Summertime had gripped High Reaches and all of the Northern Continent -- there were no cool breezes this day, only a sweltering heat. The weyrlake was as popular with the people as it was the dragons, and a lethargy had seemed to grip the Weyr. It was too damned hot, and too damned dry! The lightning storm that had heralded in Rhianth's flight a few days before had brought no relief of rain. In fact, the temperature just seemed to go up and up....

Today was no exception.

The cooler Lower Caverns meant more weyrfolk and riders were staying indoors. Riders weyrs kept out the worst of the heat, but it was the Lower Caverns and Dining Hall built deeper into the mountains that offered the most relief. It was no surprise that it was packed with riders and weyrfolk alike trying to escape the worst of the afternoon heat.

Olliah was no exception.

Though she had spent most of her day in her weyr, or within the archive rooms, the woman had found herself restless. She wanted up, she wanted out, and she wanted some relief from the stifling summertime heat. By the time the afternoon meal rolled around, she found herself grateful for a chance to get away from her hidework, letters, and the stack of complaints, annoyances, and demands, from various riders, weyrfolk, and holders sitting on her desk. No, for once, she was grateful to get away, to stretch her legs, to sit among the people of High Reaches Weyr. Furthermore, she was hungry, ravenous really... She wanted to eat. She wanted to drink. She wanted to gorge herself.

....

......or did she?

The dark-haired woman had just made it to the Dining Hall when it suddenly dawned on her that the feelings she felt were not her own. It wasn't that she was hungry, it was Fianth who was the source! Oh, shards and shells!
Had she been so oblivious? Had she not paid any mind to her queen's color? Fianth had certainly been a queen in love these past few days, but that wasn't unusual -- not with Krahsujunth on her ledge nearly everyday. Oh, she really was a fool! Between the flu and Threadscore, between work, and stress, had she really missed the signs!?

Reaching out, she touched her link with her dozing beloved -- only to find herself suddenly overwhelmed by a surge of raw feeling.

Fianth woke from her rest, eyes a deep purple. For a moment, she hesitated, reaching out privately to Krah. Krahsujunth, my love. It is time. Her words were rich with adoration, admiration, love, and lust. Her pale hide glowed brighter still as flightlust gripped her, and, finally, spreading her wings wide, she bugled a challenge to all the males in the Weyr. She had waited, and waited, and would wait no more. She knew what she wanted, and though her beloved blue could not be the one to fly her, she would share this dance with him. It would not be easy on her suitors, but surely, there were some among High Reaches who would be worthy to fly a queen!

Dearest hearts, dreamers, fighters, lovers -- who among you has the courage to chase this day and have all your dreams come true? Like a bolt of light, the glowing gold dropped upon the terrified herdbeasts, catching on her claws, and biting down hard on its neck. Ah, but Fianth wanted to feed, wanted to feast, to eat, to gorge for her flight.

Olliah, overwhelmed by the passion, the lust, the raw need to rise, found herself stumbling half-blind towards the feeding grounds. She had been through many a flight with her beloved, but the raw feeling of aggression, of power, of carnal desire shared in her bond always came as a shock to her system. "Blood only, Fianth!" She screamed, trying to force her will on that of the gold even as she tried to reach her. The taste of the meat was tempting, too tempting. It would be so easy to chew up the beast, to rip it to pieces.

NO! Blood only! Olliah tried hard to command her queen, to force her to resist. Typically pliant, today was an exception, and the pale queen turned her head to hiss at her rider, anger, annoyance, irritation dancing through her link. She did not need to be so commanded! She could fight the order, could do as she pleased! She as tired of rules, of restraint, of having to walk a cautious line. She was a gold -- no, she was a queen! -- and she WOULD do as she pleased!

But Olliah's will was stronger, and the gold's weakness. "No, Fianth! Blood it! Drink from it!" It was both a plea and a command, the woman half-begging the hissing, snarling gold. With a shriek, the queen once again tore into the beast, but this time, she sucked the herdbeast dry. Yes, my love. Drink so you might have the strength to fly high. Eating will only keep you down! And neither rider nor dragon wanted that.

Once the herdbeast was dry, Fianth tossed it aside, and immediately snatched another. Her eyes were a rich purple, though flecks of red danced within them. Her lust was strong, powerful, and unabated. There was no doubt about it -- this queen was ready to fly.

