Blue Aramath
Written by Masterharper
Colored by Andranis

User Image

Origin of Name: Aramath's name stems from the name, Adam. In Mary Shelley's book, The Modern Prometheus, the nameless creature says "I ought to by thy Adam." Thus, Aramath is named after the Maori translation of Adam, Arama.

Inspiration: Aramath is based on the Frankenstein Monster found in Mary Shelley's "The Modern Prometheus" -- also known as Frankenstein. The monster is nameless throughout the book, and inhabits traits of both a protagonist and antagonist. Unlike modern portrayals, the monster tended to have great intelligence, and sensitive nature... but was hideous in appearance, and eventually became embittered by constant rejection.

In modern portrayals he is often blue or green in skin coloration, and is either mute, or forced only to speak in guttural grunts and single words. Throughout he seems to have the power of superhuman strength, speed, and intelligence. He can withstand extreme temperatures, exposure, and starvation.

He doesn't have too many weaknesses, though in the book he is thought to have incinerated himself. He seems to have an aversion to fire and his reflection.

Personality: All you need is love, and Aramath is the sort of blue who believes it. Out of all the dragons in the clutch, Aramath is perhaps the most sincere and sensitive dragon of them all. At first glance, he is a sweetheart who wants nothing more than to love and be loved. His rider had better be all right with snuggles, because Aramath will be incredibly touchy-feely. He will be as close to his rider as he can get, and if his rider is unavailable, will happily seek out one of his clutchsibs, or another dragon, to try to cozy on up to. Physical touch is something this dragon craves, and he will not hesitate to offer headbutts and nudges to every one he meets.

Aramath is a very eloquent dragon. He is intelligent, but unlike Sarcoth, who tends to look down his nose at others, Aramath is much more tender. He does not judge those who are not as clever or well spoken as him; he will not sneer if one of his wingmates needs extra help or guidance, and he will be patient and kind so long as others are patient and kind to him. This blue is sensitive to his needs, his riders needs, and his clutchsibs and wingmates. If they are in pain, he will be distressed on their behalf; if they are angry, he will get angry! If rejected, or spurned, Aramath will be utterly devastated...

And his hearts are known to easily break.

This is when his ugly side tends to appear. Aramath's sensitivity can turn him a bit too emotional. In times of high stress, he can easily panic or worry. In times of grief, Aramath takes it exceptionally hard. His emotions can be difficult to reason with, and logic doesn't always work when he's one of his strong moods; but it's his anger, and is temper, that causes other dragons to beware!

Aramath's most foul of moods is his anger, and when he gets mad, he sees red fast. Raging isn't enough for the dragon, no -- when he is upset, or hurt, he will become violent. His tantrum will cause him to lash out, to snap, snarl, and bite; while he would never hurt his rider, other dragons are fair game to his need to vent. Usually, they are those who caused his rage, or those close to the source. This will likely cause his rider and himself trouble as he grows; a snap from a baby dragon might hurt, but a smack from a full adults tail or wing could seriously damage or hurt someone.

Of course, as soon as the object of his ire is finally wounded, or his anger finally is subdued, Aramath will feel nothing but regret. It will be up to his rider to try to get Aramath over this temper and need for vengeance before they get too big, and before someone really gets hurt.

Positive Traits: Sensitive, Eloquent, Loving
Negative Traits: Emotional, Violent Temper, Vengeful

Adult Size: 33'
Physical Attributes: Aramath is big blue. He is large, hulking, and ultimately a beast. While blues are known for their speed and dexterity, Aramath is built more like a brick. He may not be as fast as his peers, but he can take a hit, and he has great stamina. Unfortunately, his violence can cause him to do a bit of damage when he manages to take it out on something, or someone.

Additional Notes: Aramath has an aversion to fire, which is going to make flaming tricky. His rider will need to work with him so he learns to properly flame. Once in the air, he'll also be an anxious Threadfighter, if only because of all the flaming, burns, and ash surrounding him. Additionally, Aramath will love to chase during flights. He is a lover at heart, and desperately wants a mate his own. Once he finds a true love, he will have eyes for no one but them, and will chase none other.

He is closest to Therianth, Sarcoth, and Strigonth, but has a deep fondness for Loreleth.

Theme Song: Another Love by Tom Odell

Why Me? There was no one for Aramath but Silviu. First and foremost, he has all the love in the world to give the clumsy boy. He will be there to support him in all of his trials and tribulations -- any anxiety or insecurity Silviu might feel will be instantly overwhelmed by love, and endless support and encouragement from Aramath. There is nothing to fear in this world, not with the blue by his side. He needs no other approval in the world but Aramath's, and this blue is nothing but enraptured by his rider.

No longer will Silviu need to fear being taken advantage of, for Aramath will ensure that his rider is safe, secure, and protected. Should anyone dare to bull his rider, they will find one massive blue snarling behind him!

This is, unfortunately, where Aramath need's Silviu's help. This blue can be quite sensitive and emotional, and while he might come to lean on his rider for comfort, it is his temper that is his biggest weakness. While Silviu is afraid of losing control of his temper, he'll now have to help his dragon in dealing with his! Aramath is likely to become aggressive and violent when his temper is invoked -- if Silviu doesn't come down firmly, or learn to ease his dragon out of it, then they might both be in trouble as he gets bigger. Aramath would never, ever, hurt his rider -- he wouldn't even bristle at him -- but one ill-timed snap or one botched slash at someone else very well could. This may not be easy for either rider or dragon, but their tempers are something the two will need to conquer together.

Aramath is poise to be a great defender of Pern -- but like his rider, he'll need a little polishing before he really shines.

Green Seirath
Written by Masterharper

Origin of Name: Seirath comes from the emytology of the actual word, Siren. It's thought that the name siren comes from either seirá "rope, cord", or eírō "to tie, join, fasten", as Sirens are known to entangle and ensnare their victims with music.

Inspiration: This dragon is based on the Siren. While it might not be a stereotypical monster, its influence can be found in many modern fantasies. Merfolk and harpies are both thought to be closely related to the siren. In Greek mythology they were considered part women and part bird, with their beautiful voices luring their victims; in Roman mythology they were thought to have ties to the sea. As the myth continued over the years, it was thought both their voices and their bodies were able to enrapture their victims.

Sirens often take the form of a woman, who lure sailors to them with their enchanting voices. Once enraptured, the sirens kill their victim, and destroy their ships.

According to modern stories, Sirens can read their victims mind, and take on the form of an ideal lover.

If a siren fails to lure their victim through song, they will kill themselves.

Personality: The first thing someone notices about Seirath is just how lovely she happens to be. The second thing someone notices about Seirath is her voice! While other dragons might honk and bellow and trumpet, this green dragon always knows how to hit a perfectly pleasing pitch. Her trumpets are golden and smooth, her trills never sharp or flat. While she can't exactly sing, for a dragon, she has quite the voice. Seirath also seems to know how to put feeling in her vocals -- when she bugles in triumph, you can tell she's joyous; and when she keens in sorrow, those around her might well wish to weep.

