - only the lapping of water and the common noise of travelling merchants and distant discussions whisping along the edges of their small, quiet space. Minutes had ticked by when the pen was placed down onto the table and both Chuunin were gazing at Houou once more.

"So you're here on behalf of others - the Shishin. Are they in approval of your decision?" The kinder of the two spoke once again. "Do they know you are here? Doing this." They made a small hand motion, indicating the small room surrounding them. "It's a pretty big thing, representing an entire group. They'd have to trust - not just you, but us as well."

The seated chuunin gave a small smile, honest and open. "I can't tell you if the Mizukage Godaime will accept your application or not, or if you're group will be included in the decision, but I can say that honesty is well received. Okay?" As they were speaking, their partner had looked out the open archway of the hut, spotting the escort for the Rogue having arrived. They stepped forward and placed a hand on their partner's shoulder, causing the kiri shinobi to nod in understanding without even looking up. "You're escort is here. You'll get to see some of the village!" The friendly chuunin smiled brightly while gathering the papers together in a neat pile. Standing, they gestured for Houou to walk out of the hut first - to be greated by a bored-looking individual.

This Kiri nin had a smoke dangling from their lips and a small magazine-like print in hand. The header on it, obscured as it was by the new arrival's hands, seemed to indicate an 'official' news source. "Please keep close to this shinobi." The friendly chuunin spoke behind Houou, their partner still behind them. "The way to Sero may appear straightforward, but you'll need both bridge and ship crossings to be able to reach the Mizukage's office on time." They explained. "Also, you'll find many official doors are locked by seals. So you wont get lost in places you're not supposed to be." They handed over the pile of papers with Houou's details to the bored-looking nin and gave a friendly smile and wave of goodbye. "Good luck, Houou Senju."

Houou's escort was still reading the small newspaper, tucking the handed-over material under an armpit and turning to walk away without even glancing at the Rogue. As they moved, a large scar was revealed on the side of their neck - puckered, old, and peppered by a few smaller nicks and marks. Houou's first crossing would be a wide bridge for the merchant caravans, which lead down to storage and a small docks. Instead of heading for a boat, the reading Kiri nin moved over to a smaller, pedestrian-use bridge and from there Houou would be lead towards the towering Sero tree...

Feel free to post in Sero. You can be at Krisella's desk (secretary to the Mizukage) at the top of the Sero tree, in its trunk still.

~ I am the King of Hearts and the Jack of Trades

It took a lot to not put all his speed and power into trying to punch Inka's face inside out. The guy was flip-flopping with his words all over the place. Fight, don't fight. Leave, don't leave. While thoughts of abandoning the village were on the forefront of his mind, the Jiongu knew he had been given a mission to do. It would be in bad taste to leave without at least doing his part, given the fact that it was his title as a Shinobi that gave him a roof over his head. Rather than go to the office and risk seeing the Mizukage again, the young jiongu instead went to the village gate, standing outside of it....he felt eyes on him. It was no use looking, he was well aware it was most likely an ANBU unit or gate guards boring their gaze into him. Considering his last conversation with Inka was in the presence of the ANBU, he wouldn't be surprised if word traveled quickly about a genin with a high possibility of turning rogue. It's a stupid idea as long as I have the tattoo anyways. He thought to himself, mind turning to the chakra-infused ink that covered the majority of back along with some of his arms. While he wasn't sure if it could immediately endanger him, he was sure that he could at least be tracked with it. It made sense to keep it until his leave, for the sake of himself and others. Monsters and dogs alike should be kept on leashes, no?

While he didn't have the time to seek healing, he did manage to change his clothes. No longer was he in a white dress shirt and black tie, instead he wore a dark coat over a light red sweater, with a red scarf then around his neck. Beneath his clothes were simple bandages wrapped around his upper body and leg in order to resist a mess from the blood. In case the mission was strenuous, well...at least wearing red would help for appearances sake. His tendrils were still working on temporarily replacing any blown-through muscles or other appendages in his shoulder, though it was hard to replace the flesh torn away from a hole made through the body. It would probably scar. His sleeves and pant legs were pulled up to make room for his clawed gauntlets and greaves that left a notable blemish on his otherwise formal appearance. Along with that armor, he wore the black steel half-mask that covered the lower half of his face but offered some breathing room, just as he wore on his first mission with Nozomi and Kagerou.