Fianth
Positive Traits: Gentle, Loving, Maternal
Negative Traits: Fussy, Scornful, Unforgiving

Fianth is a sweetheart gold, and is matched well with Olliah. Like rider, like dragon, they say, and in this case Fianth found a kindred spirit within the dark skinned girl. Like her rider, Fianth has always had a strong maternal instinct, and a caring nature. She is quite maternal, and will fuss over any dragon that seems to need it; she loves to love, and is gentle in all her ministrations. This makes her an ideal nurse gold -- she is the sort who will visit sick and ailing dragons, or offer comfort to those who are distressed. One way in which she differs from her rider is that, in her world, Olliah will always come first. Where her rider might spread herself thin due to work, obligations, and demands from those around her, Fianth will try to mother her rider and ensure she's sleeping, eating, not worrying. It isn't always easy, due to Olliah's worriesome nature, but she is a soothing balm on that nervous heart. Fianth is not a pushover, for all that she encourages peace and gentility. When push comes to shove, this gold still has claws, and her scorn is not easily forgiven once earned.

Bronzeriders, and even some brown riders, that hang around her rider in that way might find a much colder queen. Fianth has not forgotten the hurt K'ienn and Yisketh caused them. The gold will fly bronzes and browns when she flies, but she is no longer smitten by their words of love. She knows the truth. They don't really care, at the end of the day.

Most lately, though, Fianth has been a queen in love with blue Krahsujunth.
She has been on cloud nine, and is terribly smitten. How foolish she had been to choose the wrong brother so many Turns ago! Her hearts are happy and full.

Olliah
Positive Traits: Considerate, Responsible, Maternal
Negative Trait: Self-Doubting, Anxious, Workaholic
Olliah is seemingly the opposite of the Weyrwoman; where Zheria is firm, Olliah is more flexible; where Zheria is traditional, Olliah is more understanding; where Zheria is suspicious, Olliah is trusting; where Zheria tends to leave a room breathless, Olliah is easily overlooked. It wouldn't be accurate to call her a wallflower, but she simply has never, and likely will never, command an audience. Thankfully, that's more than all right by her.

At her core being, Olliah has always been a considerate and responsible woman. She was always just a little more mature and grown up as a child, and those qualities stayed with her as she grew. If she wasn't thinking of her family's needs, then she was thinking of her friends, or her masters, and then anyone else in the vicinity. She has always considered herself last, which can cause problems, but isn't something she'd willingly wish to change. If there is someone in need, Olliah is the first to reach out to try to help. If there's something she can give, she will do so, willingly; if it's something she can't do, she will strive to find an answer to the problem, or at least someone who can help.

This care for others also stems to children and animals. She has always done her best to play mother, and has a tendency to take others under her wing. Children will find her to be patient and sensitive to their needs; but they will not find a pushover. Olliah has enough of an understanding to know when to be firm, and when leniency can go a long way. Animals, children, weyrlings, candidates-- honestly, Olliah is one of the more approachable riders in High Reaches Weyr, despite her rank and title.

Ever responsible, there is a reason Zheria chose the young woman to be her Second. While there were other gold riders she could have invited to stand by her side, Zheria knows that Olliah is devoted to the Weyr, or at least it's people and dragons. Her sense of duty runs deep, and Zheria knows well that she can depend on the woman to finish a task and a job well done. Olliah takes pride in her work, sometimes to the exclusion of all else. It doesn't matter what sacrifices she personally has to make so long as her duty and tasks get completed. She's the sort of woman to pick up the slack without complaint... though this can cause her to take on more work than she should, or for others to lean on her too much.

So much responsibility and a desire to work hard can cause her to lose out on other things, like personal relationships, or enjoying hobbies and free time. With Thread's return, her need to work, to get the endless tasks of being a Weyrwoman completed, has only caused her to become extra devoted to her work. The Weyr needs order and Zheria and D'mon depend on her to help. Never has the position of Weyrwoman Second been more important than now, with Thread's return. Should anything happen to Zheria, that would put her in charge, and Olliah feels that she isn't prepared for that.

Anxiety and self-doubt seem be behind her desire to please and her addiction to hard work. While only Fianth knows just how deep those worries go, Olliah questions herself everyday. Is she good enough? Is she doing enough for Fianth? Is she doing enough for Zheria? Does Zheria regret her being Weyrwoman Second? Would Zheria prefer another gold rider to aid her? Does Fianth regret her choice? Are the people of High Reaches happy? Could she be doing more? Yes, her brows are often knit with concern, despite her smile. There is always something turning in the back of her mind, and it often is a seed of worry.