She is a very expressive dragon. Her eyes will always display what she's feeling, and her body language will mimic such a thing. When she's happy she might all but bounce around her rider; when she's looking to flirt -- and when isn't she looking to flirt -- she'll be sure to move with all the grace she was gifted with. It isn't difficult to read what Seirath wants... but good luck keeping her interested.

This green is difficult to please. She is a flirt, and she will flirt with just about anyone and anything. She especially enjoys flirting with the boys, making them squirm, and then laughing at their ridiculousness. Honestly, Seirath might actually look down upon the males of the world -- it's not that she thinks less of them, they just are so easily played! Females are far too clever, and far too beautiful for that matter, to waste too much time on them. Still, the petite green enjoys teasing the boys, and will never hesitate to take another lady under her wing.

For all that she's an amicable green, she does have her odd mood. Her rider will find her quite a needy creature. Beneath all her flirtations, and all her desires to impress others with her songs, she does not like being without attention. While she doesn't need to be the center of attention all the time, she at least likes someone -- or maybe a few someones -- to recognize her for what she's worth. While her need for affirmation from her rider and clutchmates might seem cute as a hatchling, she may need help finding her own inner strength as she grows, as no dragon can receive constant praise or support. She also has a tendency to be insecure. While she is accustomed to others fawning over her, it's when they look away, or stop doing so, that this green suddenly wonders -- is she pretty enough? Is she talented enough? Add any amount of criticism and this green can become quite uncertain.

And oh, Faranth forbid a rival -- or even a friend -- start stealing the show around her. Oh, Seirath can get quite jealous. If someone gets a fancy gift, she will quietly, secretly, seethe and desire her own fancy trinket. If someone gets praise for some maneuver, she will try to do something twice as flashy, so she might also get praised too. Oh, Seirath likes to claim she can share the limelight... but the reality is she can't stand to be overshadowed.

She might not like her jealous streak, but it's there all the same, just waiting to get her and her rider in trouble. If her rider can't keep Seirath's jealousy in line, they might well be taken for quite the ride all in the name of need.

Positive Traits: Musical, Flirtatious, Expressive
Negative Traits: Jealous, Insecure, Needy

Adult Size: 21'
Physical Attributes: This green is a beautiful specimen -- she's neither overly muscled, nor under weight. She is sleek in design, and while her wings are, perhaps, a bit longer than some of her kin, it only adds to her delicate beauty. She is swift once in the air, and will be able to dazzle with her aeriel maneuvers. Her stamina is on the shorter side, unfortunately, which tends to make her mating flights short but sweet. Her rider will need to ensure they don't overdue it while fighting thread or in weyrling training -- especially when Seirath wants to show off or turn all eyes on them.

Additional Notes: Seirath is truly a ladies green. While she absolutely loves enrapturing the men -- and you can be sure she'll have a line of them waiting to do her bidding -- she most enjoys dashing their hopes and dreams. She will let herself be flown by them, but much prefers the company of her beautiful greens. Men are fun and games, but a lady is forever.

She is also quite melodious for a dragon. Her vocalizations -- creels, bugles, hums, trills, and croons -- are surprisingly on key. They're expressive, and usually pleasing to the ear.

Theme Song: Loreley by Blackmore's Night
Why Me? From the beginning, Seirath knew that she wanted a lady... but when she felt Amra's presence, she knew just exactly which lady it was that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. Amra, you are Seirath's ideal. A beautiful, powerful, self-actualized woman. She finds her rider endlessly fascinating, and would love to be the singer to go with her lady's dancer. They have so much common ground that it's hard to know where to start, but at the end of the day, it is Amra's strength that Seirath needs so desperately. She would like nothing more than to be the badass she sees in her Impressed, and perhaps one day they'll prove to the world what an incredible match they truly make.

Green Dokkaeth
Written by Teiha
Colored by demon_pachabel

User Image

Origin of Name: The Dokkaebi is the Korean version of a goblin. They are thought to be formed by the spiritual possession of an inanimate object such as old discarded household tools like brooms, and they are usually harmless, but very mischievous. There are many different types of these goblins, but most enjoy playing pranks or challenging travelers to a competition for the right to pass.

Inspiration: The Goblin: Goblins are a popular part of fairy tales and myths all over the world. They are usually pictured as small humanoid creatures, about half a man’s size or shorter. Some types of goblin are thin and spindly and resemble Gollum from the Lord of the Rings stories, and some look like little old men with beards, resembling your typical garden gnome. They can be harmless, helpful, or evil. Two of the most common themes between the different types can be illustrated by the hobgoblin and the redcap. The hobgoblin is a household creature who helps out around the home and farm in exchange for a portion of food. (Harry Potter’s Dobby the house-elf may be a depiction of one such creature.) The redcap, on the other hand, is a brutal fiend who kills humans and dyes its hat red with their blood. Kinda makes you rethink having one of those red-hatted garden gnomes in your backyard, doesn’t it?

Personality: You! You there! Wanna wrestle? No? Well, fine then! Why don’t we get a snack instead?

That is the outermost layer of green Dokkaeth. She loves to wrestle, and will challenge any dragon to a friendly match. She also immensely enjoys hide-and-seek, but tends to get upset if she is spotted while hiding. She prefers to win, after all, so she’ll be fiercely competitive in any game. She eats a lot for her size, due to her high energy, and can be manipulated into doing almost anything if food is involved. Her rider will need to be careful that she doesn’t overeat!

Dokkaeth is at heart a mischievous creature. She likes exploring new places, snooping them out and “borrowing” souvenirs everywhere she goes. She’ll also borrow things from places she’s been a hundred times, if something strikes her fancy and she can come up with a reason why she’d be the best owner for it.

This green often won’t be bothered to speak to humans aside from her bonded, but is quite chatty and affectionate with other dragons. She even has a special bugle she uses to announce her arrival to friends – not a loud, pretentious sound, but a little trill that almost has the cadence of laughter.

Positive Traits: Playful, Social, Energetic
Negative Traits: Mischievous, Poor Loser, Gluttonous

Adult Size: 18’
Physical Attributes: Dokkaeth has long, skinny toes and long, sharp talons to go with her narrow, sly-looking face. Her headknobs curl inward and up, completing her rakish look. She has average stamina for a green, and prefers to use it in short, insanely fast bursts. She can easily gain weight if her rider is not diligent to manage her eating habits, and so has the potential to become a bit tubby as she ages.

Additional Notes: When she rises, blues are Dokkaeth’s favored mates. Because of their similar stamina and agility, she finds them the most fun to fly with. She does not like the sight or scent of red blood, and will distance herself from it if at all possible.

Theme Song: Clash of Clans "GOBLIN SONG!"
Why Me? Apate won Dokkaeth's heart and loyalty FIVEEVER when he rolled her egg. NEVER ANYONE ELSE EVER AGAIN!! They will be the best of friends, and play and make trouble. Oh yes, so much trouble! Dokkaeth is so excited to be Apate's partner in crime, and his best playmate. Ever. They are both inclined to causing trouble, and oh the trouble they'll bring down around their own ears. But as with every match, they have something to offer one another that goes beyond that. Apate has the ability to teach Dokkaeth to take her losses gracefully, and tuck them away so that no one knows how much it gets to her when she cannot win. In return, she will offer him a well into which he can pour all of his secrets, where they will never be spilled, but from which they can both build.

