Physical Description: Ashlyn is not very tall, only standing at about 5'4 and weighs about 125 lbs. She has beautiful chestnut hair that she usually has tied up into a braid that goes to mid back. When it isn't in a braid, her hair cascades down her to stop just above her behind and ends in soft ringlets. She has deep blue eyes the color of sapphires. She wears clothes that are pretty, but also functional, since she has to make sure she can move easily in them.
Personality: Ashlyn is one of those sweethearts, who hates to see anyone in pain or in trouble. That is why she became a healer to begin with, so she could alleviate any pain that people might feel. As the Weyrlingmaster's assistant, she is determined to help teach the Weyrlings the proper techniques and skills, to keep them safe. She is always willing to lend a hand when she is needed, even if it is someone who she doesn't get along with. This bluerider also has a love for all creatures in Pern, from the biggest dragon to the smallest bug. If she encounters someone less fortunate than she is, then she will find some way to assist them. Unfortunately, this leads to her sometimes being a human doormat to others. She has a hard time saying no, which leads to her sometimes spreading herself pretty thin. It also can lead to her neglecting her own needs and wants, to fulfill those of others. Sometimes people will take advantage of her good nature, such as getting her to clean up their mess. Fortunately, since she got Gyafrith, he has been helping her be stronger and learn how to say no.

Ashlyn is also known for her intelligence, knowing how to think outside the box when she needs to. She is used to thinking on her feet, coming up with a plan in a moment's notice. She loves learning new things, whether it is from her own observations or information she had obtained from others. The woman believes that knowledge should be passed down to the next generation as well, hence why she loves her job helping the Weyrlingmaster. She also loves going exploring with Gyafrith, when she has time off to do so. She is known for putting everything she has into whatever she is doing. The young woman prides herself on being punctual and polite when dealing with others. However, the girl can also come off as being a little quiet and shy sometimes. Sometimes this is just because she is deep in thought. Other times it is because she does not know you, so she doesn't know what to talk about with a person. Gyafrith has helped her come out of her shell more, allowing her to feel more confident when speaking to others.

Since being paired with Gyafrith, Ashlyn as gone from a leader in the making to being an actual leader. When faced with a situation, she usually knows what needs to be done and how to do it. She is also known for being empathetic, able to identify what someone needs and finding a way to be of assistance. She is a woman who speaks with wisdom and has a tendency to get people to listen to her. Ashlyn has a tendency to assess the strengths and weaknesses of people, able to encourage them to be the best they can be. She is able to get people to help her and to work together, so that strengths can balance out the weaknesses of others. The young woman still needs to work in believing in herself, something she has struggled with her whole life. She doesn't want anyone getting hurt because of a miscalculation on her part or because she made a mistake. Luckily, she had Gyafrith and those close to her to remind her she can do anything she puts her mind to. Also, they tell her that everyone makes mistakes, she just has to learn from her's.
History: Ashlyn is the eldest daughter of two of the prominent riders of the High Reaches Weyr, having a twin brother just a few minutes younger than she is. Her parents instilled in her and her siblings the good qualities of hard work, kindness, loyalty that they felt were important. Although it was unusual for their weyr, Ashlyn's parents did not put their children in the creche, but raised them instead. They loved their children and felt it would be best for them to all stay together and learn from one another. They even took a boy named Tarel under their wing, raising him as one of their own. So Ashlyn and her siblings got used to one parents being away and the other taking over the care of them. When both of them were called away, then the children were left in the temporary care of another family member or a friend of the family.

Ashlyn had always yearned to become a dragon rider, just like her parents were. It seemed like such a long wait for her, but she tried to fill that time with learning a trade. She decided on healing, since it impressed her how many ways the healers helped everyone. She learned from some some of the best and worked with them in the infirmary. As much as she enjoyed being a healer, her heart was still on being a rider. So as soon as she turned fourteen, she stood for the first time, hoping to get a dragon of her own. Unfortunately, it was not meant to be for this first hatching she participated in. For the next five turns, she would stand whenever she could, but nothing happened. She started to worry that maybe she wasn't meant to be a rider, but her parents assured her that in time, she would bond.

Finally, the tide turned when she turned nineteen and that was the beginning of a new chapter in her life. A protective blue who had stood up for one of his siblings had come over to the girls. He didn't seem to care that blues usually went to boys, his bonded was a special girl in his eyes. Ashlyn was surprised when she impressed to the noble blue Gyafrith, but he made her feel complete. Then they put in the hard work of Weyrling training, to become full fledged riders. On the day of their graduation, Ashlyn was approached and offered a job as one of the assistants to the Weyrlingmaster. With some convincing from her dragon, the twenty year old took the job, privately glad to have such an honor bestowed on her.