While Fianth calms her considerably, her responsibilities as Weyrwoman Second, even after all these Turns, have weigh heavily on her heart. Now that Thread is back, and High Reaches seems to be the Weyr that has it all, Olliah can't help but wonder if she is the right woman for the job. She is no Zheria, after all.

Oh ho, and here you thought you missed out on a PC gold flight! No, it looks like Rhianth's night of passion stirred a particularly pale queen! Given how distracted Olliah had been during Threadfall, thinking about all those rider's butts, is it really a surprise?

Looks like High Reaches Weyr is going to find themselves with not just one clutch on the way, but two!

Funny how these things happen sometime, isn't it?

Flight Begins: Now!
First Round Starts: Friday Evening after/around 5pm!

  • Any dragon in or around High Reaches Weyr can participate! This includes Unaffiliateds, Western dragons visiting the Weyr (for whatever reason), and High Reaches natives!

  • Rolling an entry, but not filling out an RP post halves the points.

  • Not rolling an entry before the time limit results in a 0

  • Please track your own rolls.

  • Olliah is willing to follow the rule the dragon decides, the rider complies. She is without a weyrmate, and probably needs a little afternoon delight, if you will, as much as Fianth. Fianth does have Krahsujunth as a mate, but will only choose a bronze, or maybe a brown. While she will likely be kind and sweet to the winner, they likely won't get more than the night.

  • Depending on the winner's personality and temperament, they could well be included in playing father. Those who aren't interested will have no obligation to remain. Those who are WILL have to contend with Krahsujunth.
Fianth expects whatever bronze or brown to be good to her chosen mate -- those who are not will likely not be welcomed to return.

  • Each round will last 2 days or until everyone has had a chance to roll and fill in their posts, whichever comes first.

  • There will be 5 posts!

  • I will be choosing a winner based on a variety of things. I will automatically at least consider the top two scoring dragons! I will also consider an unknown number of possible plot and RP variants. Dragon temperament, story, possible story, how they get along with Fianth in the air -- I will be letting the character decide so don't worry too much about how you roll -- though that will dictate their position in the flight!

  • If I cannot decide -- I am an indecisive libra, after all -- I will roll from a list!

  • Matching Fianth's roll does NOT mean an automatic win! Unlike other flights, matching Fianth's roll simply means you kept up with her pace-to-pace. Going ABOVE Fianth's number means you pulled off a cooler move than she did, or at least, were quite impressive. Going below Fianth's roll means you didn't quite keep up! The lower the roll, the worse/slower/less-impressive you are. But don't worry -- she's usually a sweet queen.

  • Greens and blues are welcome to chase and flirt with Fianth! Unfortunately, she will not be able to choose you as a mate, even if you manage to keep up. Unfortunately, this flight is all about stamina and strength.

  • Bronzes and browns will have an opportunity to win! The winner will get to write a hatchling dragon in the upcoming clutch, as well as possible participation in writing Touching, Clutching, and Hatching scenes with the Father! (Though again, if they're nasty, Fianth might kick them out, so be warned!)

  • We will roll another dragonet/hatchling writer when we roll for Rhianth's, which makes 3 possible Guest Writers. That will happen likely around the time of the Clutching!

  • NPCs are allowed! If you don't have an eligible brown or bronze, feel free to make up an NPC to participate! If an NPC dragon wins, we will automatically make you a semi-custom derg, so they can become PC!

  • We will also roll out prizes at the end of the flight! To all players who participate, we will raffle a few semi-custom slots, green through bronze, so you can win a flit or dragon of your choice!

  • Krahsujunth will be a new factor in this flight! Get too close to him and you might find yourself at his mercy. He might take points off your total score!

  • Fianth may also send out boons or points to dragons, or ask Krah to spare them. She also might not. Just depends on how she's feeling!

BEWARE KRAHSUJUNTH

That's right, in this particular instance you've got blue Krahsujunth, played by ShinosBee, to beware! This blue is known to be fierce, and he is ready to strike down any who get too close! The ichor will fall today, so beware!

Those who roll within 7 points of Krahsujunth's round roll =OR= who find themselves within 10 points of Krahsujunth's total for that round WILL have to roll a D4! This will effect your placement in the flight! But don't worry -- Fianth might ask her beloved to refrain from attack on your behalf, or even grant you a few boons herself.

1 - The furious blue comes streaking towards you, claws outstretched! You manage to duck out of the way of his strike, but it costs you a bit of movement. -2 to total score.

2 - Pain lances through you as Krahsujunth's teeth sink into a softer patch of flesh. You trumpet alarm and manage to pull free, but you've fallen a bit behind in the process! -6 to total score.

