Located in a small suburban area outside the city, this manor is dwarfed only by the extensive gardens surrounding it.

~ Rell ~

Rell simply shrugged once again as the woman spoke, at least it sounded like he wouldn't have to worry aobut the younger girl breaking anything. Though he knew not of every place in this world, he was inclined to agree with her regarding the warehouse. Still, there was no use dwelling on it as he lead them out. eager to be done with the day. Once they were buckled in, Rell started the car up and quickly moved them onto the main road, putting distance between them and the warehouse. Only just, hearing the daughter speak up, Rell took a quick glance at her through the rear vision mirror, focus quickly noticing her ears twitching this way and that. Eyes back onto the road, he had to think about the best way to describe their new 'master' for a second before speaking. "First, don't worry about calling me 'Mr', just call me Rell...and I'd say he wouldn't want you to call him 'master' either." He began. "To be honest, he's a little strange, it's hard to know what goes on in that head of his from time to time..." He trailed off for a second...'a little strange' was definitely an understatement, but he didn't want to be scaring the two of them off before they even met him. "...but he's a good man, or at least compared to others I've met. Never seen him angry, though I'm not sure if I've seen him cheerful before either." As they briefly stopped at a traffic light, he rubbed the back of his head, describing the other male on a personal level was harder than he thought. "Afraid I only know so much about him outside of work, I'm his agent more than his friend..." Trailing off once more, Rell turned his head just enough to glance back at the younger girl, even managing a slight smile as he did. "Who knows kiddo, maybe you'll learn more about him than I have." He added before turning his attention to the road.

True to his word, Rell didn't say much after that, focus on the journey as they moved away from the city. They turned off into a small suburb just as the sun was starting to touch the horizon, the area definitely looking like a place for people who were better off financially than the norm. The houses they passed were large, gardens were well kept and lawns almost a too perfect shade of green. The building that Rell pulled up in front of was no different, the only thing making it stand out was that there seemed to be far more plant-life around it. Turning off the car, Rell turned around to face the two females, nodding to the manor. "This is it." He said, unbuckling his seatbelt and stepping out of the car. Some of the lights were on in the house, but Rell's lips drew a thin line when he noticed a specific light coming from a certain window...he probably shouldn't be surprised that it was still on. As the other two got out, he glanced over to them for a moment. "The two of you have names, yes?" He asked. Though he had introduced himself earlier, he had never gotten their names, plus there was little actual paperwork during the purchase...since he'd be doing the introductions here, it was probably better than calling them 'slave one and slave two' or something stupid like that until they corrected him. With another gesture and locking the car, he lead the way once again towards the front door.

{Next post I'll be switching to Cale and leaving Rell as a secondary character as mentioned...hopefully I have better luck with his image than I am with the manor >.<}

Ren was slightly confused when Rell told her to just call him by his name but nodded though she was taught it to be rude for a kid to refer to adults as such let alone a master or mistress. And she nodded again when he said he didn’t think it appreciated her calling her new master by such a title. The kid couldn’t help but think it a bit odd but also didn’t question it much. As Rell went on to describe the master. “Strange, in what way?” She asked out loud as she listened to Rell go on about how it was hard to know what went through her new master’s mind. Though the young girl smiled when told her new master was a good man but she looked at her mom when Rell said the new master never seemed angry nor happy. Ren could sense Rell’s mood changing slightly as he stated she may learn more than he she smiled her cat like tail waiving happily behind her Ren looked up at her mom who smiled down at her before she ended up falling asleep holding her mom’s arm and snuggling with it.

After some time Ren felt her mom gently tapping her shoulder Ren stirred a moment before opening her eyes blinking a couple times before her hands reached up to rub the sleep away. She was confused for a moment as she felt her mom helping her sit up and then out of the car. It was only when she saw the huge house that everything came back and she smiled. “Is this master’s house, Mister?” She asked already forgetting Rell telling her it was best not to call him master but it wasn’t like she knew to call him anything else at that point. She looked up in awe of the huge house. “It’s huge!” She said. Red could feel her mom grapping her hand and followed her feet dragging as she was still sleepy and before long she was on her mom’s back and nuzzled into Alice’s shoulder but she was awed as they entered the huge house and she wondered what her new master was really like but the reason for Ren’s excitement was the same cause for Alice’s worry.

User Image Alice

Alice smiled as Rell answered Ren’s question about their new master and took in what he said as well, it made her feel slightly better having even the smallest idea of who was to own her and her daughter. She loved how Red was unafraid to ask questions and talk to Rell, but that could be because Alice had always protected Red from their past master’s anger. When she noticed Ren looking up at her Alice looked down with a motherly smile before Ren fell asleep. The kid had a big day and neither of them ever got much sleep in the cages so Alice decided to let the child sleep until they arrived at their master’s house. Though the rest of the ride was quite Alice didn’t mind as she simply stared out the window her thoughts stuck on wondering what their new master would be like.

When they parked Alice looked at the still sleeping Ren and gently tapped her shoulder smiling as the girl stirred slightly before opening her eyes. “We’re here now Ren, time to wake.” She said her voice gentle as she unbuckled Ren’s seatbelt and helped her out of the back of the car. Alice stretched a moment looking up at the building and the lights in the windows. Alice’s attention was drawn back to Rell when he asked for their names she gave a small nod. “My name is Alice and my daughter is Ren. I apologize for being so rude as not introduce myself sooner.” She replied. Holding Ren’s Hand Alice followed Rell inside but she quickly realized Ren was still sleepy and dragging her feet so Alice ended picking the kid up and carried her on her back easily enough though she noticed the kid was getting bigger and heavier.