For the next eight years, she has been strengthening her bond with Gyafrith even more, so they would operate more as one. Also, she has thrown herself into her work as an assistant to the Weyrlingmaster. She wants to make sure that every Weyrling is prepared, even more now that thread has returned. She has also spent the past seven years with T'ye, as he weyrmate. Also, Gyafrith has been working with her on being more outgoing and making friends. She is happy to have some friends that she knows will always have her back. Her and T'ye also have a little two year old, which they decided to keep with them, like her parents did.
Other: Ashlyn has a hidden talent of singing. Some would say she has a voice like an angel, least those who have heard her do so. She tries to keep it to herself, but some have caught her doing so.

Name: Gyafrith

Physical Description: Gyafrith is a normal sized blue dragon. The main part of his body is a pretty sky blue, but his wings are a darker blue. The darker blue of his wings can also be shown around his eyes and a line done his snout. From midway down his neck to his stomach is a normal blue color. His eyes are usually a stunning green color.
Personality: Ever watchful, nothing gets past this blue. He is always aware, always ready for action. A protective dragon, this blue is always out to fight the good fight, defend the weak and destroy evil. Although he may have the best intentions, this can wear thin at times. In all his attempts to protect and defend, Gyafrith can become overbearing. He means well and is only trying to make sure those he cares for are safe, but sometimes the blue underestimates those he is trying to protect. As he grows he will become increasingly aware of how small and fragile humans are and he will seek to protect them, occasionally from things they do not need to be defended against. This dragon can sometimes be too eager to fight others battles for them and can at times blunder into a situation when they neither need, nor want, a champion to step up for them.

Gyafrith has a pre-set idea of what is right and wrong, seeing everything in black and white. This is bad and that is good. Those that do bad things are bad and those that do not are good. His naivety to all the shades of grey in the world is something that Ashlyn will have to consider when handling her bonded. Gyafrith is dedicated to honour and what is right; to do something he sees as bad or allow it to go unpunished would be very distressing for him, leading to a very distressed dragon. Fortunately dragon memory allows him to soon forget these things and the names of those he once branded as bad.

Solidly in the belief that his chosen is the champion of champions, Gyafrith assumes that she is the best at everything. The concept that it is possible to be better than Ashlyn does not cross this blue’s mind. His rider is the pinnacle of humanity; no other could possibly match them. Physical Description: Ash'il stands at about 6'1, just a little shorter than his father. He weighs about 145 lbs, most of that weight being in muscle. The young man is known for being quite fit, muscular in his arms and legs, though not outrageously so. His chestnut hair is kept neatly trimmed, the edge of it going to the bottom of his skull. Like his sister, he has bright blue eyes the color of sapphires. He usually is seen in simple rider's clothing, nothing too showy, but definitely functional.
Personality: Ash'il is known for being protective, whether it is of his family or someone he feels needs his help. He may be younger than his twin sister by a few minutes, but he has always looked out for Ashlyn and their other siblings. He sees it as his duty to keep his family safe from any harm that might come their way. This protective nature expands beyond his family to cover all the members of High Reaches Weyr, wanting to make sure everyone is doing well. If someone is being picked on, he will jump in and get the offenders to back down. When a fire breaks out anywhere in the Weyr, he is there as quickly as he can to lend a hand in getting the blaze extinguished and lives to safety. Of course, this can lead to him being overzealous in being the hero, jumping in when his protection is not needed. There has been times when he has tried to save one of his sisters, just to find out they had it handled. He has also jumped to conclusions, such as when he thought he saw someone in trouble and it was just some kids roughhousing. This can also lead him to jumping into danger without any care to his own safety. He has been close to be trampled on by angry dragons he has tried to stop or been punches when dealing with bullies. Luckily, Iptoneth and his family have no qualms reminding him to be careful and pulling him back when he is not.

This young man is a hard worker, who puts his all into whatever he is doing. He doesn't mind getting dirty, whether it is helping to move a bolder trapping people or cleaning his beloved dragon. Ash'il is usually known to get up bright and early, whether working on a move that is giving them trouble or making sure everything is perfect. Just because he is a bronze rider, he feels like he still should work for everything he has. He makes sure to go above and beyond the call of duty, not just sitting back on his rank. He will put in extra hours and feels that leading by example is the best way to show who he is. However, this leads to a tendency for the young man to overwork and overextend himself. It isn't unusual for him to volunteer to help a friend plant a garden, then go help with a Wing drill all in the same day. There has been days where he went the whole day without eating, not having time to get a bite to eat. Not only that, but he has done extra training with Iptoneth, instead of getting some sleep. His bronze has been known to drag his rider off for food, sleep, or fun regularly. Also, those he cares about will also remind him that if he can't help others as well as he wants, if he doesn't take care of himself.

