After spending
so much time in close quarters with people, both as a candidate and a weyrling, to suddenly find herself alone was a bit odd. Not that she was ever really alone, not anymore. Alya found herself flitting about her new space in delight, trying to place personal touches on it as best she could.
i]But why does it matter? Baihath wanted to know, currently flopped onto his side so he could better peek through the door of the dwelling at his lifemate.
You aren't going to spend much time in here anyway!"That isn't the point!" She chided, pausing to give her quickly growing white a dimpled smile. Even just looking at him threatened to make her heart burst from the love that never failed to rush through her. "I have to sleep somewhere, so I want it to look nice! Or do you think I should sleep in the sand with you and perpetually look like a mess?"
Baihath's blue eyes whirled merrily at her teasing, and though he could see her point, that didn't mean it wasn't
boring. Just then, a firelizard called out, and the white immediately bolted into sitting upright, bugling out a cheerful call for Queenie.
Rio is here! He all but sang, prancing towards man, waggling his head to-and-fro like an excited canine. A brown streak flittered past as Patchwork chimed in with greetings of his own, apparently seeing it as his solemn duty to help guide the pair to their destination.
Alya peeked out the doorway, her grin spreading across her entire face. "Rio!" She called in turn, laughing even as she cast her eyes upwards. "And Queenie, too! As though this day couldn't get any better!"
