He'd heard rumors about this place, about how it liked to sneak up on creeple and steal them away when they least expected it, how there were bad things in here that wanted to kill him forever, but all of those rumors only made him want to explore the house more. Carrol was surprisingly adept at sneaking around in the dark, with his midnight skin and tiny bare feet, and the glowing eye on his forehead only lent creepiness to his overall presence as he shuffled forward, investigating room after room with intermittent giggles and a crooked grin.
All those guys who were afraid of this place were—
The vase he'd been holding slipped out of his hands and shattered on the floor, startling him into wide-eyed, mute horror. The sound echoed around him, a breeze tickling his naked ankles. Okay, yeah, fine, that'd been kind of spooky, even though it had been all his fault.

What was that?
~Sounded like something breakin, boi. Best check it out.~ There was a slight pause, where in Henry hesitated, his fingers gripping his weapon tightly, before Niceven continued. ~Carefully.~
Right...
It didn't take long to find the source, and when he did, Henry was relieved to see that the...monster? Wasn't a large one. They were roughly the same height, the same build, though Henry didn't have a hole in his abdomen, nor a third eye on his forehead.
Swallowing, Henry stepped out of the shadows to make himself known, features hardening into something more confident as she held his weapon at the ready.

Henry had taken an instinctive step back out of the strange boy's immediate reach, watching him warily, even if he didn't move in for a second attack.
"I don't, um." Baby blues flicked to his weapon, and then up again, expression a little guarded. "I don't know, but maybe?" It seemed likely, at least, since Henry hadn't consciously done anything to cause the shock.
Pale brows rose at the students eager willingness to fight, and for just a moment Henry considered flat out refusing, but Nicky, in their soft voice, asked him why. It made him pause to consider it. "I guess it's kind of like a spar..." Only without shields. he did have his pendent, though.
It wasn't a very strong beginning, not by any means, but as Henry swung the points of the star grazed across the student's arm.