Ash'il is a very responsible young man, making sure he is punctual and prepared for anything he has going on in the day. He always has on him a bag of supplies, packed with anything he or others might need throughout the day. Always ready at a moment's notice for his Wingleader to call them for anything, whether it is a drill or a competition with another Wing. If he or Iponeth does anything wrong, he is quick to apologize and fix anything that might be broken. He knows that people look up to him, so he makes sure to model a good example of a respectable person. Unfortunately, this causes him to put pressure on himself if he makes a mistake or if he is unable to prevent someone from getting hurt. He will pour more time into training, to improve himself and make up for what he sees as 'failures,' even if only in his own eyes. He will also mentally kick himself if harm comes to another, his loved ones having to remind him he isn't to blame. Iptoneth does not let his rider dwell on guilt and has been working on having him let go of things outside of his control. He reminds him of all the good he has done and that no one is perfect.

History: Ashphil was born a few minutes after his twin sister, Ashlyn, to two riders of High Reaches Weyr. Unlike other Weyrbrats, he and his siblings were actually raised by their family, instead of being put in the creche. Like his siblings, he was used to one parent watching them while the other was busy. If both Alythrae or D'ast had to be away, another family member or a family friend would look after them. When he and Ashlyn were old enough, there were times they would even volunteer to watch their younger siblings. The young boy watched with interest as the leaders of the Weyr would help others, making him interested in becoming a diplomat. So as soon as he turned eight turns old, he headed for the courtesan hall. He spent the next six years throwing himself into his diplomatic studies, determined to learn everything he could.

When he turned fourteen, he turned his sights on becoming a candidate, having the same hopes of being a rider as his twin. He wasn't too worried if he didn't impress right away, feeling he would find his dragon one day. He lent his strength to his sister every hatching they did not impress, adding his voice to their parents' reassurances that they would have their moment in the sun. If not, Ashphil reminded his sister that they both had noble crafts they could fully return to. Though he would be lying if he said it didn't hurt a little every time they didn't impress, but it just fueled his fire to keep trying. He didn't know what kind of dragon would be his bonded, but he knew he would love it with every fiber of his being. Until that day, he would give his all to his candidate studies and craft, when he had time to work on the latter.

Soon after the twins turned nineteen turns, there was a hatching that would change their lives forever. Ashphil was watching as each of the hatchlings broke out of their shells, cheering them all on. It didn't escape his notice as one of the blue ones made his way over to his twin, before impressing to her. This made the young man smile because the baby had protected a sibling, so knew Ashlyn was in good claws with the blue. His joy for his sister was short lived, as he noticed one of the other babies were about to attack a fellow candidate. He sprang into action, putting himself between the baby and the candidate, determined to take the attack instead. Thankfully, one of the bronze babies came over and convinced his sibling to back down. He had gone on to explain that the young man was under his protection, before turning to the stunned Ashphil. The young bronze spoke into his mind, before his eyes burst into a rainbow of impression. From then on, Ash'il and his twin would be on their new path as future dragon riders along with their dragons.

Over the next turn, the newly bonded pair threw themselves into their Weyrling lessons and learning about the other Weyrlings. Once they had graduated, that work ethic was transferred to the Wing they had been assigned to. They memorized the names of everyone in the Wing and any information they gathered about each of them. Thankfully, Ashlyn was always willing to swap information she learned as a Weyrlingmaster's Assistant. Like his twin sister, Ash'il made it a point to know every rider and future rider of the Weyr, filling away any information obtained about any of them. He used his studies as a diplomat to mediate any situations he came upon and provide suggestions to those who would listen to help the Weyr. He takes is role as a bronze rider seriously, focusing on being the best leader that he can be. When Thread came back, he was ready to do everything he could to protect those he cares about.