3. Out of nowhere the blue swoops in, flying right into your path. For a moment you think you can duck around him, then CRACK! Like a whip his tail snaps out, striking across your snout! -3 to total score.

4. You edge a bit too near to the blue for his liking, and he snarls a warning at you. Thankfully, another rival catches his eye at just that moment, and you're spared the feel of his claws...for now.

Krahsujunth had been half dozing alongside his golden love. Never fully sleeping, no, the scarred blue slept with one eye open, just in case any trouble arose, or if his sweet Fianth shifted and needed a snuggle. She as his hearts' delight, the truest point of joy in his whole world, aside from her perfect V'rind. He tucked himself a bit closer to her, heat of the day never enough to keep him at bay, crooning at the sight of her radiant glowing.

He'd known the time was coming. How many turns had he sat, forlorn and unseen across the weyrbowl, watching as she grew ready to rise in turns long gone? He knew just how she began to sparkle when her time drew near, and every time had risen to chase in hopes that this time, maybe this time, she would finally see him. Well, now she'd seen him, that was certain. Seen him when both their claws were on the ground, their wings folder, lacking all that heady glow and blinding desire of the flight. And still, she'd chosen him. He could never, ever be worthy of her. But he was ready to do everything he could to try to be. And that meant that, when the time came...he'd have to let her go.

She shifted, rising, and he did too. A moment spared, to press his head to hers, eyes whirling the same deep violet—no hint of sadness or worry, or ire there, and how could there be when he loved her so well?—as he rumbled. I know, my Fianth. Sun and moon of my hearts. You will shake them all from the skies with your beauty. He knew how she yearned for eggs again. He'd seen her hidden sorrows during the recent clutch's visitation. He would, could, never deny her. It would make her happy to be a mother again, and he would fly to the red star and back himself to see it done. ...And if they are unworthy, I will cast them down myself. At least a sheen of red joined the purple as he took off after her, boldly joining her in the weyrbowl.

A fleeing herdbeast was too slow, and like her, he too blooded. They would match, by the end of the day. Stained with blood and ichor, if the unworthy got too close. He lingered near, wings still half-splayed in a display to any and all males that would come to chase. This gold did not rise unaccompanied, and she deserved only the very best. He was more than ready to help the cream rise to the top of this lot. And if a certain bronze should show his ugly, scarred face...well. It'd be the last time he thought of chasing Fianth, if Krahsujunth had anything to say about it. Shining beacon of my life, I may not be able to catch you...but I will certainly try. And if all others fail, know that I will be there to lift you up once more. I swear it by the star stones and the seven spires of our home. I will not fail you.

...
.....
...

Across the Weyr, V'rind sighed as she felt the pulse of lust ripple out from her blue. It was not an uncommon thing, the blue and his lady love often...engrossed with each other of late. When that lust only built though, and became a white-hot, screaming ragefire of want...well.

She turned, intending to say something to T'at, just in time to have him instead turn to her. And all she could do was nod—if any more kids came out of this, she'd do well worse than punching him—and then crash her lips into his.

Perhaps this was the best way to test his wings, to see if his wounds had fully healed. Soheith had been grounded for so long he was feeling more than a little idle, more than a little waste of space. This Weyr wasn't even fully their home, and yet their kindness had been extended to dragon and rider; Soheith believed it was do to the color of his hide, but O'tas had assured him that High Reaches was full of good people.

Mine. His voice was soft as he reached to the mind of his rider, finding him mentally. Another Gold rises. This one, I will chase. There was a faint bit of confidence in his tone as the small bronze allowed his body to rise. His eyes whirled with the fainted flecks of purple as he glanced up, wings spreading in the open area. Find hers, if you wish. I am going.

Silently he moved to get enough speed to lift, taking off from the small run. He joined quite a few others in the sky, browns and bronzes of all sizes and shades. This Gold was a sight to behold, like the sun itself had mellowed and come down to fly among them. It calmed his hearts and brought him peace, though the thoughts were unsettled by the feelings of rage and unease he got from...a blue?

Ah, her suitor. It was not Soheith's place to judge whom a dragon called their love, but he did send a warning towards the smaller beast. You are welcome to fly among us, but be warned. I will shoulder your violence only so far. There wasn't quite a threat, as Soheith wasn't a dragon to use his color or position to demand anything of anyone. Warnings were given more times than a follow-through, really.

