The Players:
Before you battle! Read this!
Your Soquili's HP is 50 Your attack is 1d8 You may defend instead of attacking. Roll 1d6 to defend and minus the defense from your attacker's attack. Once per battle you may used a charged attack and roll 3d6 A 'turn' is complete when all parties have rolled to perform a task. If you faint in battle, it's okay! Roll 1d6 and if you roll an even number you're back up with 50% health. If you start a new battle, your health starts back at 30. Each beast has stats - read them and react accordingly! The Forgemaster has sent you with some supplies. The Dark Knight
Once, The Dark Knight and the Forgemaster were great friends. However, as the Forgemaster grew in skill and popularity, the Dark Knight grew jealous. The details of his betrayal are lost now, only known to the Forgemaster who dares not even speak his name. Still, the Dark Knight wanders the woods to the South of the Forge, hoping to run the Forgemaster out of business by removing his clientele. He is undefeated, but maybe you have what it takes. HP: 30 Attack: 6 per turn Special attack: The Dark Knight is strong. You cannot defend against his blows! Reward: 2 gold pieces

Whinny was still traveling with Angelou, looking for that some one she'd lost long ago. They'd had no luck so far but they'd surely grown closer through this journey all the same. They'd shared laughter and sorrow to this point and easily she could consider him her one true friend outside of the twolegger she'd once known. It seemed like months since they had set out on their journey. In fact it HAD been months. Seasons had come and gone and here they were yet again facing the cool of winter and still no sign of her friend.
"Angelous?" Her voice was quiet as they walked through the setting sun's dim light. "Do you think she's still out there? We've been going so long and still no one's seen her yet." she frowned as she hung her head in thought. It was starting to wear her hope thin going so long without so much as a whisper of where her foal hood companion might have gone. But yet she had to hold out hope right?
After heading off from Celendria's herd, Angelou had led Whinny out into an unknown journey. Even he being an apprentice knight questioned the entire theory of finding Whinny's someone that had vanished ages ago, Still, he wasn't going to give her his doubts or even any sign he was lost trying to figure things out. Instead, he manned up and acted like a stallion coming to her side in haste, "Of course she is" he spoke in a soothing tone, nostrils blowing outward as the warmth touched upon her cheek. "The world unfortunately for us is rather huge compared to our size. Its just going to take time to find her".
Lifting his head up confidently he inhaled the air, "You smell that? It smells like a Faire of some sort". His words were deep but he knew he would get her attention, "I think if anything Faires tend to travel like we are. Maybe we can ask around and see if anyone has heard anything or perhaps seen her in this region".
Sure it was just a hunch but he had to keep her motivated seeing provisions were running low since they left the base of the snowy mountains. They could just as well graze but, he wanted her to have a full belly for the incoming winter upon them.
Turning with a confident smile he spoke, "You game checking things out? We can fill the bags back up with supplies and water". Glancing sideways back at Whinny her emotions were downtrodden. Leaning in he bravely nuzzled her in spite of him keeping feelings hidden at all costs, "Whinny. We're going to find her or her whereabouts. I know we will".

She knew he was right. the world was so very big and they were rather small. She gave a small nod, her head dipping with the shame of her doubting their current quest. At mention of the fare though, she seemed to perk up. "You're right, they might have seen her."/ she offered him a smile, grateful for his companionship during this quest. "How knows what else we can find? Perhaps some interesting new things!"
Reaching out, she nuzzled him in return, joy lighting her eyes once more. " We'll find something for sure." His confidence made things easier for her in reality. Her doubts cleared for now. she pressed further, the smell of the fare drifting ever closer to them as they passed though the woods. "wonder what sorts of events they have. I mean, search aside it couldn't hurt us to have a little bit of fun while we're about?'
Angelou felt more confident at that moment leaving hindrances to the wind momentarily to feel positivity in Whinny. Holding his head up high, flicking his tail he took the lead taking Whinny to the Faire. When they were in the vicinity of the bustling faire, his eyes widened much like his mother's when a treasure was uncovered from the depths. The colors, sights, and smells were so intriguing to his senses that he felt compelled to do everything. Being a traveler, well knight-in-training he had gathered a few coins to use in his journies. Celendria had also nudged in a small bag of them as the young stallion was preoccupied with watching the human girl prepare their things. So, a little free time from the search would give them both the chance to relax focusing harder later when needed.