Cale § Idris

Rell had more or less ignored the fact that the young girl calling him 'mister', though mostly because he was more concerned with moving on from today, nodding when she exclaimed at the size of the manor. "Most of the ground floor is pretty open, so finding your way around should be easy enough. The second floor is mostly hallways, but you'll get used to it." He said. Once he head their names put to memory, the older male opened the front door and gestured for them to follow him inside. The main hall was fairly spacious, but as Rell mentioned, it branched out into a number of large, doorless doorways, leading into various rooms. The only different one was a turn into a hallway to the right, a light somewhere further down illuminating it slightly. "He'll be this way...probably more often than he should..." He said, muttering the second part under his breath as he lead Alice and Ren towards it. The hallway was maybe a few strides long, but the room that it opened up into was easily the largest room in the manor, it's high ceiling a sign that it took up the space on the second floor as well. More attention-grabbing, however, were literally dozens of stone statues, all differing in shape, size and color. At the very end of the room, once the focus was pulled from the statues, stood a person with long red hair, back to them, the length of the room easily putting him at least 20 yards away. Though hard to tell initially from behind, their physique pointed more towards it being a male. This male was looking at one of the statues, a large stone lion in mid pounce, easily several feet taller than him. He seemed to reach up towards the paw of the stone beast, but did not touch it, merely making a gentle horizontal swiping motion with one finger. Though it made a slight grinding noise, anybody with a good eye would have noticed that one of the claws hand shifted alongside that movement. Stepping forward, Rell simply pinched the bridge of his nose slightly. "Cale!" He called out, voice echoing slightly in the near-cavernous room. Cale, as the other male seemed to be called, did not seem to react. In fact, he simply kept looking at the statue, moving a hand this way or that, the stone changing in tandem, as if he didn't hear him at all. "For the love of..." Rell muttered, glancing at a nearby table up against the wall. Moving towards it, he rummaged through the various items sitting on it until he picked up an elastic band and a square of paper. "Normally I'd walk over to him, but I figure it's fine learning ways to catch his attention." He said as he folded up the paper a couple of times. Placing the band around his thumb and finger to make a slingshot, Rell pulled back with the piece of paper, aimed briefly and then released it. The paper flew through the air with a slight spiral, stopping only as it hit Cale's finger just as he was about to make a swiping motion with it again.

With his finger nudged form it's focus point, Cale's eyes shifted to it, then to the piece of paper now on the ground. With almost slow, carefuly movements, he bent down and picked it up, staring at the paper for a second before looking over at the trio on the other side of the room. "About time kiddo, how long were you at this one?" Rell asked. Cale blinked lightly before it dawned on him what the other male was asking. "Oh." He said blankly, looking up at the lion from the corner of his eye. "An hour or two...? Maybe six?" He said, to which Rell merely sighed. "Well at least we're on time for dinner. This is Alice and Ren." He said, standing aside and gesturing to the females in question. "They'll be staying here for a while, making sure you're not going to collapse like you did last time." He added. With a slight tilt of his head, Cale's gaze moved to Alice and Ren. "I see...hello." He said simply, bowing his head lightly in greeting. "Don't mind him, he gets a little spacey for a moment if he's interrupted. Speaking of, basically all I need you two to do is keep an eye on him, make sure he doesn't overwork himself or skips eating. He's a scupltor, pretty obvious when you look at this room, so if you see him in here, just make note of the time and cut in if he's been at it for too long." Rell continued. "Anyway, like I said, about time for dinner. You too Cale." He said, gesturing for the three of them to follow to the dining room. With one last look at the statue behind him, Cale did what he was told, joining the group as they began to move, every now and then glancing at Alice and Ren in quiet curiosity.

Ren Stayed on her mom’s back as they entered the house, her mom following Rel she looked around in awe of the inside. It was really nice and open feeling, after being in the small cage she’d shared with her mom only a short time ago the inside of the house was gigantic! She heard Rell explaining that the down stairs was mostly open and easy to get around but the upstairs was mostly hallways though that didn’t matter much to the kid as it didn’t make her any more or less eager to explore the huge building than she already was. Her tail wagged eagerly as her eyes struggled to take everything in as her mom followed Rell to a huge room filled with giant statues of all shapes and colors. The kid Gasped in awe and looked around. She struggled to get down a moment before her mom let her but quickly took her hand before Ren was able to move away, wanting to get a better look of the statues. Though a loud grinding noise echoed in the room causing the girl to jump slightly and reach her hand up to her ears as it was really loud. She looked around her eyes wide from being startled, her fur fluffed up as she tried to find the cause of such noise. Her eyes landed on a male at the other end of the room who seemed to be doing something to one of the statues. “What’s he doing?” She asked, though her voice was lost as Rell stepped forward and called out to the other male in the room, her ears twitching, though she relaxed again, though she wasn’t a fan of the noise made when the statue moved.