Size: 42'
Physical Description: He is just a little bigger than average, but he is in fit form. He has wonderful stamina, able to stay up for quite a long time without having to land. He may not be as agile as a green or a blue, but he is decent at it for a bronze. He is pretty strong as well, whether helping to move something or carry supplies. He is a mixture of different shades of bronze, from a light yellowish along his neck and chest to a darker bronze along his back. He sports stripes along his back, upper part of his limbs, top of his wings, and his tail.
Personality: Iptoneth is a pretty calm dragon, not letting things rattle him. He can even be seen as laid back, seeing no reason to get all uptight about anything. In his opinion, everything will work out the way it should, there is no point in stressing. He likes to have fun and always willing to drag his rider with him. There was so much to enjoy in this world, why shouldn't they take time to smell the flowers? This leads others to accuse him of not taking things seriously. Which he may not take everything seriously, but there is things he does.

Even though he is usually relaxed, he is very protective, like his rider. He does not let anyone speak badly about his rider or his family. Also, those of the Weyr, he will look after and make sure they are all safe. That is why he will do all he can in the Fight against Thread, one of the few things that will get this calm dragon up in arms. Also, like his rider, this may put him somewhere he may not be needed. Maybe his rider's siblings do not need the protection or someone had friends to help move their things. It doesn't stop him from trying though, he has to help wherever he can.

Iptoneth is also very devoted to his rider, willing to do anything to make him happy. That is why he will put in extra time on a move, if it is really bothering Ash'il. He may think it is perfect, but if his bonded has an issue with it, he will practice. He is also having to make sure that his rider takes time to relax, telling him often that he is too uptight. Whenever their is a social event, the bronze dragon will push his rider into socializing. If Ash'il hasn't eaten all day, he will urge him to eat a little extra the next meal he does participate in. When his bonded hasn't slept, he will insist on doing so, even if it is curled up against him. If anything happens to his rider, he is bending over backwards to do everything in his power to make him better.

Physical Description: Demanthra is about 5'3 and she weighs about 135 lbs. She has blue green eyes that always seems to have a bit of a twinkle to them. Her hair is a dark brown with some sandy brown streaks seen throughout, it goes down to her rear end when it is loose. Normally she has that hair in a braid, to keep it out of her way. Her clothing was either a dress that used to belong to Ashlyn or a dress her parents bought for her themselves.
Personality: Like her sister, Demanthra is a kind-hearted person who hates to see anyone upset or in pain. She likes to make people feel better by writing or singing songs that they can lose themselves in for a little while. Music is something she loves with all of her heart, knowing that it is something that just about everyone enjoys. She pours herself into every song she sings or every instrument she plays. The young woman has learned every possible instrument she could, loving new ways to make music. Unfortunately, she can sometimes get very lost in the music and oblivious to what is going on around her. It doesn't matter if it is creating a new song or actually performing it, she gets immersed in the music. So if someone wants her attention, they are going to have to find some way to catch it or wait til she is done with what she is doing.

Demanthra is a very cheerful woman, always having a bright smile on her lips. She has a warm greeting for anyone she meets, no matter if they are part of the kitchen staff or one of the leaders of the Weyr. She tries to make everyone around her feel welcome, no matter who they are. In her eyes, everyone has their part to play, that is what makes the Weyr so strong. So if every member of the Weyr is encouraged, then surely it will only add to its strength. However, since she is almost always smiling, then the negative emotions get buried. After all, she didn't want others to be sad, so she shouldn't be either. This leads to the negative emotions to begin to build up, until they are released in inappropriate ways or places. It usually takes those who know her to encourage her to get out those emotions, reminding her it is good for her health. Also, she needs reminded that negative emotions are part of life, they are okay to feel and to show.

Besides what craft she went into, Demanthra also has another way that she is different than her elder sister. She is very outgoing and she loves making friends, she is usually surrounded by others. She likes helping others, just like her sister, but is more willing to risk her own safety to do so. Also, she can be a bit of a mother hen in her group of friends, wanting to make sure everyone is alright and taken care of. If she knows someone needs something, she will do all she can to make sure they have it. Of course this means that she puts the needs of others before her own, even if it is the detriment to herself. Sometimes she needs to be reminded to take it easy, that she can help others better if she takes care of herself. Also, she has to be reminded not to let others take advantage, by telling her a sad story.
History: Like Ashlyn, Demanthra is the daughter of two of the riders for the High Reaches Weyr. She knows how lucky she and her siblings are that their parents decided to raise them, including at least one foster kid. Growing up, they were used to one parent taking care of them, whenever the other had to be away. Sometimes there were the occasions when both parents were called to duty, so a member of the family or a friend watched over them. Since she is one of the middle kids, she didn't have as much responsibility, so had more time to go out and have fun. This allowed her more time to learn everything she could about music and try every instrument she came across. It also allowed her to make plenty of friends and become quite a social butterfly.