Green Suwayeth
Written by Masterharper & Fated Fable
Colored by ShinosBee

User Image

Origin of Name: In Kuranko language, the term for witchcraft is suwa'ye, which refers to "extraordinary powers".

Inspiration: The term witch can be traced back to Old English wicca, masculine, or wicce, feminine, or alternatively to the verb wiccian, meaning to bewitch. However, journeying farther backwards into its etymological roots leaves one with many questions, as there is no clear cut answer. It is evident that the word was derived from an Indo-European root words however there are numerous possibilities regarding what form that might have taken. A clear underpinning between all known candidates is the tie to the sacred and the powerful.

A witch, then, is a practitioner of that awesome power, whether conscious or otherwise. One view of the witch was clarified by E.E. Evans-Pritchard, who explained that during his studies in Africa he found that witches were not always believed to be aware of their abilities or status as a witch. However, it is to be noted that this differs from the European notion of a witch. Undoubtedly that is heavily influenced by the Judeo-Christian view of the witch as being an evil entity. However, in spite of the hysteria surrounding witches during certain chapters of European history, it is known fact that pagan beliefs and witches themselves by far predate the belief system that led to the alleged demise of many such individuals.

It is from the European folklore that we have drawn the inspiration for the Witch, particularly leaning on the archetype of the hag. This character is prevalent in numerous fairy tales, such as Hansel and Gretel, and it is clear that the motivation behind their inclusion is as a precautionary tale meant to warn children away from certain behaviors. The figure of the witch in these tales is so outlandish and fanciful that it bears little resemblance to the medicine men and women of historic times. It is also the blueprint for many of the villains that we know and love from modern day depictions of those tales.

Personality: Most people are at least moderately concerned about what the world thinks of them. Those people, however, are not Suwayeth. This Green is an individual, and refuses to be bound by the ideals of a society that just does not get her. However, she is terribly good at getting what she needs out of it. She has a very deft way of drawing what she desires out of a situation or person, carefully pulling strings until the right one gives. While she is fully capable of directly influencing a situation, she is more inclined to sit back and let matters unfold as they will, inserting this comment here, and letting slip with that little tidbit there, until everything is as it should be. At least to this little Green's view.

When she is away from the social world that seems to put an extra strain upon her, Suwayeth blossoms with abundant interest in the natural beauty of Pern. Ever curious about what this herb or that flower does, she'll be quick to ask her rider or find someone who does know if Hers does not. She has a good memory for details like that, and would be a decent healer if she were not a dragon. Her love of the calm and the quiet is equally matched by her absolute detestation for crowds. She's not a big fan of being part of a Wing, although she is well aware that she won't be able to escape that necessity. It's not that she's bad at working in groups so much as that she suffers from a degree of social anxiety.

While she is capable of warmth, she tends to hold others at arm's length, rather less interested than they might be in establishing close bonds. Perhaps this is because she has an extra strong bond to her rider, or perhaps it is because she finds it difficult to relate to others. She understands them well enough to sway them if she must, but she doesn't know what to think about them. It seems as though she's trying to cross a bridge to reach them, and it's honestly a major undertaking.

Deep down, deep, deep down, it may just be that Suwayeth is nervous about being in public. As clever as she is, she just doesn't like to be in the spotlight, and it's very difficult to completely avoid such a thing when one is as brightly colored as she. Also, she is more than capable of completing the tasks required of her as a wingrider, but she wants so much more. Not in terms of ambition, for she is not interested in becoming the leader of anything, but in terms of knowledge. She wants to know the world inside and out. That would surely help to ease her weaknesses, and she cannot be weak. It's so hard to let others in, and harder still to let them see her faults. In order to keep others at a distance, she makes sure that they know how unwelcome they are with cutting glares and a wickedly sharp tongue.

Positive Traits: Wise, Creative, Independent
Negative Traits: Aloof, Scornful, Manipulative

Adult Size: 22
Physical Attributes: This dark caped bright Green skulks through life, keeping low to the ground or hiding behind clouds. She is long of body and limb for her size, which is on the smaller side of average.
Additional Notes: Suwayeth doesn't have many special friends, except Branchath, but she does have special enemies. Vedmath is out to get her, and he can keep his big nose out of her business! Adores flowers, and just generally loves plant life of any kind. Might actually be seen frolicking from time to time. One thing to be noted is that she is a VENGEFUL goddess, and will not be tamed by any man.

Theme Song: Witch's Rune S. J. Tucker by Fallout Boy

Why Me? In the depths of her heart, Suwayeth is a creature of nature, and Kieza calls to that. From her early childhood experience, Kieza will be able to share with Suwayeth. The Green has done things that she regrets, and she needs Kieza's aid in learning how to avoid mistakes a second time. They are both terribly observant, and both in tune with the world around them. As girl and dragon, they have the potential to grow out of their shells, leaning on one another in ways only a woman can truly understand. Suwayeth would never have accepted a male rider, but she got something so much better in the bargain: a friend. And she loves Kieza with all of her heart.

Green Kiemeth
Written by Masterharper
Colored by Masterharper

User Image

Origin of Name: Kiemeth's name comes from the translation of "gill" in Germen: kieme. The Creature from the Black Lagoon was actually named Gill-Man, and such a silly name doesn't fit well for a particularly lovely green!

Inspiration: Kiemeth is based on the movie monster The Creature of the Black Lagoon, also perhaps less known, as Gill-Man. The Creature is fully amphibious, capable of breathing both in and out of the water. It also possesses superhuman strength; large, webbed hands with sharp claws; tough, scaly skin; and superhuman healing. This allows it to survive wounds which would be fatal to humans. Should the creature's gills be permanently damaged, it also possess a dormant set of lungs.

Some of it's vulnerabilities happen to be rotenone, and is known to be slightly photophobic. Due to its murky water habitat, it isn't keen on being caught in the light.

Personality: Kiemeth is a sassy, feisty green, and the world is going to know it from day one! She isn't the sort of green who is afraid to speak up when she has something to say, and if the Weyr is smart enough, they'll know to listen. This little green has an opinion on anything and everything -- from the color of that person's hair, to the ugly striping pattern on that dragon, and the big fat brown firelizard she hates! Her rider will be the first to get an earful, and if her rider is busy, then her weyrlings, and the rest of the dragons in Western.

And don't you dare tell her what she can or can't do! Kiemeth is going to do whatever she wants, when she wants, and you just try to stop her! Those who do will find the green's ugly side. Like some of her clutch sibs, this one has a temper! She will not hesitate to snarl, snap, and growl, especially when she feel that she or her rider are somehow being wronged or controlled. No one tells her what to do, no one, ya hear? Those who push her might just get her claws!

Temper aside, she's always been a curious creature, and is the sort who will constantly be putting her nose into everything. From tasting this, or clawing at that, this little green watches the world with wonder and a bit of fascination. There's always something new to learn, and she's only too happy to find out all about it!

To her rider, she'll be a constant source of affection. If she's out exploring the world she'll want her rider there. If she can't be tangibly close to her rider, she'll cling to their lifebond, and find company in one of her prettier friends. To those bond with Kiemeth, they'll find her constantly snuggling, cuddling, or touching -- personal space isn't something this green understands -- and those who are granted such physicality should be honored!

