Ryala

Name: Ryala
Age: 20
Nameday: 3556.1.22
Sex: female
Sexual Orientation: heterosexual
Craft: Harper (singer/vocals)
Rank: Candidate
Location: Western Weyr

Physical Description: Standing around 5'7", Ryala's slender form seems nice, though her bust remains small. This can tend to be a bit of a problem for her, especially when looking for appropriate attire. Under arched brows, lovely blue-grey eyes view the world from behind wayward strands of long auburn hair, which gently falls halfway down her back. Her strait nose is bridged by a faint scattering of freckles, which also appear lightly on her arms. Aside from that, her skin appears to be flawless. However, despite her natural slightly tan skin tone, she can still be subject to sunburns if she stays in bright sunlight too long.

Her pointed chin seems to give her face the appearance of being delicate, an impression helped by her long slender fingers. Her long legs end in feet that are definitely not delicate... they're larger than she likes, and when walking the big toe on her right foot tends to pop up. The one on her left foot does, too, but not as noticeably. The problem causes her to go through footwear in anywhere from a sevenday (if the workmanship was shoddy) to half a Turn (with better material and craftsmanship).

Personality:
Generally quiet and gentle by nature, Ryala has been known to surprise folks with her strong will. She's a hard worker, and sincerely believes that there is nothing wrong with someone being their self. Oddly enough, she seems to be rather self-centered, though she's unaware of it. She will listen to what she's told, and follow orders until they clash with her own judgement. If she's told to do something that she disagrees with, she'll first ask why she should. If given an answer that conflicts with her beliefs, she'll ignore what she's told and instead do what she believes is right. Fortunately, this hasn't been a major issue over the Turns.

She also has little tolerance for those who try to shirk their duties, though she tries to be patient when dealing with them. She will not accept bullying, and tries to talk the offender into finding a better solution. She doesn't mind joking around, whether she's the one doing it, or someone else is, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone. She has great respect for workers of most professions, but has a particular fondness for music herself. When it comes to thieves, bandits, and *ahem* temporary company, though, she believes that they should be drawn and quartered, or dropped between.

Ryala can handle some of the day-to-day chores, like cleaning pots or mending bedfurs. However, she's an absolutely lousy cook, and should never be left responsible for fixing any meal. She absolutely refuses to touch any sort of alcoholic beverage, preferring to drink klah, fruit juices, or clean water.

Positive Trait List quiet, caring, respectful, honest, helpful
Negative Trait List stubborn, a little uncertain, can't cook, slightly self-centered

History: Ryala was born and raised as the second of three girls in a wealthy family in Bitra. The problem was, their wealth came from cheati -- uhh, gambling -- as tends to be the Bitran way. Although she turned out to not have any talent or interest for the art herself, she had no problems with spending the marks earned by the family. After all, if people felt the need to continuously be conned by the same tricks every time, then they deserved to lose their funds!

Being the middle child, Ryala was occasionally accused of having done things that her sisters did. Since, in her parents' eyes, her older sister was "old enough to know better" and her younger one was "too little to have done it", she ended up taking the fall for them a few times... but only when their was something in it for her, like a ribbon that she wanted. Otherwise, she found a way to prove that it was them that did whatever it was. The three of them mostly had fun together, though they still had nasty nicknames for each other. Ryala's sisters were fond of calling her "Beanpole", due to her growing height. It didn't bother her much, since her younger sister was a chubby little "Creampuff", and her older sister was a nagging "Wherry-hen".

As the girls grew older, their parents started looking for suitable husbands for them. Of course, "suitable" meant "wealthy". Not wishing to be stuck with some ugly old lecher simply because her parents liked his money (not yet a reality, but almost certain to happen, in her opinion... especially the way her parents were talking), she turned to the Harper for advice. Fortunately, her voice had, at this point, altered into a fair enough soprano that the local Harper had already given thought to requesting that she go to the main Harper Hall for training as a vocalist. With her parents' grudging permission, she gladly went. Sadly, voice was all that she was good at, but still she tried her best. When Thread returned, she felt herself fortunate indeed to be within those stone halls.

