The flu has struck High Reaches Weyr!
For anyone who is either travelling through High Reaches Weyr or is stationed there you have the option of getting them a case of illness.
Master Healer Donvie has this to say about it: A particularly nasty bug is making its way through the Weyr. Symptoms include headache, fever, chills, sore throat, and congestion. If you feel under the weather, rest when you can, and notify your Wingleader's immediately! This bug doesn't pass quickly, and can take up two sevendays to pass. Some cases have resulted in more dire illness, such as a chest or sinus infection and pneumonia, so don't take this lightly. Drink lots of liquids, get lots of rest, and don't push yourself to fight through it.
To see how your character fares, just roll 1 D6 per character. You may post separately or all at once, but we'd prefer you list your characters in order to correspond with the dice rolls.
You also can disregard the roll and re-roll if you want something else. gaia_kittenstar Or just make it up. This is just meant for optional fun!
- - -
1. You're perfectly healthy all season long! You've got an immune system of steel, hot damn!
2. You get some sniffles, and a few sneezes, but other wise seem to fight it off without much trouble. This doesn't keep you from your duties, but you might find yourself turning in early a few nights.
3. Whoops, you caught yourself a light case of the flu. You'll find yourself fatigued, and might exhaust yourself a bit easier. You suffer a sore-throat, and a mild temperature might strike -- especially at night. This will turn into some congestion and leave you breathing out of your mouth at night, and using a lot of tissue and handkerchiefs. Get lots of good rest, drink lots of liquids, and don't push yourself! It should start clearing up within a sevenday.
You still can function, but you might need a day or two of bed-rest just to get over the worst of it.
[If your character pushes himself they will get worse and they will get more sick! Please have them skip to number 4 if they ignore symptoms or push onward!]
4. Oh no, you really have the flu. This is a moderate case, so your character is going to feel like they've been hit by a freight train. The will have a headache, aches in their bones and joints, and a fever of 100-102. They will cough, they will have trouble with congestion, and should be placed on bed-rest until it passes. You're not feeling good at all. If you absolutely had to push through it, you could work, but you're going to feel mighty miserable about the whole thing.
[If your character pushes himself they will get worse and they will get more sick! Please have them skip to number 5 if they ignore symptoms or push onward!]
5. Oh snap, you're really bad. You've got a severe case of the Flu! You're not going anywhere, baby. This is going to hit you like a freight train, and you don't even know what that means! Ramoth herself has stepped on your immune system and crushed it -- you will suffer a high temperature of 102+, have trouble breathing, and be thoroughly congested. For many this is possibly more sick than they've ever been before -- this is a bad flu season, folks! If you push it, you will wind up in the infirmary; you will require some extra healer care, and will take at least two sevendays to fully recuperate.
[If your character pushes themselves move them directly to 6. Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200. gaia_diamond ]
6. Mayday! Mayday! Extreme flu! If you wanted it your character could succumb to the flu and die. This is purely optional. Your character can also recuperate, though it's going to take some time. Your character is going to wind up in the infirmery under healer care. There is no working. There is no leaving the infirmery and it might be touch and go for a while there. You are really not feeling great, and if you have a dragon, you can bet they're distressed!
[There is no pushing it. If your character can push themselves any further with these symptoms they'll push themselves into an early grave. xD ]