Unfortunately, getting into her circle of friends isn't always easy. Kiemeth is a bit shallow. Rather, she has discerning tastes on beauty. To her, her rider is the most beautiful, most precious human on Pern. No one will ever take her place. The rest of Pern can only hope Kiemeth might view them in a similar light, but good luck. If she thinks you're ugly, she will spurn you; if she thinks you're somehow less than pleasing to the eye, she will tell you, and shoo you away. Kiemeth loves beautiful things, and will do her best to surround herself and her rider with only the prettiest and most handsome things.

Oh, and those who are wise will never, ever, criticize her riders appearance. That's a good way to lose a limb.

Positive Traits: Curious, Feisty, Affectionate
Negative Traits: Enamored by Beauty, Temperamental, Opinionated

Adult Size: 26'
Physical Attributes: Kiemeth is on the larger side for a green, though not necessarily the largest. She is average in weight, and her tail is just a bit too long for a green -- it doesn't hurt her, but when she walks, especially as a hatchling, she will have a tendency to trip upon it. In water or in flight it will simply add to her elegance.

Additional Notes: Kiemeth is a water baby through and through. If she's not on the beach, then she's planning to go to the beach. If you try to stop her from getting to play in the water, you will find yourself at her mercy. Her rider will need to make sure her skin doesn't dry out due to her love of water.

She admires Seirath for her beauty, and is happy to fawn over her. She also has as no preference on who chases her during her flights -- males or females -- just so long as she finds them beautiful. Uggos need not apply, hmph!

Theme Song: Beautiful by Christina Aguilera

Why Me? Kiemeth knew that Lissa was her one and only right from the egg! The world is their oyster, and Kiemeth is going to ensure that her rider and she get their share. Together, they can do anything, and this green has no desire to let Lissa far out of her sight! If Lissa wants to stay detached from others, you can bet this green has no problem encouraging or enabling such feelings. Why should her rider want others company -- even that of Dolphins -- when she now has the most perfect green of them all? Kiemeth was drawn by he girls hidden independence, and plans on encouraging her so they can live life the way they choose.

Kiemeth will overwhelm Lissa with her love and support. She will strive to keep her low self-worth at bay, and will look upon the girl as the most beautiful creature on Pern. No one holds a candle to her, and should her rider ever doubt, Kiemeth will be there to convince her otherwise. Lissa will be able to tell her all about the ocean, the beach, and its waters, and Kiemeth will happily ask questions. This little green's world revolves solely around Lissa, and she will do her best to make each day a grand adventure for them both.

Green Therianth
Written by Masterharper
Colored by Andranis

User Image

Origin of Name: Therianth gets her name from the term, therianthrope. This is the term used to describe someone who turns into some sort of creature. Perhaps the most well known type of therianthrope was the lycanthrope, or werewolf.

Inspiration: Therianth is based off the iconic Werewolf. These are people who can transform into a wolf under the light of a full moon. This is usually done through the bite of a werewolf, being concieved under a full moon, or in other cases, drinking water that has been touched by a wolf. In some cultures, it is believed that werewolves could dress in a special, protective wolf skin, though they had to remove it at daybreak and hide it. If their magical pelt was found and taken from the werewolf-in-human-form, he or she could be killed. Traditionally, they only transform under the light of a full moon, but more modern werewolves are able to shift in and out at will.

Werewolves typically can't be distinguished from that of a wolf once fully transformed, save for the fact it retains human eyes, a human voice, it has no tail, and is larger in appearance. Werewolves often become wild, predatorial, and savage when they turn, no matter how they might act when in human form.

There is traditionally no cure for lycanthropy, but werewolves are able to be stopped by silver bullets.

Personality: Let's play, let's play, let's play!! Therianth's prime motive in this world is often driven by play. That's right, this particular green can often be seen turning every challenge or chore into a game. If there's tension in in the air, Therianth will only too happily try to diffuse it with a game of chase, or hide-and-seek; if her rider is sad, she will try to get them to play with her, so she can distract them from their mood. Even when alone, Therianth is only too happy to play by herself -- look at this stick she's attacking and throwing in the air! It's fun! Her tail is often egging her into a new game of chase, and she will probably grow to have little teeth marks and scars from where her games of chase-the-tail got a little too exuberant. Games and fun run through Therianth's blood, and is what the world sees the most.

Her rider and clutchsibs will find a terribly devoted dragon. Therianth is a family and group-minded individual. While she can be alone, she much prefers to be in a group setting, or at least have someone else with her. She follows her rider's orders and commands without hesitation, but is also quite aware of the Weyr's chain-of-commands. While she accepts Western's way of life, she does seem to fall back into traditional color roles; she knows her place as a fighter dragon, and that metallics are to be obeyed. Heirarchy is important to Therianth, and she herself does not do well when forced to command or lead. She is not an alpha-dragon, and prefers to be part of the pack, and is comfortable in her place.

Ever affectionate, Therianth, on her good days, will have no hesitation showering her rider, or her friends, with love. She is a very physical dragon, and isn't shy about showing her fondness for those she cares about. Snuggles are usually always welcome, as are nuzzles, and group cuddles. Ninety-percent of the time, this little green will have no problem being the sweetest, most darling little lady out there.

But beware.

Behind her adorable, adoring nature, Therianth is known to have the odd mood, and when she does, watch out! Every now and then, this little green seems to get a bit moody. One moment she's cuddling, the next moment she's snarling and irritable. One wrong turn of phrase can leave her defensive, sharp, and ready to fight. And when Therianth fights, she fights dirty and wild. She isn't afraid to bare her fangs, to bite, or to claw her way out of a corner. While she doesn't often assert her dominance, she will have no trouble putting an enemy in their place -- especially if said enemy has upset her rider!

The best way to describe Therianth when angry or riled is savage. Catch her on a bad day and she won't hesitate to rip you into pieces -- possibly literally! Gone is her love an affection; gone is her desire to appease. When she's in her moods, or if she is angry, she will not hesitate to do whatever has to be done to get her way or fix a situation, and Faranth help anyone who gets in her way. It isn't easy to appease her during her tantrums, and usually she needs to be left alone until her mood passes. These moods will likely get worse once she starts to rise -- while some greens are known to get moody before they fly, Therianth will turn into a monster. Boys beware, because you will likely not leave her flights without bearing battle scars -- but should you win her -- she will be nothing but adorable and sweet come morning.

The only one safe from Therianth during these times is her rider, who will need to be firm to keep her green in line. Her rider can sometimes pull Therianth out of her moods, or mitigate any damage done, but depending on how upset the green is, it might take a mighty dose of willpower.

Positive Traits: Devoted, Affectionate, Playful
Negative Traits: Savage, Heirarchy-Minded, Moody

Adult Size: 27'
Physical Attributes: Therianth is a big green, though she might not look it from a distance. She is a lean creature who tends to have more muscle on her bony frame than fat -- and no amount of eating is going to change that. She's a little taller than some greens, with nice long legs that help her agility when on the ground. She was born a sure-footed creature, and will remain one even as an adult. Up in the air, Therianth might not be as fast as some of the greens, but makes up for it with very high stamina. As an adult, she will excel at long Threadfalls. Where other greens might tire before her, her Wingleaders will know that Therianth can probably last a little longer if necessary, and she'll always be willing to and ready to return to battle as needed.