Also like her eldest sister, she felt a calling to be a rider, wanting to soar above the clouds like her parents did. She longed to have a dragon to call her own, to become part of something much bigger than herself. When she was nine turns old, she watched as her big sister impressed to Gyafrith. She was so excited for her and couldn't wait until she could stand for the first time. Of course she had to wait five more turns before it would finally be her chance to try to impress to a dragon. She stood on the sands, watching as each of the little dragons came out of their eggs. As each hatchling impressed to their rider, she was left one of the few who did not get lucky. She put a smile on her lips and congratulated all the new Weyrlings, however she was hurting inside. Those close to her did everything they could to cheer her up, reminding her that her time to shine would come.

For the next four years, she threw herself into becoming a Harper. She has been learning from some of the best harpers in the Weyr, knowing she wanted to make others happy with music. She practiced her skills every chance she got because she just adored being able to perform in front of others. It might seem strange to others, but she felt a sense of peace when she was singing or playing for others. She also continues to go to every hatching, hoping that one day she would find the one dragon meant for her. Also, the young woman helps a lot at home, now that the twins are busy with their rider duties as well. She knows that her family is counting on her to help anyway she can, so everyone can do what they need to. So she balances between her Harper studies, her candidate training, spending time with her friends, and helping her family.

Little did she know that her day would come, in the form of a very lively green. During that hatching, she was starting to lose hope, but the second to last dragon to impress..turned out to be her own. All during Weyrling training, Demanthra had to learn to curb Monath's temper tantrums. During their first threadfall, they got hurt enough that Monath had to learn to watch out for her rider better. Now that they have graduated, the pair have become assistant candidatemaster's to Master Gr'del, just like the girl planned when she bonded to Monath.

Name: Monath
Origin of Name: Monath gets her name from the Moon itself. Moon is dervied from the word moone, around 1380. Moone was developed from the word Mone, in about 1135, which is derived from the Old English Mona, which is from as far back if not before 725. It is a very old name, for a very special green dragon.
Age: 1 Turn
Color: Green
Size: 22'
Inspiration: This dragon was inspired by the 18th Card of the Majora Arcana: The Moon. This card represents imagination and the mind, and can find Pisces as its ruling sign. It is a mysterious, other-worldly sort of card, and represents poetry, madness, genius, visions, and illusions. It is a bit of a wild card but there is beauty within its madness.
Physical Description: Monath is an average sized green. She might be a little plump in size, but that doesn't make her any less lovely. Her proportions are spot on, and she has particularly good stamina for a green.
Monath loves to fly. She is one of those greens who will rise like clockwork four times a Turn. Due to her exceptional stamina, she is known to wear out the smaller blues. Monath is also close to Zenobiath and looks up to her sister. She may be a green, but she sometimes acts like a queen.

Personality:Monath is an artist. Since hatching from the shell this little lady has had an incredibly active imagination, and it will only get worse as she ages. Everyone who surrounds her, and every thing she sees, will become some prop in a story only she seems to know. Instead of being dragons, maybe they could all pretend to be herdbeasts! Or better yet, a group of harpers. Doesn't that sound like fun!? Or maybe her brother could be a wild feline, and she could be a vicious tunnel snake, and they must fight to the death! Rawr! Or perhaps her rider might get her some clothes to wear too, so they might make a beautiful couple. Or cover her in glitter, so she can pretend to be the Weyrwoman's gold! While these games might seem fun as a hatchling, it could get more difficult to appease her as she grows.

Monath is a very passionate green. When not living in some fantasy, or telling some far-fetched story to a weyrling, she might very well find a cause to champion. This could be anything from turning a homely blue into the talk of the Weyr; mothering the newest batch of weyrlings; or fighting for some sort of equality. Monath is a green that has extreme moods -- one moment she might be happy and joyful, and then next brooding over how everything is wrong with the world.

In fact, her great creativity and imagination, while it allows her to be a wonderful problem solver, can lead to some ugly traits. Monath doesn't like to be told no, or denied her desires. If someone really hurts her, she is known to get nasty, and won't be afraid to bristle, snarl, and snap. For as passionate as she can be, Monath can also be terribly irrational. If she doesn't like someone, she will go to the extremes to express her displeasure; if she is feeling particularly neglected, she might very well throw a dramatic tantrum. She might very well refuse to listen to reason on why she can't do something or get her way, so it'll be up to her rider to soothe her. Tantrums will be common if her rider doesn't keep her in check, and they will be explosive.

