[Forge PRP] Running Errands

[Yumitoko II]

This is an RP between Yuki (Yumitoko II) and Isolde (Lysia_Nyteblade).



Adding the stuff in this post as a quick reference.
Mushroom Soup

The Forgemaster's favourite food is mushroom soup. However, he doesn't often have time to go out and collect the mushrooms to make it. Find him enough mushrooms to make the stew and he'll not only share a meal with you but he'll grant you a shiny gold piece (or two).

Goal: Collect 20 mushrooms.
Instructions: Roll 1d6 and match your rolls to the outcomes below!

1. This mushroom is a little slimy and you're not entirely sure if that's a good thing or not. The last thing you want to do is give the Forgemaster food poisoning so you test it yourself. That's the only thing you remember and you wake up sometime later in a haze. -3 mushrooms
   
2. In the remnants of a decaying log, you find the mother load. The largest mushrooms you've ever seen! And even more lucky, you remember these mushrooms and know they're good to eat! (+5 mushrooms)
   
3. You seem to have stumbled into a large thicket of brambles. It takes you some time to pull all the thorns out of your sides and it seems as though they tore a hole in your sack and you lost some mushrooms. (-2 mushrooms)
   
4. Some of the woodland creatures got curious at the soquili traipsing through their home. You seem to be making an awful lot of noise and they want you gone asap! They brought you some mushrooms to help speed the process along. (+3 mushrooms)
   
5. Nothing out of the ordinary with this find, you just happened to sniff them out. (+1 mushroom)
   
6. Seems like another group of woodland creatures doesn't like you stealing their mushrooms. They perform an elaborate trick of death defying skill while another pilfers your sack! (-1 mushroom)

Reward: 10 gold pieces

Yuki walked alongside her companion curiously, the forgemaster had presented Isolde with a list of tasks to complete in order to purchase his wares, the damp autumn weather made mushroom picking a favourable choice. Surely the damp conditions during the season would be in their favour. They wandered until they happened upon a small cluster of mushrooms. Yuki stooped down to look at them, "Hmm...? Here's some mushrooms. What do you think? I wonder if the forgemaster would like these."

Yuki was from a far land and unfamiliar with the local flora and fauna. She popped a mushroom cap in her mouth. The texture was slightly slimy and yet, it didn't go down very well when she went to swallow it. Yuki shuddered and shook her head,"oh these are no good, they taste quite awful. I think we should keep looking." As Yuki and Isolde walked on Yuki began to feel faint.

Moments later she woke up on the ground with Isolde looking down at her and at that moment she knew she had made a bad decision.

Isolde was determined to get mushrooms of all sorts as she walked along with Yuki at her side. When they spotted their first mushrooms, she paused and allowed Yuki to teste the mushroom against her better judgement.

"Yuki?" She stopped dead in her tracks as she saw her companion drop to the ground. Gently nudging her she felt for signs of life. That mushroom.. it had to have been the other mare had been completely healthy up to this point.


Once Yuki recovered, she regarded her with a look of concern. "I'm glad you're back to the land of awake.. perhaps we should steer clear of those mushrooms from now on?" As she turned and walked ahead to try and find another patch, she lost her footing and soon found herself in a patch of brambles. No good.. as she moved she heard a ripping sound.. and paused. {b]"I think I ripped something..." As she looked back, she noticed a small tear in the bag they'd taken along. Now how were they to hold their mushrooms?

Yuki smiled up a the mare woozily and agreed that maybe it would be a good idea to avoid those mushrooms. "Yes, you're right. I'm sorry", Yuki already felt a little embarrassed, she'd offered to help but had only slowed
them down so far. Yuki stumbled along side her partner a little less than elegantly now, she was in a haze. Maybe those shrooms might be good for a sleeping potion, she would make a mental note of those to avoid them in the future. The haze soon wore off when she heard a sharp ripping sound.

Her ears perked towards the sound. It was a shame they had only brought one sack between them but since they only needed 20 Yuki had not thought to bring an extra one. The mare felt a little disappointed but nothing else could be done for now. With some umming and seeing she finally said," we could stuff some inside and bite or tie where the holes are."

She inspected further,"if we can get some big shrooms it might be okay. There must be some somewhere", the mare smiled, "if that fails I'll wear them like flowers in my hair. He'll never know", she continued to smile on sweetly.

Yuki pressed on with Isolde leading the way, the larger mare always had a commanding presence. In a way she seemed to rise up to the forgemaster just fine, but Yuki felt intimidated by the forgemaster but tried not to show it on the outside. They stopped to rest by an old decaying tree and happened to find some large shrooms. Yuki decided to not taste them this time. She picked them carefully with caution.

Giving her friend a gentle nudge, she had to agree. All was not lost just yet. If needs be they could decorate Yuki's hair or even carry them in her cloak as a make shift bag. After their short rest and even finding a considerable amount of mushrooms, she felt her spirit lifted. "Hrm… Where to look next..." Surveying the area around them, she could smell the earthy scent on the air which lead her to yet another decent find. One large mushroom. Wonderful!

Yuki and Isolde's joy became short-lived when some ill-tempered woodland creatures crept out of the woodworks calling dibs on the mushroom they had just picked. "Excuse me!"
Yuki lept towards one of the thrives trying to stomp on them but she missed. She stumbled forward and accidentlly kicked one of the woodland creatures back into the bush. She knew it would be wise not to stick her face into the unknown. She sighed.

The critter was successfully punted into a bush but not without reprocutions. Another critter climbed up Isolde's leg, diving into the pack and thieving off with yet another mushroom chittering it's disgust in it's get away before she could retort. Snorting angrily, she glowered as the group finally left. "We should move on.. no telling if they might return should we be staying here any longer."

Yuki tried not to show her displeasure because she was sure they would come back if she did. Now they were down to 4 mushrooms. "Sometimes things seem too good to be true...", she trailed off thinking about their encounter with the woodland creatures before her eyes rested on another cluster of mushrooms. They were so large! She felt a little excitement but was super suspicious of her surroundings this time,"are you ready to kick a** if someone tries to make a grab for it?" She asked Isolde quietly while she loaded up the bag.

Standing guard, she watched and waited as Yuki loaded up the bag. Once secure, they pressed on moving between some bushed that was until those bushes turned out to be hiding more bramble bush. he bag tugged causing a couple mushrooms to tumble out of the existing hole. Too late to notice she stepped on them and winced. "I'm so sorry... I'll try to be more careful.."

Yuki flicked her tail at the brambles and sighed ever so slightly,"it's okay. It's not easy terrain and that bag is weaker than I thought! No wonder the forgemaster doesn't have time for this nonsense." A her tail batted a mushroom gently by mistake,"oh hey." She inched closer into the brambles to pluck it out.

Again these critters. They had it in for them. Snorting, she had a mind to chase them off once and for all but remained steadfast in their hunt.
