Adoptable Characters
There are some characters at both Western Weyr and High Reaches Weyr that are in need of some active writers! These positions might come with rank and RP responsibility, or are simply fun openings that anyone with the right concept can obtain!
If you're interested in applying for an Adoptable then this is the right thread!
The Rules
You must have already obtained art for dragonriders and wher handlers. If you do not have the art then you'll have to wait to adopt a character.
If a character comes with pre-made art you may adopt them but must keep the art with the character. If a character comes with pre-made character sheet, you can't tweak the sheet and must keep them as is.
Do not lay claim on an adoptable or discourage others from entering for them. While you may quest for an adoptable you MUST understand that someone else can snatch them up before your quest gets granted. Do not discourage folks from adopting! If your quest is adopted before you get it, you can tweak them to become your own OC.
If you wish to adopt someone from the list, please post in this thread the appropriate form!
If your form doesn't match with what we're hoping for, or somehow needs an overhaul, we might deny your request or ask you overhaul them.
If a character is from a particular area they are meant to stay there. Do not take dragonriders out of the Weyr! They were made specifically for that location and meant to stay.
This is first-come, first-serve.
Posting in the thread isn't enough to claim the adoptable. You will need to wait for our approval. Once approved, you may then make an official character sheet in the actual Approvals thread.
Adoptables can be added or removed at any given time. Some adoptable might even come with provided art -- so be sure to check back periodically! It's a good way to get new art!
High Ranking adoptables will likely be contested away and not found here. These adoptables are more general characters.
Some adoptables will come with name/color/rank/ages already in place. These must be kept and cannot be changed. Some adoptables also might have a general backstory or history -- while you can flesh out details, those things must stay in place.
We are doing away with an adoptable cool down, but please, do NOT go on some adoptable spree. Share the love! We ask you not to go crazy and pick up adoptables just because you can. Staff have the right to deny your adoption to allow time for others to pick up character, or ask you sit so many months out from adopting. Please, try to share the love, or we will go back to a forced cool down method.
If you're going for a dragonrider or wherhandler you MUST have matching art available before claiming them unless they come with their own art. We will post the art with the adoptable if that's the case.
If someone is approved to adopt a character they must make a character sheet within a month. We don't want to give away the characters only to have them never be used. If someone misses the month deadline staff has the right to put the character concept back up for adoption.

Hargon 68. Master Leathercrafter. He's been assigned to High Reaches Weyr for going on 18 Turns, though periodically gets assigned to a Hold or asked to return to the Hall now and then. He specializes in riding gear as well as tanning wherhide. Was once a weyrbrat who aged out and picked up the craft and began studying officially for the hall. Has 5 children, 2 of which are green riders, 1 of which is a Candidate, and the other is aged out. Kind of serious and intimidating but not a bad guy if you can handle his stern nature. Had a weyrmate by name of Marellia who rode green Zoth. She died during First Fall. Had either an affair or a Flight child with a lower caverns woman named Jarezia (54).
M'gon of green Velovuth 41. Formerly Margon. Hargon's oldest son. Impressed a green at Turn 21. Mother was a green rider named Marellia of green Zoth who died during First Fall.
Harellia of green Tinreth 35. Haragon's daughter. Impressed a green at Turn 24. Fraternal twin of Harolen. Mother was a green rider named Marellia of green Zoth who died during First Fall.
Lower Cavern's Worker Harolen 35. Haragon's son. Fraternal twin of Harellia. Is the blacksheep of the family. Didn't bother with a Craft, prefers instead to work in the lower caverns doing whatever Padmia needs. Strained relationship with his father, but not a bad relationship. Is in a relationship with a blue rider, D'stev of blue Eruth. Mother was a green rider named Marellia of green Zoth who died during First Fall.
Jarehar 24. Haragon's youngest son. Candidate, though close to aging out. Is determined to follow in his older siblings footsteps, but if not, will pick up a Craft. Less serious than his father. Mother is a lower caverns worker named Jerezia (54).

Stepped up to 'redeem' their family on the sands of High Reaches after Saed impressed and then fled from Western. B'nem & blue Gentrith: 49 Turns. Newly transferred wingrider. Tempermental and refuses to be trod upon because of his color of dragon. Weyrmates to F'res & green Siarth, who are still back at High Reaches Weyr. Tends to be loud, noisy, and defensive. Rumor has it back at High Reaches he threatened the Weyleadership, got into a brawl with his Wingleader, and most recently, made a drunken scene in front of the Weyrling Class (Tarot Clutch) encouraging death to traditionalists. Western Weyr took him in, but is watching his behavior.

Indeed I do! Do you understand, if accepted, you must make a character sheet within a month of getting adoption approval? Absolutely!