Monath loves to fly. She is one of those greens who will rise like clockwork four times a Turn. Due to her exceptional stamina, she is known to wear out the smaller blues. Monath is also close to Zenobiath and looks up to her sister. She may be a green, but she sometimes acts like a queen.

Physical Description: Astriana stands at 5'8 and weighs about 115 lbs. She has whitish-blonde hair that is usually up in a pony-tail or going down her back in a cascade of curls. She has ice blue eyes and if it wasn't for the scowl usually etched on her lips, she would be considered a real beauty. She wears very simple clothing, not liking to draw a lot of attention to herself. Her skin is very white, as if she had porcelain skin. She has a fit body, since she has to be prepared for anything with the beasts she works with.
Personality: Astriana is very protective of her family and those she deems worthy of her loyalty, just like her twin brother, Daimon is. If she feels any of those close to her is in danger, she will do what she can to keep them safe. She wants the best for them and will do everything in her power to make sure they get it. For any outside her circle, expect to get some very cutting and insulting words from her. It isn't rare for you to hear such things as "You are such a dimglow, do you not know what you are doing?" or "I could do better than you with my eyes closed or asleep." She does not tolerate people who have proven themselves incapable of what she deems simple things or bullies. She is very blunt and is one who will call it how she sees it, she doesn't pull punches. If there is someone she doesn't like, she is quick at pointing out their flaws and giving them a hard time. Her harsh attitude towards most people is probably why it takes time for her to make friends.

Astriana is seen as very cold and doesn't seem to express most emotions, at least to most people. However, for those she is close to, she can be a very warm and loyal. Even when out in public, for those who are dear to her, they can see signs of how she is really feeling. It could be as simple as a twinkle in her eyes or a look of fear, but those close will always be able to pick up the subtle hints of her emotions. It takes awhile for people to get through her defenses, since she feels a need for people to prove themselves to her. She has trouble trusting people, for fear that they will hurt her or abandon her. When someone does hurt her or betray her trust, she holds onto that pain internally for quite awhile. It takes her a long time to forgive those who have hurt her or those she cares about. However, her brothers and uncle always have her loyalty, all three of them are too dear to her for that to ever change.

She is very confident when she is in her element, not hesitating or second guessing herself. She is not afraid of doing the hard work she needs to get the job done. This confidence is seen the most when she is working with all the creatures she does, since she is very gifted in this area. Nothing, except maybe her family and close friends, gives her such a pleasure as when she is around them. It gives her a thrill to help teach them everything they are capable of learning and coming up with new ways for them to be useful. She believes sometimes it just takes a little hard work and creativity to find new ways they can help their Weyr. She is also very respectful to those of higher ranks, as long as she feels they have earned their titles. She treats the beasts she works with like family, feeling able to let down her guard down around them. For whatever reason, she gets along better with creatures than she does with most humans. In her mind, they do not have to prove themselves, they are perfect to her.

History: Astriana was born as one of a set of twins, the younger one by a few minutes. Astri doesn't remember much about her parents, since they usually didn't have much time for her and her brothers. When her and Daimon were about ten turns old, a sickness swept through their home and took their parents from them. It also caused their younger brother, Rowan, to go blind, which had been very hard on all of them. This caused the three kids to become very close, they would look out for one another. Luckily, an uncle of their's who was a rider in Western Weyr took them in. He seemed to be pretty gruff, but the trio would soon learn that he was a big teddy bear around them. Astri has always looked up to her uncle, he was a role model to her.

Once the children had settled in, both of the twins had decided to follow their passions into crafts that interested them. Astriana had a love for creatures of every kind, so decided beastcraft was perfect for her. Also, since she knew her little brother would need help getting around, she began to train firelizards to help those with disabilities. This was probably her favorite thing to do, knowing she would be helping Rowan and those like him. She knew it would take time to train them, but she was alright with it.

When she was old enough to become a candidate, she signed up, wanting to have a dragon of her very own. She was glad when her brother decided to join her, it meant that they could stand together. For the first few years, both of the twins did not seem to have any luck. That didn't deter Astri, she knew she would find her bondmate, she just had to be patient and trust the baby dragons. When they turned seventeen turns, things changed as her brother bonded to a green hatchling. She was happy for him, but she couldn't say she wasn't jealous of him impressing without her. However, he was her twin and she supported him and his dragon. She kept in contact with him when she could, but continued to balance her candidate chores and her beastcraft work. She is determined to join her brother in the ranks of riders, feeling she is surely worthy of such an honor. She also helps Rowan find something that he can do, knowing his handicap prevents him from being a rider.

