It was early afternoon, and Fianth lay with her eggs out before her. She had spent all morning turning each one, and rolling them into their proper places. She had fussed over each egg, and had sent gentle, affectionate thoughts to each one. She wanted her babies soothed and comfortable, especially with such a big day ahead of them.

My Krahsujunth, it is almost time. The eggs would be meeting the Candidates for the first time, and she was both looking forward to the exchange, and inwardly worried. Not only would High Reaches be there, but Western's Candidates as well! She did not know them as well, though she did know that Zinath's was reliable. Still, it would be a lot of Candidates, and all of them only there for her precious eggs!

On the one hand, she knew that they needed to find their future partners, and she would never begrudge them their choice. But she also did not trust the Candidates as she did Krahsujunth or Rixth. She did not know how they would treat her beloved eggs, did not know how they would handle them, and feared the worst. Their eggs were hard enough to be touched, yes, but they were still fragile and not nearly ready to hatch. So her eyes, a bright-blue green, did have flecks of yellow flash through them now and then, as she waited for the large gathering to arrive.

Rixth, if you wish to join us and attend the Touching, you and Yours are most welcome. She reached out to the bronze, unsure if he would have a chance to attend or not. The Sands would be crowded, certainly, but they could accommodate all parties, including Rhianth or Kronoseth.

Easy now, love. Gr'del won't let any of them come to harm. Olliah sent an assuring thought to her dragon, stepping through the Sands so she could come to rest beside the gold's head. So far, there was no notice from Siriath that they were ready to arrive... but Zinath, and multiple other dragons from Western Weyr, had arrived earlier. The Weyr had many visitors this day.

Sending out a beloved thought to her clutch, the queen did her best to soothe. Be well now, beloved ones. You will soon meet many this day. She leaned down to tenderly nose a few of the eggs closest to her, before turning back to stare at the mouth of the entrance.

Olliah knew her gold was tense. While Fianth was often relaxed as far as queen went, her instincts did not necessarily like the idea of so many near her eggs. So the woman decided to remain close at hand, in part to keep Fianth in line in case something did go wrong, but also to hopefully be there in case any Candidate decided to step out of line.

She'd heard about what happened at Western Weyr last autumn... And while she was certain Fianth would never do what the queen at the island Weyr had, she wasn't going to risk it. Not with so many Candidates in one place

It was a rare thing indeed for Krahsujunth to willingly part from Fianth. Of course, being a blue and not a gold, he still had demands made of him. Drills had to be flown, thread burned, candidates (for his own children!) searched. Today though was different. V’rind had begged off tasks on the cranky blue’s behalf, knowing that with the candidates of two Weyrs inbound he would be beside himself and unable to focus any way.

As it was the male had stepped out of the sands just long enough to vent his anxiety (and hunger) upon a few choice herdbeasts when his love called to him. The wedge shaped head, stained purple-red with blood, lifted from his meal to whirl baleful orange-flecked magenta eyes. I come, my beloved. The head snaked down to snap up the second carcassbbetween his jaws before the stormy dragon began to stamp his way back to the cavern opening.

For a moment he stood in the gap, a dark silhouette staring towards the stony pile of the barracks across the bowl. A stoic viking watching storm clouds roll in over the horizon. Then he was in, padding in awkwardly delicate steps around the eggs towards the twin golden beacons there. His path curved towards the smaller, paler of the two, his intent pace slowing to a crawl around those smaller eggs nearer to her.

With a wet thump he slid the meal onto the sands beside her before he curled around, wedging himself half behind and half beside her, neatling down into the warm ground. Let them come. He crooned soft and low, pressing his jaw to hers before shifting to nose at the nearest egg. A whiff of hot breath rippled around the hardened shell. Our children are too good for them. But let them come. There is nothing to worry over. His rumbling thoughts might have been meant to reassure Fianth, or meant to comfort the eggs. Or maybe, perhaps, they were meant to keep his own hearts from leaping from his chest with an almost furious, protective concern.

Fianth appreciated that her blue had brought her something to eat, even without being asked. She certainly would not go hungry, but she also did not wish to take her eyes from the entrance.

