Safari Contest - Abandoned Mall (Closed)

After the last two locales, Amaranth would find herself just as unamused as Freth was upon entering. The main difference would be that her displeasure wouldn't be quite so vocal, let alone as loud. If anything, the shouting that echoed through the Main Mall was loud enough for both of them and she decided to just keep quiet on the matter lest she start attracting Pokemon to her in response. Instead, she'd shake her head and sigh, starting to look around as she wondered how on earth these places were picked.

But, this was Snagem. Perhaps asking such questions would lead to even more.

It wouldn't be long before she realized that attracting Pokemon wouldn't be an issue. At least, not if they were going to float there and try to open shutters like the Klefki she just saw. Having a bad feeling that somehow, something might try to follow her for far longer than she'd care to deal with, she quietly sent out her Pidgeotto. "Gale, Quick Attack," she whispered, watching the ensuing sneak attack. The sudden tackle would send Klefki into the shutters as Gale flew in and backed off, leaving the Pokemon surprised as it faltered and fell for a second.

In its shock, it'd just scrape against the shutters as it fell, the inadvertent Metal Sound causing Gale and Amaranth to wince from the noise. It'd stop as soon as Klefki did, finally floating back up and turning around to see what had come to ruin its day. It'd then try to shout and attack with Astonish... only for the ghostly energy to prove ineffective. Short of a light tackle, Gale didn't look to be particularly bothered by it, turning to Amaranth with a light chirp.

"Sorry for this..." She remarked, giving a concerned look to the Klefki before them. She didn't really want to do this, but it wasn't worth taking the chance. "Wing Attack, Gale!" She shouted at once, having her Pidgeotto rush back in and strike Klefki with her wings. This time, the Klefki would prove to be a bit more prepared, taking the attack a bit more easily than last time and trying to... jingle its keys? It'd be as incessant as it could with the noise, deciding that it was content doing that all day.

So content, in fact, that it quickly grated on Gale's nerves and Tormented her as it kept going. Eventually, she'd act of her own accord and let an Air Slash express what she thought of Klefki's decision to moonlight as a noisemaker. Keeping up with the noise, however, it'd end up creating a gust of Fairy Wind to try and keep Gale back. Given the Wing Attack that followed almost as quickly, it didn't seem to be too effective.

Still, Klefki looked like it was ready to still fight for some time, its resilience allowing it to brush off the multiple attacks. The decision for it to flee afterward only made this odder, but perhaps it wanted to cut its losses while it was still in good enough shape to do so.

"Uh... okay then...?" Confused, Amaranth and Gale would decide to head off in another direction within the Main Mall. With any luck, they wouldn't see that Klefki again.

Maybe.

Jezebel sees a poster about a Safari contest hanging up in the kitchen. "Oh when did this get here? Oh look, it has the list of pokemon that have been spotted." Looking down at her Vulpix, "What do you say? Want to get out and stretch our legs?" Her Vulpix let out a yip in approval. "Great lets go than." The two gather a couple of things and headed off.

With a flash the two where standing inside the run down Abandoned Mall. "Eww, this place gives me the creeps. I though it would have been recent shut down. Not- well this!" She said as the two of them started through the mall. "Shhhhh, i hear something over there." Peeping around the corner, she spots a pokemon. "Oh look, over there. Yes our first pokemon."

Moving their way down another part of the Main Mall and all of the stores that once was known for bustling activity, Amaranth and Gale would end up stopping when they saw a lone Abra just sitting there on the floor. Thinking it rare enough to warrant trying to catch it, she'd ready one of the Safari Balls given to her. But, before she could throw it, the Abra would Teleport away. Disappointed, they'd just continue onward.

Getting a closer look, she spots and Abra, "Oh, it's an Abra. Cool, but i'll leave this one alone." She said moving on.

"OH MY GOD IT"S SOOOO CUTE!!!" She screamed at the Togepi. Startled by the cry of a banshee it fled into a nearby hole in a store front. "Oh my, I might want to contain my excitement for future encounters." Her Vulpix let out a small giggle. "Yeah you're right, that was uncalled for. Okay let's press on."

Walking down the isle Jezebel hears some foot prints. "This place is abandoned right?" A chill went up her, "What if there are people living here?! Or worse, thugs and or bandits." Fear was creeping into your eyes and mind. When suddenly a child like figure came out for the shadows. "Oh it's just a child. Excuse me are you lost?" The shadow stopped moving, as Jezebel jumped back the light revealed a Mime Jr.

"Eekkk- Oh!" she said patting her chest, "It's adorable but not my kind of pokemon. Go on little one, enjoy your home." The pokemon ran off with a cheerful tune. Soon after Jezebel and her Vulpix continued on their way as well.

What Amaranth didn't know was that the Abra that teleported away wasn't the only thing to be nearby. A rustling sound could be heard from a decayed, long-dead plant or rather, a scratching sound as something walked along the soil. It'd continue for a few seconds before a Nincada started walking down to reach the floor. For the moment, it seemed to be minding its own business and Amaranth was content to just leave it alone.

Or, Gale could decide that leaving it alone was a boring idea and suddenly smack it right into a wall with Wing Attack.

"Gale, no, there wasn't-"

Even more suddenly, she'd see Nincada quickly rush back to the soil it was on before and use it as a crude means to use Mud-Slap, hitting her in the face when Gale dodged it with ease. "...okay, go ahead," she remarked as she went to wipe the mud and rotted plant from her face. Her Pidgeotto would fly in and land another Wing Attack, practically taking whatever fight the bug had as quickly as everything had begun.

Unfortunately, what wasn't noticed through the fight was that the ball she had ready wasn't quite the Safari Ball she thought it was. A closer inspection would've revealed that she had taken out a Nest Ball by mistake, and that she had dropped it when the mud was flung at her. It'd roll along the floor until it reached Nincada, opening up to try and capture it whether Amaranth wanted to try catching it or not.

The Nest Ball would prove to be a little bit cheaply made for some reason, bursting open almost immediately and leaving the weakened Nincada to lay there, twitching. "How... never mind." Shaking her head, she wondered if catching it would be worth her time or not. Thinking that she's probably made worse decisions, she took out the other Nest Ball in her pocket and tossed it. Once again, Nincada would find itself inside a ball to try and struggle out of.

The second Nest Ball wouldn't be given quite as much luck, managing to catch the Nincada with little trouble. If anything, it all seemed a bit too easy. Amaranth tried to wipe more of the mud off her as the ball vanished, taken away for later judging as she and Gale decided to keep looking around the Main Mall.