Personality: Caelia is a protective flit, always looking out for her bonded and those important to Astri. She is a ray of sunshine to Astri, ready to do what she can to make her bonded feel better. The little gold is hopeful, knowing everything will be alright. She is also very affectionate, never one to deny a cuddle or head stroking. Caelia is a natural leader, having no trouble keeping all of Astri's flits in line and listening to their bonded. Unless she is told to stay put or has something to do, the little gold stays with her bonded, usually safe on her shoulder.

Why do you want this character? Caelia was my first firelizard ever mentioned in RP, back when I was part of SR. She is such an important part of Astri's life, one of the reasons she became a Beastcrafter. Her uncle had given her Caelia's egg when her and her brothers first came to live with him. This was when she knew that he was more than a rough man, that he really cared.
What do you love most about this character, if anything? I love how she balances Astri and shows what the girl hides from most others. She is Astri's best friend and the two have such a beautiful friendship.

Location: High Reaches Weyr (only for the last two months, before that she lived in Landing Hold with her family)
Physical Description: Zamistia is a small young woman of only 4'8 and 73 lbs. She has red hair that is in soft curls and goes down to her shoulders, allowing for her hair to have a nice bounce to it. Her eyes are a gentle grey-blue, always carrying a warmth to them. She has light freckles dotting her cheeks and a dimple on either side of her mouth. Due to being a herder on the Southern Continent, she is tanned. Normally the petite woman is seen in a light long sleeve shirt and an equally light skirt that goes down to her ankles, along with some knee high boots. She usually has a sun hat to keep the sun out of her eyes.
Personality: Zamistia is one who loves seeing people happy, wanting the very best for them. Her warm personality leads to her looking for ways to cheer people up when they are down or make them feel welcome. This could be anything from giving them a pie that her sister made or giving them a kind word that she feels they need to hear. It helps that she has always been very empathetic, able to understand what another is feeling. It allows her to know when to cheer for someone's good fortune or when another needs a pick me up. She will leave a little gift of a dress for someone who isn't feeling very pretty or a toy for someone who feels lonely from being far from home. After all, she is no stranger to feeling homesick, considering she just came to High Reaches. So, she tries to give things that she might have overheard someone say they like or something that she knows usually brings comfort to others, including herself.

Sadly, a lot of the things she does for others are done in secret, least those she can do that way. She will vocalize some compliments and encouragements, when she knows the written word is not as effective. However, she is more likely to leave a note written on a piece of hide or special gift somewhere it can be found by its recipient. The reason for this undercover kindness is because of her own insecurities that make public things harder. What if she said the wrong thing and ended up having people mad at her? There was also the worry that she would mix up people's likes and give someone a present they may hate. She couldn't handle people being upset by something she did or having people not want to be around her. So she feels it is much better to stay in the background, helping in whatever hidden ways she can.

Zamistia is known to be fearful and over cautious when it comes to interacting with the environment around her. Much like her insecurities in herself, she has them about a lot of the things in her world. Is that food really safe to eat, what if it wasn't cooked properly and it makes everyone sick? That firelizard looks dangerous, maybe she should give it a wide birth, before it attacks her for looking at it the wrong way. Her fears can make her take longer to do things that others around her can do in half the time. After all, she has to make sure things are safe, even if that means examining her food before eating or taking the longer path to lessons. This, along with her insecurities, make it more likely for her to stress out more than she should. After all, taking so long to eat might make it where she can't finish her meal. Or her going the long way, could make her late for lessons. This can be grating for those around her, since they usually bare the brunt of dealing with all of her fears and stress. After all, someone should probably walk with her so she isn't lonely or wait patiently as she is picking at her food. It takes a lot of patience and reassurances to get her comfortable, reminding her that everything is not as bad as she thinks they are. Also, people have to be able to get her to take a deep breath and remind her to live life.

A positive of Zamistia's overly cautious nature is that she has become very observant to the world around her. The young woman sees things that many others may miss, such as a slight twitch that might indicate someone is lying. She would never call someone out on it, but it doesn't mean she wouldn't discreetly encourage them to be honest. She is also pretty good at when a certain path may be a danger or when someone's actions might lead to unwanted consequences. After all, she has to keep herself and others safe, so she has to keep her eyes open for anything that might happen. It also helps her in her gift giving and encouragement of others, since her observant nature gives her further clues that her empathy may not or enhances it. Such as how someone might wear a lot of blue, so she knows to get someone a blue shirt or dress. She sees how someone's face lit up when they eat a certain flavor of bubbly pie, so she makes sure to leave one in their spot when they get up.