Olliah, for her part, gave her queen another pat. "You can eat if you'd like, love. They're not here yet, and you know Gr'del won't let the come until Rhianth and you are comfortable." Clutching always lessened her gold's appetite immensely, and she knew that this might well be one of the queen's last meals. As the eggs hardened in size, Fianth was less and less keen on leaving to eat or drink.

The queen hesitated, before shifting so she could devour the treat. Perhaps a bit of blood on her maw would remind the Candidates that she was still a predator, and that these were her beloved babies they would be approaching.
Though she was not an aggressive gold, Fianth was still a queen, and had great expectations for how the Candidates should behave around Rhianth and her eggs. She would not hesitate to run any Candidate, or all of them, from her eggs if they did not treat them with the respect and love they all deserved.

And Rhianth...well. The gold could only imagine what her fierce sister might do if trifled with this day.

Ah, sweetest of hearts. I know this is good for all of them, but I also do not trust them to be careful when they ought. We will just have to ensure they are tender. She stated, allowing a tinge of red to color her blue-purple gaze. Turning back to stare at the entrance, she shifted a few of the eggs closer to her, and waited. None of the Candidates would be far from her this day. She had set up her clutch so they were close to her. Any who wanted to touch would have Fianth close enough to hear their words and watch their movements.

To say that Rhianth was unimpressed with the idea of sharing the Sands with the Candidates was an understatement. The Gold had been growling quietly ever since the scuff of sandals had touched sand. If any of the Candidates so much as stepped a toe out of line, they were very likely to be on the receiving end of a very large, Golden Mama sized helping of trouble.

She did not at all like this practice of touching eggs. It seemed terribly barbaric to her, who was at the moment half-crouched over her children protectively. It was not so much maternal instincts that prompted this so much as the knowledge of how badly things had gone before. She knew that Touchings seemed to aid infants in finding their riders, but she did not have to like it.

Her eyes were solidly red, not a hint of any other color whirling within their menacing depths. If ever there had been a dragon who might lash out against humans, it was this dragon. There was every likelihood that if matters went poorly there would be no further touching of her eggs. If she had anything to say about the matter, they wouldn't be going near Fianth's eggs, either.

Why, in her day Candidates had known and obeyed every rule. They had valued dragonets above petty things like socializing and posturing. They had not been afraid to humble themselves if need be. Aishe pressed a hand gently against her dragon's side, reminding her that it had been the woman's very confidence that had drawn them together. Surely the Candidates could not be so terrible as all that?

"Dearest," Aishe murmured, patting that golden neck. "They aren't here to harm anything. Do calm down." But Rhianth was in no mood to be obliging or relaxed. Not when they had shown their colors time and time again. She might not have personally witnessed it, but she knew her sources well enough to believe them.

Restlessly, she turned over this egg and that, occasionally reaching out her long neck to touch Kronoseth briefly, as if to reassure herself that all was well. For indeed, all did not feel very well. Not when she could not count on those grubby hands to behave themselves as they should!

Kronoseth, for his part, was near his golden mate. Like Rhianth, his eyes were primarily red, though blue and green did flick through them from time to time as he gazed down at the clutch. Still, he was not settled down or resting. No, he knew the importance of this moment, and his own protective, paternal instincts were already coming into play.

No harm will come to them. I will watch their every move, and if any think so much as a damning thought, I will remove them personally. Kronoseth knew that this was good for their children, but Rhianth's upset put him on edge, and he did not wish for any of his children to be harmed. .

Gr'del stared at the faces of the Candidates that he had gathered out in front of the Weyrling Barracks. There were many he recognized, but just as many he didn't. With Western Weyr having been invited, their Candidates were a bit more unfamiliar. Oh, there were a few he remembered from almost a Turn prior--certain faces that had caused trouble either during the Touching or the Hatching--but today was a new day.

"This is your one and only warning, so listen up, all of you!" He used his voice to his advantage. While he wasn't usually a loud or ferocious man, he needed to ensure everyone in the group heard him, and that they were attentive. "I don't care which Weyr you come from. I don't care how long you've been a Candidate. I don't care if this is your first Touching or the last chance you'll ever have. I don't care where you came from, what your history is, or what you're feeling. None of this matters at this direct moment." He paused, letting his words (hopefully) sink in and the gravity of the situation rest upon them.