By the time she was 17, Ryala had grown skilled enough in her vocal training to be sent to perform at Gathers in distant Holds. However, when preparing to catch a dragonride home from a rather boisterous Gather at Rivercrest Hold, the dragon, one from Western Weyr, took an interest in her, and claimed that she had potential as a Candidate.

L'del

Name: L'del (originally Ladellan, or Del)
Age: 18
Sex: male
Sexual Orientation: heterosexual
Craft: none
Rank: Weyrling
Location: Western Hold

Physical Description: Standing at about 6'1" tall, Ladellan weighs roughly 180 lbs. His tall frame is nicely muscled from a combination of exercise and hard work. Green-grey eyes express his every emotion, no matter how hard he tries to hide them. Short, light brown hair crowns his head, although in the right light it can look almost blond. Laugh lines can be seen forming around his sensuous mouth, which is usually grinning out of his tanned face. Not always, though... his scowls can be fierce!

Ladellan's hands are large, with fingertips that seem squarish. There's a faint scar on his right arm, acquired Turns ago in a fight, and another scar on the back of his left thigh from a simple accident. Despite his size, he can move rather quickly when he wants to, though usually he tries to be careful not to hurt anyone or anything.

Personality: Ladellan has something of a "hero complex". That is, he's always ready to rush to someone's rescue, and save the day. Usually, this has been helpful, although there have been a few times that he's discovered that the one he was helping wasn't the victim (that's caused some problems), and there was one incident where the person didn't want his help. This habit of his has caused many to think that he's rash and careless. However, he can be rather down to earth (or down to Pern, as the case may be). Talk to him, and you may discover that he can be more serious, reasonable, and sensible than you'd originally thought.

Del also tries to see things from another person's point of view, and tries to see the bigger picture behind supposedly small issues, though these aims are not always successful. He's fiercely protective, and extremely loyal to his family and those who have earned his friendship. He has a strong inner drive, pushing himself to always do better.

He has a bit of a sentimental streak, and can be rather sensitive at times (especially when there's a girl involved). Naturally, he's always willing to meet girls. It doesn't matter to him whether they're pretty or not. He prefers to look for personality and humor over beauty... although having good looks never hurts, in his opinion! Yet, he prefers to keep his personal life private, as much as possible. Although he's used to being stared at (he knows that he's good lookin'!), he'd rather that no one dug any deeper than what he's willing to show. There won't be many that he'd be willing to share more with.

Positive Trait List loyal, chivalrous, sensible
Negative Trait List stubborn, guarded, vain

History: Coming from a family of farmers, Ladellan grew up being the middle child. With one older brother to inherit the land, he was given the freedom to think of doing something else with his life. When his little sister was born, he showed how protective he could be, trying to keep her from harm. As he grew older, he decided that that's what he wanted to do: protect people. With dreams of becoming a guard for a major hold, Del began practicing and exercising every evening after his work was done for the day. He wasn't very good at first, and early on he ended up tripping backwards and landing on one of his father's tools, which resulted in a shallow gash on the back of his left leg. Thankfully, it hadn't hit the muscle, so once he healed he had only a scar to show for it.

One day when he was twelve, Ladellan went to help his sister, who was being bullied by an older boy. Much to his surprise, the other boy pulled a knife on him, and managed to score him on the arm before he could pull out his own blade. Fortunately, his father arrived in time to keep anyone else from getting hurt... especially since Del was ready to slice this guy up and leave him in the infirmary. He was furious for sevendays afterwards... what kind of coward brings a knife with him to harrass a little girl? After that, he kept a closer watch on his sister, and increased his nighly training to hone his reflexes.