She distracted herself watching Rell make a rubber band slingshot and folding a piece of paper and giggled as the paper hit the red headed male’s finger, she didn’t know such things were typically considered rude she just found it fun and showed she did. She watched the red haired male bend down and look at the paper Rell hit him with a moment before looking at them. Ren still giggling slightly as she found his spacieness funny as Rell spoke to him again, though Ren lost interest in the exchange and took interest in the various statues once again before she heard Rell saying her mom’s name and felt her mom shift she looked at her before clumsily trying to copy her mom’s movement, her tail swayed for balance as her hand gripped her mom’s tighter as well. When she felt her mom shift again Ren followed, smiling at the red haired male eagerly, he didn’t smell mean like the other people she met, so she wasn’t scared of him, she found him funny. She heard Rell talking to her mom about not letting their master over work or skip eating, but she wondered how anyone could skip food when it was available for them, she was always hungry but had learned not to complain as it made past masters angry at her and her mom. She watched as the red haired male walked over to join them when Rell told him to come with them as well to eat. She walked with her mom just behind the red head though her steps were more eager as she looked up at him with awe showing in her eyes, it wasn’t long before she started trying to start a conversation. “What’s a scupotor? What were you doing in there to that stone? How were you moving it like that?” She asked unable to hold her curiosity and wanting to learn. “Do you spend a lot of time doing that?” She asked though her questions were slowing down to a point as if to give the male a chance to answer them more questions popped into the kid’s head.

User Image Alice

Alice paid attention when Rell stated that the ground floor was pretty open and easy to get around while the 2nd floor was mostly halls. That was good to know though if they were given the chance she would like to look around herself to get a feel for the lay out and she had no doubt that Ren would be quick to go off exploring the second she got a chance to slip away. Ren was used to going from one master’s house to another and so wasn’t hesitant to explore and make it home herself as that was the only life she knew. Alice however, being the adult, was a bit more hesitant as she was afraid of settling down somewhere too much in fear she’d be sold again if she did. Alice looked around as they entered behind Rell, looking into each door less room they passed of their way to the one with a light on. She heard Rell stating that was where their master would most likely be more than not. Though she heard him mutter something else she only caught one or two words herself though Ren’s small giggle told her the kid heard everything. As they entered Alice couldn’t help but stop and look around the huge, high celling, room they had entered. It will filled with statues each different than the others it was amazing as Alice’s eyes almost missed the male standing at the other end of the room had it not been for the statured beast in front of him set as if pouncing on its prey. ‘That must be the master then.’ She thought absent mindedly setting Ren down and taking the girl’s hand as Ren seemed to have fully woken up from her nap again. Alice was afraid if she didn’t hold on to Ren the girl would start her exploring as young kids are prone to do. She heard a grinding sound after a moment as the male seemed to do something with the statue to cause the noise and then looked down as she felt her hand being moved to see Ren holding her sensitive dog ears. The sound must have startled her as Ren wasn’t a fan on sudden or loud noises as they tended to be louder for her than they were for most others.

Alice looked up again at Rell as he called a name and guessed that was the master’s name though the male in front of the statue didn’t seem to take notice there was anyone behind him as he was engorged in the statue. She watched as Rell took a paper and rubber band off a table and began to set it up like a slingshot. “Is it often hard to get his attention?” She asked, figuring it was a reasonable question. She’d have to learn as much about her new master as she could to be able to do the job she’d been bought to do with as few mistakes as possible. Alice took note as the male, Cale, slowly looked at his finger than to the paper on the ground picking it up looking at it for a time before finally seeming to notice there were others in the room. ‘He must have been extremely focused on his work.’ Alice thought a small smile showing on her expression. Though her thoughts were interrupted by Rell’s voice, once again addressing the male, a response coming from the master a few moments later as he still seemed slightly confused, and his reply showed he’d seemingly lost any concept of time while he was working. When Rell introduced her Alice gave a light bow, she could feel Ren’s grip on her hand tighten as she attempted giving an easier and sloppier bow beside her mom, trying to copy her. She straightened up again a couple moments after Cale said Hello and then nodded when Rell explained to her Cale was spacy a bit after they got his attention and then that her job was make sure he didn’t over work himself or forget to eat. “Understood, are there certain times I have check on him for sure at, or more when I notice he’s been at it for so many hours?” She asked wanting to know more of what was expected of her though she knew that finding a good rhythm would take a few days to a couple weeks to really get used to it and everything the more she knew to begin with the easier it would be to adjust to this master and her new job in the house. Alice nodded when Rell mentioned again it was time for dinner waiting for Cale to join then walking behind him slightly as they followed Rell, Alice paid attention to the path they took from Cale’s sculpting room. She chuckled as Ren wasted no time trying to make friends with their new master as she was yet to be told to shut up by Rell of her mom there was nothing stopping her.

OOC: Its fine, I understand. I kind of used Ren as an ice breaker and that, hopefully it’s not too much but I thought it could open up for a cute little conversation and maybe help you get some ideas again as well as some character interaction opening up.