Additional Notes: Therianth is definitely close to Konvakith. She tends to bother him, especially when he's alone, but should he snark at her she'll respect his wishes and leave him be. She follows orders of any of her more dominant siblings, but is one of the few to talk down to Strigonth and Tinanath. Blues shouldn't be trying to order anyone around -- leave that to the metallics, thankyouvermuch!

Theme Song: Caramelldansen Speedycake Remix - Caramell

Why Me? Shehara! Let's play! Let's play everyday, okay?? Yes, Therianth was immediately drawn to the girl's bouncy and bubbly nature. She can appreciate her rider's upbeat and out going nature, and most days will encourage and mimic such a thing. She'll happily joke with her rider, and though she isn't very good at climbing, will appreciate the others active lifestyle. Together, these two can be an overwhelming handful, but Therianth wouldn't have it any other way. The Courtesan is the only one of the lot who could keep up with her happy and upbeat energy!

Therianth will keep all of Shehara's secrets, and will forever be the other's partner in crime.

Thankfully, Shehara is clever and strong-willed enough to (hopefully) be able to handle Therianth's mood swings. When the green get into one of her more aggressive tempers, her rider will need to either keep others from bothering her, or try to mitigate the green's fierce irritability. Anyone who dares to cross her rider and leave her upset or shaken will face Therianth's wrath! Thankfully, Shehara isn't the sort to lose her cool or her temper -- and that alone means Therianth will be more easy-going.

Ultimately, these two will have a solid and fun pair-bond. They are each others playmates as well as soul mates, and together, will keep their clutchmates, and the Weyr, in good spirits.

Green Taivshath
Written by The_Muffin_Puppy
Colored by demon_pachabel

User Image

Origin of Name: Taivshath comes from the Scottish gaelic word taibhse, meaning apparition, spirit, or ghost. Wraith was originally a scottish word for a ghost.

Inspiration: The Wraith : A ghostly apparition appearing shortly before or after someone's death. Wraith is a Scottish dialect word, but the actual use can be used for most ghosts or spirits. Modern portrayals have the wraith as a malevolent spirit that sometimes was not even originally human. More classically however they were most often benign, attached to a place, person or event. Usually the story behind them was tragic, relating to a murder or a lost love. Occasionally these spirits would even appear to warn others of oncoming danger.

Personality: It is easy not to notice Taivshath. The green isn't especially shy, but she doesn't take interest in others very often and will rarely seek out conversation. Should someone try to strike up a dialect, she will acknowledge them, but they will rapidly find her focus drifting away. Taivshath prefers to communicate through brief sensations, being a dragon of very few words. The words she uses sounding soft and far away, conjuring the image of speaking to someone across mist draped hills. Usually she will reach out and provide her feelings on the matter through a mental caress. It would be easy to misinterpret these signs if someone did not know her, for the dragon's touch is often cold. However Taivshath displays an impressive versatility to the sensation. A soft cooling touch like a soothing balm for her approval, the icy graze of cold fingers on the neck for her displeasure. Learning to read and communicate with Taivshath is an art all its own. An art taking patience to master. Taivshath cannot be held close, the dragon's mind wanders and drifts, always in motion. Where her mind goes is a mystery, for Taivshath could not tell you, there is nothing that a companion can do except wait for the green to float back to them.

It is rare for something to trouble Taivshath. The future never poses a concern to her and worry is a seemingly foreign concept to the green. Things will happen as they happen, all they can do is go with it, like leaves on the wind. This might tie to the fact that Taivshath seems to have a poor grasp of time. More so than simply not feeling time passing, Taivshath will often have no idea of when she is. It doesn't bother the green and, without others to keep her aware, the dragon would contently drift without concern. It does not matter to Taivshath when she is. She is whenever she is. This can lead to peculiar recollections of her recalling things in the wrong order, or not realising that something happened more or less recently than she remembers.

Her memory of specifics can be rather poor. Taivshath doesn't retain a great deal when it comes to details and sifting through her memory can be like moving through a mist. Places are distorted, people are blurry. This doesn't seem to bother Taivshath much. She knows what she needs to get by, if it were that important then she would have remembered it. The only time that Taivshath will recall things clearly is if they are bad. Fear or distress will be frozen in a perfect picture for her. Fortunately these memories drift in and out of her mind, usually tied to a person or location. When Taivshath comes across these people or places it will be as though she is there all over again. In these moments her calm and dreamlike state can be shattered. The soft breath of her voice raising into a mournful wail as she becomes trapped in a cyclone of her own despair. The only way to bring her back to remove the source of her distress, upon which Taivshath will calm, quickly becoming her usual, peaceful, self once more.

Positive Traits: Serene, Amenable, Discreet
Negative Traits: Absent minded, Poor time awareness, Distant

Adult Size: 23'
Physical Attributes: A long and slender dragon, Taivshath borders on skinny. The pale green is a collection of thin and curved lines. Beginning at her delicate and slim face and ending at her gently curving tail. Her eyes seem overly large for her face, often unfocused and looking off into the distance, dreamily swirling a myriad of colours. For a dragon so thin and long, Taivshath's wings seem to swamp her in a pale shroud. Her wings much larger than average for a green her size, with long, trailing, wing edges. Taivshath could be considered beautiful in her fragility, like a glass model, easily broken by rough hands. There are times when the green will look like a strong wind would blow her away. To reach for her would cause her to disappear into a mist.

Taivshath will never look more beautiful that when she is in motion. Her movements are silent as she flows to some unheard rhythm. In the air Taivshath prefers to glide, allowing her large wings to make full use of the wind; moving with the air currents and drifting through the air, falling, rising and turning as the wind bids her. Her stamina benefits from her careful conservation of energy, but her dislike for powering ahead means that Taivshath will never be the fastest of greens, although she can be dexterous when the air allows it. Her flames will always be thin, bright, streaks in the sky. Able to target an errant thread with ease as she lets the wind carry her away.

Additional Notes: As absent in flights as she is at any other time. Taivshath seems to enjoy most rising at night, quietly slipping into the sky and drawing any late night wanderers with her. Her flights aren't loud or flashy, they're a gentle song played on the night air. There are times where she may even forget that she is being pursued at all, too lost among the night's embrace to notice her suitors. Those that wish to follow her into the night would do better to coax this wandering soul to them, for they will quickly find her vanishing if they reach for her to soon.

She is close to Fantoth and Micheth, both whom can easier draw her back to fun.

Theme Song: The Dark Night of the Soul, Loreena Mckennitt

Why Me? Though Taivshath might be distant to, well, just about everyone, Tacelon will be her focus point. He will be able to coax the green back from her daydreams and absent-mindedness, and with encouragement, and a bit of persistence, he will be able to get the green to focus on the task's ahead of them that the dragon would otherwise disregard or ignore. His hard-working attitude is just what this green needs to keep her on top of their duties.