Things were mostly quiet around the farm, though... especially after that last incident. Apparently, the other youths in the area had decided that he wasn't someone that they were willing to anger, although there were always a few who didn't mind the challenge. However, nothing else of real interest happened until Thread made it's grand (and disastrous) reappearance. He was eighteen, however, before a dragon arrived and selected him as a potential candidate for the Weyr. For Del, it was perfect... what better way to protect everyone, than from the back of a dragon? This would be better than being a guard!

Much to his delight, Del Impressed bronze Helsinth at his first Hatching, knowing that he'd found a partner who would always help those in need.

Bronze Helsinth
Written by Masterharper
Colored by demon_pachabel

User Image

Origin of Name: Helsinth is named after the original Professor Abraham Van Helsing in Bram Stoker's Dracula. He was not, perhaps, the most notorious of hunters, but the name Van Helsing has taken on a personality and life his own. In the book, the doctor utilized many different tools to aid in the defeat of vampires and the undead, as well as to protect himself and his companions. While he might not have had as much flash and charm as modern day hunters in current series, the name Van Helsing will always go down as the destroyer of all things supernatural.

Inspiration: This bronze is based on the supernatural Hunter. They are often a character in folklore and fiction who specialize in finding and destroying vampires and other supernatural creatures. A hunter is usually described as having extensive knowledge of vampires and other monstrous creatures, including their powers and weaknesses, and uses this knowledge to effectively combat them. In many works, hunters are simply humans with more than average knowledge about the occult, while in others they are themselves supernatural beings, having superhuman abilities.

Some popular Hunters are: Abraham Van Helsing in Dracula, Sam and Dean Winchester in Supernatural, The Belmont Clan in Castlevania, Buffy Summers from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Blade from Marvel's Blade Comic, and many more.

Personality: Helsinth might be a smaller sized bronze, but he has an incredibly large personality! The first thing that stands out about him is his protective nature -- he won't hesitate to be the first to stand up and fight against the evils of the world to keep his rider and his loved ones safe. He has a keen hatred for Threadfall, and will desire noting more than to strike it down. It is the greatest threat to Pern, and his rider, and the rest of his clutchmates, had best to take it seriously! Helsinth is the sort of dragon who will train, train, train, and try to ensure that they are best prepared in taking down the evil silver rain. But Thread isn't the only enemy out there. Helsinth doesn't abide a bully, and any dragon that starts picking on those smaller, or of the "wrong" color, will find this bronze at their throat if they're not careful. Helsinth will defend those who can't defend themselves, but there is little room for peace. He is a react first, ask questions later, especially if it is obvious someone needs help.

Helsinth's the sort to easily become obsessed with his duty as a fighting dragon. He will live, breathe, eat, and drink training; he will think of nothing but how to best succeed in destroying The Enemy. While he is all about following the tried and true methods, he's not afraid to try new techniques, either. His rider will need to keep him in line during drills and training because Helsinth won't hesitate to go rogue if he thinks he has a better way.

The ends will always justify the means for Helsinth, particularly when it comes to doing what he feels is right. This is where Helsinth finds himself crossing from "good guy" to "villain" if he's not careful. While there is no doubting that his heart is in the right place, the fact that he will do whatever he must to get the outcome he desires can prove disastrous. What happens when his idea to successfully flame a chunk of thread gets another dragon hurt? What happens when his pushing and threatening of a sibling to achieve some goal results in a loss of trust or friendship? Helsinth's rider had best keep his dragon in check so he doesn't turn into the very monsters he hates!

Helsinth is a strong dragon, and not just physically. He can take a hit, and he will always be able to support his friends and wingmates when they are in need. Trouble will brew when someone he loves is hurt, attacked, or wronged -- Helsinth will personally feel like it his duty to exact justice! He can be quite vindictive, and will hold it against whomever has done him wrong until vengeance has been served.

