User ImageSuhar padded along quietly he was awake for the third day in a row now. His mother never slept and he had periods where he didn’t seem to need sleep but then the burden would always stack up and he would need to sleep for several days in a row. He was currently feeling as though he might be up for one or two more days before he would need to curl up and sleep. He could see his aunt and his cousin preparing to part ways. Sutāraion was leaving Eiru to go with her other mother. Inara seemed sad but accepting of the situation. His own mother was staying close to her sister. Watching the phims he considered things. He didn’t think he really wanted a mate outside of the tribe as it seemed quite hard. He noticed his grandmothers relationship was quite solid as was his mothers. He didn’t know how his aunt did it. She seemed to like the other fox she had kids with but they weren’t going to be mates. He didn’t know if she would find a mate outside of the tribe or not. He hoped she did find love one day. Seeing some of the other foxes in the tribe he did understand wanting to find someone outside of the tribe to get to know. He thought about reasons to date outside the tribe. Itov helped to raise the kits in the tribe and his family was quite large. It meant everyone knew everyone and there was some older fights or misunderstandings at times. There was interest in other foxes but the unwillingness to peruse and risk it not working out and changing the relationship as it was.

An orange blur darted past him. Hex was up to something. Looking around it didn’t seem that anyone was chasing the orange male yet so whatever trap Hex had decided to set up this time hadn’t gone off yet. Taking a deep breath he was glad there weren’t kits around the tribe right now as it might be hard to keep track of the little ones and keep them away from Hex so they didn’t learn his mischief. Sutāraion had become obsessed with trying to ‘catch’ stars after Hex had said something to her. Thankfully that phase didn’t last too long. Suhar smiled thinking about it. He saw a fox walking in the shadows. It was Itov the shadowed male seemed to be talking to someone but Suhar couldn’t see who it was as they were walking on Itov’s other side. The feet indicated it was one of his daughters but telling which one it was without seeing them directly was impossible in Suhar’s mind. Shaking his head he kept plodding along. He didn’t have anything special to do. It was clear the tribe was busy. It was close to their special holiday and yet he felt a bit disjointed from the rest of the tribe. The seer Karistal moved by and he noticed a few of her eyes followed him. Nodding his head in greeting he noticed she watched a bit longer before continuing on her task. He didn’t like the look on her face as she moved. Perhaps she was concerned for some reason? He really should volunteer to help with the festivities. Still she hadn’t handed off a task to him so he supposed it was normal to start to feel a bit overwhelmed trying to put a fest together.

User ImageKaristal blinked and tried to sort out what she had seen. Suhar was wandering around but seemed distant. With the veil thinning and activity picking up in the tribe that was a troubling sight. Perhaps he was feeling as though he was less important as a tribe member as he didn’t have a task? She worried for the mental health of other tribe members. She would speak to Ash latter for advice. She had found that the phim had excellent advice on the matter to the point that Karistal was actually less worried about her own sister joining Eriu and finding a mate in the vixen Haven. Contining along her way she stopped at the den of Rael and Emi. The bright phim was already out gathering swamp moss that was soft to use for laying bedding for the upcoming gathering. “Emi.” Karistal spoke at her normal volume but was certain that Emi could hear her. Soon enough a blue head with black hair popped out looking confused but cheerful. “Your mate is nearly done gathering the moss but perhaps she would enjoy some company for the last trip. If it takes longer than normal to return that would be fine as long as the moss is in the gathering area when it is needed.” Karistal had gotten the idea from another fox in the tribe Carolizea. The phim was new but was a romantic at heart and had suggested the getaway in tasks for those who were mates. The idea made sense and Karistal had to admit she was not opposed to it as it would mean more time with Ash even if it was doing a task. She trotted off leaving Emi to figure out for herself what the intent of the message was. It didn’t seem to take long as Karistal’s hind eyes caught the phim take off quickly to the point where it was clear she was rushing while trying not to rush. Clicking her tongue Karistal smiled. Seeing closeness in mated pairs was cute she found. Perhaps time had mellowed her or perhaps it was her relationship with Ash that had done so. Still the thoughts of mates in the tribe brought back the issue of singles in the tribe like Suhar. She would have to speak with Ash soon on the matter. Her eyes saw a large amount of leaves with tree sap under a bush. Leaning she saw a very thin vine was tacked to the pile. If a fox had come through here walking and not looking they would trip the vine and likely end up with leaves and tree sap all over themselves. Hex. The name rang through her mind with a large sigh escaping her mouth. That male. He was far too old for such antics now though with the festival coming up perhaps he was celebrating early. Shaking her head she pulled the leaves and vine about and cleared the pathway. She had some sap stuck to her fur which annoyed her. She would speak to Hex’s father Itov later. Honestly how Haven and Hex were brother and sister was beyond Karistal. They were so different. And not for the first time Karistal found she was glad her own sister Nalana had fallen for a soft and quite fox like Haven rather then the boorish over energetic male like Hex.

