Green Cynosuth
Written by Masterharper
Colored by Masterharper

Origin of Name: Cynosuth is derived from the word, Cynosura. This is the ancient name of the star we know today as Polaris, the North Star. The North Star is perhaps the most famous star in the nightsky and can be found in the constellation Ursa Minor -- the Little Dipper.

Inspiration: This dragon is inspired by the 17th card in Tarot's Major Arcana -- the Star. This card is generally seen as a positive card, and is thought to look to the future. It is often one of the most beautiful cards in the Tarot deck, and is known to offer hope and healing. Aquarius is its ruling sign.

Personality:
Cynosuth is a very gentle dragon. Similar to her blue brother, Eleusith, this green dragon is known to be very serene and harmonious in nature. She isn't easily excitable, or overly energetic. Instead, she seems to drift through life as if walking through a daydream. She isn't a particularly loud dragon, nor is she the sort to seek out attention. She can often be overlooked or easily pushed to the wayside when stronger, more gregarious dragons enter the picture -- but should anyone give Cynosuth attention, or should she think someone is in need of her help, this is where the little green shines.

Cynosuth is an incredibly helpful little green. She has patience in droves -- she does not shout, she does not bellow, or snap, and snarl when she does't get her way. No, she is quiet, but she will patiently allow her louder, more exuberant siblings to have their say until it is her turn to speak. She will wait without complaint until it is her turn. Her endless patience is in high demand, particularly when someone out there is in need. For little Cynosuth wants nothing more than to help those who are less fortunate; to warm those who are cold; to give guidance to those who are lost; and to give hope to those who despair.

Unfortunately, Cynosuth, for all her patience for others, can be quite hard on herself. Should someone discourage Cynosuth from a task, her gentle heart might easily be wounded. Should she be torn down from a desire, or strongly rebuked, the small green might quietly despair. For while she will give all of her heart and hope and love to others, she often forgets to spare some for herself. She is sensitive, and while she would never complain against harsh treatment, she is known to easily give up her own dreams in the face of challenge.

Additionally, she is known to be overly self-sacrificing and can wear herself out, emotionally and physically, by trying to give to others. In her keen desire to do good, and to help her clutchmates or wingmates, she might very well push herself to her limits, and then some. Her rider will need to be particularly cautious to make sure Cynosuth doesn't strain her muscles, and gets all the emotional love, acceptance, and encouragement to keep her balanced and ready for whatever obstacles they might need to face.

Positive Traits: Serene, Helpful, Patient, Gentle
Negative Traits: Easily discouraged, Over exerts herself mentally and physically, self-sacrificing

Adult Size: 18'
Physical Attributes: Cynosuth is a very little green. She is very small, and incredibly dainty. While she is strong, she can't take a very hard hit. During weyrling games, she might not be able to handle some of her more rambunctious siblings games. As an adult, she will be less prone to bruises, but will still need to be cautious and avoid hard landings when she can. She doesn't have a lot of stamina, but when she flies, it is a thing of beauty. She is incredibly agile, and lightning fast. When she rises, she is an incredibly difficult green to catch, and tends to do well during agility tests.

Additional Notes: She loves to fly. Though she isn't always able to fly as long as her larger green sisters, she is not afraid to test her agility, and excels at speed races.

Theme Song: Shooting Star by Owl City

Why Me?
Cynosuth is sorry that she made Dristan wait -- but now that she's here, she will never leave the man alone again. This little green knew Dristan was the right match for her, even if he was considered too old to properly Impress. His heart and her own are almost the same, and she loves Dristan for it. They are both hardworking individuals, who seem to care more for others than themselves. So it is, Cynosuth will always look to ensure Dristan isn't being too hard on himself, and will try to give him hope for the future; he is more than he thinks he is, and this little star believes in him! That said, Dristan can care for the delicate green physically and mentally; he can heal her from any physical ailments, and ensure she doesn't overexert herself emotionally. While it is possible they both might despair during dark times together, they will also be able to pick one another up. Cynosuth can and will ease Dristan's insecurities, and Dristan can give his green all the encouragement she needs to succeed. There is nothing they can't conquer together.

