She was in training. She had to be a great reaver. Having gone out on her first reaving and come back very successful, she was now determined to be the best. Her mother had taught her to kill, her mother had taught her to slaughter those in secret. Now she was here though she had to learn to attack face on. That seemed to be the way of the stormborn. She was hardly a massive lioness though and attacking that way was strange to her.
Now she was in training. Of course she didn't really know where to start. Her claws were sharp, she was fit and she knew how to kill. She just didn't know how to fight like a stormborn.

The skies were bright, clouds covering the sun created shadows that danced across the ground in an almost delightful manner. Typically Sadhbh would have shared in the delight of the day, but as much as her return home was incredibly needed it was also a bitter return. Not because home made her bitter, but because what was out there had. Sadie recalled her visit with the Doctor fluidly, as though it were happening right then and there, a couple of emotions came from that - a burning hatred and a deep desire.
"Such a fool." She growled to herself, salty as ever at the way things had been. True, she had seen him in a different light and was delighted by the way he handled certain situation. But the one time they were alone and he drops her like she was nothing? The rage she felt burning beneath the surface was quick to fire as she continued on with those thoughts. Badly she wanted nothing more than to strike him, but he wasn't around - in fact where was he? <******** 'im." The lioness cussed loosely and clucked her tongue. She was becoming more violently cross. At first she had considered heading straight home, to her den, but instead she diverted from her original plan to head towards the training area. If she didn't blow off some of the steam she'd likely have a heart attack through the night - perhaps she would find him then? Sadie snorted coldly at the thought. "You there." She addressed the purple lioness aggressively. "What are you doing?"
Her intentions were pretty clear as she approached the scene, they were in the training area, which was established with plenty of space to duel various partners. It seemed it would be her lucky day, a chance to get out of some of the rage.

Cynder eyed the lioness. Her sky blue eyes measured the other up. She knew when someone was seething. She had seethed herself a good few times, for one reason or another. Usually because someone pissed her off or because something annoyed her, she supposed they could be one and the same thing. Today, they were not. She was actually in a pretty good mood, of course a mood could be soured by another and it looked to her like this lioness was looking to take some sort of anger out on whom ever was before her.
The deep purple lioness there fore, bristled. Without a moments hesitation she spat a sarcastic remark at the dark maned lioness "As I am in the training grounds I am probably training, don't you think?" occasionally she wished she could hold her tongue, only occasionally. She laughed internally, her good mood meant she was looking for a fight? Well probably. It would be good to fight a stormborn lioness, perhaps she could learn a thing or three.
"I could do with a little brawl and you look like someone that could do with a bit of therapeutic fighting." She snips a smirk raising on her maw.

Deep blue eyes stared long at the lioness as she was looked over. Sadie was used to being admired, but there were differences when it was for appearance versus muscle. Somehow the look over made her feel more powerful and the adrenaline that was already pumping through her viens had her even more amped, but instead of rage she just felt ready to go.
The smart a** remark made her smile, it was exactly something she'd have said to someone that came in and asked a question like hers, but she couldn't let something like that go. "Smart-a**. You could have been in the middle of something, I was being polite." Sadie replied with a sour tone. Her eyes narrowed at the lioness a little bit, not even the slightest bit concerned for her own personal well being - she'd fought before, fell before and had healed to be in this spot today. Win or lose she definitely needed to blow off some of the steam she'd built up.
"You're damn right I could do with it. You up for it?" She asked, then stepped towards an area that was specifically set up for what they were about to do. Two seconds she had decided to turn her back on her opponent and didn't think anything of it, though as she tuned around to face her again she was prepared for just about anything.Syrius Lionwing So here is what we will do: Next 4 posts each we will roll the following ... 1 4-Sided Die. At the end we will tally who has the most points and that will be the victor. I usually use the number to determine how the post went as well. xP

((Cynder roll 1 - 4 : Big hit)) She had met a lot of lions, well, enough lions in her time to see a kindred spirit. A sharp tongue and sharp claws, muscle enough to get by even in a world where they did not tower above others. She herself was hardly a small lioness but she certainly wasn't a big lioness either. She relied on her speed and stamina to get her by against larger opponents. That was how she had been taught. She really had no idea how the stormborn did things, a lot of them did seem to be more brawn than tactical.
Still in a situation like this the purple lioness watched as the other turned her back. For her, as soon as the fight was agreed it had started and without hesitation she dove for the other female, her claws, normally out, remained sheathed, it would not be good or right to scar the other female but giving her a bruise or two would certainly go a long way.
"My name is Cynder. Teach me something new." She rumbles as she bounded away putting some distance between herself and the other lioness, her tail lashing her eyes fixed in a careful, calculating stare.

