Click to show. The ground beneath his feet was hardened by time, and he made quick work of climbing the little ledges of rock and terrain that crossed his path in an effort to move forward. He glanced over his shoulder, looking back on how far he had come, and he took no joy in the sight.
He wanted a place to call his home, and he had found a worthy pride in his wanderings. They asked questions of him that he refused to answer, or he spoke too briefly for the chattiest of guards and he turned away before they could finish a dull speech about a new cub or adornment that suited their tastes.
He cared not if he brother should follow or not, he speed was his own, though deep down he felt that constant tug of family ties, and knew that if his brother did not follow, he would not continue much further than this, no matter how carelessly he seemed to wander. He would return to his brother's side and abandon this effort if he merely spoke the word.
He could see when he neared the edge of pridal grounds, the scent of many a lion passing his nose to signify a border that was well kept.
He swept his gaze over his shoulder, seeking his brother's pelt among the rock as he spoke, "We've hit a boundary."
Surely it would be a place of interest, seeing what kind of land they chose as pridal grounds. Strength had a way of matching the ground on which it tread, and Purusha found himself quite drawn to the area himself, perhaps curious enough to stay.
He waited, gaze going back to what lay before him, anxious to see what would come along with a bit of excitement at the idea that they may not be openly welcome. He could use a good fight.

As far as he was concerned, no lands were good enough for them.
Either the dirt was too hard, the water too sour, the winds too fast, or the fact that he just didn't like the area, Prakriti had come to find reason after reason why he and his brother hadn't stayed in one land for too long.
Still, his heart was the same as his brother's. In want of a home, and in want of staying beside the one lion he trusted to have his back, he walked. Sore paws, dry mouth, and at times an empty belly were unable to keep him from following. As they both walked and searched, his muscles adapted, and he loved realizing when he had pushed himself farther than he had previously. Even when the terrain started to pose a challenge for them, he kept up. He was even, like his brother, feeling excited about what kind of pride would call these lands their home.
Reaching his brother's side to gaze around the lands, he closed his eyes to take in the scents, the sounds, and the feel. It was exhilarating, and quite literally a breath of fresh air.
"A thick boundary." Prakriti wrinkled his nose a bit. They couldn't throw caution to the wind here, and it would definitely be in their best interest to stay put until something- or someone- either chased them off or invited them in, or however these lands handled things.
"How long do you want to wait?" He questioned, kneading the dirt beneath his paws in a show of slight impatience.

Slava rolled her shoulders before she headed to the borders. Vaska was close at her heels, her twin giving a soft hum of curiosity as they walked along towards their destination. They were young, not the youngest, but they were more inexperienced than some of the other reavers in their family - and the pride.

Vaska was fine with that, fine with following in his twin's shadows, but Slava had this fierce need to be the best she could be. Slava huffed at her brother, glaring a bit at her twin.

"We're almost there, and then we'll just have to wait for a challenge to appear," Slava bumped her brother with her hip and he huffed and bumped her back.

"Fine, fine," he conceded, hoping they wouldn't just spend their whole day waiting around for someone to want a fight.

Purusha's nostrils flared as he noticed movement approaching from a ways' off, and his gaze slid to his brother. "Not long."
His tongue danced behind his teeth, claws scratching at the earth beneath his feet, but he waited.
He could attack without warning at a moment's notice, as he certainly bore the blood lust capable of it, but unless his brother gave him a signal, he wouldn't move a muscle. It didn't stop the small movements, however, and a rumbling began in his chest, the fur along his rigid spine starting to fluff in anticipation.
When the figure went from being one movement to two, he shifted his stance slightly in front of his brother, the muscles in his legs rippling. Despite the fact his brother could hold his own, Purusha wouldn't give them the satisfaction of striking him if he could stop them first.
He couldn't warn them, or let out a challenging roar. It took all he had to merely hold his ground firmly at the border.

Though he and his brother were capable in their own right, and Prakriti had no real qualms about defending himself, he would always rather simply not.
However, as the figure in the distance grew clearer, and the feel in the air around him and his brother became charged with tension, he couldn't help but allow a low rumble to escape him. With his spine tingling, claws sheathing and unsheathing, Prakriti stood at his brother's side, slightly behind him when the other stepped forewards, white fur brushing against white fur, all but meshing the two of them together. Being close helped with keeping his wits, at least.
One became two in the distance, clearer and clearer. It wasn't like he didn't think they were the only twins that existed in the lands, he just hadn't thought about such a thing happening when at the border of strange lands. Still, he could hope that either they would find this to be a place to belong, or they would walk away unscathed. At the very least, if it came to blows, he would be able to get a burst of momentum.
"Brother...?" His voice was uncertain, never taking his eyes off the approaching figures.

"I told you, Vaska!" The female reaver said proudly as she heard the challenging roar of the approaching lions. She bounded forward to meet the pair, uncaring if the battle would be two-on-one. Her brother would catch up eventually and join in the fight!

She could feel her blood sing in her veins! Ah, she was so excited, even if she lost this challenge, the new member would be a worthy member of their pride. A small price to pay! She would just have to get stronger.

"Slava!" Vaska called after his sister, huffing a bit as she rushed ahead of him. He took a deep breath before rushing after her. She was stronger than he was, individually, but they fought better as a pair. If this was a dual duel, then they would surely win, but with how excited Slava was, he would probably sit this one out either way.

Let the challenge begin...

"Brother...?"

That was all it took, and Purusha was ablaze with determination and a single-minded goal: his brother wasn't okay; he could hear it in the wavering of his voice. And that had to change. Now.

"We will challenge our way in." He spoke aloud, gaze sliding to Prakriti and hardening his resolve, though the 'we' in his speech was definitely an 'I', as his expression suggested.

He hesitated only a second, and it was enough for his gaze to choose the female, who seemed much more ready to fight than the other, and as long as he stayed that way, Purusha wouldn't see him as a threat.
He met her head-on, making sure there was enough space to keep Prakriti out of swinging range as he leapt at her, a growl rumbling from his chest as he took what he'd hoped to be a deterring snap at her, though whether or not he made contact, he didn't care. She was too close, too excited for a fight that he must win....

It wasn't in his nature to rush in, nor was it wise to. Holding his own, on his own, was no issue. Fighting side by side with his twin when they were both level-headed and ready was the way they had survived thus far. But Prakriti felt uneasy, hesitant. That was his cue to sit this one out.

And sit he did, literally. Though as his brother rushed for the female, he kept his eyes trained on the male, flicking the tip of his tail back and forth. There was going to be no funny business, hesitance or not, and if he made a move, so would Prakriti. 'Honor' wasn't the word he would use, really, but there was none in allowing two versus one. Thankfully, for now, it seemed all would be fair and he could only hope his presence was enough to inspire his brother.
