▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬┤|н ι ѕ т σ r у|├▬ Ewen was born and raised on the salt flats south of Sunagakure. He lived with his mother and father and helped them harvest salt for trade on the marketplace. Ewen never originally intended on entering the academy and becoming a ninja. Instead, he had dreams of becoming an ecologist for the area. In his free time, he would study the local weather conditions in the area, as well as the local fauna and flora.
When he was eleven, a lucrative trade deal went south for the family and his mother and father both died when the warehouse where they were dealing out of was raided. Ewen was left alone on the salt flats, now spending even more of his time harvesting the salt and keeping up the facade that nothing was wrong in the marketplace, just so he could go on living. Years went by and he grew not only in strength, but in intelligence as well, now needing to rely solely on his own skills.
When he was fourteen, he thought back to the raid and how it was conducted. He remembered the stoic nobility in the ninja conducting the raid and didn't hold his parent’s deaths against them. They had died at the hand of their trade partners when the raid first began, hoping to save themselves by disposing of witnesses. So, Ewen decided he would join the Academy. It took a few years for him to get through, having no previous direct experience, but he did graduate at the age of sixteen and became a Genin for Sunagakure.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬┤|н ι ѕ т σ r у|├▬ In the high mountains on the edge of Kirigakure in the Land of Water, sits a spartan cabin in which lived a family of three. A grandmother, a grandfather, and a child. This child was Adelmar, who had been sent to live with his grandparents in the high mountains away from everyone else when his parents had disappeared. After weeks of searching, the people in charge decided to call off the hunt and Adelmar was sent away.
When he arrived, he was quiet and detached from life, as one could expect. His grandparents understood and took care of him, giving him a place of comfort while he healed. Along the way, they told him stories of themselves and where they came from, long ago. These were stories that Adelmar had never heard before, for his parents were scared of their ancient heritage. They told of great feats and wonderful music and when they had finished their tales, Adelmare beamed.
Many years passed and he never forgot the stories which had returned him his life. He dedicated his time and spirit to the family he never had, and to the family he still did have in the form of grandparents. He spent less time outdoors than most, instead focusing his time and talent on any musical instrument he could lay his hands on. His grandparents, recognizing and encouraging his talent, were wont to find anything he quested for. He was a natural, a prodigy even, and his grandparents were very proud. It went on like this for a while longer and everyone was happy with the minimal amount of contact they had with the outside world.
Then, when he was fifteen, his grandparents both fell gravely ill around the same time. Stricken with fear and sadness, Adelmar spent all his time either caring for them, or singing and playing for their pleasure. That was the only thing that made them happy while the sickness ate away at their minds and memories. He'd sing and tell them the stories of their people, just like they had for him when he was young. Except, this time, he knew there was no coming back. When they passed in his seventeenth year, he mourned by himself for three days straight, playing until his fingers bled and his voice was gone.
Over time, he ventured out of the mountain house and into the local village he had only visited once or twice on errands. He was amazed by the skills of the shinobi he encountered and was adamant that he would be able to utilize their skills for something of his own. Something of music and something of his history that he had only thought legend and myth fabricated for song and prose until this point.
A goal and a hope, he entered the academy at the age of eighteen and graduated among the distaste of the younger students in his class. Still, he was one step closer to his new goals and excitement for the future was the emotion that held him together. He was ready to get better.
