Kumogakure Police Department, or K.P.D. for short is a renown and respected civilian branch of law enforcement in the Village Hidden in the Clouds, as well as the Land of Lightning as a whole. It has many branching departments in other parts of the nation, working together to maintain law and order so that the shinobi militant forces can focus on the "bigger picture" regarding the safety and security of the people. Of course, K.P.D. gladly assists shinobi when needed and accepts aid from shinobi when offered.
Generally, the K.P.D's fine officers handle the most common cases of public disorder. That is, unless certain cases are believed to involve a suspect who may have some degree of training in ninja arts. Their martial training can only take them so far without also needing assistance from ninja of the village to solve such extreme matters. Thankfully, the K.P.D. Headquarters is also outfitted with an especially well-funded and excellently maintained prison system to manage all types of lawbreakers. The prison itself is built within the small mountain that the headquarters was designed upon. The structure is made of materials that are highly chakra resistant and lined with fuuinjutsu that greatly hinders the molding and usage of chakra in reaction to the sealing mark given to all inmates. Even the most talented or experienced of ninja would have difficulty utilizing techniques a slim fraction of their normal potential.
The sub-branch within the headquarters building that specializes in cases with ninja suspects are known unofficially as the "Jaegers". The commander of the Jaegers holds authority second only to the K.P.D. Chief within the headquarters, but everyone answers to Kumogakure's absolute leadership- the Raikage. Jaegers typically operate in pairs unless certain assignments require extra backup. Normal K.P.D. officers are almost never involved in cases where Jaegers are actively operating for their own safety and to better ensure odds of success in an arrest (when possible).

__ After wandering around Kumogakure in her thoughts for awhile, Ada would finally arrive just outside of the large structure built upon its own small mountaintop. Selina was bound to be close by since they were to be partners while offering their service here. Ada felt a little less upset about what happened back at the Academy earlier, but it wasn't completely off her mind. Beneath that, she was also somewhat bothered that she couldn't decide if she cared more about her birth parents or an overly cliche government conspiracy looming behind her. Either way seemed absurd in some way or another, so she'd manage a softly breathed snicker and shook it off. Ada stopped in front of the doors to turn and face Selina. "Are you ready for this?" Ada asked, almost as if giving the other girl one last chance to back out.
__How cool!!!!! The two of them had an awesome base on the side of the mountain! This was way cooler than Selina thought her ninja career would go. Plus, she was going to be the magical girl she always wanted to be. As a police officer, she would be able to help people. She could make the community better like a real hero. This was everything she dreamed of. She couldn't wait to get started! "I'm ready! Let's make Kumogakure great again!" She said with a smile and a fist in the air in front of Ada. It was time for their journey to truly begin!
__ Ada nodded, highly appreciative of Selina's boundless enthusiasm. She needed someone like this around right now. Hopefully the other officer's here weren't too much trouble to work with. The pair would enter the KPD Headquarters together, finding it hard not to notice the many people bustling about. There were suits and uniforms going here to there as well as back and forth. Ada headed to the front desk, but the person stationed there only gave the girls a glance before pointing toward a hallway and saying, "New recruit briefings for Jaegers are down that way. Pretty much that whole half of the building is yours, in fact. Good luck..." The monotone in his "good luck" made it hardly inspiring but Ada just shrugged then glanced back to Selina to give her partner a nod.
The two of them would head off in the direction they were told. Ada just wished she had taken a moment to ask which door to go in for that briefing. Just as she passed another closed door she heard muffled shouting about someone being late. She paused mid step and back peddled a bit, making sure to not accidentally walk back into Selina along the way. "Let's try... door number one." Ada firmly knocked on the door a couple times proceeded to open the door. A thick-boned man could be seen pacing in front of the window on the far side of the room filled with desks. Pair the scene with a chalkboard at the front of the room and this looked like a place to host briefings. "Uhm.. excuse us. We were looking for-" The man suddenly turned around and immediately began sizing up Ada and Selina. "Ada Kyuri and Selina Rosewater. You're late." Ada tensed and fixed her posture to offer an apologetic salute, "Sorry sir. The front desk wasn't cl-""I hate excuses. Just take a seat. It's just you two today so I don't care where you sit, but don't make it difficult for me to talk to you both." Judging from the man's badge, he was a Captain. Chances were that he'd be in charge of them until they proved themselves. "Yes sir." Ada lowered her salute and sat at a desk close, but not too close, to the Captain.
Once Selina was also seated the man would introduce himself, "I am Captain Jirocho Akimichi. You make a donut joke around me and I'll have you cleaning the toilets with your hairbrushes or something." Jirocho stuffed his hands into his pockets and continued, "Welcome to the Kumogakure Police Department. We received your recommendations from the newly appointed Raikage himself a little while ago. I was under the impression that you'd be here sooner, but that doesn't matter." He pointed toward the chalkboard, "You're shinobi. Therefore, you are expected to serve in the Jaegers branch of the KPD. We, the Jaegers, handle crimes involving suspects who do or are believed to be utilizing ninja arts. Fighting fire with fire." The chalkboard just went over the same things that were said, and some extra unspoken details. Jirocho lowered his hand to rest on his belly. "We're also going to accept the recommendation for the princess and the magical girl to be partners. Although, that's mostly just because we don't have any other Rookies to pair you two up with." The Captain shrugged that off and finished by saying, "Ask me whatever questions you have, but keep it professional. I don't have any reason to get to know either of you if I don't know how committed you're going to be to this line of work. The mission postings are across the hall. You Rookies need to stick to the simpler jobs, and report back to me whenever you finish something." He paused when he realized these were fresh out of school ninja, "Oh, and do not make a mess in the village during your work. You want to be the good... gals, unlike the one's you'll be booking." Ada finally averted her gaze after Jirocho finished saying his peace. The look was mostly just to see if everything soaked in okay with her. "You can pick our first mission if you want, partner." She offered her magical girl friend a smile to try balancing out the serious tone from their new boss.
__Selina jerked awake when Ada spoke to her. She somehow managed to rest her head on the desk and then doze off the tone of the man. He had such a smoothing voice. As she woke up though, she realized the meeting was already over. "Is it over already?" She said confused. It appeared as such, which meant that the two could now go and do something. Selina smiled as she stood up from her seat, performing a basic stretch as she did. "Let's go pick a mission! I want to go and bring justice to all who need some!" She said with gusto. Immediately the girl went over to the mission list. Cat and mouse. That seemed perfect for the two of them. Selina loved cats and mouses. Without reading the rest of the mission Selina reported back to Ada. "Let's go take care of some animals!" She said cheerfully.
__ The captain sighed and shook his head while the other rookie napped during the briefing. He had other things to do than yell at a girl for lacking attentiveness. Ada just followed Selina out of the room to select their assignment and gave an approving nod to the selection. She quickly read over another of the same Cat and Mouse jobs to get an idea of what they needed to do, just in case her partner was missing the objective as obviously as she seemed to. "Yes, let us depart." Hopefully Selina enjoyed being a cat this time around. The pair would head out to the village's main plaza where the reported petty thefts were last known to occur.

