[HH PRP] A Round of Rounds (Joy and Falair)

Easing herself back into Island Life meant Joy had to do rounds at the Haunted House. It wasn't a bad chore, at least based on the moon trainee's past experiences. And it gave her an excuse to "air out" her bonded's weapon form. She had to admit, the weight of the bladed shovel on her shoulder felt nice. She may or may not be unconsciously seeking some excitement.

Normally her weapon would be grumbling at her to be more cautious, but Berto was surprisingly encouraging of Joy. Perhaps the House and its strange sense of humor picked up on the trainee and the weapon's unspoken desires. The passages seemed to dwindle in number and was leading her down specific paths and around corners.

Falair had never been to the critically acclaimed Haunted House before. And to be honest before now she hadn't had much interest in it either. Even now her reason for being here was minimal as well as her interest in the place. To say the least she was rather unimpressed and that was saying something for someone who spent most of their time studying the abnormal.

Or perhaps it was just abnormal to some.

Either way, the Famine Sage had found a nice little corner to stretch out in. Undisturbed and what appeared to be a least traveled space as none had crossed her path so far. It was a nice spot for a light snooze as she half pondered recent events.

Joy wasn't sure at what point in her rounds did she begin to hum a soft tune beneath her breath. She'd gone down several corridors and was halfway through the song before her partner began to express his disapproval of her behavior. He didn't say anything but the weight of it was more than enough to have the moon trainee pause.

She shouldn't be making any unnecessary noises, shouldn't be drawing any form of attention to herself. Except Joy reasoned she'd already gone down long enough with anything happening to her, she was due some entertainment. Even if that meant simply annoying her bonded. She pursed her lips and began to whistle a fast little ditty from her childhood while mentally telling the weapon to Lax-re, pare. Ain't no one here for you freak out ove-

Her thoughts derailed as she rounded the corner and came across someone. She stopped in her tracks, unconcerned that she was openly staring.

Her head propped up with her elbow dropped and snapped back up in an instant only to be propped up once again. This place was weird. The energy in this place was weird. Was that why she felt so sleepy? Normally Falair would have been up and alert. Exploring and observing.

But right now she could barely keep her eyes open.

And then someone was there. When had they arrived? Had they been there all along? Or was this person just a sleep induced hallucination? So many questions and variables but Falair wasn't in the mood to deal with her inquiring mind.

Brown eyes opened half way as she tried to focus on her nap intruder. The mare let out a rather loud, open mouthed yawn. Though it was hidden from view by her face mask. "What do you want?" It hadn't really hit her that this person was a Hunter, let alone any kind of possible threat.

Joy did not know how to proceed in this situation. "U-uh, I'm just looking around the place. A-are you okay?" she asked, wondering if this was a normal thing for Halloweeners to be doing. "Or do you, like, kwan, um, live here?" she adjusted the bladed shovel against her shoulder as she approached the masked woman.

Her bonded gave her mental shove, an unspoken warning to stay put that Joy's curiosity was fighting against.

Was she ok? That was perhaps a bit of an odd question but then....was she really truly ok? Falair had to ponder the question for a second while she continue to lounge on the floor.

"Why the concern?" She didn't know her and Falair most certainly didn't know this person. Though by now she had put two and two together really as to what this person exactly was, not that she cared much at this point and time. She wasn't attacking her and Falair had not the energy to really deal with such a situation.

Lazy is what most might call it.

"Pbbbt, I wish I lived here. This place seems a lot more interesting and less crowded."

"Well, uh," Joy wasn't sure how to proceed or respond to that. This was pretty much the first time she'd encountered anyone this lethargic? Was that the right word to describe this Halloweener-

No, not a Halloween citizen, Berto groused in the back of Joy's mind. And that really should have placed Joy on guard but come on, look at them. They weren't doing anything, except maybe taking a nap. Oh s**t, did she just disturb them?

"Aaah, the house isn't exactly stable? Tama ba yung term?" she mumbled the last sentence to herself, "Like, the walls move on their own when you're not looking. And sometimes even when you're looking." She glanced at the architecture pointedly, as if daring for it do prove her right.
