The Sakura Matsuri - Japanese Street Festival is the largest one-day celebration of Japanese culture in the United States and is proud to be the grand finale of the National Cherry Blossom Festival. Performers and vendors travel from all over the country and the world to Washington, DC to share their love of Japanese culture and traditions with the Festival attendees.

The Sakura Matsuri – Japanese Street Festival is excited to return to the Capitol Riverfront Neighborhood in 2017 - anchored at the corner of M Street and New Jersey Avenue, SE.

This year, it's being held on April 8th(just over a week!), in the Navy Yard/Capitol Riverfront area of D.C.(over by where the Nationals play, if I remember correctly).

I know, it's not a convention, but I thought it might be of interest to those of us in the general area of D.C. Plus there are a lot of aspects relating to Japanese culture -- and there's even cosplay and stalls(?) selling anime merch.