Positive Traits: Protective, Strong, Crafty
Negative Traits: Vindictive, Machiavellian, Obsessive

Adult Size: 36'
Physical Attributes: Helsinth isn't the largest of bronzes but he's built like a brick. He will always be well muscled, and his smaller size allows him a bit more agility on wing than some of his larger brethren. He has stamina in droves, and a solid flame rate. He works hard and plays hard and will be an asset to any Wing that takes him in.

Additional Notes: He's not as close to Akeroth as one might imagine, though they do often have a similar viewpoint. He absolutely loathes Strigonth and Illiandinth, and won't hesitate to bristle and start fights with them just because he can. He truly believes they never should have hatched in the first place. He is protective of any of his more vulnerable clutch siblings provided they are good.

Theme Song: Carry On My Wayward Son by Kansas

Why Me? Ladellan was the only Candidate perfect for Helsinth, and this little dragon knew it the moment the boy touched his egg! Together, the two of them can save the day, and bring good to all of Pern. Neither of them shall be tainted by the corruption of the world, and Helsinth will ensure that his rider is protected at all times.

Honestly, these two are two peas in a pod! The bronze will enjoy Ladellan's drive to better himself and will be there to push him to become the hero he knows he can be! Should Ladellan doubt himself, Helsinth will not hesitate to encourage him, and remind him of his greatness. On the flip side, Ladellan's reasonable nature will hopefully keep Helsinth from going too far off the deep end with his black-and-white world views. Helsinth doesn't always see the big picture, and can get hung up with his obsessions or distaste for unsavory individuals. Ladellan will be able to keep his dragon in line with a firm hand, and pull him back if he starts showing signs of the villain within.

There is no doubt that these two are destined for great things.

Gwyn

Name: Gwynwwyn (Gwyn)
Age: 18
Nameday: 3557.02.13
Sex: Female
Sexual Orientation: Hetero
Craft: ---
Rank: Holder/Candidate
Location: High Reaches Weyr

Physical Description: Gwyn stands about 5'6" with slightly wavy shoulder length brown hair and blue eyes. Though she's slender, her face is softly rounded, and her smiles tend to be small and lopsided. Her pale skin is marked with a darker scar on her left wrist, where she once accidentally burned herself on a hot pan.

Personality: You're an idiot. Don't take it personally though... In Gwyn's eyes, pretty much everyone is an idiot. She has a habit of finding a way of doing things that perfectly suits her, loves the simple logic behind her way... but anyone who deviates from this is viewed as an absolute moron. If you have a way that actually is better than hers, she's not afraid to sincerely apologise, and attempt to learn. If you manage to do something 'stupid', though, don't fret. She'll grumble and fuss about whatever it is, while 'fixing' it her way (if possible). However, those who know her understand that this is due to her being very dedicated. If it didn't matter to her, she wouldn't be so adamant about it, after all. No, she doesn't want to be the one in charge... she'd much rather just do her best to get the job done right.

Forging new friendships can be a bit of a challenge for her, as Gwyn prefers her own space and privacy. Befriend her, though, and you'll discover that she's extremely loyal, understanding, and thoughtful. Her sarcasm is free for anyone, though, and she's perfectly happy to share it along with her wit. Her humor is kinda bold, and some people have learned quickly not to drink hot klah around her, lest she make a witty remark.

Positive Trait List thoughtful, loyal, understanding, dedicated
Negative Trait List introvert, temperamental, sarcastic, fussy

History: Gwyn was raised in a small cothold that had been built in an old cave. She was raised as an only child by her father, who refuses still to tell her what happened to her mom. Still, despite her reclusive ways, she managed to make a few friends over the Turns. When they were playing, she was cautious but happy. If they were working together on anything, though... Well, she managed to lose a couple friends when heard her muttering and saw her changing things that they'd goofed up on. It didn't really bother her too much... to her, they were just unwilling to admit that they were wrong, and fix the problem.

