Prior to departure...

All suited up in his dark blue full plate, Revenge would pause to hug Abby as she started to break down. "You'll be in my thoughts until my return. I would rather stay here, with you... but there are people who might need help. I have to try and help them. The road I've traveled, has brought me to a point where I cannot turn a blind eye to their plight. But heed my words, I will return."

After the shadowport...

The first thing Revenge would do upon exiting the shadows is draw his sword in surprise to the monstrous bodies, calming himself after several breaths and sheathing the weapon slowly. "..."

He would look about and try to find any humanoid bodies, and check for signs of life. If none were about, he'd resort to checking one of the other bodies instead.

As Revenge checks the nearby bodies he can find no signs of life. It is obvious to him they have been dead for several days. The battle that took these lives must have been about a week ago.

Giving a corpse a slight kick Valac seemed a little annoyed, "Well looks like we missed the fun."

Turning to Revenge Valac asked, "You intend to give even corpses a second chance?"

Kuori begins her march for the fort, crushing a monstrous skull beneath her foot at one point during her approach.

Ruin covered his nose; the stench of decay was one thing, but this was on a whole new level. Judging by the smell alone, Ruin would have to guess this wasn’t a yesterday meal, either.

Thanks to Valac’s statement to Revenge, the third tiefling followed after Kouri with images of Revenge resurrecting an undead army to go door to door selling brooms and dustpans for the glory of the Moon goddess and Abby.

"As a matter of fact, yes," the paladin would say in response to Valac. Though he knew it was a jab, it was honestly a good point. "I just need a moment, then I'll catch up."

He would take to one knee, bowing his head and clutching his holy symbol in quick prayer to the gods. Though he followed the doctrines of Sehanine, it did not prevent him from offering a quick prayer to the Raven Queen to guide any fallen souls to a worthy afterlife, in case they were left to fester in this place along with their empty vessels. With so many abandoned and left to rot, it would be the best he could do on short notice to comfort their spirits.

After that, he would stand and walk a hurried pace to reunite with the others.

As the party approaches the wooden barricade blocking the entrance into the half built fort, the soldiers posted there imminently take notice of you coming. However, they don't seem hostile, only curious. Once the party gets up to the gate one of the solders would call down from the top of the barricade. "Hey, we weren't inspecting visitors so soon, what brings you to Light's Stand?" Obviously taking note of the parties weapons he would then add on "Mercenaries eh? Or are you here to enlist? I'm afraid the fighting is all over, but there is still plenty that needs to be done if you are looking for work."

‘Soon? So they are expecting someone? Hopefully, not Arian forces...’ Thought as he stepped forth, which was a welcome inception given his previous thoughts started to ask questions of pay, and care for such an undead army.

“I am Vaius Mizviir and we came in search of a goliath of the Lightlost Clan. Rumor has it she was rescued from the drow’s domain and brought here. We have one of her clan, who wants to speak with her. That is currently our primary objective, anything beyond that, I would have to ask how much are you willing to pay, for what task?” Ruin spoke plainly, “And is combat and/or torture involved?”

Flips up her visor, revealing her facial tattoos. "My name is Kuori Ronso Lightlost, I come as a representative of the Dead Goddess Kuliak, to bring peace to my clan in hopes that they can pass on and that I can save those that remain." She looks down at the guard, "You have the sole survivor to make it topside in your custody. Potentially my last surviving kin that hasn't been exiled or turned traitor." She doesn't add much more, but her tone is implying that she means, 'I either go past you, or through you.'

There wasn't reason for Revenge to add to the chorus. As he caught up to the others, he would slow his pace to remain next to Kuori and comment to her quietly, "So you did decide to keep your name. I wasn't sure."

Valac joined Revenge in not chiming in, these two talking over each other was bad enough. He did however carefully swing the sheath his full blade around to his front, planted the point in the ground and rested on the guard. This was really so that if it did kick off he could draw it easier.

Standing 20 feet up on a heavily fortified wooden barricade with a least a dozen of his comrades, the soldier doesn't seem very threatened by the parties aggressive posturing. He would simply respond. "Oh, a relative eh? That will do the lad some good. He is still rather shaken up by all this. He is currently recovering in the hospital wing. Here, I'll take you to him."

The soldier would disappear behind the the wall and after a minute or so the massive fortified wood gate would slowly swing open, allowing the party inside. On the other side the soldier would lead the party the rest of the way into the half constructed fort. It looked like the place was being built as fast as humanly possible. There were soldiers running to and fro with supplies and raw materials. The place was a din of sawing saws and hammering hammers. There were even mages using magic to move heavy objects about and set things into place. Yet, in the middle of all this frenetic activity, there was a chilling prescience. There, in the middle of the fort's open area was Tristian.

He was sitting in front of a small tent with a table full of his potions and a banner labeled Tristan's Tonics. The party knows not enough time has passed from when they left Gladesdale for Tristan to have made the arduous journey to this part of the world by conventional means. He would see party come into the fort and give them a wave and a mischievous grin before turning to address someone who had approached his table. The soldier leading the party into the fort would see this and pause to ask. "Do you know that man?"

While he hadn't been called directly to it before, Ilikan strolled to the General's office as if he might have. No fort was too much unalike another, and he looked straight ahead, paced without hesitation right toward the general's study, pausing only to rap firmly on the door and await a response before letting himself in.

With a straight, almost military, posture, and relaxed expression, gear rough and worn but well taken care of, low maintenance and practical, he looked every bit the mercenary that had been called for- except of course that he came alone, and wore hide rather than steel. Definitely not the regular rank and file- but that's why he was here, he figured. Somewhere or other, they were about to be in great need of a solid body.

"General," he greeted with a languid solute, giving a casual glance about the room- though it was the man's posture and grimace it stuck on, despite which the man appeared to be without any intention to take to bed rest soon. "No rest for the wicked, is there? I was told you had need of me."

Upon being asked about knowing Tristian, Revenge would elbow Ruin in the side of his torso lightly.

"Hey, isn't that the guy we met the other day before we came here? The one that approached the two of us on the road and tried to proposition Valac? ...Or were we still keeping that part secret?"

[ooc: Don't worry, Kuori will fail your bluff for you xd ]

"No, thats the a*****e that was supplying the enemy. And apparently he can teleport too. Probably came here to be an inside man on the fort and give them intel on what they are planning to do here to counteract their push. a*****e." While not particularly loud, if the potion seller couldn't read lips he would likely not get all of it, it was above a whisper. Enough that their escort could hear clearly. She would add, "Valac killed the guy that propositioned him. That guy did know him out though."