The first thing he made sure of was getting them both some containers of sweet water that had springs of mint contained within. Excellent for watering the palate and soothing the stomach. Then he purchased them both a pretzel which was delicious to the core dripping in amazing sauce. Lastly, he made Whinny close her eyes as he purchased the final thing that would show her he cared greatly for her finding her missing someone.
"Whinny keep your eyes closed just a bit longer", he spoke soothingly with a sparkle to his eyes, "There. Now you can open them" he smiled stepping back from her so she could see her reflection in the mirrored like water. They fit her so well his heart fluttered uncontrollably proud she had accepted his help. "Well.... what do you think? Do you like it?"
Waiting on her reply he noticed a sign stating Forgemaster Godric was looking for some assistance in some quests. Then his mind started churning wondering what task needed to be completed. After Whinny let him know how well she liked her gifts he'd ask her if she wanted to inquire about this task that paid well.

The sweet water and the pastry were delicious. Never had she had such delectable treats. He wings opened and closed however when she was asked to close her eyes and keep them closed. Like a butterfly drinking nectar, her wings folded and unfolded as she waited to be given the go ahead for opening her eyes. She could feel him putting something on her head, though what it was she did not know. The weight of it as it was settled kept her guessing. A wreath of plants? But what sorts of plants? She heard rather than felt him move backwards and as he told her to open her eyes, she did. Slowly, her eyes fluttered open and she was left staring back at the mirror like surface of water, a wreath of autumn roses ad been placed on her head. She brimmed with joy at the gift, her heart fluttering like the wings of the buzzy bee in spring.
'They're lovely, Thank you." He voice was soft, almost breathy as she stared back at the wonderful gift he'd given her. Of everything they'd done today, this was the best yet. "I love them the most." Again, she reached out and nuzzled him fondly, resting her cheek against him in almost a shy like motion.
He was mesmerized with envy that some small affection meant the world to someone. A knight should always protect those in his care but, should he open his heart enough to...? Shaking his head he snorted acting like a fly had explored his nostrils which indeed was his tactic to stop anyone keeping a vigil of his motions. Then his mind turned to the notion on the quest being offered with an opportunity to protect Whinny and prove to her he would be worthy enough to become someone special in the future.
"Whinny," he asked with deep sincerity, "I'm so glad you liked the flowers. They bring out your autumn beauty in essence and spirit". He smiled with a dip of his head, green flowing locks sliding with him, "You're welcome".
Then he stood tall glancing at Godric, "Whinny in our adventure of finding your friend I'd like if you'd help me on a journey of my own to better become a knight for your protection. Will you honor me this request Mi'Lady Whinny?" He also thought deeply on the subject of seeking Whinny's friend which may be out there where they were to tread. He was eager to start this quest and yet Angelou desired her consent yet. He lived within the Chivalrous code of placing others before himself.

She beamed happily at his compliment. Her eyes followed his gaze as he turned to look at the smithy. Hearing his request she pondered it but only a small moment. He was going out of his way to help her the least she could do was to help him in kind no?
Granting him yet another soft smile, she nodded her head. " I'd be happy to help you Angelou." She wanted to be of help to him any wat she could. After all, she often felt so weak and useless at times. Especially after her encounter with the kalona that'd meant to do her in. She wanted to be brave. To not feel so frail or weak. " Come, let us better ourselves together shall we?"
His heart was beaming at her acceptance to follow through to this quest's end. It would definitely etch another accomplishment in his belt while proving he truly was a knight of his word.
"Alright", he spoke with a serious tone, "It seems we must travel to the woods in the South and seek out this "Dark Knight". He leaned his head in closer to her with concern, "This will be dangerous but, if we can succeed the Forgemaster here will have one less thing to worry about". His voice then strengthened, "I won't let anything happen to you Whinny. He's going to have to get through me first". Then he paused, "Besides we have supplies if anything should go wrong so I'm sure we got this". Grabbing the sack full of items he looked proudly ahead, "Shall we Whinny? We'll both be heroes if this becomes a victory."
Granted he was worried a bit about the severity of Godric's request, but, a knight never backs down no matter the circumstances. Angelou was set for adventure which his heart longed for as it burned in his bloodline. His mother being a full-fledged adventurer always sought the unknown. His father was rumored to be a King which took much pride in being by Feena's side. Angelou longed for that as well, being the protector of the one you loved.
Nosing his way out the tent he set off for the south pondering how difficult or simplistic it would be finding this "Dark Knight".