Cale § Idris

Rell had given a noncommittal shrug when Alice asked about getting Cale's attention. "Some days calling his name works...other's it's like trying to get an answer from one of his statues." He explained. As they began to walk, the grey-haired male had to think for a second regarding when to check for him. "Anywhere in the afternoon's generally the problem time...unless you've seen him already, best to check before dinner and when it's starting to get late." He said, knowing all too well that if Cale started at night when everyone else was asleep that he'd potentially sculpt right up until dawn. Speaking of Cale, no longer out of it but still remaining quiet, simply let his gaze shift to Rell and occaisionally glance back at the two females. Though he definitely knew the reason why they'd be here, he didn't really understand why. He couldn't leave a statue unfinished, what if his motivation or inspiration for the piece vanished before he came back to it? Blacking out wasn't so bad, was it? That was his body deciding when it actually needed the rest...being able to continue without pause for so long was just how his body operated, right? He wandered these things and more, but was quickly pulled away from that train of thought when the little one, Ren if he heard right, asked him a question. Looking to her, he had opened his mouth to answer, but another question immediately followed. Pausing, Cale titled his head slightly, not prepared in the slightest for the sudden rush of questions. "How...odd..." He thought, not really having much experience around children and thus didn't know how boundless their curiosity could be. When her questions slowed down, he took it as his turn to speak, trying to keep a list of what she had asked in his head and answered them in order as best he could. "A sculptor is someone who makes statues. I was trying to make sure the lion's claw was in the right spot so it didn't look strange, but also so it wouldn't fall off." He said. "I'm an Elemental of stone..." He added, pausing as he thought of how best to answer her third question. The answer to that came to Cale's mind short after as he dug into one of his pockets, pulling out what looked like a marble, but was made out of what appeared to be rock. Holding it out in the palm of his hand, the object suddenly lifted about an inch off of his hand, levitating there and bobbing up and down slightly with each step. "I can move and shape rocks with just my thoughts and feelings." He said. As if on cue, the marble seemed to break down at the bottom, pooling back into his hand like sand. Once it was completely finished, however, the sand seemed to float back up right away and clump together, condensing until it was in the shape of a cube, just as smooth as the sphere it had once been. Slowing down just a little until he was walking next to Ren, he offered it to her. "It won't break or crumble unless I make it...I can change the shape to something else if you want." He added, not really sure what a young girl would like as far as statuettes were concerned. It was Rell, however, that answered Ren's last question. "If it's a large or complicated sculpture, there's a good chance that'll be the only thing he does in a day." He said, not looking back as he lead them through to the dining room.

Though still somewhat large, the dining room was nowhere near as big as the sculpting room, a rectangular table taking up most of the center, plates and cutlery already set out. Thoiugh the doorway they entered had no door, there was one on the opposite wall, hinges indicating that it swung both ways to allow someone carrying something through with little hassle. There were six chairs in total, two on each long side, one at both of the shorter ones. Out of habit, Cale took one of the single chairs, Rell taking the opposite one on the other side before gesturing for Alice and Ren to sit where they wanted. "We have a couple of kitchen staff that take care of the meals...feel free to enter the kitchen and make something yourself, but they get snippy if you get in the way while they work." He explained. "Best to let them know if you have any allergies. Told them they'd be cooking for more than two now, so chances are there's a couple things you can eat instead if one has anything you can't eat." As if on cue a man and woman, both looking older than Cale and Alice but just shy of Rell, came through the door, wearing cooking uniforms and carrying a few large, covered dishes with ease that came with experience doing such work. Both bowed their heads respectfully to the group before lifting up the lids and making their way back through the door to the kitchen. Dinner tonight seemed to be simple, a choice of roast beef, lamb cutlets and various vegetables, a pot of gravy accompanying it as well. Looking to both girls, Cale gestured for them to start...though he didn't have guests often, he knew that it was good manners to let them take what they wanted first. Rell too waited, though that was more to see if the food was actually decent.

{Though I don't think I intended for him to be as quiet as he is here when I created him, Cale's uncertainty with children can definitely lead to a bit of fun moments along the way, so using her as an ice breaker was a good way to go if you ask me ^^}

Ren nodded when he said a sculptor was someone who makes statues and gave it a bit of thought but not too much. “Like how a cook makes food?” She asked as she tried to understand it. “What’s an element? And why stone?” She asked as he told her what he was, but she was still young and hadn’t met an elemental before so she didn’t know what that was really. She tilted her head slightly as Cale dug though his pocket for something but didn’t say anything as she wondered what he was doing before he pulled out a marble type thing and she looked at it as it started to float slightly above his hand. She wondered what he was going to do with it. She nodded when he said he could move and shape rocks by thinking it and with his feelings. She gasped as the rock marble the small grain like pieces pooling in his hand. But she smiled as they started floating again before shaping into a cube. “Wow!!!” She gasped her tail waking happily in amazement as her eyes lit up. She watched him slow down to walk beside her before offering the cube to her she smiled. “R really?” She asked “C-could you make it a doggy?" She asked a cute blush on her cheeks as she asked him that. She watched him before hesitantly reaching out her hand to take the cube half expecting him to pull the cube away and laugh at her like the people at the shop always did. Ren looked up at the older male as he decided to answer her last question in her original string of questions. She thought about it letting the information a moment. “Doesn’t it get boring though? If that’s all you do in one day? And want about hunger, or getting bored?” She asked concern in her expression.