"Once you enter those Hatching Sands, you are all to be on you very best behavior. You will bow to the queens as you approach their clutches, each on individually, and then you will approach the eggs. Do not linger too long at one egg. If the Weyrlingmasters or I ask you to move along, do so without fight. If Olliah, Aishe, Rhianth, or Fianth ask you to move along, do so. If the queens seem to get upset, remove yourself from the egg, and walk back to A'ral and I until we tell you resume. Do not shove the eggs. Do not hit the eggs. Do not talk loudly around the eggs. So not shout, scream, yell, run, or cause a commotion. Do not sit down in the sand with the eggs. If you are done touching the eggs, go sit in the tiers until we finish up. While you might talk with some of your friends, your focus should be more on the eggs, and less on them. You can socialize when you're done."

None of this was new to any of them. Still, he looked over the group, unsure what might happen. Every Touching was different, every dynamic changed. "If you notice your fellow weyrlings breaking rules, talk to them, call them out. If you're not comfortable doing so, tell A'ral or I, or one of the our assistants. You need to hold one another accountable. You need to hold yourself accountable. We will not have any incidents today, if we can help it. Those who do cause trouble, or who are caught breaking rules, might well be barred from the Hatching so don't press your luck."

The man glanced at A'ral, to see if he wanted to say anything, before preparing to lead the Candidates to the Hatching Sands.

"I don't think I need to remind you of what the consequences for disobeying our orders will be," A'ral said, scanning the faces of the Candidates gathered before them. "This is your last chance. Some of you have been very well behaved, but each of you have forgotten the most basic rules at one point or another. Let me remind you that lives depend upon your good behavior. Dragonet lives and Candidate lives. These eggs don't have any preconceptions about you. Let's keep their views positive, shall we?"

Once the Candidates arrived, Rhianth addressed all of them directly. I have heard of your antics. You will not upset even one of our children, or you are to remove yourself from the Sands immediately. What a disgrace they had been to some of her cousins! But Rhianth would not tolerate such a thing. Not in her Mother's Weyr. Not where their clutches were concerned. Did they forget in whose presence they found themselves? Two clutching pairs, with a total of five parents present? Let them mind their manners, or she would mind them for them.

Kronoseth, still postured behind her, let his fangs show, and a low, warning growl echoed his beloved's.

Things would go well this day or else...

Closes: TBD. Gr'del will call the Candidates back to the barracks, and A'ral will usher the Western kids back home. If your dragonrider was a transport, they are welcome to sit in the stands to watch. They also can linger in the Bowl or near the mouth of the entrance. Riders may either write PRPs or, if they're near the Hatching Sands or in the stands, can RP here. We'll leave it a little organic but if you want folks to touch the eggs, now's the time to do it!

Welcome to the Disney Song Clutch & Harry Potter Clutch Touching!
Please keep the following rules in mind.

