Francis Schaeffer’s “How Should We Then Live” After 40 Years
October 27, 2016, Albert Mohler

The year 1976, the very year that many Americans came to know that evangelicals even existed, continues to reverberate throughout evangelical Christianity. The towering giants of the evangelical world at that time seemed to see our world in increasingly hopeful terms. The urgent cultural crises of the 1960s appeared to be in recession.

As we now know, it was not really so. In 1973 the Supreme Court handed down the Roe v. Wade decision legalizing abortion on demand nationwide. Revelation and the Book of Daniel are pretty clear things get worse before they get better :/

They are, but both books are optimistic books. In the end God reigns supremely forever despite all these things. No matter how dark things become darkness can never overcome the light. There's also hope to be found in seeing these things unfold because it is clear evidence that God is in charge. For the saints who live through this period they have a great witnessing opportunity also - they can pick up Daniel and Revelation to show people how the things written in these books unfold. Many people during that time harden their hearts, but we also learn that there's a multitude of Christians who are a product of the great tribulation.

Revelation 7:13-14
Then one of the elders addressed me: “These in white robes,” he asked, “who are they, and where have they come from?” “Sir, I answered, “you know.” So he replied, “These are the ones who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