User ImageItov finished speaking with Haven about heading out to invite his family to the celebration this year. It was doubtful they would come and if they did he would have to make it clear that this place was not one of blood and death like the Cour lands were. Ixen and Yuki he did not worry about nor with his siblings but the others who were more distant family on Sin’s side were worrisome. It was always that way. Normally they would not come as that would leave their own land undefended and plainly they had little interest in his ‘soft’ tribe life and ways. He took no offense. They took no interest in him and he in them. It was a fair off seeing as how little the two sides interacted with one another. Still he would make the effort to go there and extend the invitation. It seemed Haven was going to head out soon and invite Nal’s family. Though Nalana’s phim father she did not know where he was at. The deer fox and his mate were easier to find. Every time Itov heard about the deer fox he found it strange which said a lot considering how few ‘normal’ foxes lived in the tribe. His mate saw ghosts there were foxes with extra eyes and didn’t sleep. But the idea of a deer like fox seemed strange. Did it have hooves and horns? Did it even eat meat? He would mention that to Shamin about having a deer friendly option for food should the deer fox decide to come. Still there was no garentee they would come. It seemed odd to have Nalana and Karistal’s family invited as Karistal had never made the effort to bring them. She seemed protective of her family and wanted preserve their privacy and not have the many mouths of the tribe bothering them. Overhead a dark blue phim was flying. He was quite certain it was Emi. He had seen Rael dropping off things here and there all day but it seemed Emi had been resting in the den as she had been doing patrols late last night. He had no idea what she was up to but whatever it was didn’t concern him at the moment so he stopped worrying over it. He was going to have to talk to Shamin about visiting and inviting his family.

User Image Hex was brimming with energy and joy! It was almost time for the biggest feast and holiday of the tribe! He had been preparing for this for months. He had several piles of supplies for tricks that he had been testing out found worked well. He also had brought a number of things to decorate and make costumes of for everyone. It was something he always enjoyed. He actually didn’t know how he was going to dress up but he was certain that any of the guests who had chosen to come to the tribe would be able to use anything they wanted to dress up and celebrate with them. That was exciting. He loved to see new foxes and wondered who was related to who. It was always a fun event. It was good to scare away evil spirits according to his mother. He didn’t know about all that as he couldn’t see ghosts or hear them like other members of the family but he didn’t care. It was a blast and he loved the holiday. He wondered who would fall for his tricks he had left around the tribe before the festival started his favorite was slathering several tree branches with sticky sap. The phims and deava’s would be in a for a surprise this year. He had convinced Carolizea to help him out for this little prank. Nowhere was safe now! Semi maniacal laughter dancing in his head and a few chuckles escaped him. He wondered his mother would be proud of some of the tricks. He bet she would. His mother was the best like that and had actually inspired several of them. He started to bound around excited again thinking of the feast and guests who might come. Who knows perhaps there would be cute foxes there who might like to go on a date or even just play some pranks with him.

User Image Haven had a headache. Part of the veil thinning as it did meant there were more ghosts and while she couldn’t see them she could hear them. Due to this she was more than happy to leave Eiru for a bit and go collect her mate and offer Nalana’s parents the chance to come to Eiru and celebrate with them. She was quite excited to have the celebration but she was not nearly as excited as she saw her brother Hex. He had been hiding things all over the tribe for a long time now. He tried to be sneaky about it but most everyone had seen it and been used to his antics for a long time now. She wondered what his masterpiece was going to be this year. She hoped it was fun for everyone as some of his pranks seemed to go to the edge of too far. She was confident that their mother would keep him in line if he started to stray too far. Yawning slightly she went to go tell her mother that she was headed out sooner rather than latter. She had been to Raust and Northland’s home before so the way was familiar to her. She wondered if she should tell Karistal about her trip but decided against it. Karistal was a seer and likely busy with the festivities coming. She had a feeling that her mother would let the other vixen know anyway once Haven told her and left. Her mother was quite responsible on that front. She saw her brother bouncing about like a fool. Smiling she kept walking and didn't bother him. He must be having fun planning something and she figured she would see the results later or hear about in a story.

User Image Carolizea was still trying to familiarize herself with Eiru land. The truth was she still got lost in the mists and through the land. She often had to seek help from Nimat or others when doing things like hunting. And with some large festival coming up she wasn’t sure what her task would be but if it involved anything that wasn’t in the tribe home proper or on the edge of the tribe land then she was going to be less then useless. She found she could fly to the edge of tribe land and then could always seem to find her way back but that was about it. She really didn’t understand how it worked but it seemed like even though she couldn’t always see the land below through the fog and even when she was certain she was lost the mists always parted and she was back at the tribe where she wanted to be. Nimat had tried to explain it to her before but she didn’t fully understand it and gave up trying a while ago. She wasn’t really sure she understood the upcoming festival fully but it seemed everyone was excited and that made her glad to see. She was glad she had been found by Nimat and come to cherish him as he did her. His home and family were warm and welcoming and she had found the whole tribe was much the same.