  • IC Action will result in IC Consequence. Remember this!
  • You will not get to break or crack the eggs. Don't even try. If an egg is meant to break or crack, staff will dictate this.
  • Misbehaving now can get a character banned from the Hatching itself or kicked out as a Candidate. Don't test A'ral, Gr'del or staff!
  • Staff will try to respond to ICly to individuals touching the eggs. Depending on RL and time, we cannot guarantee a response to every post, but we will try! We will guarantee responses to at least two or three of your posts -- so make sure if you want your Candidate to meet an egg in particular that you have it be one of their first.
  • Please make sure you mention which egg your character is touching by the proper name and in bold type i.e The Ghoul Egg
  • Do not move your Candidate on once they touch a egg until you get a reply! If you move them on before staff responds, we will not write a response!
  • Please keep in mind that you might not get to all the eggs. IC events might cause the eggs to be untouchable or for it to end early. If you have a favorite egg I would suggest touching it early because we will not keep this open or delay closing once we're ready to move on.
  • Please do not edit or backdate which egg you touched. We'll try to keep things moving in the RP.
  • If you feel staff has missed responding to your touching post, please PM either Uta or Mr Cheri. We'll quote individuals with their eggs response but please understand that it might take some time. Give us a day or two, as we both have RL jobs and aren't always able to sign online daily.
  • We will move slowly due to how many eggs need to be touched AND the fact that we have less time than we used to!
  • You will not likely touch every egg OOCly. So pick your favorites and get your Candidate to them! We cannot guarantee responses to from every egg to every Candidate due to the size. We will get to as many as possible, but to keep us from suffering burnout, we may need to wrap well before all the eggs are touched.
  • If something goes wrong ICly or the Queen's get upset, the Touching could close early!
  • Please remember your Candidates have been TRAINED on how to act aroudn the eggs! Don't play them like fools or idiots because this is IMPORTANT to them. They could get banned from Candidacy if they act poorly during a Touching or barred from the Hatching. They all know better, whether they are new to the Weyr or not!
  • It is okay if you don't touch all the eggs! You can either claim they did and got no response OR that they didn't bother with all of them and that's okay too. Not every egg has to be touched.
  • You may join in or make new characters as long as the Touching is running. Once it closes, it will be assumed that all Candidates participated whether they actually did so ICly or not.
  • Due to the size of the clutch, we ask you only bring in Candidates that you want to have eligible for the Hatching!
  • You do not have to participate in the Touching to have a shot at Impressing from the clutch.
  • You may RP with others while touching eggs or waiting for responses. You may also have your characters remove themselves to the sidelines or the stands to chatter. Candidate should not leave the Hatching Sands though. If they do not wish to continue, they can sit quietly in the tiers until Gr'del and A'ral usher them to leave.
  • Once again, for sake of RP it is encouraged to touch one egg, and not move on to another until you are given a Staff Response. If your Candidate leaves the egg before the response, you won't get one at all.
  • Any other questions? PM Uta or Mr Cheri

    Clutch Specifics
Rhianth and Fianth's eggs are separate from one another. While your character can walk among them, just understand if you move from one egg to another, your character may well have to take a little walk to get from a Disney Egg to a Harry Potter egg. So it would probably make more sense to touch eggs from one clutch and then move on to the other ICly.

  • Don't linger near an egg for more than one response! One response is about all you'll get. Why? Because longer responses only add to our burnout. You might be able to linger if the RP is appropriate, but you're only ensured one actual reply from a staffer.

  • If your Candidate lingers too long at an egg, Gr'del or A'ral or one of the Candidatemaster Assistants might move you on. Or Fianth or Rhianth themselves.

  • We are NOT limiting how many eggs you can touch, but just assume you will NOT touch them all. So we still suggest you pick your favorites first! ICly, your Candidate likely had time to touch them all, but OOCly we just can't manage that with this big of a clutch and so many Candidates! So get your favorites out of the way early or be satisfied that you might not get to see the egg in the Touching.

  • ShinosBee, demon_pachable, and -_Wish of Tevarae_- will be helping us run some the eggs this time. That said, if they are unable to keep up, burn out, or replies aren't going out in a timely fashion Uta and Cheri might respond on their behalf or take back movement of the egg.

  • We will shut this down ICly if things get out of hand, if the golds get upset, or the eggs get upset. Please, remember, this is a Big Deal for your characters. Even new Candidates will have been told how to behave, what to do, what not to do, and the consequences if they break these rules!

  • Again, nobody leaves the Sands even when they're done Touching the eggs. Just go sit in the tiers and wait. Riders may also sit in the tiers or hang out in the Bowl to socialize or wait for their wards to finish so they can return to Western.

Thren had managed to coax his dragon away from the weyr this morning, so of course it was the day Fianth and Krah decided it was time for the eggs to be touched. Rixth positively jittered with anticipation as they finished their errands, then it was back to High Reaches and the sands before the pair could drop anything off elsewhere. They landed on a ledge close to the Bowl in relative silence, the bronze greeting the lightly bloodied draconic couple with a subdued hello before he settled. He watched Rhianth's agitation out of his periphery, hoping she might not notice him at all... somehow.

Thren was left to remove packs and straps as quietly as he could, directing a short nod of acknowledgment and temporary submission to Olliah. He might not have wished to remain here for longer than he had to, but there was no reason to be rude when they had been shown nothing but hospitality.

