Name:
Cereseia
Age:
13
Sex:
Female
Sexual Orientation:
Unknown
Craft:
Runnercraft - Trainer
Rank:
Apprentice
Location:
High Reaches Weyr

Physical Description:
Petite Cereseia is a pretty little thing. At only 5'2" right now, she is a bit pudgy, but shows signs of perhaps evening out as she gets older. Her hair is a deep black with blue tones to it, and shorn short as of recently. Eyes are a bright gray-hazel, framed by long lashes and oval in shape, often looking lost or scared. Her mouth is full, and suits her pale skin. She tends to dress in rather drab clothes, and try to keep unnoticed, so she lets her hair fall in her face most of the time.

Personality:
Never let it be said that Cereseia does anything less than what she's told. Whether it's to the weyr authorities, or to the people running the Creche, this child is duitiful to a fault. She follows orders willingly and quickly, and never seems to back down from a challenging command when it's given. The girl hardly ever complains, unless she's terribly injured, and even then she will always find her own replacement before toddling off to a medic. Though it's difficult for her to do anything but obey. Being painfully shy as she is, Cereseia prefers to keep her head down and just go about her day, and any notice can make her bolt...though she will always listen to whatever needs to be said first. People are certainly not her strong suit at all.

There's no chance that you'll find her lacking in reliability though. She works hard, harder than most she would say, and puts her heart and soul in to everything she does. Every chore is met with strong hands and a confidence that only shows in these moments, and everything is done to full completion. Cereseia doesn't know how to half a** anything at all. She tends to foster whatever injured thing she finds, though, which can be a bit of a problem. Even the most disgusting creatures deserve life in Cereseia's eyes, and she will literally risk her own home in the weyr to try to take care of any hurt creature she comes across. Likely, once she comes in to her own, this might well extend to people too.

The girl likes to think she's intelligent, and most who know her might be inclined to agree. She picks up new tasks quickly, and follows along with instructions. Often, she will even go so far as to memorize names and faces, taking special care to recall any instructions that they might have given her at one point. She loves to learn, and learning people's behaviors is PERFECTLY worth her time! The one thing that doesn't quite show through yet is the fact that Cereseia is a bit OVERconfident in her abilities. She's so sure, despite her own shortcomings, that she's worthy of a Dragon, of her home in the weyr, and of her soon-to-come candidacy. She's also positive that she'll be the best Rider Pern has ever seen! She is pretty amazing after all...Just...No one else needs to know yet.

Positive Trait List
Duitiful, Stalwart, Bright
Negative Trait List
Shy, Bleeding Heart, Self-assured

History:
Born to a pair of Runner Trainers, Cereseia's life was all laid out from the moment she was born. Their hold was a small one, but to be able to train Runners that could exist in the mountains of High Reaches was something that the girl's family prided themselves on. After all, how many could boast such a feat! Their breed was the standard, stockier horse that was built for burden, but they were proud of the skill...and Seia was raised with that same mindset. She loved the beasts, from the moment she could walk, and by the time she was four, her mother had her in the saddle of some of the ponies. They would let their daughter see everything that went in to their work, so that she might soon be able to take up the mantle.

At eight, she began formal training under her father's hand, and the man taught her well. She could ride with the best, and was good with even skittish beasts, careful to work WITH the Runners, rather than against them...But peace rarely lasts. They lost her mother in her tenth year to an illness, the woman already weakened by a mishap with one of the Runners...and by the time she was 12 turns...well, things took a turn sour.

The flu epidemic that hit High Reaches affected some of the minor holds in the surrounding area. Cereseia's was one of the ones that hit. The child lost her entire family to the sickness, only barely surviving herself. When she was left with nothing, she was brought in to High Reaches. She was thankful for F'ahr of Brown Mesometh, who fostered her when she was brought in. She took to helping around the weyr until at last a dragon Searched her. A Blue of HR decided she could possibly have what it took, and next thing she knew, she was thrust in to candidacy. If she could just have a dragon...just protect Pern, maybe she could make something more of herself. Heavy thoughts for a 13 turn old, perhaps, but at the least, she is practical, and ready for the work involved.

Other: Anything else you want to add?

So, the character actually is too old to be a weyrbrat just from having been brought over to the Weyr. She would need to have been fostered, and even then she wouldn't by default have a right to Stand. That right comes from having been born/raised by dragonriders and having it essentially in your blood.

Howdy Wish! I have just a couple of small things for Cereseia.

Minimum age for candidacy is 14, so her age will need to be bumped up just a tad.

Her self-assured trait doesn't seem to be particularly negative as written, and only appears to apply to one specific thing, her desire to be a rider. If it doesn't affect any other aspect of her life, I'll need you to add another negative trait and describe how it affects her life. Just those two things, then I can shoot the approval through! heart