Ren smiled when they entered the dining room and saw the table set up already but the food hadn’t yet been brought out she could smell the amazing scents from the kitchen. Her ears twitched as she smiled and followed her mom to some seats, she took the seat next to Cale sitting on his right her legs dangling from the chair a bit as her mom sat on her other side Ren who fiddled with the cube stone Cale had given her not really paying attention to what Rell way saying beyond the warning to not get in the kitchen staff’s way if they got something from the kitchen. Though she looked up when her ears heard the swinging doors opening and saw two people in chief uniforms carrying dished which the girl smelled the scent of food coming from. She smiled her mouthwatering as the smell was much better than anything they’d ever been given at the slave shops. She watched as the two set the food out for them lifting the lids to revel the yummy smelling, and looking, food. Ren saw Cale gesture toward them to start and watched her mom nod before she started to dish out a bit of roast beef and vegetables out on her daughters plate before getting a small about for herself, not much more than the small child’s amount she’d given her daughter. Ren waited until she saw her mom starting to eat before she dug in herself. When she did however Ren smiled happily and enjoyed the food as she gobbled it up enjoying every bite even though it would seem she’d simply inhaled every bite as she was defiantly a hungry girl.

User Image Alice

Alice Nodded when Rell said that sometimes just calling for Cale worked to get his attention while other days it was more of a challenge and she couldn’t help the small laugh that escaped her lips. “So on days he’s become one of his statues is it safe to say that as long as no harm is brought to him I can do about anything to get his attention?” She asked once she was able to speak without small signs of her laughing. She nodded when he told her good times to check for Cale, taking note of them. She could tell already that if Cale got involved in his work he wouldn’t know when to stop without being told and the fact he lost all track of time while Rell was gone in his search for someone to help take care of Cale. She smiled as she looked at Ren interacting with Cale and smiled as he answered the kid’s questions. It was good to see that Ren seemed to like Cale already. Though she knew her daughter would like being with just about anyone who would talk to her and was nice to her, it wasn’t something a slave got often and it saddened Alice that Ren already had to know and accept that as her life.

As they entered the dining room Alice looked around and smiled as she saw the table set and she could smell something coming from another room that smelled amazing. She watched the two men take their seats and Ren sit next to Cale eagerly so Alice decided to let her daughter pick and she sat on the girl’s other side, closer to Rell as she wanted to be closer to her daughter until they were adjusted and to protect her if she needed to. Alice nodded when Rell said the kitchen stall took care of the meals but she was welcome to fix something herself if she wished as long as she didn’t get in their way. “That’s fair enough, it’s similar almost anywhere we’ve been so they won’t have to worry about us getting in their way.” She replied looking up to see the two chiefs enter the dining room with large dishes of food. She smiled an embarrassed blush when Cale gestured for her and Ren to start, she was careful not to take too much of the food, though the portion was about right for Ren who was still a kid it was definitely more than a bit under portioned for an adult but Alice knew better than take too much and didn’t want to mess up any chance of a good home for her and her daughter because of something she knew better for. Alice was treading lightly with her new masters for her sake as well as for Ren. Though she dished up their food first she still waited for Cale to take the first bite as he was the head of the house and it was only right.

OOC: It’s fine, sometimes characters end up a bit different in a RP than they look to be in the profile as they kind of take on their own personality in different situations and the like. And I’m looking forward for them to have some fun moments! Haha I’m glad, it kind of seemed like Cale wouldn’t start a conversation on his own, and I get it that’s just how his personality seems to be unfolding right now, so I thought it would be a cute moment for Ren to kind of shine and be a typical kid. I thought it was cute him offering her the cube.

Cale § Idris

Cale nodded at Ren's comparison, though he supposed cooks weren't nearly as limited as to what materials they chose to use. Her next questions threw him off just a little...why stone? To that, Cale shook his head slowly. "An elemental is someone who can control or create a certain part of nature. I didn't choose stone, I was...born a Stone Elemental." He explained, pausing just a moment at the choice of the word 'born'. Was that technically correct? Whatever the case, his focus returned to Ren as he handed her the small object, briefly noticing her tail as it swayed in reaction. Though he was unphased by the presence of other species, he couldn't help but notice that Alice didn't share the younger girl's animal apendages. He would've asked, had Ren's request caught his attention. With a nod of confirmation as he motioned for her to lay out her hand like he had done before and began reshaping the cube, once again letting it crumble in on itself as he answered her next set of questions. "Not at all...each statue, even the ones I make on requests from others, has their own stories..." As he trailed off, he carefully aimed the fingertips of his right hand at the pile currently sitting idly in Ren's palm. With a sudden twitch of his index finger, some of the sand began to move, circling in a small upward spiral. With a twitch of his ring finger, a different swirl began beside it. "The statues I create by myself depict things I've seen or heard about, or things I've thought I've seen or want to see. Sometimes they tell a story of something that happened or could happen. This statue that I'm making now, for example, can represent us meeting today. As for hunger, I'm used to not eating for a long time..." As he spoke, his fingers never stopped moving, each one almost independent of one another, expertly controlling some amount of the sandy mass in Ren's hand...and very quickly starting to take shape. As the pair were doing this, Rell held back a smirk of his own. "Well, if a good clip across the ear's the only way to grab his attention, I'm willing to see it as an act of duty." He replied. He wouldn't expect Cale to be that far gone, but the male has surprised him in the past before. By the time they had reached the dining room, the former cube was now a statuette of a small beagle, sitting down and tail seemingly in the middle of wagging, the sculpture itself rather detailed, the ears even looked like they'd be floppy if they were poked. "I...hope that's acceptable." He said, gaze briefly flicking from the dog to Ren. Even with something as small as this, Cale was a perfectionist when it came to his work, even the slightest of details had to be changed if it was deemed sub-par.