Rune and Rhys - HR Candidates

Rune was pretty far away from her brother, and indeed from anyone that might upset her. Hatching Sands were a big deal, and she would be best off following the rules of the Sands. As soon as Gr'del allowed them to come through, and she saw the Golds. Bowing first to Rhianth, whose voice made her shiver with some kind of pride, and then to Fianth, she turned and made her way towards the Harry Potter clutch first. A second bow to Rhianth happened, and then she was towards the eggs. How pretty they were, how interesting. Moving to the Slytherin Egg, a lithe hand rested against the shell. Beautiful thing, and so curious a shell. She had to admit, this one might well be one of her favourites.

Rhys, on the other hand, was quietly studying the eggs and the Queens. There was so much to consider in clutches that were THIS large, and he had much to think about. His bows lasted a bit longer than his sister's did, and then he moved to Fianth's clutch. Smiling, he spoke very softly, "A beautiful clutch, to be sure." Now. Time to find an egg. He personally moved to the pink egg near the front, touching Make a Man Out of You egg, eager to see what this young egg was like.

Veltanna was curious how things would go today. She had been to many Touchings, but never one with two clutches and 5 parents. Never one where the Candidatemaster and assistants were so on edge. It would be interesting to see what happened when someone misbehaved. She didn’t think it was an if. But she also didn’t plan for it to be her. No. These eggs deserved respect and care.

She bowed upon entering. Two deep bows to the queens and three smaller bows to the fathers. It seemed right to acknowledge those that the queens saw fit to allow on the Sands with them. Veltanna wasn’t pushing to touch the eggs first. She didn’t see the point. Let the new and eager ones go through. No need to cause tension so early on. When you touch the egg doesn’t determine the egg’s choice.

She allowed the movement around the sands to dictate where she went. All the eggs were lovely and all equally deserving of attention. So it was that she found herself at a medium egg slightly apart from the others. The Poor Unfortunate Souls egg was a good one to say hello to first. She gently placed her had on the shell and smiled.

Soui - western candidate

To say that Soui was terrified would taste a lie, she was far more excited than the poker face she wore showed, but she was also nervous beyond fault. She'd been reading, she'd been listening, and best of all? She'd been thinking. Thinking this was what she wanted to do (for various reasons) and thinking that with Tsuyat and Yudueth there (they'd brought her over, holding her hand the entire time) then there was nothing to fear. If she followed the steps and did everything right then there was a chance her....lifemate could be here, or at the very least new friends of friends she'd get to talk to....eventually.

Stepping on to the sands and wincing at how hot they were, Soui shifted from foot to foot before looking up at the massive dragons that watched overhead. Glittering golds, powerful bronzes - and a blue, stunning like the sky. She'd heard of them all, naturally, and her heart pounded in her chest with awe and wonder and now, perhaps, a little bit of fear. But fear wasn't going to help her here, not really, and she swallowed hard as her brain quickly followed the steps.

A very deep bow (she nearly tripped herself into the sands) was given in kind to the metallic parents of the Disney clutch, and Krah, and Soui cleared her mind to think like she'd been told. "Th..thank you so much for the honor of letting me come here to see your eggs. I will do my best to show respect for what chance you've given today." Her words were far more calm once they started to spill out and her mindset clicked in to place. She was here because they allowed it, and she would not disappoint them.

With her greeting done and her eyes careful to watch where others were, Soui took her first steps proper as a candidate towards a lovely small egg, dotted with pink and eyes. Placing a hand atop Baby Mine, she did her best to do what they'd been told - clear your thoughts and let the baby inside do all the thinking. Soui did perhaps say a small hello, and give at least a friendly wave.

Olliah stood with her gold, but she did not miss the arrival of a bronze or his rider. Fianth allowed herself to glance up at the bronze upon his approach, and did send Rixth a fond little rush of feeling. While she was certainly not in love with him, she had found him nothing but a sweet bronze, and so obliging to Krahsujunth and herself. She would not forget such a thing, no.

Olliah, for her part, gave a smile and nod to Thren. If the Candidates weren't beginning to arrive, she would have moved over to help him unpack, but did not quite wish to move from Fianth. Not yet. If you wouldn't mind...

Fianth reached out to Rixth and sent a message. If Yours wishes to join Mine, he might do so. No sense in letting the man feel isolated or separated. He had rightfully won Fianth during her flight, and just because Rixth was taking more of a backseat roll, it did not mean Thren couldn't be a bit more involved or have company during the affair.