Green Monath
Written by Masterharper

User Image

Origin of Name: Monath gets her name from the Moon itself. Moon is dervied from the word moone, around 1380. Moone was developed from the word Mone, in about 1135, which is derived from the Old English Mona, which is from as far back if not before 725. It is a very old name, for a very special green dragon.

Inspiration: This dragon was inspired by the 18th Card of the Majora Arcana: The Moon. This card represents imagination and the mind, and can find Pisces as its ruling sign. It is a mysterious, other-worldly sort of card, and represents poetry, madness, genius, visions, and illusions. It is a bit of a wild card but there is beauty within its madness.

Personality:
Monath is an artist. Since hatching from the shell this little lady has had an incredibly active imagination, and it will only get worse as she ages. Everyone who surrounds her, and every thing she sees, will become some prop in a story only she seems to know. Instead of being dragons, maybe they could all pretend to be herdbeasts! Or better yet, a group of harpers. Doesn't that sound like fun!? Or maybe her brother could be a wild feline, and she could be a vicious tunnel snake, and they must fight to the death! Rawr! Or perhaps her rider might get her some clothes to wear too, so they might make a beautiful couple. Or cover her in glitter, so she can pretend to be the Weyrwoman's gold! While these games might seem fun as a hatchling, it could get more difficult to appease her as she grows.

Monath is a very passionate green. When not living in some fantasy, or telling some far-fetched story to a weyrling, she might very well find a cause to champion. This could be anything from turning a homely blue into the talk of the Weyr; mothering the newest batch of weyrlings; or fighting for some sort of equality. Monath is a green that has extreme moods -- one moment she might be happy and joyful, and then next brooding over how everything is wrong with the world.

In fact, her great creativity and imagination, while it allows her to be a wonderful problem solver, can lead to some ugly traits. Monath doesn't like to be told no, or denied her desires. If someone really hurts her, she is known to get nasty, and won't be afraid to bristle, snarl, and snap. For as passionate as she can be, Monath can also be terribly irrational. If she doesn't like someone, she will go to the extremes to express her displeasure; if she is feeling particularly neglected, she might very well throw a dramatic tantrum. She might very well refuse to listen to reason on why she can't do something or get her way, so it'll be up to her rider to soothe her. Tantrums will be common if her rider doesn't keep her in check, and they will be explosive.

Positive Traits: Creative, Inspired, Imaginative, Impassioned
Negative Traits: Moody, Sensitive, Irrational

Adult Size: 22'

Physical Attributes: Monath is an average sized green. She might be a little plump in size, but that doesn't make her any less lovely. Her proportions are spot on, and she has particularly good stamina for a green.

Additional Notes: Monath loves to fly. She is one of those greens who will rise like clockwork four times a Turn. Due to her exceptional stamina, she is known to wear out the smaller blues. Monath is also close to Zenobiath and looks up to her sister. She may be a green, but she sometimes acts like a queen.

Theme Song: Glorious, by Cascada

Why Me?
Monath was immediately drawn to Demanthra primarily because of the girl's great inventiveness and passion for music. This green is a creative green, and while she isn't always musical, she will delight in listening to her riders songs, and likely try to be her muse, or at least ensure all songs are clearly about Monath. Monath, for her part, will be Demanthra's best friend. She will relish the girl's creativity, and will turn her world into a playground for them both. She understands how Demanthra bottles up her emotions, as this green does the same. She will encourage her rider to try to let them out, as she is a very dramatic green; and Demanthra herself might be able to better temper her passionate companion. Monath wants to share the world with Demanthra, but also make sure they both are given their due. She will likely be dramatic and try to take a little advantage of her riders caring nature, because why shouldn't Monath's worries and hurts and pains be seen to? On the flipside, should anyone hurt her rider, they will have Monath to deal with, and she can be an absolute terror when not kept in check. Demanthra will need every ounce of patience to deal with her sensitive green, and will likely need to think of clever ways to distract Monath from her moods.

