TSUBAKI's OWLs

Core Classes

Astronomy : D

Astronomy was not one of Tsubaki’s fun classes. In fact, she sort of wished that she didn’t need to go to the class. However, if she hadn’t her sister would have killed her. The only great thing about it was getting to stay up late. Though not even that made Tsubaki overly thrilled. As such she hardly studies and thus failed to pass her exam with nothing more then Dreadful grade.

Charms [✔]

Defence Against the Dark Arts : E

Defence was practical, but it wasn’t easy. Though dealing with a boggart wasn’t overly stressful (as it was simply herself beat down and broken). However, the written part could have been better off leaving Tsubaki with a grade of Exceeding Expectations. Nothing to turn her nose at that’s for sure.

Herbology : A

Tsubaki struggled with herbology. Truthfully, she would have skipped out on the subject if not for her older sister forcing her to attend. It wasn’t until she realized she needed a solid grade in Herbology to become a potioneer. Suddenly it become a class worth working on. With luck she managed to slide out of fifth year with an Acceptable grade. Here’s hoping for a better grade in another two years.

History of Magic : P

Tsubaki never really tried when it came to history. She absorbed very little and hardly studied. However, her memory managed to help her along on this one. Sadly, it only helped her to achieve a poor grade and nothing else, leaving her with a failing grade overall.

Potions [✔]

Transfiguration : E

Tsubaki did pretty good when it came to Transfigurations. It was something she felt semi comfortable with and thus did well overall come her OWL examination. Earning herself a decent Exceeding Expectations, she was quite impressed.

Electives

Alchemy : E

The history of it wasn’t Tsubaki’s strong suit. However, what she fought to memorize she made up for in spell work and potion making. Managing a low Exceeding Expectations in Alchemy, she knew she needed to improve if she wanted anything close to that come her final year.

Cursebreaking : E

Cursebreaking was a class Tsubaki enjoyed. Though some of the wand work was harder then others. Gaining a mark of Exceeding Expectations, she wasn’t disappointed but knew her overall grade could be much higher.

Divination [✔]

Healing : E

Tsubaki wasn’t the best at Healing but she was far from the worst. Having a sister who knew a thing or two only made her want to prove herself more. In no way to her sister but to herself. She needed to be on the same wavelength. As is she only turned up with an Exceeding Expectations a grade lower then her sister had her fifth year. The Slytherin knew she had to do better to beat her.

Study of Ancient Runes : A

Tsubaki’s study habits weren’t overly impressive when it came to Ancient Runes. However, they weren’t anything to disapprove of either. In fact, her interest in the subject alone made memorizing the information easier. Managing an Acceptable grade, she hoped to only improve more coming her last two years at Hogwarts.

TSUBAKI's NEWTs

Core Classes

Charms : O

Tsubaki was grateful that charms was far from a struggle practically. She’d been spending quite a bit of time on charms.
Her studies payed off when she came out of her exam with an Outstanding result.

Defence Against the Dark Arts : A

After everything that happened between her and her brother, Tsubaki wasn’t overly confident defensively. Practically she couldn’t deal with her boggart after what happened.
Her fear was too fresh to handle yet. Though she muddled through the rest of her practical, Tsubaki’s grade suffered leaving her with an Acceptable grade at best.

Herbology : A

Tsubaki was never good with plants. Honestly hating the things, Tsubaki only fought to stay in the class because she needed to know this stuff to be a potioneer.
Her ambition to become what she wanted to, helped her here. However, it didn’t help her get more then an Acceptable grade. A passing NEWT was a successful NEWT right?

Potions : O

Becoming a potioneer was Tsubaki’s passion. As such she studied hard to obtain an Outstanding on her NEWT level exam.
Nothing not even her stay in the hospital wing midway through the year would stop her. Natural skill plus hard work proved successful.

Transfiguration : E

Tsubaki had always done quite well in Transfiguration class. Finding a comfort in her spell work she had no fears walking into the final exam.
Coming out of it Exceeding Expectations she was satisfied with her overall performance in the class.

Electives

Alchemy : E

Applying herself to her studies for this one, Tsubaki found her study habits to improve just to make up for the challenge of the class.
She only managed to maintain Exceeding Expectations on her NEWT level exam, the same grade she had received on her OWL.
Though, disappointed that she didn’t get top grade she was at least happy for the most part with the grade she received.

Cursebreaking : A

Tsubaki’s confidence with cursed objected wavered hugely after the events leading up to her stay in the Hospital wing.
Trying to do a practical on such things wasn’t easy on her mind. Despite her attempts to focus she only managed to get an Acceptable grade on her exam.

Divination : O

Tsubaki had an inner eye that worked well with divination. Practically she was a natural with reading the future.
Although it could be a tad cloudy at times, she managed to get through her NEWT exam with an Outstanding result.

Healing : A

Finding herself struggling with healing once into the NEWT level exam, she wasn’t surprised to see her grade drop from OWLs.
Though displeased with the Acceptable grade she did receive at least she could say she passed.
For all her hard work she never obtained an Outstanding but then again, her sister never took the class passed the first major exam anyway.
Beating her sister in some form or another, she could at least be satisfied by that if only slightly.

Study of Ancient Runes : E

After what happened to her by her brother, Tsubaki found herself applying more to her studies.
Where some grades evidently dropped due to mindset, Ancient Runes was not one of them.
In fact, she managed to increase her grade to Exceed Expectations. Something she was happy about.

Wandless Magic : O

Tsubaki applied herself when it came to wandless magic. She never wanted to be caught off guard in the world.
Since being wandless came fairly natural to her she wasn’t surprised to get an Outstanding grade on her exam.