Fianth, did add privately, I am glad you made it, Rixth. The eggs are hardening, and it will not be long before they hatch. Not quite yet, but soon. In a few sevendays at least. She was both proud and saddened by the thought.

When Rhys and Veltanna approached, her guard immediately went up. Still, unlike her sister, who was visibly upset, Fianth simply remained alert. She appreciated the bows, and made no further motion. Simply observed, leaning in closer to Krahsujunth.

This was their time--her eggs, and the Candidates. She would not interfere unless given cause to do so.

Shar's heart was racing with excitement as it usually did before a Touching, her eyes hovering over each of the many, many eggs in turn. Although she wanted nothing more than to run onto the sands and brush her fingers over all of them, she knew better than to give in to that childish desire. There were two queens to greet and two redheads to keep an eye on to ensure they weren't too overwhelmed by the whole process, plus all of the Candidates were still technically on probation. Everyone needed to be on their best behavior today and Shar was going to try to ensure that was the case, or else the golds and the blue and brown fathers would.

Keeping an eye on both Rizdax and Zamistia, she set the example for the two of them by first bowing to Fianth, then to Rhianth. Each queen was given equal attention and time before she righted herself and turned towards the other two, ensuring they gave the proper greeting.

"It's fine to move to the egg you're most drawn to first, or whichever one is closest," she said softly so as not to disturb the eggs or the other Candidates. "Remember, positive thoughts. If you need a break, just step back. Otherwise..."

She moved forward to the egg that was closest to her, fingers brushing gently over the shell of the Someday My Prince Will Come Egg. She turned her full focus to the small dragon within, sending a warm, comforting thought its way, soft words following.

"Hello, little one. It's going to be a busy day for you." Even as she spoke her chest felt strangely tight, her heart beating a bit faster than it already was. A strange feeling settled in her stomach - not a bad one, persay - but it definitely was a surprise.

Torin was normally slow at physical preparations. He liked for things to be Just So, and perfection took time. But today he'd just had a feeling, and when Gr'del demanded they gather outside the barracks to get ready for the Touching, there wasn't much he hadn't already fixed. Following their... pep talk of sorts... he made his way onto the sands with uncharacteristic alacrity, bowing to queens, brown, blue, and at the very last second the bronze in the rafters, before turning to their eggs. The clutches were similar in size, and as such he felt no strong draw to either one on that front, so he chose to approach the eggs of the larger queen, hoping none of them could read his petty thoughts.

Rhianth was a positively imposing gold, and before Torin moved any closer he bowed again, more briefly this time, then stepped forward with a confidence that might have appeared foolish, resting a hand on the Felix Felicis Egg and sliding it back and forth with a friendly pat.

Aroontwa was so excited. He was in a new place and there were two clutches. There were so many babies that would find their matches and today would Help! It was such a great day. But he also knew that he needed to be calm, which was hard, so he decided he would focus on one moment at a time. No worrying about what ifs and could bes.

He bowed to everyone as he saw so many others do. He was excited and the crowd was not moving fast enough for him but he remained aware of his size and strength. He could knock some of these kids into the eggs so EASILY. It would be terrible and oh the poor parents. No. Present thoughts. Breath, let out the worry. These were wonderful eggs! Approaching the Amortentia Egg he crouched a little to be able to touch it. Hello!

Meztli
This was all....way, way too much. The trip to High Reaches was one thing, but actually seeing the huge golden dragons and their mates lording over the array of eggs? It made it all hit home very hard very quickly for the young adult. More solemn than perhaps they had ever been before, they listened attentively to all the warnings and instructions, even those they had heard before. They did NOT want to get gobbled up, even if culinary delights had always been their passion. With quick but cautious steps they crossed towards the paler gold and her brood—that one, though blood-flecked, seemed a bit more at ease. “Thank you for the chance, pretty one...” They swept into a bow before sidling over to a larger egg to place one long-fingered hand upon the shell of Perfect Isn’t Easy, brushing a thumb over the rippling swirls and trying to contain the almost nervous, mostly excited energy they felt.