...Would it burden me to leave them behind.

His mind once again turned to another unavoidable occurrence in becoming a rogue shinobi. The people he'd leave behind. While he had a friendship with the Aburame once, she ruined it the moment she overstepped her boundaries. With Kagerou, there wasn't anything substantial to consider them being friends. They worked with one another and shared a living space. Inka couldn't be considered. Jack was...Making friends is hard, isn't it? He asked nobody but himself, not expecting an answer. Takeda was beginning to judge whether the effort for such a goal was worth it in the end, considering his interactions with other people so far.

It's tedious anyways...I'll outlive every one of them.

I'll dress you in blood, my dear Queen of Spades ~

"Takeda Shirai," a neatly clipped voice called out from some distance away, weighed several pitches lower by the burden of formality. When Takeda turned he will see for about a second that the speaker, Kagerou, was completely into the act, her strides measured and her face set. However, that was all it was, an act. To be exact, a bit of impromptu practice. She couldn't quite place her finger on one reason why, there were several, but the longer she acted and worked as a ninja, the more she found the skill of acting to be something unavoidable so long as she had it. It wasn't a good feeling, as she was someone who valued staying true, but it also wasn't a conclusion she had been completely unprepared for.

As the greeting, which also had the practical purpose of catching Takeda's attention, was just an act, Kagerou was quick to drop it. After maybe a stride and a half after she said Takeda's name, her body relaxed back into its usual walking rhythm, drilled over many years to walk softly but gracefully without thinking, and just to make sure that Takeda understood what had just happened was just the equivalent of Kagerou playing around, she added a very informal, "'Sup?" and her usual smile.

Besides, it would have been very hard to have thought the acting was serious even before Kagerou stopped it. After all, both hands held a paper bag full of food in front of her and one arm had a scarf draped over it. She clearly didn't look like any sort of stern commander. Though, she certainly had sounded like one.

Instead of invading Takeda's personal space and asking the important stuff right up front, like if he had gone to a hospital, Kagerou paused several feet away from him and gave him a good, hard look. This was as much a time for her to observe as it was a message to him, letting Takeda know that she knew everything wasn't normal even if she didn't know what it was and that she was going to try to act as appropriately as she could with that knowledge.

At the end of a few seconds of silence, though, Kagerou just gave Takeda a bigger smile, tilting her head to the side to emphasize the cheerful expression. Then came the words. "Our mission," she began as she set down her bag of food, "I'll let you know on the way there. You're probably itching to go out, but bear with me for a bit, please?". There were things Kagerou needed to assess for the safe completion of a mission.

It all need to start, however, with an apology. Kagerou took a step back to give herself even more room, and bowed exactly 90 degrees to the floor, "I apologize profusely for my behavior when you were hospitalized. Even under the abnormal circumstances back then, I have no excuse. As squad mate and patient, your health and rest should have been more important than the... other thoughts that filled my head." That wasn't all she had to apologize for, though. Lifting her head, Kagerou also requested forgiveness for a more minor offense, "I'm also sorry for earlier. Not for interrupting the spar, but for sitting on your sword. It slipped my mind when I was rushing to make my entry, and I know that sword is precious to you." Well, maybe Kagerou didn't know enough to say that she knew, but she sort of understood the gist of it after seeing Takeda on their first day together and then earlier today when he prioritized his sword's well-being over his body's.

Kagerou didn't need to hear a response to her apology. She wasn't expecting any sort of gratitude for owning up to her mistakes, much less any forgiveness. She moved straight on to the next point with giving Takeda a chance to reply, bearing the burden of being rude alone over sharing the blame for a potentially awkward pause. "Here, a scarf," Kagerou first relieved herself of the scarf she had brought, bunching it up and tossing it straight to Takeda's face to further discourage any response, "Cover your face with instead of that mask. Seriously, if your mouth is cold, don't cover it in an enclosed space that's just going to collect water. It'll only get worse." It was supposed to be a joke or advice. Kagerou wasn't sure which, and as a result, her smile didn't change to match the tone her voice should have taken.

