Mmmm. Morning. Never the best time of day, especially not for a rather sleepy bear. Stretching. Arms reaching out for a figure that would normally be next to him. Finding her missing, he lurched upwards. Where was she? It wasn't all just a dream was it? Surely there was no way the last year had been the most intense dream of his relatively short life!
It only took a half second for his brain to catch up with reality. No, this wasn't some horrible nightmare. His wife, who he really wasn't worthy of, was most likely refreshing herself. She needed to take long and frequent breaks in the lakes and rivers. Ice blue eyes scanned their room, he'd specifically left out half the floor in this room for her. Along with many other things in their home, it was build for a naiad. A naiad and a half. The thought came with a grin. Nereus had adopted their daughter before they'd met, and he couldn't imagine a life without the pair.
Finding no sign of Nereus, Junior stretched again, finally getting out of bed. Maybe it was a lot later than he thought it was? It wasn't a hunting day, but it was odd to sleep in. No matter, he'd get to cooking something for her. Not a chance on the island could he ask Nereus to eat the same weird things he did before they'd met. Before the fateful night that united them forever. Shaking out of his reverie, the bright yellow pae slid his sunglasses on and started towards the kitchen. Cook something for the wife. Mission.
With a huge smile on his face, Junior trotted out of the room and towards the open sided kitchen. A blaze was still dangerous, even in a halfway aquatic home.

Stretching, a few loud pops coming from his back, Junior groaned in appreciation. Everyone always asked how he could stomach the noise, but it was really just a guilty pleasure of his. He grinned, cracking a few eggs into the pan before him. He'd have to go hunting soon, which meant it was about time to contact Cressy. She was always fun to have along on the trips. Hopefully she wouldn't be too busy.
Junior hummed quietly as he assembled breakfast, keeping his mind off the impending hunting trip. Vaguely, he wondered where the girls were. Nereus was undoubtedly in the ice cold waters, and Aysel would be with her if she was awake. Sommer... Sommer though, she might've snuck out. He shook his head, pushed his shades up his nose, and started slicing bread. The most amazing pae would be home soon, and surely she'd be hungry from her morning swim.
Oooh, that was a thought. He grinned more, showing off two pointy teeth. Afternoon swim with the girls. The water was just warm enough he could handle it as a bear. An evening alone with Nereus, just the two of them watching the sun meet the horizon. Oh yes. Briefly, he realized, this was never something he'd thought was possible. To love another with all his heart, and be content with just that. Maybe it was the heartache experienced with Ducky, and not being able to give her everything she wanted..
Junior shook his head again. He would not go down that path. Not today. Not ever again. There were amazing memories and grand times, but they were in the past. There will be more amazing times, and grand memories to make. Nereus is the most amazing pae he'd ever laid his icy blue eyes on.
During his mental rambling, Junior had managed to finish breakfast, and set it on their dining table. With a huge smile, the demon strolled through their home and started checking for their daughters. His mood was only slightly dampened when he found Sommer not at home, but not at all soured. She'd get an earful when she returned, and that was that.

Powerful fin propelled her forward and to their daughters room. A likewise hole had been cut in her floor, similar to the masters. Here she popped in, her head bobbing over the floor. "Ayyysel." The female softly cooed, looking towards the bed, sheets now dry from being soaked last night. Her daughter, though unable to form feet, never stopped loving land over water. Strange girl. It would've been more convenient for her to simply sleep in a knook against the shore, but no. The yellow girl refused.
But said yellow girl was not in her tossed sheet covers. She wasn't in her bed at all. As a frown creased her brow, suddenly she felt a tug at her fin. "Eep!" In a flash she dunked below to face this new threat. Only for a big, toothy grin to meet her flashing gaze.
"Sorry mom." The female grinned ear to ear, not the least bit sorry. "I've been up for a few minutes. Did you sleep well?" With her mother, Aysels usual shyness was gone. The stutter, the uncertainty, replaced with a normal bright eyed playful daughter.
The green naiad sighed at the 'apology' before shaking her head ruefully and reaching out to gently touch Aysels cheek. "Good morning sunrise. I slept quite well thank you. Is your sister-" A subtle noise up above cut off her sentence. With a blink, Nereus flashed back up through the hole in her daughters room. A brilliant smile spread across her face. "Why good morning Junior! Did you wake up Sommer?"
She leaned in slightly to the touch on her cheek in greeting before looking sheepish. No, the sprite already knew the answer. She had checked when she first woke up. She rose to the surface to pop up next to her mother through the opening. "Good morning dad." A little softer than with her mother, but she had known Junior since she was a child. The yellow girl knew the yellow polar bear was not her biological father -despite their shared body color- but he was the only dad she'd ever known and there was no hesitation in the warm title. After all, Nereus wasn't her biological mother either. And Sommer wasn't related to any of them at all.

Junior's heart jumped a beat as he heard Aysel's affectionate title for him. She may not have been his by blood, but she was his in everything else. That she considered him her father, it warmed the icy depths of his heart. The giant yellow demon couldn't be more thrilled to have such an amazing daughter, and he felt the same way about all of his girls.
"Good morning Beautiful~" He directed at his second youngest, grinning sheepishly. Behind rather dark sunglasses, his gaze moved to his wife, his grin first brightening at seeing her, followed by a mild grimace. "My Love!" He exclaimed, leaning on the door frame. "How was your morning swim?" Junior asked, trying to avoid the Sommer subject. By now Aysel most likely knew her sister wasn't home, and it wouldn't be long before Nereus knew either. That girl was going to make them all rip out their hair.
"Breakfast is ready when you're ready to come out of the water" He grinned again, back to the good mood he'd woken up in. How could he not wake up in an amazing mood, he was married to the best catch on the isle!