Taivshath understands Tacelon and finds in him a kindred spirit. The green will share her dreams and fantasies openly, and she will encourage the young rider to get lost in such games. She will endlessly enjoy Tacelon's company, as well as Echoe's, and likes nothing better than to curl up with them both, far away from others, and get lost among quiet daydreams. While she might be quiet and reserved, she will will happily enable Tacelon and try to lift him up from his self-doubt. Make no mistake, this dragon will be there for him, and only him. No daydream or distraction would ever keep Taivshath from Hers. Like rider, like dragon, these two will be a quiet pair. When necessary Taivshath will be his voice to the world. She will never judge him for his strained voice, an will dream for him, should he ever find the future bleak.

It will be up to Tacelon to keep his green grounded during lessons and drills, else risk injury, or worse. Thankfully, Taivshath is easily molded by her rider, and aims to please him, and only him. This green has little care about others -- but her rider is her everything. Without Tacelon, Taivshath would be quite lost indeed.

Green Nzambith
Written by Masterharper
Colored by ShinosBee

User Image

Origin of Name: Nzambith gets her name from the etymology of the term, zombie. It all began back in 1819, when the poet Robert Southey, who wrote a history of Brazil, first used the term zombie in reference to a Afro-Brazilian rebel leader named Zumbi. The etymology of Zumbi's name, happens to be from the West African Kongo word "nzambi", which means "god".

Inspiration: Nzambith is based on the Zombie. There are many different legends, and mythologies, that involve zombies or other undead. Zombies originated in stories of Haitian and West African voodoo, where the spirits of the dead were brought back by some sort of sorcerer. Zombies are often portrayed as undead servants to said summoner, but in recent fiction, have also been portrayed as simply becoming infected by a virus or disease.

In some cases zombies are thought to be half-dead, mindless laborers and slaves, forced to do the bidding of their master. Other stories portray them as reanimated corpses that desire brains and flesh, which is a theme that has become quite popular in Western culture. Only recently have zombies been portrayed as quick, agile, and clever; or even having an ability to speak.

Zombies can have the ability to infect humans with a bite to transform them into a zombie. They are also thought to be stronger than mortal humans, and have an ability to survive even when their body rots, decays, or gets blown to pieces.

They aren't vulnerable to much, though head-shots seem to be the best way to kill them for good. In some mythologies, feeding them salt will have them return to their grave to sleep.

Personality: Nzambith is a green who does things her way. Perhaps the first thing individuals notice about her is how easily she falls into the ranks. She isn't the sort of green who is looking to rise up, nor is she going to crow and caw at every going on in the Weyr; she is neither a gossip, nor a flirt, and for the most part just goes with the flow of everything around her.

Those who pay attention will find that this green is quietly dedicated to any task given her. If her leaders were to ask her to fly until she dropped, she would do so without complaint; if she were told to dig a hole until she struck buried gold, than she would do so without hesitation. It isn't that Nzambith doesn't think for herself -- she simply enjoys pleasing those by finishing tasks completely. There is no task too big for Nzambith, nor too impossible for her to achieve. It will be up to her rider to ensure that this hard-working green isn't taken advantage of by others, or tricked into impossible tasks. Thankfully, she will stop her task if given a new order, or her rider convinces her to let it go and to "try again later". Unfortunately for her rider, Nzambith is persistent; so she might very well try again, and again, and again, until she forgets about it, or manages to succeed!

Nzambith is loyal to her rider above all, but she is loyal to Weyr and Wing as well. She isn't the sort of green to turn on friends, or betray those who she gives her quiet heart to -- whether they know this or not. This green might be quiet, and seemingly slow, but she loves deeply.

Perhaps the dragon's biggest negative qualities have to be her insatiability. While this usually comes in the form of food, similar to her sister Gallath, this also can take shape in any passion she finds; she just isn't easily satisfied. No matter how she is spoiled, or how many treats given, or how much bathing and oiling and playing she gets, Nzambith can't help but want more. This can turn into dissatisfaction if she's not careful; her rider will need to set limits for the green to ensure she doesn't turn gluttenous. Distracting her from her current interest or desire seems to be the best way.

Furthermore, Nzambith can be a bit ponderous. She is not a bright and cheerful green; no, she tends to be a touch dreary, is rarely excitable, and might even be borderline depressive. She tends to be slow to speak, and when she does, it is often monotone, and with little inflection. This can cause her more excitable kin to find her tedious, but it doesn't get Nzambith down. She is happy to follow her friends quietly around and let them do the talking for her. At the end of the day, this green is just happy to be noticed at all.

Positive Traits: Workhorse, Loyal, Persistent
Negative Traits: Insatiable, Follower, Ponderous

Adult Size: 25'
Physical Attributes: Nzambith is on the larger side of average for a green. Otherwise, she seems relatively perfect in proportion. Unlike Gallath, Nzambith doesn't seem to carry much extra weight; she might even be considered a bit underweight, but not unhealthily so. She is strong, with long fangs, and shorter head knobs.

Additional Notes: Nzambith does particularly favor eating the heads off her prey; while she'll eat the whole thing, the brains are her favorite part. When she flies, she will likely only do so once or twice a Turn, but it would take a special someone to keep her satisfied. More often than not, she finds the whole ordeal exhausting, and is usually (unsurprisingly enough) dissatisfied with the results.

She appreciates Gallath's taste in food, Fantoth and Hessianth's humor, and thinks Tinanath is simply fun to humor. Honestly, she can get along with any of her siblings on the best and worst of days if they can tolerate her.

Theme Song: Re: Your Brains - Jonathan Coulton

Why Me? Vennodren is a touch of warmth on a winter's day. Where Nzambith is glum, and dreary, Venn is positive and happy. They say opposites attract, and in this instance, it's true! This little green needed someone warm in her heart, and the cheery outlook of the man suits her just fine. While she might be down and depressive company to some of her clutchsibs, she is always in higher spirits after spending time with her rider.

His natural ambition and call of duty will match Nzambith's desire to work. Venn will be able to better focus the green on tasks that need to get accomplished, instead of her focusing all of her energy on the first thing someone asks of her. Together, the two will prove to be a hard working asset to any Wing in Western.

Venn will bring light to the little green's day, and help give her a greater purpose, while Nzambith will be the key to the weyrbred's man's dreams to be a rider. While they will both need to keep an eye out for one another so neither is taken advantage of, future Wingleader's would be a fool to dismiss them as simply another fighting pair. If Venn wants to reach for the stars and rise up in rank, you can bet Nzambith will pour her heart and soul into getting him there.

Green Gallath
Written by Masterharper
Colored by -_Wish of Tevarae_-

User Image

Origin of Name: Gallath gets her name from the word, galla. This is the name of a class of underworld demons from Sumerian and Akkadian mythology. The modern day word ghoul comes from the Arabian word ghul, which come from the word "ghala", which means "to seize". Ghala is etymologically related to the word galla.

Inspiration: Gallath is based on the Ghoul. In ancient Arabian folklore, the ghoul is a type of jinn believed to be sired by Iblis. It is known to be a shape-shifting, desert-dwelling predator that lured unwary people to it, only to slay and devour them.