As they sat and plated up, Cale tilted his head just a little as Alice blushed and, more importantly, didn't budge. Did they not like the foods provided? Was there something misunderstood in his gesture? Before he pondered too much further, Rell spoke up, though not until he finished a heavy sigh. "Eat, all of you." He said simply, no longer waiting himself as he began...there was no way he was letting himself get hungrier just because one of them was being polite and the other was being thick. Not sure exactly what was going on, Cale decided to follow Rell's instructions and eat, glancing back at Alice and Ren as they too started. Cale's pace was much like his sculpting: steady but careful, as if dropping anything between the trip from the plate to his mouth would ruin the dish. The same, it seemed, could not be said for the young girl, practically devouring the meal in front of her. Rell let out a short cough of a laugh. "Kid certainly has an apetite, hopefully Cale learns a thing or two about how important eating is." He said, rolling his eyes behind his glasses when Cale gave him a quizzical look. Turning to Alice, he gave a small shrug. "Well at least the cooks'll be happy someone appreciates the meals. Don't be shy." He said, nodding to the older woman's plate. The way Ren was eating so much, there was no way Alice wasn't just as hungry if not more so. Though he was never one for kids, Rell wouldn't be surprised if Ren was given the lions share of any food given Alice's attachment to her. "Anyway, we're going to have to do something about clothing, don't have to be psychic to know you'd probably prefer not to wear the same thing every day." He said, leaning back in his chair for just a moment. "Cale, you'll have to take them into the city tomorrow, I've got to be at the airport before dawn." He said, to which the red haired male simply nodded, before turning his attention back to Alice. "I'll be out of the state for a week or two, but I'll leave my number with you if there's an emergency. The kitchen staff should be able to help if you have questions while Cale's spaced out." He explained before returning to his meal. As a momentary silence, save for the occaisional clang of cutlery, it was Cale's turn to speak. "Let me know when you're ready to go tomorrow. I'll be awake at dawn." He said to Alice...Rell would've been impressed by the man's acceptance of the plan for tomorrow...if he hadn't been so sure why he would be awake so early.

{Gah! So sorry for the wait! Work's made the past few weeks pretty difficult to find time to post T~T}

Ren thought about it a moment when Cale said he was born a stone element. “So you were born being able to control stone?” She asked. “That’s cool!” She added with a giggle. She nodded when he had her hold her hand straight and was quick to do so. Once her hand was flat she watched in awe as Cale made the stone crumble into her hand as it had done before in his. Her eyes would dart between the crumbled stone and Cale as he started to re shape it. She looked up when he started to tell her that every one of his statues had a story before trailing off as he focused on what he was doing for a bit. Ren, for once, didn’t seem to mind much the lack of conversation as she was too occupied in watching him reshape the stone, the crumbled stone swirling then another swirl starting up before he started to talk again continuing his train of thought. Her ears twitching as he spoke, and she also nodded showing she was listening though her eyes were glued to the swirling sand. The conversation between her mom and Rell was long gone as was anything else going on around them as they walked and Rell showed her his ability as a stone elemental. As he said that the statue he was making for her marked their first meeting and her already huge grin somehow managed to become bigger. But when he said that he was used to not eating to a long time her smile seemed to drop a bit as a look of concern showed. “But if you don’t eat how do you work so much without getting hungry? My tummy hurts really badly when we don’t eat…Doesn't your tommy hurt when you get hungry?” She replied though most adults might see her reaction as overly concerned it seemed like a really concerning thing to Ren’s childish mind. Ren looked at the small statue of the dog in her hand and her grin returned as her tail wagged excitedly as she looked at the statue then back at Cale for only a moment before she hugged him as tightly as she could, which wasn’t really very tight to an adult. After a moment she released him from the hug her smile still present on her face. “Thank you so much! I love it!” She replied.

Ren looked up at her mom when Rell said for everyone to eat but waited until her mom started eating before she did. She knew better than to eat before her mom said she could, if she ate too soon their past masters and the store employees would be mad, so she waited till her mom ate because they didn’t seem so mad then. Ren paused a moment in her eating, if it could even be called that as Rell commented about her appetite, and Cale learning something about the importance of eating but even then she was practically shelving food into her mouth as if she was afraid that if she didn’t eat quickly her food would disappear. Ren was aware of the conversation but didn’t think much of it, it didn’t seem like it had much to do with her, at least not in that moment.

Alice smiled and nodded as Rell said that he would see it as an act of duty. “That sound’s fair, though I will attempt to get his attention in gentler ways, However I wanted your permission as you seem to know him the best and so I wanted to ask you first.” She replied. Alice looked back to see Ren still talking to Cale and him showing her how he shaped the stone. She was glad Ren seemed to really like Cale but she wasn’t sure yet about them. It was only a matter of time before someone mentioned the fact that Ren has the ears and tail and she didn’t. They always did, though it wasn’t impossible for a human to have a child of another race it wasn’t commonly advertised with in the slave trade or outside it when it did happen so it always raised questions that Ren was with Alice.

