The night was.. relatively peaceful, for once. Tianath was restless, unable to quite sleep in the warm night air. They had bedded down in High Reaches Hold, as close as they could get to the Weyr before Shenrus got too itchy. Back to just the two of them (for the time being, if she had any sort of say..), he had put on a good show for the hold, enough with marks to get her a nice herdbeast and her rider a cushy room for the night--with marks to spare. He had had good drinks, and she gently checks on him every now and again as he sleeps off his buzz.

Yet she was unable to fall asleep herself. The little white had tried to shift this way and that, had even stood and stretched before laying--nothing was quite quelling the restless feeling in her limbs and in her mind. The stars as her only companion for the night, Tianath had stood and stretched once more. Though this time not as a means to stretch and try to gain some sort of comfort. Instead, her wings spread and she launches into the warm night air.

The further she flies away from the hold, the lighter her wings feel. It was almost like she could fly forever, and never quite have to touch down again. A silly, fanciful feeling that she knows isn’t possible, but the joy in her hearts doesn’t quite want to hear it. Tianath shoots into the air, curling a few times until the momentum carried her to a stop, and her wing sails shootout wide so that way she drifts nice and slowly towards the ground. She grows closer to the Weyr of her birth, and while she knows it would give her rider a near fit, it almost feels a touch soothing to her. She misses the companionship of other dragons, even if not the strict regime of the Weyr. She misses her siblings, most of all. What time she spent with Sozanth was treasured, and if she had her way, they might just cross paths again, but.

For now, this night is hers. Let the Weyrs have their Queens, the night sky could be hers for one night. Tianath settles against a hill gently, thrumming to herself as she eyes the twinkling shapes above, where the clouds did not disturb their glimmering.

SORRY FOR THE DELAY!

The blue dragon flew away from the Weyr, trying hard to set aside the feelings that stormed within him. Some part of him desperately wanted to turn around, to pursue Cynosuth like the star he knew her to be. Had this not been the moment he'd waited for? And yet, another part told him that it would be foolish and unwise to pursue. She was a popular young green--sweet, kind, delicate. He was... Well, he was simply Cinonth, her blue ledgemate. The dragon had well known of how fondly she felt about Aresoth and Menankith; both of them were bronzes and browns, and far larger than he could ever dream to be. With both of them in hot pursuit, it made no sense to join the fray.

Too much pain would be associated with that. To see her get caught be another was a vision this blue didn't want and didn't need to see. He'd left his ledge for her to use if she needed it-- and any other dragon might not feel put off by his presence. On the other hand, if he the stars aligned and he did catch her-- then what? Would she not pine in her heart for another? Would she not wonder what it would be like in Aresoth's claws, or twined with Menankith? No, he would let her have her choice, and would not get in her way. One less competitor might not change the outcome of the Flight, however it might end up, but at least she had less competition to get in the way of her dreams.

That's what she would want, surely.

Gently touching the mind of His, he found H'sadwell wrapped up with Dr'stan. Any confusion or surprise had been wiped away by the flight, and that was just as well for the blue. It meant His wouldn't worry or stress -- he'd be back before his rider began to really worry. This would allow Cinonth a night to simply fly, to clear his thoughts, and maybe heal his hearts.

He might not have been Aresoth, but he had quietly loved the young green from afar. He had hoped she might have been his missing piece.... but perhaps that had been colored by H'sad's wants, too. Life wasn't always kind, after all, but he could and would be kind to Cynosuth. He was well aware of her crushes, and despite his own pain, could only hope that the night was as good to her as she wished it to be.

So he flew on, away from the Weyr.

Lost in his own thoughts, letting the cool, night winds take him where they wished, Cinonth almost missed the flash of pale color against the night sky. A double-take and he found himself watching what he thought was a pale dragon suddenly disappear among the hills. He hadn't expected to see anyone out at this hour that wasn't part of Cynosuth's flight. Curiosity had him change his flight so he might glide over the area he last caught sight of the ghost. Whites were rare in High Reaches, and an old fondness for a lost clutchmate demanded he at least fly over the area.

Unlike some at the Weyr, Cinonth had no bias or prejudice against any dragon of any color. Even if his mind was just making up the vision, it was something new to focus on, and might keep him from thinking about Cynosuth. Wings spread, the blue circled over the hills, curious about what he might find.

((I wasn't sure if she wanted to be caught or not, so he's just gliding over the area, and doesn't/won't see her right now. :3))

This night was utterly gorgeous. Tianath tilts her head up into the night air, slowly breathing in. It’s a calming breath, letting her expansive lungs take their fill of the cool air almost greedily. It cools the wanderlust of her mind, how close she dared to dance by High Reaches, her first home. Old memories are not lost on her, for she is wistful in the dead of night whenever Shenrus slumbers. While she had felt out of place, there’s a fondness in her hearts for her clutch siblings, for her mother Fianth. They are treasured times in the sludge of some less than pleasant ones as well -- the tint of rose on her home.

Yet she cannot begrudge her rider for his fears, for a lot of them were valid. But even if by some slim chance of it all that they did want to return, stealing out in the middle of the night like bandits hadn’t been the most graceful of exits. Companionship, however, had been found in fleeting exchanges with a handsome blue and his rider. They have their freedom now, and Pern their oyster.

It never stops the nibbling of longing for the past in Tianath’s hearts, however.

When she begins to feel the echo of minds in the night--a flight, this late? Someone couldn’t wait any longer..--Tianath turns in the opposite direction. Legs tense as she springs into the air, and her lithe wings take her up and up once more. Sails wide, the breeze takes her for a ride over the hills before the playful tug at her heart takes ahold once more. The white dives down towards the grassy hills once more. The dive isn’t as dramatic as she would have liked, yet the force of falling pulls a sense of joy from the tiny lady.

As the ground begins to grow ever closer, Tianath’s wings spring to life. The momentum catapults her slight form back up into the air, and with a few beats of her wings, she’s higher than she had been before.

The form of another dragon is something she never expected to see--nevermind be catapulting towards.

The practice on her movements for Shenrus’ newest stunt has helped her reaction time, and with the grace of a dragon whose hearts hadn’t been hammering at a near midair collision, her little white form twists and redirects her speed away from the blue dragon. Tianath slows the beating of her wings, coming back closer to the other stranger. A wariness settles in, yet her night had been so liberating that her eyes whirl more green than the draining yellow. I am so sorry for the scare, forgive me. I never expected to find another dragon out in the night.. Tianath trails off as familiarity nibbles at the back of her mind. Even in the moonlight, she recognizes the speckling along his back, his lighter shade of blue. When she speaks again, it’s less the air of an apologetic lady, and more a timid sister.

...Cinonth?