Those who can get past Zamistia's fears and insecurities will earn her loyalty for life. She is always there for her family and friends, the ones she is more open about her giving ways. No matter what, she is always ready to take time to provide them with a listening ear or anything else they may need. She wants all those she cares about to succeed in everything they do, cheering them on all the way. This is a girl that will be a shoulder to cry on for a friend who just lost family to thread or a cheerleader for a family member who just became a journeyman farmer. It gives her great pleasure to support her loved ones, especially after all they do for her. After all, at least in her mind, it is the least she can do. On the flip side, getting close to her also means people need to deal with her clingy nature. Once she has an opening, she will latch on to people and is reluctant to let them go. It is even worse when she is stressing out or fearful, since she will grab a friend or family member's arm or other body part tightly. She is also known to hide behind those she feels safe around, peeking around them to see things when she is scared. Good luck prying her off or getting her to come out until she has calmed down, so those who care about her should be prepared. Thankfully, those who know her well enough, usually can find some way to help her like she helps others.

History: Zamistia is the middle child to a pair of farmers on the outskirts of Landing Hold, located on the Southern Continent. Even at a young age, she was the quietest member of her family, among a sea of outgoing personalities. She loved her family dearly and would help her parents with the farming or tag along on one of her siblings' adventures. It was a pretty simple life for her, but she wouldn't trade it for the world. So she wasn't as adventurous as someone like her eldest sister, she was happy being her. Granted, she only heard stories about the early adventures of Belia, not being born until four years after her eldest sister had headed off to the Cooking Craft hall. Though, it didn't take long for the young girl to bond with her sister during the teen's visits home.

While she is close to all of her family, Belia,Tizenia, and her maternal grandfather have always held a special place in her heart. When her grandfather was alive, she would spend anytime she could with him. The same holds true for her eldest and younger sisters, enjoying her time with them immensely. Every time Belia would send a gift to her, she would savor every bite of the desserts she sent her way. If she could, she would have made them last forever, but she knew that wasn't possible. And her little sister she treasures every gift she gets her as well, they are as good as money in her eyes from both her sisters. She was cheering Belia on when she walked the tables to become a Journeyman in Cake & Dessert Design.

When she was old enough, her grandfather noticed that Zamistia seemed to have a fondness for animals. It didn't escape his notice that she used to sneak food to the canines, telling them what a good job they were doing. So since he was a Master Herder, he began to teach her everything she could about the craft. She soaked in everything he taught her like a sponge, eager to learn all about the best ways to be a shepherd. It also meant she could spend more time with him, which wasn't such a bad thing. Unfortunately, when she was eight turns old, her grandfather got very sick. She watched in horror as he got weaker and eventually succumbed to the illness. It devastated the little girl, feeling like the world had become a darker place. She doesn't know how she would have gotten through it, if it hadn't been for Belia being home after walking the tables and her little sister. She clung to them with everything she had, afraid she might lose them too.

When High Reaches called her eldest sister to help for a feast, she was comforted only by the thought that she would be right back. Little did she know, Belia would become a candidate and would be staying there. This sent the little girl into a panic, so her parents began to work on distracting her from all of these changes in her life. Thankfully, with her skills in herding, the Beastcraft hall in Keroon offered her a position as an apprentice when she turned ten. She didn't want to leave her family, scared that she would come home to them all being gone. Thankfully, her mother was patient enough to convince her what a wonderful opportunity this was and promising they would stay in touch. So knowing it would be a good way to honor her grandfather, the red headed girl was sent to Keroon to become an apprentice herder/shepherd.

It took her time, but Zamistia became comfortable in this new area, pouring herself into her studies. The next seven turns found her enhancing her grandfather's teachings and feeling at home among the herd she worked with. She wasn't prepared when her life changed once again, in a way that she would not have expected. The young woman had been visiting her sister during her rest day, when one of the dragons of High Reaches came right up to her. She let out a squeak of surprise, hiding behind her sister, before the rider came up to apologize for his dragon. Then he explained that his dragon saw potential in her and asked if she wanted to be a candidate. She was not sure what to answer, but with some encouragement from Belia and Cozellath, she accepted. Now she is getting used to being a candidate and all the things that go with it. While she is excited by this new opportunity, she is also scared of what will happen. She keeps in contact with her family, offering assistance to Tizenia who had followed in her footsteps in becoming an apprentice herder/shepherd.