((Sadie Roll: 4 Big Hit)) Clarity had struck the lioness a little to late, it seemed fighting at the degree of anger she was riding upon meant she might make mistakes - better to make them at home then to take such mistakes out into the open world. So she weighed very little on it as the crushing weight of her competitor came crashing down from behind. "Oof." She mumbled as she felt the striking pain of places on her body that would eventually be replaced with ripe bruising. "It's a good day to die. My name is Sadhbh, or Sadie." She remarked once she was turned around and facing her opponent.
Her stare levelled out to meet evenly with her opponent, now known as Cynder. It was incredibly wonderful to find a partner that was evenly matched for sparring, even better to find one that had interest in it. It seemed that today she had found both and as a bonus her partner understood the need to battle through anger. Her rage pumped through her as she reminded herself of what had happened - repeating the events of being dropped and left for the mountains (perhaps that was a bit dramatic, but so was she).
The silence was deadly between them, she felt the radiating power of her 'enemy', this was no drop in female from the roguelands. Without further ado though she decided to pick up the pace and started at the lioness, midway through her momentum she decided to fight a lower battle, the pair weren't huge - which was the burden of being a female sometimes - and so she didn't normally go to these tactics for other females, preferring to be on top. Today she would give a go at it. Successfully getting within range of the deep purple female she expected a dogde and countered it with rising up at a last moment and throwing her entire weight at the side of the lioness (shoulder first).

((Cynder the roll 2 : Miss )) The wing marked lioness hadn't really expected such a return on her attack and as she took the strike to her shoulder she rolled. She had learned long ago how to recover from such an attack though and rather than staying on her side she used the momentum to pull herself to her paws once again. She spat at the ground, the irony taste of blood tangled on her tongue. She must have bitten her tongue or split her mouth on her decent. Well, that was nothing to worry about.
Her opponent was clearly well versed in close quarter combat. Cynder found this both strange and amazing. She had never considered fighting in close combat, it was against every inch of her nervous system to battle so close to another, to fish an injury. She had always used sneak attacks, swift bluffs and feints. She would have to change her tactic, she had expected the other to be a distance fighter like herself. She wasn't really sure how to react to that.
Licking her lips, she decided ultimately she would have to stick with what she knew and perhaps when this battle was over she would ask her new friend to teach her how to battle so close. Her mind wandered a little so her next assault saw her flying past Sadie, missing the other lioness by a hair but none the less missing. Upon landing squarely she turned quickly, a miss was something foolish, she never missed and this annoyed her but she would not let the opportunity to bide a moment and re-assess her next move.

(( Sadie Roll: 2 Weak)) "Ahhh." The sound was a soft sigh from the sparkley, purple lioness as she felt the impact of bodies colliding in a perfect, full contact attack. The contact meant instant relief of her anger, but it wasn't gone, just changed. Anger became determination and the adrenaline pumped even harder - it was the little wins that fueled her. When they separated she admired the spit from her opponent that was stained red, a reward for her efforts. She smiled and rolled her shoulders.. the only struggle with close quarters combat was the shared pain.
It seemed this battle would look favourably upon her, for now. Sadie watched the lioness approaching her with sheer gusto. Fortunately she had enough time to move (just a little) to free herself from some potentially serious injury. Instead of remaining still this time, she decidedly turned to face the direction of Cynder. "You're quick." She remarked, complimenting the extreme speed. It was impeccable!
Sadie began to approach the lioness again, this time seeking to use her upper body strength and simply striking down upon the other. She moved forward, with little grace, and launched herself at a poor time which allowed her to land within the space of other - face to face, but didn't allow for such a collision as before. This time she had the chance to stare down the other with narrowed blue eyes as she lifted a paw to come down on her - if there was a blow at all, it would have been weaker, but still painful.

(Cynder roll : Hit) The purple lioness smiled, a very pleased smile. Although she knew she would certainly hurt in the morning this was a fight worth fighting, a battle worth winning, worth trying. Her sky blue eyes concentrated on the sparkling lioness, her coat, she realised suddenly, was quite dazzling, she also vainly wondered why such a lioness would be in such a bad mood? Perhaps when this fight was over she would ask.
As the other female dashed towards her and stopped so close, the rap across her neck caught her just slightly. She smiled, she felt something akin to a pattern forming here, did the lioness always go left? With eyes narrowed Cynder rose on to her back paws and pushed at the other lioness, shoving her away and dancing away on fleet paws.
"This is the way I was taught. You have a very different set of rules." She chuckles quietly "You seem to have been taught very differently." It was a compliment in her head, she wanted to learn how the lioness fought like she did.

