Obligatory couple of months ago, this occured.

Me: Hey dad, there is going to be a poster session in a few days (literally 3 day heads up, post me talking about it all last month)
Dad: I think I'm going to be busy on that day.
Me: Ok.
(Flashforward, good presentation, PI said I did well)
Me: *walking in door*
Dad: Where were you?
Me: Poster session.
Dad: I wish you had told me that, I would have stopped working for that.

(I did, guess you also glossed over that phone call I made to you like 4 hours before it started.)

Me: Dad, there is going to be a stream clean up tomorrow.
Dad: Where.
Me: By the supermarket near my campus and up towards campus.
Dad: Oh. When?
Me: At 9, but I'm going to drop of sister and go to the Lab to go help out before.
Dad: I'm going to want you to grease the truck and clean the floor tomorrow. *walks away*

(So.... Is that a yes?)

Me: *driving up hill to house*
Sister: I got you something.
Me: *questioningly* What?
Sister: I'll give it to you when we get home.
(park pickup, and get inside house)
Sister: *pulls out bag* Here.
Me: *opens* Holy shi.
(pile of classical music cassetes fall out)
Sister: Found em at a thrift shop. they were all in a row, ready to be taken.

(post city hall meeting; me, three other club members, and Dr. Lady)
Host lady: *walks up* You can take all this free water, and the remaining cookies. *started packing in sweetener and stirring straws too*
College students: Yeah!(not really, just generalizing)
(One student and I decide what to take)
Me: *walking away with bag of 7 waters, 10 cookies, and 3 more waters on hand*
Student: We know who here is the real college student.
Me: You never know when you need water. And I have to confess, I was addicted to cookies last year.

Me: *driving to Lab for event* This rain sucks.
(minutes before the event starts, weather clears)
Everyone: This is nice.
(event gets done)
Dr. Lady: Alright let's get a photo! squint and be happy! (click)
Me: (leaving lab) This rain sucks.  

[delasislas]

(At Lab event)
Dr. Nice Bio: Any one want rain gear? Found some.
Me: Sure! (They looked pretty good)
(minute later)
Dr. Nice Bio: You want rubber boots to go with it?
Me: Awesome!
(minute later)
Dr. Nice Bio: You want a slightly rusted duffel bag that looks pretty good.
Me: How else am I supposed to keep the pants and the boots together?  

[delasislas]

Me: (getting home)
Dad: I saw you at the supermarket, you were eating something.
Me: Yeah, the clean up event, they brought donuts. You could have stopped and chatted.  

[delasislas]

Me: *untying boots in garage after getting done greasing truck*
Dad: *opens door* What are you doing?
Me: ummm, uh. Untying my boots.
Dad: *shuts door*  

[delasislas]

(Driving home)
Me: You remember how you said that you would give me ten bucks for gas for taking you to work?
Sister: Yeah, I got you the cassetes.
Me: How much were they?
Sister: Like 10 bucks.
Me: You know you said that like 5 weeks ago.
Sister: Yeah, but I'm your favorite sister.
Me: You're my only sister.

Me: *looking at GPS*
Me: *looks sideways*
Me: F&*^ING ENGLISH HOLLY!!!
(Been dealing with it a lot)