The doughnuts almost always smelled amazing. He made sure to pick them up fresh every morning, his thanks for the men of the Kumokagure Police force for letting him do his duty. He closed the front door to the station behind him and turned to face the officer assigned to the front desk, recognizing him from previous visits "Morning, sir" He said politely. The officer smiled back with his eyes darting between Genesis and the box of goodies he held under his arm "Genesis! I'm glad to see you again" He said with a chuckle, slapping his belly lightly "..but my waistline sure isn't! My wife swear I've put on weight since you've started, uhhh...witnessing"
Genesis laughed lightly as well and held out the box of pastries in his palm "Oh? Then I suppose this means you don't want any of these then. Fresh from the bakery!" At the thought of losing out on his breakfast the officer suddenly turned a little red and started waving his hands dismissively "Now hold on there, didn't mean that! A man's gotta eat after all. Here, let me get the door for you" The officer got up out of his chair and scurried over to the locked door that separated the reception area from admittance to the back of the station.
As Genesis crossed the door he happily handed the box off to the correction officer "I hope you guys enjoy. You deserve 'em" The man enthusiastically took the box as multiple officers descended on him to get their sugary treats. From amidst the gathering, and as he walked away, a voice called out "Thanks man! See you tomorrow!" but he paid them no mind. He was headed for his true goal. He walked down a few hallways and stopped before a door labeled "confinement." He nodded at Captain Akimichi, a pudgy but kind man, as he walked by before proceeding into the door.
He walked down the length of cells until he got to the one at the end, one which held the most lowly, petty and small time criminals. They were the only ones he was allowed to interact with but he decided it was better than nothing 'Lost souls are lost souls after all.' Genesis waited as an officer allowed him inside the cell and locked it behind him, studying the face of each man now locked inside the cage with him "It is...good to see you all again. Shall we begin where we left off yesterday"
He reached into his bag and pulled out a leather bound book, one with intricate drawings on it "May Kenra's light find you all in good spirits today. Now, can anyone tell me what the third commandment of our Lady is? Thomas?" And with that his daily witnessing had begun. Every morning he came here to speak with those that society wanted to throwaway, to remind them that they are important and they are loved. It gave him focus, and would keep him grounded for the battles to come.

