"Do you need me to stay, Miss Haukai?" she asked, looking over to where the candidates were filing off of the sands. Her natural desire not to get in trouble made her want to go with them. But she wasn't going to abandon a patient just because of that. Even if she got barred from standing because of it.
Still, since the journeymen healers had arrived, they seemed to have taken control of the situation. She wouldn't rule out that they could still need an extra pair of hands, which is why she waited to see what they said, but it looked as though they were handling things. So as they are transporting the woman off of the sands, Aislin rocked back on her heels and stood up, following the last candidates out of the hatching grounds.
Aelyn met her at the edge on the sands, hugging onto her arm tightly, without saying anything. They'd both been thorough several touchings before, but it was safe to say none had ended quite as abruptly or as badly as that one. |

L'rel continued to pat the girl's back as she gathered herself. He really didn't think himself qualified to comfort a small traumatized person so he remained rather stiff. Thankfully Nebbi didn't seem to notice.
Poor thing, do give her a proper hug.

Both arms, she needs to feel safe.
L'rel shot his dragon a look, he knew she would like nothing better than to unfold the child but she was holding back so as not to spook her more with undue contact, she remained the comforting presence nosing in against her occasionally. L'rel was about to answer his green with due rebuff when Nebbi spoke up.
"What?" L'rel frowned. "You can't fail a touching. Who put that stupid notion in your head?"
"Be gentle." Devith reminded him with light scolding, her rider sometimes suffered from lack of tact so it was only right that she step in she spoke directly to the Nebbi.
"He is right, even if some eggs react badly to you, well that is no indication that your own partner is not among them, I doubt you even had time to touch all of them." the green pointed out encouragingly.
"So you must attend the hatching, because no matter how slim the chance, to leave your own partner lost, alone without you on the sands. That would be a terrible thing. |