++

O'tas was folding some laundry as his dragon rose, and he felt the usual knot that came with Flights rise in his gut. The ladies around him all giggled at his sudden redness, and the bronzerider shook his head. Maybe he did need to follow Sho's advice and find the Gold's rider? Who...who even was she?

That was going to be the hard part.

NPC Bronze Soheith, of O'tas

Soheith: Soft and peaceful, he is a small bronze who is often mistaken for a larger brown. Contented to follow, yet lead when needed, he does not hesitate to defend when pushed. Fancies himself a protector, but only in some cases. Was hurt during Threadfall, but has recovered enough to chase.

O'tas: Mid-forties. Often volunteers himself in places that don't need help. Currently helping with chores, because he feels it's the least he could do to thank the Weyr. A little sheepish. Probably still a virgin? Very awkward.

The sun was unforgiving, even after the rains - the rains seemed to have made the heat even crueler, but Meigth basked out on his ledge, ruminating over the flight from several days prior. Rhianth was a Queen that none were truly meant to contend with - perhaps more a point of honoring her than a real desire to catch her. She fell into the arms of her chosen mate every time.

Yet the stirring of another gold more constant to their Weyr was impossible to miss. She called even before she lifted from her ledge. Dear, lovely Fianth, bringing her handsome ledgemate with her - a strong, capable, blue whom perhaps would have been best to allow to fly her....if he'd been able to. No! He could! Meigth saw no reason why Krashsajunth couldn't do it beyond biology. He would have flown her beautifully, a sight to see for another day.

This day, however, the spindly bronze nudged at his rider gingerly before pushing from his ledge to bolt straight up into the air after the glowing queen with a sweet, song-like bugle. It wasn't a serenade, but a tribute as he circled, offering Krahsajunth a mental nudge like a bow offered to the father of any clutch on the sands. Nothing but respect towards the true winner as he finally caught enough air underneath himself to level out.

Fianth! I am here for the dreams of you and yours~ Shall we reach for the sky and get you back to your ledge with your beloved all the sooner?

--
N'ori had been watching the Weyrlings settling in for their mid-day meals (and some their chores) with an entertained grin when the nudge from his lifemate sent a jolt thru him, causing the broad shouldered man to look up towards the sky.

Another? Well! Give it your all, Meigth! he seemed completely unbothered as his lifemate rose to the chase. Perhaps he would fare better this day than a few previously.

------
N'ori Charming, bright, and heroic. N'ori can be considered overbearing, but has a genuinely good heart. Those who smile even in the hardest time have a strength no others have, right?

Meigth A long, spindly bronze with a strong torso. He is noble to the point of Martyrdom, and has an uplifting, confident personality that wants everybody to reach for more than what they are.

With a Gold flight having taken place above the weyr a few days ago, Gareth had found himself curious about just what type of new children would be joining the weyr soon. He had never talked to Rhianth before, but he knew this had been her home weyr, although she didn't stay here anymore. No, instead Gareth was feeling a longing of his own, not one of lust, but one of wishing to father a clutch of his own.

Curled upon his weyrledge beside Delyth, the bronze was happy enough that this longing never really bothered him. Delyth could not give him the clutch he wanted, but his hearts beat for only her. Perhaps it was the new babies that had been brought from Southern Boll, or it was the fact that A'dras' youngest hatchling had begun to crawl and he often found the little girl trying to edge her way between he and Delyth on the ledge.

A sudden call brought Gareth out of his thoughts, his eyes moving to scan the sky. Delyth had lifted her head as well, sending love and support to the bronze, urging him to chase the golden queen. She knew he loved only her, and knew of his longing.

I will be with you once more again soon, my dear Delyth. He had ducked his head down, pressing it against her own before he stood up and fell from the ledge, allowing the wind to catch underneath his outstretched wings, and carry him back up into the sky.

The sight of Fianth upon another herdbeast had the bronze call out to her. Beautiful Fianth, I hope you will allow me to fly with you. His eyes, and mind, did not only reach out to the queen that would soon be the treasure every man wanted. He reached a confident, and yet gentle tendril out towards the blue, Krahsujunth. Krahsujunth, I will not dare try and capture the hearts of your beloved this day. I just wish at the chance that many dragons long for. I give you my respect. There was no manipulation here, Gareth truly felt respect and some admiration for the younger dragon. To reach for what he wanted so much, no matter what anyone said or thought about it.

Ahlalei had sought refuge from the heat in halls underground like so many others. She was seated nursing a mug of cold klah and listening to the conversation around her.