((Sadie Roll: Weak)) Her dark mane drooped into her eyes briefly and she blew them out of her face, just in time for the lioness to push her. The connections being made between the pair were astounding. Sadie made note herself that it was clear the lioness wanted to be at a distance - close tactics were favorable in these conditions and the paler lioness smiled to herself slightly, not realizing that her competitor was making the same realisations about her favoring the left.
"We're brawlers through and through." She mused, enjoying this. It was amazing what you could learn about someone during a stint like this. "Same to you, perhaps after this.. we could teach each other something new?" The question wasn't truly a question. Sadie was prepared to admit she admired the other, not many had in her a state of mind to do so, but her abilities were impressive.
Words aside she brought herself back, mentally, into the fight. Sadie made herself sturdy again after the distance separated them once more. The strength was certainly there, she could feel the force behind those paws - amazing. Force that was differently used, she wondered what tactics were really good from a distance? What could one do besides paw to paw combat. Pushing aside distracting thoughts she inhaled deeply a moment and then made another dash forward, the terrain was working against her again a small amount and she nearly tumbled. Instead of fighting those forces she pulled herself low and made an attempt at knocking the lioness over.

(Cynder roll : hit ) Cynder chuckles quietly, this was it, as the other lioness glanced a blow she slipped to the right and kicked with her back paws launching herself, and hopefully her opponent away and off her paws. She landed deftly and turned her tail high her eras tilted forwards.
"That sounds like a plan." She breathed swishing her tail in to a more natural position. She breathed heavily for a moment, it was brief but she knew this fight was nearly done. Her speed came at a cost she had always been a fast battler, her fights were short and to the point, she had little stamina but by now, usually her opponent was dead or downed. "I would like to learn." She rumbles, keeping herself in a prepared stance just in case she needed to take a final hit.
"Your brawling, you seem to be able to go for a long time. I need that." She breathed, trying to keep the breathyness from her voice. She knew she was flagging this had to be it, she wasn't sure she could take another shoulder slam.

(( Sadie Roll: Big Hit)) The end was near, even Sadie could feel it in her muscles, but as the other had pointed out brawling constantly allowed her the gift of stamina. Something she had taken for granted in most cases, but today she was grateful. "Glad you agree." She said with a smile, her words were a little breathy, but she had picked herself back up from their previous encounter and shook herself free from some of the dust.
"I would too." Any lion would be a fool to think they knew it all. "Looks like we have plenty to teach each other." A grin replaced her smile. "We can work on your stamina, it'll just take time and patience."
Sadie took another deep breath in - perhaps they were out of habit now, it seemed that was the way she was going to behave before each huge strike. Keeping a better eye on the ground she decided to give one last attempt at simply barrelling her over - exhaustion was foiling her plans to do something more spectacular, but it would get the point across. Throwing herself forward once more she put all of her energy behind what she figured would be her final assault.
Last minute she chose to leap up at her opponent, paws open and head lowered with her ears pinned back. Her eyes were narrowed and she stared hard at the ground, awaiting the impact of the lioness before her. This was it.

The attack was heavy and she realised for a moment just how little she actually weighed. If she hadn't been trained to take at least a few hits she probably would have been crushed by the impact. Knowing how to take a hit and roll away though helped her a little and as she lay in a out of breath puddle she raised a paw and looked up at her opponent.
"You win." She coughed taking in a few long slow breaths to get her breathing back on an even tilt. Her sky blue eyes looked up at the other female. "I hope you're in a bit of a better mood now." She grins and flops on to her side. "Think, I need a nap." She couched a little laughter and slowly rolled to her paws feeling the aches that would become bruises, the pain that would grace her in the morning. She was certainly glad she had never had to face an opponent like Sadie in the rogue lands. Though if she had, it would have been a kill first ask questions later sort of battle.
She was actually pleased that she had battled this lioness under friendly circumstances. She would learn a lot from Sadie, she had the feeling they could teach each other much about their varying fighting styles.
Taking one final slow, heavy breath the purple lioness trotted up to the feather marked femme and gave a nod "Tomorrow, lets show each other what we can do." She grins a toothy grin, her blue eyes dancing happily. As she trotted on past her new friend. Her den was calling to her, she was certainly ready for a rest. "Tomorrow before the sun is too high Sadie, teach me how to fight for longer." She calls back as she slinks off on silent paws for her den.