"...And you can see my friends, by repenting from evil and turning your hearts to the tenants of love, pious acts and charity then you too can receive Kenra's Light" Genesis closed his book as he finished her sermon, looking around at the half dozen or so individuals in the cell with him. Sure, they had nowhere to go, but they still attentively listened to him...well, all except one.
A man was a scar on his cheek had stayed away from the group, glaring at him from the corner. He approached as Genesis wrapped up and placed his hand on his hips "If your god is so powerful, show us. Show us what Kenra can do" After he said this the other prisoners mumbled their agreement. Genesis sighed. It always came down to this. Precious few men were capable of believing without seeing. So be it.
He stood up and rolled up his sleeves, outstretching his arms afterwords. "Fine. But be warned, it will be uncomfortable to behold" He didn't like people "testing" his faith, it reduced it in his mind. He understood their logic, but resented it nonetheless. They wanted a show? Fine. He would give them a show. Genesis focused on the Light within himself and forced it out of himself. He smiled as he saw the result.
The light within a five meter radius around him brightened, continuing to grow and grow as the brightness increased. The prisoners around him called out in shock and scrambled backwards as Genesis was soon engulfed in a bright white orb "Do you see her Light now?!" He called out to his congregation. Soon afterwords he cut off the flow of the Light and it faded, the comfortable twilight of the cell returning once more

__ Ada would return to headquarters with her apprehended suspect close in tow. Selina wouldn't be far behind with her own charge. Ada handed off the cuffed man to another KPD officer. Ada retrieved the necessary forms for her report and even offered copies to Selina too. Afterward she headed over to the briefing room where they met Captain Jirocho. Ada took a seat close to the door since she didn't intend to stay here for very long. It wouldn't take long to make mention of her and her partner patrolling the vicinity where the thief was last reported seen. Nor would it be trying to include details about Selina taking first notice of the suspect seemingly involved in some kind of deal with the other man. Ada had been sure to bring in all necessary evidence along with the apprehended men. The rookie Jaeger set her pen down and turned around at her desk to see if Selina was also done. __Selina brought her guy down to the precinct and plopped him down in a cell. It was only when he arrived that he became conscious. As he looked around, however, the young girl was no where to be found. She had to write up a mission report, after all.
Selina began her report without missing a detail. She went on for paragraphs about how much she had to wait during the stake out, how long it took for her to finish her coffee, and how many donuts she ate. She then made a side note to ask whether or not she will be reimbursed for ryo spent on missions. After she finished her sentence though, she went into details about the actual event.
This is where she got a little bit vague. In her report she stated that the man was going flee which was why she used a binding ninjutsu technique. She wasn't really lying since the red hoodie fellow probably didn't want to stick around, but it was hard to justify the overkill she performed in capturing him. Still though, she spared no details on how amazing Ada was at subduing her target. Once she finished typing she smiled to Ada as the other woman was also finished.
"Let's go!" She said cheerfully. What was next, she wondered.
The door slammed with a loud 'thud!' as Genesis exited the holding cells. He entered through the half-swinging doors that led to the bullpen, approaching an officer who was leading two criminals away in their new cells. Stopping before the group he extended his hand out to them, pointer finger raised up "It is never too late to turn from evil, my friends. As he touched one, whom oddly enough was wearing a red hood, he noticed he had a twitch as well as smelled distinctly of singed hair. Looking past them, he scanned the area. Typically KPD officers used Taijutsu or traps to restrain their suspects. This was...odd. Finally he locked his eyes on a pair of girls writing on some papers towards the back 'Haven't seen them here before.'
He approached the two, leaving the criminals to be taken away. Stopping a few feet away Genesis bowed to the two women, a sign of respect the Temple Elders taught him when addressing a stranger. Rising, he spoke "Good Morning, my name is Genesis Von Hohenheim. May I inquire if it was you two who brought in these last two culprits?" He glanced back and forth between the two of them. Quiet different, but they seemed nice...or rather, not overtly horrid.

__ Ada was just standing up from the desk when a stranger entered the room and approached Selina and herself. She paused for a moment, half standing, then arose the rest of the way as she heard his introduction and request. With no shame or reason to deny their good work, Ada replied, "Yes, we booked those last two. I am Ada Rio-Kyuri, of the noble Rio family serving this nation's Daimyo." She returned a slight bow of her head to the man, feeling that such was enough for these formalities. While she knew she could have also introduced Selina, Ada believed it wasn't necessary and that the girl could gladly declare her magical girl status on her own terms. "Why do you ask, mister Hohenheim?" If this was all just for small talk then Ada was going to be inclined to cut it short. There was plenty more police work to be done before the day's end.
__Selina did not introduce herself initially when the man approached. Instead she stared at him for a bit while Ada introduced herself. There was something about this man which was wrong to her. She had no logic as to why, but her intuition alerted her to his danger. It made her nervous, and at this stage of her life she wasn't yet used to hiding her emotions. "Miss Ada, lets go." She said much less cheerfully as she looked away from the two and headed out. What was it about the guy which made her so alarmed? She could almost remember it, but it was on the tip of her tongue.