Alice gave a small chuckle at Rell’s comment. “Ren has quite the appetite, but she is growing still.” She replied not touching the other part of the older male’s comment about Cale learning the importance of eating. She took smaller bites that Ren, and seemed to taste the food though she was starving she tried not to show it, mostly for her daughter’s sake she knew it would hurt Ren to know how hungry she really was. She was a bit hesitant when Rell told her not to be shy but she couldn’t help it. One of the reasons was because she knew if she ate too much her stomach would hurt as she wasn’t used to eating so much. It happened before when she was first taken and Ren had been fully weaned they cut the amount of food given to Alice in shop and then when she was sold the master he fed them well because of Ren being so young but Alice was sick almost the entire time they were there until they found the cause. Alice looked up again as Rell mentioned getting them more cloths. “That would be nice.” She replied. She gave a small nod when Rell said he would be out of town for a week or two. “Alright, I understand. Enjoy your trip.” She replied a bit disappointed that she wouldn’t be able to get a sense of the normal routine of the place first but she would figure something out, she would have to. It also explained his eagerness to buy her and her daughter and get them home so quickly, though maybe that was also just as much his personality. When Cale spoke Alice again nodded. “Alright, I can be ready any time really, but how about we go after breakfast?” She asked getting a sense that she would have to kind of take initiative with Cale as he seemed to be easily distracted by his work and by stating a time would also help her to be ready on time as well as have Ren up and ready. If it hadn’t of been for Rell telling her already to be sure to check on Cale before bed she would have been impressed by how early he wanted to get up, though as Rell had already informed her the elemental would work through the night if given the chance it didn’t come as so much a surprise that he would wake so early for the same reason.

OOC: I get it, I've been busy myself, you just happened to reply the day before my days off this week is the only reason my reply is so "fast" this time.

Cale § Idris

Cale could only tilt his head in mild surprise as Ren hugged him, careful not to lose balance as he nodded in acknowledgement as she thanked him. Looking to Rell, the other male had simply shrugged, that had been the sculptors moment to deal with "Odd." He thought again, though did not react any further. When everyone was finished eating, Rell stretched momentarily before getting out of his chair, the cooks from earlier arrived and took the now empty plates away for washing mere seconds after. "Cale, how about you show them where the bathrooms upstairs and where they'll be sleeping are, you'll know the rooms." He said, waiting for Cale to nod before turning his attention to Alice. "Both rooms have queen-size beds, so if you prefer to stay in the same room take your pick." He explained. Though he wasn't going to mention it, his memory of seeing Ren be near torn away from Alice made him certain she was going to be keeping her daughter close for at least a couple of nights, not that it mattered to him how they chose to sleep. "As for me I'm calling it a night, don't enter the last room down the hall unless it's an emergency...and that emergency better be a threat to my life if it's going to wake me up." He said, making his way out of the dining room, pausing for just a moment before looking over his shoulder at the trio. "The three of you better behave while I'm gone...last thing we need is another PR riot around this place..." He said, muttering the last part as he left from sight. Soon, Cale too was standing, pushing his seat into it's original spot before glancing at Alice and Ren. It was going to take some time to adjust to having more people around, but they seemed nice enough. "Shall we?" He said flatly, gesturing towards the same door Rell disappeared through.

Before long, Cale, Alice and Ren were moving upstairs, the main hallway on the second floor just as long as the ground floor one, though a bit more narrow. There were a number of doors along both walls and, as Rell had implied being his room, one on the far wall. "This one is mine..." He said, nodding to the door on the left before opening the door immediately on the right. Though it was obvious, Cale identified this as the bathroom, bright tiles lining the floor. Against the far wall was a combination shower and bath, the latter part easily big enough for multiple people. On the wall to their left was the sink and a washing basin, to their right a linen closet, a couple of towels already hanging on the nearby towel racks."We might be low on shampoo soon." He said idly, briefly grabbing a lock of his crimson hair in between finger and thumb and glancing down at it. It was clean, but he probably didn't maintain it as well as one could...though more time spent grooming lead to less time spent sculpting. Moving on to the next pair of doors on the left wall, Cale noticed both of them open very slightly, these were probably the ones Rell was talking about. "According to Rell, both of these are yours." He said, carefully pushing both doors open...he himself was a little curious, he hadn't really looked inside these rooms recently. Both were more or less the same, spacious, the aforementioned large beds touching wall with their headboards. Both of them had windows with a small nook in front for sitting or laying on, a few shelves and drawers up against various walls, just different enough to make the rooms not look identical. Cale glanced at both, taking in the various differences between what was here and what he could remember not being there before...how far had Rell planned this in advance? Well, time definitely changed for the red-haired male depending on what he was doing, for all he knew he had this all done today without him noticing. "When you finish settling in, was there anything you need or would like to do or see still?" He then asked, figuring that he should at least see if they needed anything else before departing onto his own devices.

Alice and Ren!
User Image User Image

Ren looked up at Cale as he hardly reacted to her hug and released him before showing her mom the small sculpture. Alice smiled as Ren practically shoved it in her face as kids her age are known for doing. “Very cool, Ren.” She laughed as she patted the young girl’s head. “Thank you so much, she’s going to be carrying that everywhere she goes now.” She laughed as she thanked Cale as Ren went back to walking next to the male. After eating Ren had gone back to happily admiring the sculpture what the others were talking about didn’t matter to her. Alice, however was paying attention to what was going on, glad that Ren was sitting still on her own and not running around with her seemingly boundless energy. Alice nodded when Rell said she could choose to share with Ren or they could have their own rooms. “Thank-you.” She replied though she was most defiantly going to keep Ren close for as long as she could, she never knew when the day would come that her little girl would be taken from her. “I understand. Do sleep well and I hope your trip goes well.” She replied as she was unsure if she would actually see Rell before he left early the next morning. As Cale started to stand up Alice did the same, pushing in her chair before tapping Ren’s shoulder and picking her up, holding the kid in one arm and pushing in the chair with the other. Ren was content being carried and rested her head on her mom’s shoulder. The familiar scent was comforting to her as her tail swayed contently back and forth. She nodded and followed Cale out of the dining room as she paid attention to what they passed and landmarks she could use to help her find her way around.