Mine… Kalikath’s voice eased into her head. Fianth rises. Ahlalei coughed on a sip of klah in surprise. As she was taking too long to respond, Kalikath continued. I will chase. It is only as is right to do. That was all the warning that Ahlalei got and she was seeing through his eyes. She stumbled to her feet and began moving, not entirely sure where she was headed.

Fair and lovely Fianth, dreams are wonderful to make come true. Come what may, memories will be made tonight. He did not forget about the male that spent so many nights on the ledge with Fianth. Fierce Krahsujunth, I do not wish to take your lady from you. What ever happens, she is yours just as you are hers.

It had been a calm day, one that had Nessuth watching what was occuring as His spent a relaxing day with his children. The hatchlings still disturbed the brown, and he would occasionally have to tolerate some tugging, or gentle patting. The latter was far more acceptable, but the Brown was doing his best to be delicate with the creatures. After all, human hatchlings lost their shell before they were even in the world! They were terribly delicate. It was shortly after he'd gotten his Rider's attentions back to himself, with the hatchlings elsewhere that he felt...something familiar, and when his head turned, he saw her. Fianth, Krahsujunth's beloved, had taken to the air, and he felt the urge within him. Worried yellow mixed with deep violet and he sent T'at a quiet, soothing apology. Snapping his wings wide, he was careful to launch in to the air, watching for the large Blue that he was sure to be not far behind. Up, to the air, in to the skies to join the beautiful Gold, Beautiful ,wonderful Fianth. Your glory knows no match, and your lovely self deserves only the best. I would dare to come to fly behind you, and hope only that I can please both you, and your beloved. Say what you would about the Brown, but at the least he was respectful. He knew he was chasing a Gold whose heart belonged elsewhere, but he would do what he might.

Below, T'at was glad that his children were not there. It was why his attentions turned to his love, because he could feel the violent lust grip him. Nessuth's lust always spurred his own, more....aggressive tendencies, but he was simply trying to remain still. "No more kids." It was simple as that before his mouth pressed to hers, fierce and demanding.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
About T'at:
Sullen and quiet T'at is a recent addition to the weyr, thanks to fatherhood and becoming weyrmated to V'rind. Now a Wingsecond, he's still not sure of himself, or how life works now...but...well.

About Brown Nessuth:
Sweet, and well mannered Nessuth is glad to have a home to call his own. While he loves to Chase, he is truly adoring of T'at's mate's dragon. He appreciates Krah, and wants nothing more than his happiness, so he's kind of tender-footing this flight...just a bit.

It felt like there had only JUST been a gold flight-- No, no there actually had, an unaffiliated gold had flown over the Weyr, stirring everybody, and P'tius was still emotionally recovering from it, because... Why her, of all people? There could have been worse people to wake up with, but why that one?

P'tiusmine, Fianth rises tonight!

The words invaded his mind, waking P'tius from his fitful sleep. "What?"

She rises, I must chase! On his ledge, the giant brown dragon seemed to vibrate, eyes looking up. He would be contending against not just the usual of other browns and bronzes, but Krahsujunth. Don't be surprised if I come back with wounds.

That was... Succinct. P'tius had enough mind to pull on trousers and boots, hurrying out to the weyrledge as the great beast pushed off, rising into the air. "This is going to be a long night..."

Beating his wings, Lennoth rose into the night sky. He let out a bellow, then glanced to Krahsujunth. Krah, my friend! Would you consider sharing your lady love tonight?

----

About Lennoth: First and foremost, large - 42' of dragon - And heavy due to muscle mass. Mostly he keeps to himself, mainly due to forgetting to socialize. The only blue he feels ill-will toward is thankfully not there or he'd probably be distracted with the need to fight.

About P'tius: Tall, built like a brick s**t house, has a punch to go with it, and has perpetual stubble. Initially he comes off as gruff and serious, this hides how caring he can actually be.

"Hold still, will you?" Thella grumbled as she tightened the new straps on Lireloth's harness around the dragon's middle. Lireloth shifted his weight again and sucked in a breath of air to expand his midsection a bit which earned him a swift kick to his front leg. He let out the breath in a hearty trumpet of amusement, laughing delightedly in Thella's mind. Their old gear had taken quite the beating in the last Threadfall and Thella had just finished making sure their new stuff was up to par even if Lireloth was being a firelizard's turd about it.

"Fine, fine, you great buffoon of a beast," the rider grumbled as she unbuckled the straps, freeing the brown dragon. Lireloth shook himself and stretched his wings, sighing in relief.

You know I can't stand the feel of new leather on my hide. Please, dearest, oil it well and break it in before I must wear it for any period of time.