She was 15 when Thread fell again. Despite her protests, and much to her horror, her father decided that now was the perfect time to start trying to match her with a "suitable" husband ("You need to continue the family line!" and "With Thread falling now, you need to give thought to future generations!" being two of his oft-repeated arguments). Gwyn, of course, didn't see any need to marry... she wasn't interested in being some idiot's good little wifey, having kids and cleaning up after them and him. So, any time her father invited anyone with a marriageable son over, Gwyn would deliberately ignore him as if he didn't exist. So far, the confused boys have not offered a proposal.

It was much to her surprise when, during a visit to Balen Hold to "see her aunt" (in reality, it was just another attempt by her father to secure an offer for her hand), a dragon flew in on Search, and made it clear that Gwyn (who was 18 at this time) was eligible to stand for the chance of Impressing. The dragons, as she knew, were of the greatest importance to Pern. She didn't have any clue how she might help, other than by possibly Impressing one and doing her best as a rider. So she went, hoping to do exactly that.

Other: Her father was very much against the idea of Gwyn getting any Harper training. Fortunately, one of her friends' mother had been properly taught, and had done her best to educate her along with her own children. Gwyn isn't the greatest at maths, but she has the basics.

Avali

Name: Avali
Age: 16
Nameday: Turnover
Sex: Female
Sexual Orientation: Hetero
Craft: none
Rank: Weyrling
Location: High Reaches Weyr

Physical Description: Avali hates how she looks, believing that she's not even slightly pretty. Standing at 5'7", she's slender, but still as flat-chested as a boy. Shoulder-length hair of an indeterminate shade of brown frames her long face with loose curls, though it has no gloss to it. Easily, her best feature would be her sparkling blue-grey eyes. More noticable, though, is what she calls a "wherry beak" nose. Her mouth is small, and when she smiles you can see a dimple to the right of it.

Long of leg and small of waist, finding clothes for her growing height has been a problem for Turns. Long, slender fingers grace her hands, making them appear delicate. Her feet, though, are definitely not delicate... they're larger than she likes, making her feel awkward.

Personality: Generally, Avali is rather quiet and shy, though she wishes frequently that this were not the case. If given the chance, she would prove to be friendly, once she managed to get over her uncertainties of how others might perceive her to be. Of course, there's always someone who she discovers that she can't get along with, and those people she simply tries to leave alone or ignore. If the person has authority over her, or someone gets in her face and yells, she gets nervous and upset, resulting in a poorer quality in her work. After all, no one likes having someone yelling in their face, and if a journeyman or master is giving her problems there's not much she can do about it except fret (with doesn't help at all). Though she's not aware of it, Avali can be extremely stubborn and determined. She never noticed, though, because she's only really aware of the shy, quiet side of herself. If she has to defend herself, she finds it nearly impossible to do so, due to a combination of her low self-esteem and her uncertainty of what to do. However, if one of her friends is in trouble, or if someone tries to get her to do something that she disagrees with, she'll put her foot down and will refuse to budge an inch on the matter, without giving any conscious thought to what she's doing. There are, after all, certain things that she will NEVER do (such as jumping into bed with someone just to gain their favor) and she cherishes her few friends (namely because she has so few). Afterward, if asked, she'd shrug and say that she didn't know why she did it (which she honestly wouldn't) and change the subject, back to being her usual, quiet self.

