    Name: Aisling
    Age: 17
    Sex: Female
    Sexual Orientation: Demisexual (Hetero-leaning)
    Craft: Healer
    Rank: Apprentice
    Location: Western Weyr
Physical Description: Aisling is tall for a girl, with long limbs and a narrow build. She has an elegant look, pale skin and icy hazel eyes. Her hair is long, dark, and naturally wavy. Though she enjoys fussing over other people's hair, she does very little with her own, either leaving it down or tying it in a low ponytail at the side of her head. Although not particularly fashionable or flamboyant with her style, Ash has a good sense of taste. She is careful with her choice of clothes, and knows what looks good on her. For gathers, she prefers to wear dark green. Day to day, she dresses simply, and never wears anything past her elbows if she can help it. She doesn't like sleeves getting in her way when she works.
Personality: Aisling is extremely focused when she needs to be. She doesn't like anything to distract her while she's working. While concentrating, either on a task or on her studies, she can become completely absorbed in what she's is doing, to the point where she won't even notice people who are speaking directly to her. She can often lose track of time (and all else) when she gets in these moods, and will need someone to seriously prod her into taking a break- no small task, since she can be quite irritable if she is disturbed when she is trying to concentrate. A firm believer in near-radical honesty, she doesn't mince words at all and will tell you quite clearly if you are being a nuisance. White lies and flattery have never been her strong suits. But at least you always know where you stand with her!

Besides the occasional case of over-honesty, Aisling's manners are impeccable. She handles herself with an effortless grace, and is rarely seen to show anger, frustration, contempt, or other such unbecoming emotions. Even in the face of insults or aggression, she maintains her control; she is not easy to provoke. Although obviously it isn't true, watching her, you get the impression that's she's never not in complete command of her actions and herself. Above all, Aisling is respectful of others. She hates to impose, which is why she's never too forward about offering her assistance or consolation, although she will always help when asked. On the other hand, Aisling is not known for big displays of affection. She tends to keep her emotions in check, and wishes others would do the same. She doesn't mean to put people off, but this calm, frigid exterior, coupled with her sometimes brutal honesty, sometimes leads people to believe she dislikes them when she doesn't.

More than anything, Aisling loves to learn. Skills or experiences; she'll try anything once. With her effort and focus coming into play, she has an alarmingly steep learning curve; mastering new skills with great speed. She's not afraid of failing or looking foolish. If she has a question, however dumb, she will ask it- anything to solidify her understanding of a subject. She spends most of her time in thought, running arguments or experiments through her head, and takes advantage of every opportunity to test her theories or gain knowledge from others. She likes it when people argue with her. She's never afraid to be challenged, or hear a different point of view.

Aisling never shies from a challenge; she relishes them. The harder something is, the more worthwhile the endeavor. She's confident in herself and always willing to try. No matter what the task, she always brings full effort. She's equally fearless when it comes to sticking her neck out for others. She has a very strict sense of morality, and neither power nor rank nor the other person's ability to do her harm will ever factor into her decision. If someone has been wronged, she will defend them. If someone has done wrong, they should be brought to justice. It's as simple as that.

Positive Trait List Inquiring, Focused, Composed
Negative Trait List Frigid, Single-minded, Blunt
History: Aisling's ancestors were nomadic runner breeders that eventually settled down and founded a Hold. Though the small cothold eventually grew into a full Minor Hold, the people maintained a strong connection that history. Which is why, despite being a Holder's daughter, Aisling and her siblings were raised more like crafters, learning to take care of runners and other animals from an early age. Her father was a Master Beastcrafter that married into the Hold, and Aisling began to train under him when she was eight turns old, along with many of the Hold children. She showed particular promise in the medical aspect of beastcraft, demonstrating a keen eye for diagnosing and treating sick or injured animals.

At 12, Aisling finally expressed her interest in pursing Healing instead of Beastcraft to her parents. Despite their disappointment, she found them surprisingly supportive of her decision, and they even arranged for her travel to a larger nearby Hold where there was a Master Healer she could train with. She was her parent's fourth child, so at little risk of being in line to one day inherit the Hold. Thanks to the overlap of experience, Aisling was able to pick up on healing quickly, and had soon more than made up for her later-than-normal start. Two turns ago, Aisling was Searched by a rider who had come to the Hold on random business and, curious of the new experience, agreed to return with him to Western Weyr, so long as she could continue studying her craft.

Since the return of thread, Aisling feels an even greater motivation both to become a dragonrider, and to continue pursuing her craft. Drawing from her earlier experience as a beasthealer, Aisling is considering making a switch into dragonhealing, an art that had dwindled somewhat over the many turns without thread, though she's waiting to see if the Weyr needs more of one or the other. She has yet to hear from her family, and though she's sent a few letters, she hasn't heard back yet.
