	Shop Meta: War in Heaven Strange things are happening in the world of SoA right now and, of course, the lions are bound to notice. This thread will be used to update players on what's going on locally and, since this is a religious pride that ignores the actual deities that are causing these problems, give them an idea of how it is being spun by pride leaders.

	Update 1 - A Storm & Strange Lights While gods are being ejected from the Haven, the first thing to strike the Mwezi'Johari territory is an unseasonably strong storm. Though it comes out of nowhere, impact is minimal and nobody thinks too much on it.. what catches the attention of most Mwezi lions is what happens when the sky clears. The first night after Mkodi and Death begin their battle, there is a meteor shower. Typically considered a good omen in the Mwezi'Johari, response is positive .. until it becomes apparent that it's not all shooting stars and it doesn't seem to be stopping. The lights in the sky start to make some uneasy after a couple nights but for the most part, it's still being pushed as a sign of good and not ill.

	Update 2 - Eternal Darkness The "shooting stars" finally stop but the whole sky is dark as night, even when everybody is sure the sun should be out. Eternal night is fine, in theory.. but even the moon isn't out tonight and it should be! Stranger still, the stars are present. At least.. you think they're stars. The pride is already primarily nocturnal so there is no great drama there, the real problem is that the moon is missing, the sun won't rise and there's just no denying that something supernatural is going on. While they have no explanation, the Queen, Shaman and Priests are doing their best to minimize panic- especially since we're still hosting the Firekin! For the Firekin visiting the land, this.. is also really, really weird.

	Update 2.1 - Cursed Children Guards sent out to the borders have found that the darkness on the pride extends beyond their borders, it is not only the pride that is affected. They have found, however, that it doesn't go on forever. Unfortunately, no part of the pride's territory is visible to the sky and there's no getting around the fact that the Great Lion can't watch over them now. Though there is some debate about how cubs born in this time are handled, a decision is made that they are being born out of sight of the Great Lion and are without his blessing. Due to the unusual and unfortunate circumstances surrounding their births, cubs born in the darkness have become known as the Cursed Children. 	Update 3 - Earthquake & Departure of the Firekin The sun still hasn't come up, there's something strange going on at the waterhole and, though it wasn't felt as strongly here as there, there was an earthquake in the mountains. The pride is now on high alert because strange things just keep happening. Even the visiting Firekin are becoming uneasy and they've decided to head back to the desert without the lions who went on the search party to make sure their home isn't also falling apart. While the search party is trapped on the other side of the mountains, seers from each pride have assured the leaders that they'll be OK, even if they won't be back soon. To most members of each pride, this just means that their leaders are confident that the lost party can handle itself so the rest of them can attend to the urgent matters closer to home. Before departing, Queen Kimondo & Magistrates Nawvlee & Psyche formally declare an alliance between the prides but agree to name ambassadors at a later date, when the world is a little more stable.

	Update 4a - Return of the Moon & the Mystery at the Waterhole The sun is not yet back but the affected area seems to be shrinking every day. There are finally parts of the pridelands where the moon is visible! Though still hazy and far from ideal, it's enough for the pride to celebrate the Great Lion's return. Slowly but surely, things begin to return to normal around the Mwezi'Johari.. except there is definitely something going on at the waterhole. To investigate the waterhole: Roll 1d20 1-5 - Nothing unusual happens 6-10 - Everything seems normal but you get the feeling you're being watched. 11-15 - You never get more than a glimpse, but there's something in the water. 16-19 - You get too close to the water's edge. Something grabs you and tries to pull you in.. but it doesn't try to keep you there or drown you. 20 - Quote Ecavi for an answer! Note - There is a chance nobody will find out what's happening in the waterhole, and that's fine. * Update 4b - Stranded Search Party Moves On Cross-posted in Mwezi & Firekin update threads During the rockslide, the search party managed to avoid serious injury and has taken some time to rest & recover back in the Nergui temple. Some scouting in the mountain range finds the known paths through are blocked and there's still just something about the whole area that feels unstable. So.. the group has made the decision to go around the mountains. To the surprise of the Mwezi'Johari in the group, they stumble upon a neighbour they didn't realize they had. After following a path through some of the mountains the group has found their way into the territory of the Ulili'mlindaji, a pride that regularly welcomes outside visitors and tends to shrines to many gods. The lost search party is bigger than the usual groups that visit but Ulili Leader Salma welcomes them, and the group makes another stop on the journey back to the Mwezi'Johari. Our group will be in the Ulili'mlindaji for the next few weeks. Enjoy!

	Update 5 - Back in the Mwezi'Johari Cross-posted in Mwezi & Firekin update threads After a few weeks spent in the Ulili-mlindaji, the stranded search party moves on and makes the final leg of its journey back to the Mwezi'Johari. The moon has come back, the mysterious goings-on at the waterhole have ended (rumour is that it was a god all along?? that can't be right!) and things are finally getting back to normal! The search party is welcomed back with great excitement but the Firekin don't stay long before continuing on their way back to the desert as well. Everybody is home again! Everything seems almost too quiet after all that's been going on, but there are very few complaints.