Avali always strives to do her best in anything that she does. Unfortunately, she's still hopeless when it comes to basic chores, like cleaning or making her bed. She's also a dreamer, and has been found daydreaming instead of working on more than one occasion (much to her embarrassment, and oddly only when she's supposed to be cleaning). She likes to help people, even if they're not aware that it was her that did so. For example: if someone needed to be cheered up, she would try to find them a gift that they'd like... and if that failed, she'd try to make one. She will listen to what she's told, and follow orders until they clash with her own judgement. If she's told to do something that she disagrees with, she'll ignore what she's told and do what she believes is right, even if she knows that it will anger someone in authority (again, there are things that she'd never do, no matter who tells her to do so). She has learned that, sometimes, there was a good reason for what she was told, though she learned this the hard way (such as when she was 4, and climbed on a table that she was told to stay off of... and them promptly fell off of, hitting her head). If the one whose orders she disagrees with wanders off, fully expecting that she'll do as she was told, she'll simply not do it (or do something else that she deems more appropriate). If the person sticks around to see her do it, she'll duck her head and quietly tell them no. If given the opportunity, she'll try to explain her reasoning why; if not, she'll simply continue to shake her head, and wait for the expected blow. Better that, in her opinion, than to be dishonest to herself.

Having been made fun of for so many Turns growing up, Avali has grown to be uncertain and hesitant around people that she doesn't know. At times, she even suspects that others are talking about her behind her back. She's certain that they do it because she won't do anything to stop them, which only encourages them to continue without fear of reprisal. She's equally certain, though, that there are folks who are better than that (after all, she doesn't do anything like that... and she can't be the only one, right?). The problem is finding out which type of person someone is: the type who'll insult her and pick on her for fun; the type who would ignore her as if she were beneath their notice; or the type who would be willing to talk to her and discover for themselves what she's like. To test that, she uses her looks... the only good thing about her appearance, in her opinion. She's learned that most people tend to prefer girls who range from pretty to downright beautiful, and she firmly believes that she's plain (at best). So if someone insults her appearance, she avoids them. If they look at her and keep walking, she leaves them alone. If they try being friendly, she'll make an effort to overcome her natural shyness enough to talk to them.

Strengths: Respectful, determined, friendly, thoughtful, honest
Weaknesses: Shy, stubborn, dreamer, low self-esteem, a little messy

History: From a family holding in Telgar, Avali is the second of three daughters. Being the middle child, Avali was occasionally accused of having done things that her sisters did. This ended when she was 8, when her parents caught the older sister in the act of doing something... and even after being caught still trying to pin the blame on Avali. Despite this, the three of them mostly had fun together. The other youths in the area, though, tended to pick on her, mostly due to her less-than-ideal appearance. Due to this, she grew to have little in the way of self-esteem.

As she grew older and started assuming more household duties around the hold, her folks noticed that she tended to 'slack off', stopping whatever she was doing to daydream. Asking the local harper about it, he tested her, and discovered that while she was, indeed, a dreamer, there might be a reasonable outlet for it. Recommending that they allow her to try an apprenticeship at the Harper Hall, they tentatively agreed. To everyone's surprise, the dragon who arrived to transport her announced that she was suitable as a Candidate, and she chose to go to the Weyr rather than to the crafthall.

At her first hatching, she was startled when the eggs decided to start hatching in the middle of the night. When an egg rather near to her burst, the girl found herself covered in sticky egg goo and itty bitty fragments of shell. Shortly after, another Hatchling stumbled into her, and she fell to the Sands. Though unhurt, she was embarrassed to be standing there covered in sand, shards, and goop. When a green hatchling stopped long enough to reassure her, it cheered her immensely.

And then another green hatchling stopped before her...

Oh, my poor Avali! What's happened? Can your Zyreth help?

Other: Avali and her sisters were all given a firelizard egg each for Turnover at the end of 3574. Due to it also being her Nameday, Avali received a larger egg. It was much to her surprise (and her sisters' disgust) that her egg hatched a gold flit, while theirs were only blues.