While Takeda fumbled with that, Kagerou picked up the paper bag of food again and tilted it so that the opening faced Takeda, "And food. You must be hungry after that spar. Help yourself to whatever you want." Within were just simple foods, and nothing hot, but it was quick to get and easy to eat on the go: 1 apple, 1 pear, 1 small punnet of strawberries, 1 scone, 1 shortbread, 1 baguette, 1 kilo of cheese, and two half liters of milk.

There was nothing complicated. An apology, some maybe unneeded warmth, and food. She had even dropped the assessment that she had wanted to do at first. Of course, Kagerou wanted to be complicated. She wanted to ask what Takeda was feeling. Why had he gone that far in a spar? What did he see her as if the only reason he accepted for Kagerou to break up an over the top fight in an entertainment, not a training, arena was because she had a mission with him? What did he and Inka talk about that looked so on edge when Kagerou looked at him before calling out? How were his wounds? Did he get them checked out? What was the mask for because Kagerou certainly didn't think it was for the cold like she had claimed to believe. She might not have been able to put her finger on it, but it felt like something had changed for the worse. Well, of course it felt like that. She had just seen Takeda explode. Not just once, but over and over and over.

She had been part of the cause for at least two of the explosions, which was why Kagerou held her tongue and her questions. Considering her current position and the way it felt like Takeda teetered upon the edge of a knife, she felt that now wasn't the time to ask. It was just the time to do.

Talking about doing, Kagerou wasn't going to make Takeda just stand around and eat. Nope, she was going to make him walk and eat. "C'mon, pick something out while we walk and eat it on the go," she insisted as she nodded in the direction away from Kirigakure and started to walk out. Again, it was in that rushed manner. Not quite breathless or speedy, but clearly with no space for Takeda to interject, be it speech or to reach in and grab some food while Kagerou was standing still. Kagerou was trying her best to seem natural and relaxed, going at her usual pace, but her usual pace had always involved time for others to give her their opinions. That she was trying right now, trying to mend something that she wasn't fully certain of herself, seeped into her rush and the impatience that lay underneath her patience.

When performing offensive medical techniques, she can target anyone who can hear her music with the jutsu. I.e. she no longer has to be within touch range of the target to use killing hands. Harmful eiseijutsu cast in this manner is guaranteed to hit as long as the condition of sound is met, but it takes one post to manifest its effects. In that time, the technique can be nullified by matching the energy (chakra/stamina/whatever else) cost Kagerou paid to use the entire jutsu, including any extra costs for additions/modifications. Those afflicted by harmful eiseijutsu cast in this manner become aware that if they do not spend the required amount of chakra/stamina, then bad things will happen to their body. The target(s) will have a vague sense of how bad the damage will be, but do not know what exactly will happen.

Dream Audience - Kagerou's dream is to help as many as she could. From this desire, the dream world manifested the power to multiply the recipients of all of her eiseijutsu techniques. With neither extra effort nor decrease in power, Kagerou can affect two extra targets for each eiseijutsu activation as long as they fulfill the requirements to be a target (i.e. contact for most eiseijutsu by default or sound when Kagerou performs eiseijutsu). Past the starting two, she must spend a total of 5(n-3)+10 energy split evenly between chakra and stamina for each additional target; n = number of targets. Odd energy costs are split with 1 more point of stamina than chakra. This additional cost cannot be reduced or refunded.

The Good Host - 1/2 off all implant chakra requirements.

Iryo-nin I - Kagerou receives a +1 dr [slightly modifier] to her eiseijutsu for each medical title earned. 2 medical titles = +2 dr [mildly modifier].

Mind and Body I - A sound soul resides in a sound mind and a sound body. To ensure the health of all three, Kagerou must master every aspect of medicine. Kagerou gains an additional medical field type. The additional type needs to be trained separately from the first.

Mind and Body II - A sound soul resides in a sound mind and a sound body. To ensure the health of all three, Kagerou must master every aspect of medicine. Kagerou gains an additional medical field type. The additional type needs to be trained separately from the first.