"Oh! You great big baby!" Thella said, tossing the saddle at Lireloth who brushed it away with a wing, an amused look on his face as his eyes swirled green and blue with delight. "You're lucky I humor you, you know!"

The brown was about to reply when an all-too familiar noise reached his ears. The blue-green eyes tinged purple as a shudder ran through his body so violently it would have shaken the saddle off if Thella hadn't already removed it. The rider felt it too and with the mounting flightlust was a sense of dread. Oh shards. Again?

"Is it-"

Fianth. Oh, this will certainly be interesting, Lireloth purred, already heading for the exit of the Weyr. Thella didn't bother to try to stop him. Green flights were one thing, but a gold flight she would never deny him, especially since he sat out the last one knowing there was no chance he'd sweep the queen from the skies. Sighing heavily, she turned to put the saddle away and retreated to the safety of her bed.

Lireloth stretched his wings once he was outside and hopped into the air, circling the area where Fianth and her mate were feasting on the blood of the preybeasts. Others were already gathering but Lireloth had only eyes for the pair on the ground. Oh, what a sight they were indeed! It was well-known that the queen had chosen her beloved already and while love was pure, it couldn't produce eggs.

A lovely afternoon for a flight, dear Fianth, he trilled in greeting, sending a mental brush to both gold and blue. While he was usually intent on being 'the best', he knew better than to try to override her affection for Krah. He was a mischief maker to be sure, but he wasn't an idiot. Drawing his ire on a normal day would be stupid, today it would be a death wish.

Krah, but your Fianth is looking radiant today. I hope I'll impress you both. Lireloth was a lover, not a fighter - although his last flight against Thread had proven that he could battle with the best of them - and was more than happy to appeal to both dragons. Surely Krah might have some sway over who Fianth ultimately decided. That, and he wasn't too keen on feeling the sting of claws or teeth on a day like today.

---
Lireloth
Positive: Outgoing, charming, smooth-talker
Negative: Vain, attention hog, mischief maker

Lireloth is a lover of all things beautiful - because he is beautiful and only deserves the best of course! - and will happily take out any losing frustrations with another willing dragon of any color should he fail. (But he won't fail because he's the best one out there~)

Thella
Positive: Bold, curious, free-spirited
Negative: Blunt, crass, instigator

This is the third flight you've chased for in the past few months, Lireloth. Thella is tired of your BS and is staying in her room because this is the second goldflight in as many days it seems and now HER dragon is chasing again and- UGH. AKA she won't be mingling with the others.

This heat was just oppressive, it was unreal, something that both of them had dealt with over the turns past but for some reason this summer was even worse than normal. Bail had taken to the refuge of the mountains in the hopes that some sort of cool would help, but now she was starting to think that she should have gone and sought refuge at the beach rather than here. Even so far north, even so high in altitude, it was just unreal and Zioneth had done nothing but complain since they'd gotten here.

Nothing but....

Finally she had run out of alcohol and with an empty flask she was more than willing to turn to a place that her grouchy dragon wanted nothing to do with. Or normally wouldn't have. Once they'd appeared at High Reaches a roar had sounded through the entire bowl, shaking her to the bone as she realized what it was and her dragon came close to biting the straps off of himself while still in the air. Gold flight.... Dear Faranth forbid.

"On such a hot day?!" Bail shouted as she was finally able to release herself and got shaken to the ground by her own brown, landing in a heap. "Oh you'll pay for that you big fire lizard, get back here!" But the words were hollow as he was already up in the air chasing. Best to settle in with a large flagon of alcohol and fight off the impending headache that was sure to come her way as she fought back against it. Not that she wouldn't have enjoyed company, but she wasn't what those in a more rigid Weyr would even find remotely a possibility. With a sigh she trudged off and only cast one glance back at her bright brown as he rose through the sky towards the pale gold that called his attention.

And rise he did, like a shot with the strength of the muscles in his chest and his wings, the tank like brown climbed ever upwards towards the rising gold that had caught his eyes. Eyes that were burning a reddish purple as he saw all the males rising into the sky, so many browns and was that a blue dragon up there!? Colors never bothered him, he was rather disgusted and distrustful of every dragon of every color, but the smaller ones posed little threat to him with his size and strength, so he let them be and generally was a bit easier with them unless they pushed him. Bronzes.... could be annoying. But that was thanks to their size and their chances of outshining those that a lot of them in this particular Weyr looked down upon.

Zioneth didn't call out to her with words, but his roar echoed as he threw it out in challenge to those that might look down on a brown or a blue for chasing a gold. This day they would see how strong they could be.