In some cases ghouls can take the form of their last meal; in others mythologies, they can turn into a hyena. On top of devouring their victims, they're known to steal coins, eat the dead, prey upon children, and drink blood. In other stories, ghouls can live in society, provided they are able to eat copious amounts of human flesh. Some are known to live a "normal" lifestyle, provided they aren't caught, and are even known to have families of their own.

The longer a ghoul goes without food, the more monstrous they start to look and act. As they starve, they become more monstrous, until they lose all semblance of humanity.

Personality: This little green is a handful... but a sweet handful, all the same. The first thing that the world tends to see is how very hungry she happens to be! Oh yes, little Gallath seems to have an insatiable desire to eat, and her rider is going to have to make sure she doesn't gorge herself. She will do just about anything for food, and chances are, as a weyrling, will not hesitate to even try to eat things she shouldn't. While fresh meat is her favorite, she might try to eat that leather belt; or that sock; or maybe that boot. If her rider doesn't set firm boundaries, Gallath will be prone to tummy aches, indegestion, and thicktail. She will do about anything for food, including out right begging for it from strangers.

Gallath is also known to be quite territorial-- especially over her food. Once something is considered hers she will defend it from others. This includes her rider, food, friends, food, mates, food, food, and oh yeah, food. She can get quite nasty when she thinks her things are being taken from her. She will hiss, and posture, and bare her fangs; she will try to drive others off if she sees them as a threat, and don't you dare push her! This doesn't always work out well when those around her aren't actually a threat... but diverting her attention with treats is always a good way to get on her good side. Her rider will need to ensure they don't enable Gallath's possession.

At her best, though, this little green is a very clever and adaptable green. She is smart, and will often think of ways to get what she wants. If something is standing in her way from her goals, she will find some way to get around it. Gallath will always find some new way to do things, especially if it makes her life easier. If she or her rider is struggling with some task, leave it to Gallath to find a way to cut corners effectively, or save on time. Her wingmates will appreciate her insight, though her Wingleaders might not care to be undermined. Gallath could be a brilliant little green...but her rider will find that sometimes she keeps her cleverness to herself.

Why?

Because at her heart of hearts, Gallath wants nothing more than to fit in. She doesn't want to be outstanding -- she wants to be just another green. She wants friends, not enemies; she wants a mate, not to be looked at as crazy possessive or aggressive; she wants to be a wingrider, not some up-and-coming-someone. It isn't popularity Gallath seeks, but a desire to fit in. She wants lots of friends, and wants to keep them, which is why she turns territorial; she wants love, and doesn't want to lose it, so she tends to go too far to try to keep it. It is a hard lot for this green, who knows she doesn't make friends easy. So, she tends to conform with popular opinion, regardless of her personal feelings. See, isn't she an amicable green? Please be her friend... please.

Those who do give her a chance will find her a very maternal little green. While she might be aggressive when she feels her territory and things are being infringed upon, she does have a good heart. She will mother her rider, she will care for little flits, and she will want desperately to guard any clutch on the sands and the hatchlings and weyrlings that come from them. If she also might want to share in the meat that they are given, well, honestly, you can't blame her for that, either.

Positive Traits: Clever, Maternal, Adaptable
Negative Traits: Territorial, Gluttonous, Conformist

Adult Size: 24'
Physical Attributes: Gallath is a plump green, and will likely always be a bit on the heavier side. Should the Weyr put her on a diet, they will face a beast. It's easier to keep her at a stable weight than get her to lose it -- for everyone involved. That said, her extra padding doesn't hurt her -- in fact, she's just as capable as her more delicate sisters, and tends to be as strong as some of the smaller blues. She can take a hit, and certainly knows how to give one in return.

Additional Notes: Gallath is close to Nzambith and might consider sharing with her and her alone. She enjoys flights, but can get mighty protective of the winners -- and does not like it when other greens woo her mates away.

Theme Song: Fat Bottomed Girls - Queen

Why Me? Oh Yevalee -- Gallath couldn't help but be charmed, and wants nothing more than to be your very best friend. Yevalee's outgoing and vibrant nature immediately drew the green's attention -- especially because that's all she desperately wants out of life. She wants to be included, she wants friends, she wants to fit in! These are all things Yevalee seems to know all about, and Gallath is certain that they will help get the green exactly what she wants!

This green also appreciates Yevalee's lack of ambition. She doesn't want to stand out and be laden with responsibility. No, this green simply wants to be a simple wingrider -- nothing more, nothing less, and is certain that Theirs won't force her into a higher ranked role. A stress free life sounds like a beautiful future for the two of them.

With luck, Yevalee will be able to temper Gallath's territorial nature with their composure and natural charm. They will never need to fill alone or excluded, for they will forever be the center of Gallath's world. For her part, Gallath will be happy to user her cleverness to help Yevalee manipulate the world to their favor -- she sees no problem in being spectacular for her rider's gain.

White Brancath
Written by Masterharper
Colored by demon_pachabel

User Image

Origin of Name: Brancath's name comes from the Brazilian interpretation of "White Lady", or Dama Branca. These ghosts are all women who are dressed in a white sleeping gown or dress, and while some are mute, others recount their misfortune. Usually they were murdered by their husbands or father's in an "honor" killing. The most frequent reasons for such killings were adultery, abuse, or denial of intimate relations.

Inspiration: This white is based, appropriately so, on the White Lady. These are a type of female ghosts that appear dressed in all white. While they can show up anywhere in the world, they are most prominently found in the United States, Great Britain, and Ireland.

Like many ghosts, the White Lady tends to be solitary, and tends to haunt a particular area, object, or residence. A common theme found among White Lady's is the loss of a child, betrayal of a lover, and they tend to have died tragically or suffered trauma in life.

Similar to the Banshee, White Lady's are thought to be harbingers of death.

Personality: Brancath wants you to know, ladies, that she loves you, and she isn't afraid to admit as much. For being such a small dragon, Brancath has one of the largest hearts in the clutch. She may be small in stature, but she will be protective of her clutchmates from the get go. They are her family, and she will want to ensure that no one brings them down. This same protectiveness goes to her rider, as well as any other female dragons or weyrfolk -- big or small. Come, little ones, lay your weary load down at Brancath's feet, and let her comfort you. Those who are ill, tired, scared, sad, or alone will always find a comforting wing. She will not turn any of her sisters and female kin from her, and will be ever vigilant as she guards them.

Those who get to know Brancath will find a protective friend and companion. Those she dubs hers will be checked in upon regularly, to ensure that they are being cared for. She will whisk away those who are in need, and is always happy to adopt a new charge. She is not afraid of bullies or those larger than she, and Brancath's protectiveness can turn hostile and violent if she believes something must be escalated. Those who harm her rider, or her friends and loves, will find Brancath's teeth or claws, and if nothing else, be torn to pieces through cleverly crafted words.

This white isn't afraid of anything...but she does rather loathe males.

No one can say why, but Brancath was born with a natural prejudice, mistrust, and overall distaste for males. This extends mostly with dragons, but you can bet she might give the side eye to any male friends Isilje meets. While she can be cordial to them, work with them, and otherwise be in their same vicinity, she will not seek them out willingly unless she must. She simply does not trust them -- just look at the Weyr. Even in Western, how many Wingleaders are men? In High Reaches, the only women (outside of gold riders) that may rise up in rank are those who fly male dragons! Her rider will need to try to get her white to better cooperate with males, though it is doubtful Brancath will ever truly trust them.