Trotting after him, she pondered what it might be like to be a hero full fledged. Perhaps it would be a good feeling. Just what was so terrible about this Dark Knight any ways? Was he just some ruthless bully or was he more akin to something as terrible as those vile kalona?
Trotting up beside him, She glanced sideways to see the look of a determined adventurer. It was some how admirable. Unfortunately as the drew further and further out from the faire and it's attendees, she failed to notice a black shape in the distance. Before she could warn him, the Black knight was upon them shrieking something about the forge master and how they'd never reap any benefits of his wears. Her eyes were wild but for a moment before they turned hard with a determined look. She wasn't about to play the damsel in distress this time. Nay, she would go down fighting. As she took a blow, she retorted, rearing and striking out with her front hooves.
Angelou hadn't seen the shadow either that seemed more of a lingering giant to both their miniature sizes in comparison to his. His senses though conceived the darker image quite rapidly jumping in front of Whinny as she was attacked. Protectively, he tried shielding her from harm as any night would muster the courage for in this given of circumstances. "Leave her be you coward! In the name of what I stand for y the code if you are looking to battle, you fight me!" Lashing out with a nasty kick he sought to catch the Dark Knight clear in the shoulder or ribs. He himself got a nice bruise on his own shoulder.
How dare he intend harm inflicted on a mare small as she? Granted Whinny was holding her own which made him proud. When they first met she was so timid, accepting his help in her search. He chuckled remembering even a stick could offset her footing in the road. Now with determination, she sought to rid this dark knight from his evil path. First and foremost though Angelou would keep Whinny out of harm's way if he could. .
As Angelou came to her defense, she felt something tug at her feelings. It made her warm and flushed feeling but now wasn't the time to be getting swept away by things like that. The Dark Knight struck out again, attacking them with skill of a trained warrior. Still, folding her wings ever so close to keep them from harm, she turned and kicked out hoping to some how stun the brute.
Another spewing of torment spouted from the Dark Knight's muzzle making Angelou convinced he was nothing but a sore loser in the shadow of Godric, Lowering his head he lunged for an attack pawing the ground then went straight for the Knight who sidestepped out of the way bringing his own selfish wrath in the form of a nasty kick to Angelou's side. He stumbled but a wheeze only to stand his guard again protecting Whinny. Thinking back he remembered all the weapons the Foremaster had to offer to leave his mind wandering if a weapon would be smoother in battle then his tiny hooves. No matter really, for they would defeat this menace and return to her quest once more. When returned he would inquire around about her special person as it was the right thing to do in the code of profession he had accepted since becoming an adult.
Knowing Whinny was probably scared for his safety he merely stood strong with a confident smile, "Fear not Whinny, for even if he has gotten in a strike I am no mere pushover. I am born of a King and an adventurer thus, my heart is bold and endearing!". He lowered his head once more challenging the dark knight with flaring eyes, "I will always protect you against Forces such as this! We will be triumphant"!
Seeing Angelou get hurt gave her a moment to pause. It opened herself to giving the Dark Knight an attack of opportunity. He charged her striking her broadly in the side and knocking a bit of wind from her. Has he hit her though, she took that opportunity to lash out herself and latch ahold of his ear sinking teeth into it and jerking before fleeing to a safer distance so as not to be struck again.
Angelou stepped back as the timid companion he sought to protect took it upon herself to show her discontent. Her actions though were reminiscent of a feral creature as she went for their opponent's ear with no room for regret. This made the Dark Knight enraged though it gave Angelou an outlet for his own reasoning of attack. Surely, Whinny would be a target for drawing blood leaving the young knight to fall into his lead he had been training for his entire life. Moving inward pawing the ground with concentration he took off in a gallop that connected with the knight as its own attack whirled hard on Angelo in the form of a minor bite which he cried out.
Turning swiftly in his small stature he shouted, "For Godric and Whinny! I dispell you in the name of the code!". Snorting he kicked back with sheer force concentrated in one heck of a motivated attack pushing the Dark Knight back that he nearly stumbled till the point his back hocks nearly buckled as the front had. Angelou felt victory swelling within him and Whinny making this battle appear to be in their favor. Moving toward Whinny he came in for protection again not worrying about the bite that ached within his soft flesh. There would be plenty of time for healing, right now they had a mission to accomplish. Come cowardice or death the Dark Knight would realize his errors making him hopefully see the error in his ways.