Name: Zyreth
Origin of Name: Her name is taken from the Tyrol region (where the breed was developed), and combined with the practice of giving fillies a name beginning with the first letter of their dam's name.
Color: Green
Inspiration: The Haflinger, also known as the Avelignese, is a breed of horse developed in Austria and northern Italy (namely Hafling in South Tyrol region) during the late 19th century. Haflinger horses are relatively small, are always chestnut with flaxen mane and tail, have distinctive gaits described as energetic but smooth, and are well-muscled yet elegant. The breed traces its ancestry to the Middle Ages; several theories for its origin exist. Haflingers, developed for use in mountainous terrain, are known for their hardiness. Their current conformation and appearance are the result of infusions of bloodlines from Arabian and various European breeds into the original native Tyrolean ponies. The foundation sire, 249 Folie, was born in 1874; by 1904, the first breeders' cooperative was formed. All Haflingers can trace their lineage back to Folie through one of seven bloodlines. World Wars I and II, as well as the Great Depression, had a detrimental effect on the breed, and lower-quality animals were used at times to save the breed from extinction. During World War II, breeders focused on horses that were shorter and more draft-like, favored by the military for use as packhorses. The emphasis after the war shifted toward animals of increased refinement and height.

In the postwar era, the Haflinger was indiscriminately crossed with other breeds and some observers feared the breed was in renewed danger of extinction. However, starting in 1946, breeders focused on producing purebred Haflingers and a closed stud book was created. Interest in the breed increased in other countries, and between 1950 and 1974, the population grew, even while the overall European horse population decreased. Population numbers continued to increase steadily, and as of 2005, almost 250,000 Haflingers existed worldwide. Breeding farms are in several countries, although most of the breeding stock still comes from Austria. In 2003, a Haflinger became the first horse to be cloned, resulting in a filly named Prometea.

Haflingers have many uses, including light draft, harness work, and various under-saddle disciplines such as endurance riding, dressage, equestrian vaulting, and therapeutic riding. They are also still used by the Austrian and German armies for work in rough terrain. The World Haflinger Federation, the international governing body that controls breed standards for the Haflinger, is made up of a confederation of 22 national registries, and helps set breeding objectives, guidelines, and rules for its member organizations.

Personality: Though generally quiet, Zyreth is definitely intelligent, and make no mistake. She's quick to catch onto things while training, and easy to work with. If a behavior is encouraged (or not discouraged), Zyreth is likely to pursue it further. Her rider will need to keep that in mind as she grows. Being this bright means she's likely to get into mischief though, whether it's by stepping beyond the boundaries of her station as a green, or something as silly as trying to sneak out late to play in the snow.

She can also be rather stubborn at times. If Zyreth believes that she knows more than her rider, or that her plan is better, it can be difficult to convince her to listen. For example, if she has decided that doing drills in a rainstorm is unsafe, she may be very reluctant or refuse to go. She's not doing this to be vindictive or problematic, she's simply decided that it might be dangerous and that the wisest course of action is to stay out of it. In such cases, it's better to just show her that it's ok, by having someone leading the example.

Perhaps it's not too surprising, though, to learn that with her friendly nature, she's likely to make a good Searchdragon when she gets older. However, she might well unnerve some of the more nervous candidates with her tendency to nuzzle them while doing so.

Positive Traits: quiet, friendly, intelligent
Negative Traits: stubborn, wary, inquisitive

Size: 21'
Physical Attributes: Though she's not particularly tall, Zyreth will always have a slender look to her. She's well muscled, her back slightly longish, and her wings a little wider to accommodate that. Her legs are perhaps slightly longer than the average.

Additional Notes: Endurance might not be her greatest strength, but with her lighter build Zyreth will be a touch faster, and maneuverable. Her tolerance for pain will be high, though naturally she'll still try to avoid it. It will definitely help if she ever needs the assistance of a healer, though.

Why Me: Really, none other would do, and this green knew that the moment she sensed the girl. The two are remarkably alike, though they're just different enough to be able to help one another. In Avali, Zyreth has found a quiet mind who is not likely to try to force her to do something before she's ready. The girl offers patient explanations and examples to help her new winged friend to learn what she needs. Likewise, though the girl is rather shy, this green's tendency to be friendly will lead Avali into situations where she must learn to interact with others, and over time help her to feel more comfortable when speaking with people, and increase her self confidence as well