An emotional creature at her heart, this white will lean on her rider when times are tough. She tries to be strong on the outside, to take on her clutchmates problems, to ensure her rider is always happy; but sometimes, it does get too much. When life is hard, she might fall into a depression; when she is criticized, she might turn to rage; when she is overwhelmed, the Weyr might hear about it; and should she (or her rider) be wronged, she will hold it against them until she has been able to take them down and make them suffer. Her rider may want to try to discourage this behavior, but Brancath does rather enjoy the dish known as revenge. She'll serve it up hot or cold, and be pleased at all the misfortune that might befall her enemies. She isn't so pure as to not make deals with others to ensure she and her rider get a bit of schadenfreude. Either way, if you go on Brancath's bad list, good luck getting off of it -- she will wait as long as she must until the time is right to cut you down to size.

Positive Traits: Comforting, Loving, Protective
Negative Traits: Emotional, Vengeful, Misandrist

Adult Size: 17'
Physical Attributes: Brancath is a very willowy white. She has petite bones, a long frame, and seems to be made up more of neck and tail than anything else. She is delicate, but don't be fooled -- she is not sickly, nor is she some damsel-in-distress. She is strong, and quick, and can carry more than you think!

Additional Notes: Brancath may not have any interest in rising or chasing, but she does enjoy cuddling up with the ladies. She will have no problems settling with a "mate" or two, but only in the non-chasing variety. And it will never be a man -- that hatred (and perhaps fear) of them runs deep. She sees them for the monsters they truly are.

She is very close to Suwayeth, and will always have a soft spot for Seirath and Kiemeth.

Theme Song: Come Little Children from Hocus Pocus

Why Me? Isilje need not be anxious with Brancath at her side. This white dragon can't help but wish to mother they young girl, and will do so at every opportunity. Has she eaten? Is she comfortable? Where Islije goes, Brancath will likely not be far behind. The only thing that might take her from her riders side would other dragons in fear or in need -- or some bully who needs to be taken down and out!

At the end of the day, these two will be great playmates and friends. When Brancath's emotions get the better of her, Isilje's cheer and good nature will draw the white out of her moods. Brancath will protect Isilje, and be the constant, stream of support she needs. She will fuss over Isilje, and fight for her when the going gets tough. While Isilje might back down, Brancath will have no problem jumping right into the fray on her behalf - she won't tolerate any sort of bullying, thank you! Should her rider get frightened or spooked, this white will be right there, ready to fuss over her every hurt, and make the world right once more.

At the end of the day, these two will be able to support each other when their darker halves reign, and shall energize one another when they're feeling their best.

White Akeroth
Written by Fated Fable
Colored by ShinosBee

User Image

Origin of Name: Akeroth, from the Mycenaen a-ke-ro, simply means "messenger." The word "angel" is derived from the Latin angelus which in its turn came from the Greek aggelos. Some sources believe that it is a Persian loan word, from angaros, which means "mounted courier." While the Torah does not differentiate between human messengers and spiritual ones, the Latin Vulgate does. The Vulgate is a 4th century translation of the bible, the Latin bible that the Catholic Church disseminated and held up as holy canon. In this version of the bible, the word used for human messenger is legatus or nuntius. Where a spiritual messenger is indicated, the word becomes angelus. And so, angel.

Inspiration: The concept of angels far predates the Christian bible, a mythos that has only recently developed within the past couple thousand years. The earliest known instance of angels can be found in one the world's most ancient organized religions that is still practiced today, Zoroastrianism. One might argue that the concept is much older, as nearly all mythologies contain agents of the divine. The purpose of angels is quite different, depending upon which faith they originate from.

For example, according to the Kabbalah, angels are simply an extension of God's will, temporary creations meant to enact whatever task that he wishes to be completed. Once that duty has been accomplished, they will cease to exist, as they are not separate entities.

The actual hierarchy of angels differs from faith to faith, but there are some consistencies between them, messengers being among the most common elements. We can see several examples of messenger angels within the bible itself, such as Gabriel, and the angel who speaks to the women as they stand grieving before Jesus's tomb. Azrael, the angel of death, appears in the Jewish, Islamic, and Christian faiths.

Personality: While he is small of stature, the sheer power that radiates off of Akeroth cannot be missed. Were he a Bronze or a Gold, it would be clear to all who meet him that he is in charge. He is not here to comfort or attend to those within his domain, but rather as an instrument of judgement and justice. Implacable as winter, this dragon will not be dismissed or shut down. He has a purpose, and that purpose is to bring about the destruction of the wickedness he sees in the world. Most of the time, that means that he is primed to destroy Thread, and he will be chomping at the bit well before he's able to even fly to do that very thing.

Where he sees corruption, he has no mercy. Where he sees faithlessness, he has only disdain. Where he sees wrongs, he will right them, if it is within his power to do so. It is perhaps fortunate that he has been hatched in Western, as were he in High Reaches, or another even more unequal Weyr, he would be quite a terror. Those who belittle others and do them wrong will have Akeroth to answer to, and he won't hold back. He has a sharp tongue, and no compunction against using it as the sword that he instinctively knows he should possess.

He is judging you. Always. Take a wrong step, and you had best believe that he'll be right there to tell you. He's not afraid to speak his mind to people whom he shouldn't be able to communicate with. He'll talk to people who aren't his rider, when he thinks he should... which is all the time. He does not know boundaries when it comes to setting fire to the evil within Pern. ... Perhaps not actual fire, but maybe fire depending on the level of corruption. Woe betide you, Nabol. Akeroth hates you and everything you stand for. You disgust him.

The tolerance of Nabol disgusts and angers him. Bitra angers him. Crom angers him. Rivercrest Hold angers him. It's going to be a challenge and a half for his rider to hold him back from making his opinions painfully clear. And Faranth help anyone who tells him that the suffering of others is justified in any way. He would happily take on a Lord Holder, if it came down to it, so let's hope that it never comes to that.

He is a fantastic judge of character. Where he sees goodness, he rewards it generously. Where he sees faithfulness, he returns it in kind. Where he sees charity, he is ready to aid and do his part. But don't think to try to deceive him, he abhors lies as much as he does outright violence and meanness. Abusers and manipulators will be punished for their crimes. As a result, he really does not like most of his clutchmates. He is particularly fond of his gentler siblings, and feels that it is his personal responsibility, tiny though he is, to protect them. He has a love/hate relationship with the Demon, strangely compelled by him, and yet loathing him all the same.

Theme Song: O' Death, Jen Titus
Why Me? Miach's self-sacrificing nature, her way of putting others before herself, appeal deeply to the Angel. Akeroth, while a judgmental baby from the start, will always put the lives of others before his own. She is his perfect match, his heart and soul. He will never love anyone as he loves her, and he will want to protect her from the start. There is not a bad bone in Miach's body, and from the moment she touched his egg, he sensed that about her. He would accept nothing less than one who would make of themselves a martyr if the need arose. However, it is her benevolence that draws him in, and that may help to temper his sharp edges. This Angel will be sweet for you, and you alone, Miach.