----------------------
Zioneth: A hostile weyrless dragon that is stronger than his 37' length might suggest. He's flown a gold before over HR, but he's not interested in staying.

Bail: A former assassin turned mercenary that will just be looking for some alcohol and maybe a good time. She's not near as offputting as her dragon, but she's a patchwork of tattoos, piercings, and blessed with wild hair.

The weyr had been hot and mucky. His favorite perches had been too hot to rest on comfortably for long, plus there was never anyone nearby for long. Hinburath was as disgruntled as everyone else over the heat. It was so much harder to listen to gossip with everyone in the water. There was no place to hide on the beach, and he couldn't breath or hear very well underwater.

He was just about to complain to his rider when a sultry voice on the hot air caught his attention. Hinburath was mildly surprised when Fianth announced her need to rise. His rider slightly more so. A double clutch for High Reaches Hinburath, Ly'bur commented to the brown; already he was thinking far ahead. Perhaps his useless daughter would impress with two clutches presented to her.

The queen must yet to be won mine. I intend to chase. The best gossip is in the air today. The brown spread his webbed marked wings waiting for the gold to take the lead. We will hunt out only the best, most juiciest gossip Fianth.

Much like everyone in High Reaches Weyr, Banashe was attempting to spend the sweltering days of summer trying to stay as cool as possible. She down at the lake, swimming in the cool waters when a sharp hiss like water splashed on a hot rock swept across her mind. Instinctively she stood up and looked toward her dark, sinuous brown. What is it? She asked to find the reason for her startled brown.

Gold Fianth rises. I may have lost the first one, but we have a second chance here. Severith swept toward the gold and found a perch to watch her blood her kills from. Banashe splashed from the lake waters This could help us greatly if you manage to fly her my love. Fly well. She had not expected a second chance to arise so soon. Was it something about the heat that was causing the golds to rise one after another? Maybe if there was a third one in a few more days, she might begin to suspect something.

Already out of the water and she could feel sweat building on her skin. This was going to be a hot and uncomfortable flight.

While Banashe is not interested in Olliah as a bed partner, Severith might be interested is playing daddy to the clutch. XD

A Goldflight was just the sort of thing needed to get the kinks out of your back, as Ulix had said before. He had been fashioning a new set of riding leathers at Argoth's request with a satisfied smile to himself, ready to hear the brown's gossip once he had made his rounds about the weyr for a few days. But a very different turn was about to make that even more interesting.

On his ledge, Argoth's head snapped towards a seemingly random direction, and he began to hum as his eyes turned purple. Oh! Oh, Mine, she is beautiful! he all but yipped as he got to his feet, tail wagging. I will go to her and make you proud!

Wait, what? But even as he thought it, the man felt the familiar pangs of lust come over him and laughed. A double flight? High Reaches was going to be filled to the brim at this rate. Fly like she is your muse, then! Ulix cheered as his dragon took to the air. Take her and sing your hearts out!

And sing he would. Argoth's bugles could have indeed been the sounds of a harper's instrument as he joined the flight, sweet flute-like tunes of his joy to be part of it all. At least in this moment, he wasn't held back by his usual bumbling, even though he feared Krahsujunth's wrath. (As any sane dragon should.) This was, after all, the dream goal both dragon and rider had had since they could chase. Ulix refused to consider having a family, but if His Argoth were to clutch in his stead, they could both have a father's pride! And then Ulix would have to find some way to love him more than he already did! And maybe Krah would be pleased with the clutch, and the babies could have two fathers!

Nerves and eagerness and want surged through him at the storm of thoughts. Catching the blue's eye when he could, Argoth bowed his head. There was blood on him; Argoth had a feeling there would be more still before this finished and shied away ever so slightly. A predator he may be, but Krah was the apex predator. I only want a taste of your truest happiness, he told the blue, his projection the ball of anxiety and desire inside waiting for a chance to slip out past his wall of respect. She is radiant. You are lucky to have it every day beyond this. He decided that had to be good enough and wouldn't chance screwing it up with his less than silver tongue.

Fianth deserved better than his cowed self, however. Argoth was not the young dragon tripping over himself every gold flight that he used to be, but his cheer hadn't diminished. I have been working on my songs, sunlight. Would you let me praise you?

about ulix
A proud, eye-patch wearing specimen of a strong man who used to hunt both animals and lawbreakers for holds before his dragon finally convinced him to go back home. Think Gaston if he were a lot more clever. (And a momma's boy.)
