Jessalyn loves learning anything and everything. Unfortunately, she hates learning by reading, so unless it's a hands-on study, she'll find something better to do.

Jessalyn has a vivid imagination. This causes some issues because she often drifts into daydreaming when in class or when she's in the middle of other tasks.

Jessalyn was born to a wonderful little family with two older brothers. Her dad was an actor, while her mom worked in the ministry doing "unspeakable" stuff. Honestly, Jess doesn't even really know what that means. Her mom almost never speaks anyway??? When she was old enough for Preschool, she learned that being in a family of all deaf people was considered weird, and it was then that the toddler first tried hearing aids, only to discover they didn't help her hear at all. She developed a hatred for the devices, while also learning to embrace herself as a wonderful deaf girl. She got to laugh when her older brother made his set vanish, but only because they shared a mutual hatred of the annoying devices. When she went to kindergarten, her teacher tried to send her to the "special" classes, which Jessalyn protested heavily, since she's really very smart for her age. Instead, she got by with writing her words on a whiteboard, and managed to stay in her normal classes.

As her brothers left for school, Jess felt more alone than she had her whole life, which was the worst about being the youngest. First went Whit, then Dean went a couple years later. That, unfortunately gave her a lot of free time. She poured that extra time into any extracurricular activity available. She took a few extra classes, but decided her skills lay outside academics. Oh well, right? She still got to see her brothers over the holidays, and she cherished that time, even though one summer Whit was down because his friend had gotten hurt. Though, she hadn't really gotten more details than that, she was happy to try and help her brother cheer up. Finally, that next January, she was invited to join Hogwarts herself, and she couldn't be more excited.