Finnisa
Rhianth wasn’t the first unhappy mother Finnisa had come across. Of course she instantly dropped that train of thought, not even daring to complete the idea of comparing the glorious gold to a goat. Still, it was easy to behave as far as she was concerned, and easy to be polite. She’d leave it to someone else to cause any trouble. She too crossed to the paler gold’s throng, bowing (and then tucking back her overlong hair when it draped forward over a shoulder) with a gentle smile. “Pleased to meet you, Fianth! Thanks for having us. Promise we’ll be nice.” Her first egg to touch was You’ve Got a Friend In Me, the happy little egg having drawn her eye. How long did she need to wait, now? It didn't really matter. She could wait as long as was needed, ever the patient one.

Zelaya
Zelaya was quiet, almost contrite as they nodded along to Gr’del’s warnings. They wouldn’t dream of shaming themself by misbehaving, or of endangering the babies. Only a fool would be so careless and unworthy. With that behavior they ought not even have been searched, they felt Z'tir would have said. High Reaches deserved better. They'd certainly try to be better for them. The small candidate crossed towards Rhianth, wide doe eyes staring up up up...and then down, as they humbly bowed. They didn't speak—what cold they say to interest a gold?—but that did not mean they lacked respect. It was only at these golds' willingness that they all were allowed near, after all. Then, without hesitation, they moved in among the eggs. The first, by virtue of being nearest, was Expecto Patronum. Slim fingers carded over the smooth shell, in awe just to feel it. This was their first touching, after all. Their first real chance to impress. Quietly they waited, exactly as they'd been told. If they were ignored....well, they'd move on. But for now, they would wait and see.

Falienn
A turn ago Falienn would have been looking anywhere but at Gr'del, paying no mind and unfocused, impatient to get on with it. Now, though, he knew better. Had had 'better' ripped into his flesh, and cursed with the lingering reminder to behave. This time he'd paid attention better, and been doing his best to tamp down the thrill of fear that being back on those hot sands wanted to stir up. That way lay only more trouble. He was better than that, he told himself. Maybe he'd believe it if he said it overmuch. Nothing to do but do it once they were turned loose. His initial instinct had been to go towards Fianth's batch...but perhaps she would recognize him as K'ienn's son. He knew well the lack of love there. Rhianth's, then. He bowed low, unable to even make eye contact for more than a moment, and then, thank goodness, spotted someone he knew near one of the eggs. Slipping to the one next to that egg, he placed a cautious hand atop Avada Kedavra, almost gingerly opening himself up to any feelings the egg fed to him, and ready to withdraw should the feel be...unenjoyable.

Tahirah

The time had finally come and...Tahirah was nervous. More nervous about the crowds of people that would be around her then the dragon eggs or even the adult dragons that would be watching over all of them. The number of candidates that would be on the sands, crowding around the different eggs just started to make her antsy and nervous, it didn't help she couldn't have Wadjet with her either. The light blue flit had cooed lovingly at her as she left her quarters and went to join the rest of the candidates as they lined up.

Head bowed down as she waited with the others, brown hair moved to hang in front of her face, shielding her from view. Focusing inwardly was easier to do, or at least she was hoping it would be. The crowd moved forward, Tahirah shuffling forward some, trying to square herself and gear up for what was to come.

Moving through the entrance, Tahirah bowed to Fianth, Rhianth and the males that were there. Seeing blue Krahsujunth beside his golden mate made the girl pleased, seeing them happy despite everything. It helped her to square her shoulders and move towards the clutch closest to Fianth, wanting to stay somewhat away from Rianth at the moment, she didn't know the other Queen.

Eyes focused on the eggs, Tahirah took one more steadying breath and placed the palm gently against the shell of an egg. A wave of good feelings and thoughts, as well as eagerness was sent to the How Far I'll Go -- Moana Egg.

Lucius

This was it! Well, everything was getting closer now that they were filling onto the sands to touch the eggs. The sandy haired boy was lightly bouncing on the balls of his feet, excitement coursing through him. This was great! Another chance to find the dragon that was to be his lifemate! He couldn't help but bow quickly to the adult dragons before moving through the sands, his eyes looking over the different eggs, trying to see which one might call to him, though he did plan on touching all of them, or trying to at least. He did hope that everything went well this touching.

An egg in Rhianth's clutch caught his attention. A brightly colored egg seemed to be giving off the same level of eagerness that he did. Moving towards the Gryffindor Egg Lucius placed his palm against its shell. Are you just as eager as I am to be here? This will be a great time to meet everyone.