Evergreen Growth - Life always finds a way, especially when it's helped by someone who truly cherishes it. Plants cultivated by Kagerou grow as if the soil they are nourished by is +1 grade higher than it actually is. Unfertilized soil yields crops in 2 rl weeks. Low-grade fertilizer yields crops in 1 week. High-grade fertilizer reaches a new level of fast and yields crops in 4 days. (Post-acceptance note: I just realized that there is an Evergreen religion in this guild. I did not mean for this to be a religious PA in any way. It's just botany. I hope that's not a problem.)

~ I am the King of Hearts and the Jack of Trades

Her voice almost eluded his memory, though the particular softness gave him something to cling to. Besides, there weren't many who knew his full name. They lived once in a place where their titles were displayed on their bedroom doors after all. Strange...I can usually hear her before she gets to me. It's weird seeing her without those bells. Maybe because of the mission? He thought innocently enough, though an ember lit in his mind just a moment after as something else swiftly entered his thoughts as fast as it left. The formality she displayed was a far cry from the girl who sat on his blade hardly an hour ago, and its appearance caused something in his chest to sour. Not her very being or even her prior actions, but the existence of Kagerou's act seemed to have an effect opposite to what she initially intended. There was no hints on his features and it lasted for a fraction of an instant, but its occurrence was undeniable. That was not a surprise. Perhaps in his state of being similar to being on a tightrope, he viewed everyone else and their intentions equivocally. In truth, he didn't know why it happened at all.

Her stride dipped back into normalcy and so to did his state of being, his next exhale being drawn out just a moment longer than the rest of his breaths. "Nothing much, just readying to head out." He answered, disregarding formality just as much as she did. The latter held truth, but they both knew his first words were a lie. Something was wrong, it was just...difficult to place. His emotions and intent could be read so easily in the heat of battle, but Takeda had a tendency of proving quite hard to see through when it came to normal conversations. His voice faced a natural distortion as he spoke through the steel mask, but his tone was notably calm. Any trace of his prior frustrations were gone, cold blue eyes glazed with something negative in contrast. Indifference? Disdain? He was looking into her gaze, though that look could be taken as seeing right through her all the same. It was harder to read his full range of emotions while only seeing half of his face. It was a part of the reason why he wore the mask. Just a part.

Her accentuated cheer didn't do an outstanding amount of good, but he was a "sympathy smiler" and couldn't resist the small spreading of his lips and crinkling of his eyes in response to her sudden grin after a period of silence. What appeared to be cold indifference turned to a pleasant calm. Kagerou's actions could seem so calculated sometimes, but her demeanor was genuinely warm. She became a shinobi for the benefit of others, and that sort of thing shone through to him despite the bleakness of the situation...no matter how small, it was present. He focused more on her words once their mission was mentioned, chewing the inside of his cheek a bit in anxiousness when she brought up informing him on the way over. His curiosity on the mission clashed with his distaste for the Mizukage, but he was ever eager to figure out what he was getting into. Then...what followed gave him more of an insight on her personality. While he appreciated the apology, his teammate gave him no room to retort or forgive before jumping onto the next subject, not giving his mind enough time to think up a proper response....his eyes went down for a moment in response, away from her gaze while she went for her scarf. That doesn't feel...

He could hardly finish his thoughts before she was throwing a scarf at him and telling the jiongu that his mask was a bad idea. While he could have informed her on why the condensation would've been a benefit to him or why he used that mask in the first place, he caught on already that it was best to let her continue on her own. His input would really just be another stab towards the time remaining for their already evident tardiness when it came to their mission anyways. Even when she offered some oh-so-enticing food, he knew it'd be a short lived experience, which is why he wasn't surprised or disappointed when she refused to give him any time so he could pick something out. It's best this way, really. He thought briefly, though there was the ghost of another smile as a tendril made its way from the space between his gauntlet and his sleeve, attempting to wrap around the bag of food Kagerou had and take it while they made their way to the crossroads. Of course she could stop him, but it'd probably be for the best if she just let him hold the food. He could be a big eater for a person who didn't need food to survive. Whether she let it happen or not, he'd put the scarf she gave him over his shoulder in the meantime, refusing to remove his mask.