Alice also paid attention as Cale showed her his room as well as the bathroom, she nodded when he mentioned they may be getting low on shampoo. They were soon being shown to two other rooms with doors ajar and it was apparent then that Cale probably didn’t know about Rell’s plains, or at least hadn’t thought about it at the least. As Cale pushed the doors open Alice looked at them, the rooms were more than Alice had learned to hope for any more as anything that wasn’t the cage in the shop was welcomed to her. Alice looked back at the red haired male as he spoke again asking about anything she had to do once getting settled in. She thought a moment as Ren shifted in her arms, yawning she looked at Cale and smiled “Tomorrow can we explore?” She asked tilting her head. Since eating Ren had a full stomach and a long day so she was pretty sleepy and Alice planned on taking advantage of that by putting the kid to sleep for the night. But she smiled as her girl asked about exploring, though Ren was just carious and wanted to explore as much as she possibly could. Though Alice knew she would need to look around herself to start to get a feel of the lay out so she would be able to get around. “I think for tonight I’m going to put Ren to bed and then start getting ready myself.” She replied. “How about you, are you going to go back to your sculpture or turn in?” She asked before thinking she should rephrase her question “I mean, what do you normally do after dinner?” She asked him, trying to get an idea of the routine though it seemed that she would just have work it out as they went.

OOC: I changed the format a bit and combined them, just a bit easier that way I think... I wish I knew more coding because I'd totally make this a bit more cutesy for Ren. Haha

Cale § Idris

Rell had simply shrugged in acknowledgement when Alice wished him well, one way or the other he was bound to be put into some tiresome situation, as per his luck tended to lean towards. Whilst he had no real worry about the woman and her daughter causing trouble, he did wonder how Cale would actually respond to being exposed to someone other than himself for such an unestimable time. He had known the other male for more years than he'd care to admit and he'd barely scratched the surface of what made the red-haired sculptor tick. Still, he couldn't let his thoughts carry on much longer, he needed the few hours of sleep he could get now or the entire trip would just be a snowball of disaster. Though he did not comment on it, Cale did take notice of Alice carrying Ren, not to mention the way the little girl seemed to relax the moment her mother did so. He didn't how one could relaz like that, nor did he think he'd really understand, but the moment was captured in his mind like everything else, saved away to either recall some other time or to put into stone if decidedly necessary. As their quick tour of the second floor had concluded, Cale turned to Ren at the suggestion of looking around tomorrow. She did seem tired, plus there wasn't much left on the inside of the house to see and it was far too dark to go outside now. With a small nod in agreement, he then turned his attention to Alice, who also appeared to be ready to call it a night. At the mention of his sculpture, Cale tilted his head just a fraction before Alice changed her question to what he notmally did at this time. "I promised Rell I wouldn't continue after dinner this time..." He said, trailing off to remember the moment. Yes, Cale would have just kept on sculpting well into the night had the older man not returned, but technically he wouldn't have had dinner and therefore there was no 'after' to break his promise on. However, he had eaten and a promise was a promise. "There is a couple of things I have to do before I turn in for the night, but it shouldn't take me long." He said, glancing from Alice to Ren and back again. "Sleep well, Alice and Ren." He then added, offering a light bow of his head before slowly making his way out the door.

{ugh, sorry on two parts. One for the delay, been on the late shift at work for the second week in a row so that's killed all my time...two for the short post, brain's not cooperating Dx Haha yeah, wish I could code better too, seen so many good ones over the years}

Alice and Ren!
User Image User Image

Alice followed Cale for the quick tour and then to their room. By then Ren had been dosing in and out of a light sleep and Alice knew that it would be best to get the young child to bed soon so she wouldn’t be grumpy the next day as young kid’s moods are known to change very quickly for little to no known reason. She nodded as Cale stated that he had promised Rell not to sculpt after dinner. She nodded again when he added that there were a few things for him to take care of before bed. “Ok, good night Cale, sleep well yourself.” Alice said giving small bow as too much movement would wake the then sleeping child on her back as Ren had easily drifted off to sleep to the sound of her mother’s voice. She had been used to falling asleep like that as their past masters often made Alice work well past Ren’s bed time. Alice had never trusted those masters or the other slaves to leave Ren alone to sleep alone so she would often still carry Ren on her back while working, even though Ren was getting heavier, and Alice was close to no longer being able to carry the child for very long without breaks anymore. After Cale left her and Ren alone in the room she closed the door and made quick work of carefully putting Ren to bed before she quickly went about braiding her long hair for the night and getting ready for bed herself before crawling in next to Ren and soon falling into a sleep herself.

OOC: It’s fine, sorry for my delay as well, it’s a hugeeee mix of being busy, computer problems, and then getting sick, rinse and repeat… I think this RP is just kinnda a ‘post as your able but no rush’ type of deal at this point. Haha I know! I wish I knew how they did it/had the time to be able to do the coding myself! Also due to the computer problems my replies won't be color coded as it won't let me do that on the tablet which is what I'm having to use now.