Green Lemath
Written by Masterharper
Colored by Tanakako

User Image

Origin of Name: The Fool is titled Le Mat in the Tarot of Marseilles. This archaic word could mean "the madman" or "the beggar", and may be related to the word for 'checkmate' in relation to the original use of tarot cards for gaming purposes

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Inspiration: This dragon is based off the tarot card, The Fool. This card is often numbered as the first card with 0, or the last card, 22. In this case it's both the beginning and the end of the Major Arcana.

Personality: Lemath is one of the spunkier dragons of her clutch, and such energy is only likely to get worse as she ages. This green dragon isn't at all demure or shy like some of her sisters, and is the sort of dragon that rarely slows down! Her energy can serve the Weyr and her rider well when she is given some sort of task; unfortunately, when there isn't much to do, or she finds the task dull or boring, Lemath might very well find herself in trouble. When this lady is bored, watch out!

She is an easily excitable green, which pairs nicely with her naive optimism. Everyday is a new adventure for Lemath, and she wants nothing more than to share it with her rider. She can find joy in the littlest of things, like the way the sunshine sparkles on the water, or the peeping of a newly hatched flit. She also can find excitement in the big things, like getting to fly with her rider, or being asked to flame Thread. No matter where she goes, Lemath will always find something to lift her spirits, and will not hesitate to share it with anyone willing to listen. Is it bath time? She'll crow her joy to the Weyr as if it was only bath she'd ever receive. Is it time to go out on a sweep drill? Excellent! Yes! She can't wait to find out who she's paired with! All day, everyday, Lemath will live her life as if every morning was that of a holiday. Life is worth living, so says Lemath, and she's more than happy to bring her rider along for the ride.

Her childlike wonder will remain even as she grows, but it's that same sort of innocent naivety that can also cause her trouble. She is a green who tends to act first and think later, if she has time to think at all. The excitement of doing something new, or being first to finish a project, can often lead her down dangerous paths. She doesn't always think about the danger lurking right around he corner, or how what fun game she's playing could get herself or her rider in trouble.

Worse, with so much energy, Lemath doesn't have any amount of patience to sit around and wait. Times of quiet and lectures from her Wingleaders will always cause the green aggravation. She hates to stand around and do nothing, and gets especially fidgety when she's stuck in one place. That same impatience means Lemath is the sort of green who will execute her idea without thinking it fully through. Oops, and uh-oh, will be common phrases. Thankfully, no matter how tricky a situation she might find herself in, Lemath has endless optimism that things will turn out okay. No matter how much of a pickle she and her rider are in, they'll find some way out of it. That's part of the adventure, after all.

Positive Traits: Energetic, Optimistic, Excitable
Negative Traits: Naive, Unsatisfied, Impatient

Adult Size: 23'
Physical Attributes: Lemath is an average sized green. She tends to be naturally trim, and tends to run underweight if her rider isn't careful. Her boundless energy means she needs to eat often.

Additional Notes: This green doesn't stay still, even in her sleep. She's the sort of green who tosses, turns, and twitches in her sleep. As a hatchling she'll have trouble sleeping in long hours, and will likely wake her rider up when bored. This might follow into adulthood, too.

Theme Song: Can't Stop the Feeling, by Justin Timberlake

Why Me?
Rhaaaaaaaaam! Lemath is here! Let's go do something fun, hey? Lemath seems to have been made just for the adventurous boy, and knew right away he was the one for her. He loves the man's adventurous side, and will have no problem taking him anywhere he wants to go. There is nothing that the two of them can't get through together, and she will make sure their life is one giant thrill. Lemath will always be there to appreciate his wit and humor, and will certainly encourage his reckless behavior. This might get them into trouble, but hopefully Rham will learn that his dragon might need some boundaries. Lemath will push too far otherwise, which could have disastrous results. This green will keep Rham on his toes, and might force the lad to be a little more serious and grounded. With some focus, this pair could achieve great things for their Wing and their Weyr.
